Visited Cefn Hafod as a last minute meal out. Really nice to see a village pub still going. Good parking. Relaxed, friendly atmosphere. The food was fantastic, partner and I agreed the steak was the best we've ever had! Even the little one cleared his plate. Pudding was also delicious. A real hidden gem. Thank you, we will be back soon and will be telling all our family and friends!

The pub has a traditional layout, and if you are going for food take the door on the right. The left goes to the normal bar. Despite not booking they accommodated us with a fuss. The welcome was warm and friendly. The food was excellent, the steak we both had was cooked to our liking and tasted amazing. Would definitely eat here again.

A Sunday lunch to die for. The main meal was plentiful and supplemented by a wide choice of beers, ciders & wine. It is clear that the produce is fresh, cooked fresh and presented well. We have eaten here on many occasions and no complaints whatsoever. I fully recommend this pub/restaurant if you want a decent meal at a decent price.

We visited last Sunday for the roast. And all I can say is WOW!! Definitely worth the drive, you won't be disappointed! Pork, beef or both. I opted for both and both meats melted, full of taste, cooked to perfection. And the crackling, sublime. Toast potatoes concerned me from look, but oh my.... Looks definitely can be deceiving, just perfect. Vegetables served separately to the table, and between 6 of us there was more than enough, including cauliflower cheese, which was divine. All Vegetables full of taste, and so well presented. Three lots of gravy, so no-one was waiting. And I can honestly say it's the best Sunday roast out, I've ever had!!!! If you want great food, top quality, I highly recommend. Everyone there was welcoming and really looked after us. We'll definitely be returning

A lovely, relaxing, welcoming pub / restaurant run by Charlie and her husband Sean. A very warm welcome always awaits from Charlie, with Sean cooking / producing such amazing, tasty food, to be eaten in the restaurant, bar or as a takeaway. I eat food from here regularly, including the Sunday Roast, chicken goujons, cheesy garlic bread, chips and the signature burger, sometimes the double burger, as well as desserts. With salad and homemade coleslaw, you will not be disappointed with Sean's food, as he takes great pride in the food he presents. As a person who is very picky about what he eats, I cannot recommend this pub and the food highly enough. Thank you Charlie & Sean.

A warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. Generous portion sizes of hearty dishes. Warm open fire makes the place that much more cozy. A bonus is that they’re dog friendly in the pub area so you can bring your furry friend to enjoy with you! Whether you're looking for a cozy spot to catch up with friends or a place to enjoy a great meal, this pub is definitely worth a visit.

Great food, great pints, great staff and great atmosphere. Pool table up to league regulations, 2 TVs to watch the various sports they show here and lovely open fire. A true country pub, and nice to see as they are quickly becoming a rarity

Friendly family staff and the burgers were good (fish and chips was overcooked). Could do with redecoration. What really let the place down was the extremely strong smell of cigarette smoke that permeated the dining room. We couldn’t wait to leave and get out into fresh air! This was unexpected and unfortunately means we will not be returning.

Great food, excellent atmosphere, and amazing staff. We were a party of 6 and all ordered something different from the menu, and everything that was served was amazing. Highly recommended the mixed grill and sticky toffee pudding. I can't wait to come back.

We called into the Black Lion in Aberaeron about 2:30 for some lunch. The two of us, plus our granddaughter and the dog. I asked if we were ok to bring the dog in and was told he was more that welcome. He got served before us as once we were seated they brought him a bowl of water! We ordered drinks and food. The food was exceptional. (We asked for and was given a takeaway container to take what we didn't eat home, it was that nice. We would 100% recommend going there, and will be visiting again ourselves. Very friendly and helpful staff (all three of the ones who we spoke to) 6 stars all the way as I can't give a 5 plus.

Lunch Y Sgwar Located outside Nathan Davies’ SY23 restaurant, a casual, outdoor venue. Essentially, Y Sgwâr is an umbrella-covered, glass-sided terrace dotted with wicker armchairs and high bar stools, plus a smoking BBQ at one end – from which ultra-simple small plates emerge when ready. As we're eating later, we chose just a few dishes to keep us going. We could have devoured the whole menu, and the choice was tough. Prawns - Nam Jim £12 Chicken- Lemon- Sesame £12 New Potatoes - Garlic Aioli- Lemon £4 Who'd have thought potatoes could be this delicious. Service is chilled but attentive. Aberystwyth is a breezy spot at the best of times, but the glass partitions, brollies, and heaters really keep the wind out.

What a wonderful couple who run the deli/cafe/restaurant. It is Aberystwyth's treasure. The food cooked by Mario and his wife Chiara is amazing and very reasonably priced. They are an important part of the community and they care.

When you’re by the seaside, having an ice cream is almost inevitable! Mine was from the Pier Ice Cream Parlour, a street facing kiosk which is part of the Royal Pier. It serves a range of interesting flavoured ice creams, along with a choice of cones or tub. My Smartie waffle cone with honey flavoured ice cream was tasty…and the round wafer was so cute!
