What a great place, and what a great host Jerome is. The charcuterie platters are the menu highlight 😋, and the Cotes du Rhône is excellent value

What a treat! Came with my husband , when we arrived at 7, we were the only customers... a bit worried! The decor is very authentic, the owner brilliant, the small menu well executed. We were advised on a carafe of wine that paired well with the duck we'd chosen, very nice. I grew up in France and always hate "French style" places but I felt very at home here, a warm welcome, delicious food, friendly helpful staff. I smiled at the Carambar! All other customers seemed to be ordering steaks, so that's what I'll order next time too.

I visit France often. Love French food. I rarely if atall review restaurants good or bad but our meal this evening was distinctly average at the very best- the soup was hot but very thin on flavour the limp salad leaves drenched In vinaigrette - aligot passable just but certainly not freshly made - confit duck - skin limp with no crisp and an average dauphinois - portion size inadequate - on the whole extremely disappointing given the reviews won’t be visiting again. Hopefully for them it’s an off night but I feel distinctly under nourished which isn’t the point when you make an effort to go and eat out

The perfect place to chill and eat one of the best cuisines in Bristol.

The confit duck is tender and the crème brulee is creamy but a little bit too sweet for me. My friend had steak but she said it was slightly sinewy and not crispy. The blue cheese on the cheese board wasn't strong enough for me.

The perfect parisienne bistro in Bristol. Absolutely loved the whole experience. Booking the table was a dream, so accommodating, food, service, atmosphere, absolutely faultless. Loved every minute. I hardly ever leave reviews, but searched for their trip advisor to review because I want to encourage everyone to go!

We had a lovely dinner here, staff so friendly, food amazing, buzzing atmosphere. We got the camembert, french onion soup, confit duck, creme brulee and pain perdu. All so amazing and would order again. Couldn't recommend more and will be coming back!

A small and cozy authentic french restaurant, Jérôme is just an amazing guy, friendly and helpful, I ordered steak medium well with a garlic-butter, and it was delectable, The food portions are good enough, but the "must" is their home made, creme brulee, it's even better than many places in France. Thanks Jérôme and your staff for an amazing dinner.

We had lunch at La Guinguette yesterday ( a family group of 5). We were all delighted by the food (lovely sharing platters, baked camembert, rillettes, duck etc) and by the welcome which really made us feel like we were in Paris. We'll certainly be back and highly recommend a lovely restaurant.

We always love coming here. Such a lovely welcoming French atmosphere. Excellent choice of French food and drinks and superb service. A real neighbourhood restaurant. Good place to practice your French too!

It's a great spot where we're always well received. the best mulled wine in Bristol and great food (I'm French). Prices are also reasonable considering the quality of the food.

My husband and I enjoyed my birthday meal here this evening. The best meal out we have had in a long time! Really beautiful, honest and hearty food, you won't be disappointed. The duck confit was to die for. We couldnt decide on a dessert each so ordered three to share, glad we did because each of them were amazing particularly the Pain Perdu Lovely friendly service, I'm really impressed and cannot wait to return.

Service is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Food was delicious - would highly recommend the ratatouille. Very accommodating of our baby and toddler. Food came out quickly, great atmosphere with vintage French adverts and artwork. Would love to visit again.

Great food, venue and service! Love the decor and spaciousness of the restaurant, and being greeted in French. We had two starters (baker camembert was my favourite, and pork pate) and two mains (rump steak and duck confit), both very tasty, with some wine and beer (the Merlot was very good). Recommended!

A gem of a place - excellent food; ambience; service....I had Ravioles de Royan (veggie) and the Entrecote with fries. Everything was excellent, excellent and more excellent. Very much look forward to going back! Plus i got to practice speaking a little French! Very much recommended.

Booked for a birthday gathering. The service from the welcome and throughout the evening was superb! Great ambience, like a bistro cafe vibe and lovely round table offered to celebrate. The waiter answered a few questions we had about the menu and we then ordered a number of plates to share and then our mains. It was a dining experience! Fantastic dishes and a good mix for the meat and vegetarians to all enjoy! Staff were attentive and we will certainly return. C”est Bon!

We had a lovely evening at this French restaurant yesterday. It had a very welcoming relaxed atmosphere and the staff were very attentive. Went for dinner last night, to this french restaurant. The service was only outstanding and the food was fabulous. Wine list excellent too. Good value for money without jeopardising the quality. We were very impressed. A evening well spent here. The interior is lovely, high ceilings, nicely decorated and nice lighting - created a cosy feel. Thank you. We will be back!

A slice of Paris in Bristol. The food was delicious, authentic and unpretentious. We stayed for a good few hours and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. Service was fantastic as well. Will 100% be going back.

I really wanted to try French cuisine, as I had never tried it. And I found your restaurant with a good rating. But unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed. Not only did the air conditioning not work and it was unbearably stuffy, but also all the smells mixed together, which stank so much that I lost my appetite. I managed to try some plate with sliced ​​sausage, bread, pate and butter... Seriously?! Is this a French menu? I wanted to try snails and toad's feet, but they are not available... I was in a French restaurant and ate bread and butter, it's a shame!

Authentically french! Stunning food and the staff are all very friendly. I got the confit duck which was incredible. We also shared pates to start. They fill up quick here so definitely book ahead!

Amazing restaurant, friendly staff who let us just pop in for a dessert (I was craving a crème brûlée!), fast service and extremely reasonably priced. We’ll definitely be coming back for dinner! Highly recommend.

We have been slow to realise this place was here even though we live locally. It was recommended by friends and we had a lovely lunch. A really authentic French bistro approach to the food and wine, which was all great quality. Really friendly service, relaxed atmosphere. Four of us had a mixture of dishes, including some sides, and the mini dessert option with coffee was fantastic. Great value.

A very sweet French bistro in Bristol. It is run by French people in the kitchen and front of house so you get the full experience. It’s actually fun to order in French - the serving staff were very patient with my schoolboy efforts! A short, classic menu of french dishes (all executed very well), a very nice wine list and great service make this a very enjoyable experience.

La Guignette - in France, a seasonal bar restaurant often in a park or square for casual eating, drinking and conversation. This all year restaurant fits the bill except for the Paris tag - it is really relaxed and friendly! We had a lovely lunch, will be going again very soon and I can say that it is a far better choice than the other ex-Bank building on the adjacent corner.

Absolutely delicious! My first real experience at a French restaurant and it was perfect! The vegetarian raclette was delicious. The creme brulee was incredible as well! If I'm ever in the area again I'd love to come back for more!

Just couldn't fault anything. Food was so good, even my Dad was impressed. Also they put a candle in my daughter's pudding as it was her birthday, which was a lovely surprise. Great service. Can't wait to go back!

We went for the raclette... It didn't disappoint! Both the meat and veggie options were delicious. Looking around at the other food coming out, it all looked amazing. Friendly staff, quick service. Fairly small restaurant so recommend calling a few days ahead to guarantee a reservation. Highly recommend a visit.

Such a lovely place, delicious food, cosy atmosphere and amazing service. The guy who served us was really funny and polite and knowledgable. I had the duck confit once and the onion soup another time. Both amazing, full of flavour. Loved the desserts too. They give you a very generous portion of the creme brulee.

We had a fantastic meal here for my birthday with two friends. Everything was totally delicious. My husband said his steak was probably the best he'd ever eaten. The duck was superb, as were the potatoes dauphinoise. We all love the (slightly cheesy! ) very French decor: it really does feel like stepping across the Channel for two hours. I loved my mini-puds with tea: by that stage it was hard to fit more in, but just enough for a treat. Out only (mini) gripe was that the service was a bit slow. But we were in festive mood and didn't care too much on this occasion.

Dinner at La Guinguette is our go-to for an anniversary and birthday meal out. We love coming here. Jerome and team offer fantastic service, food is gorgeous, great selection of drinks. Just perfect experience every single time. We can't wait for the next time. What we love: Cured meats board, the garlic butter, steak frites, duck confit. Cons: Genuinely can't think of anything!

The only reason I gave 4 stars for food was the entrecote was very thin and in oder to be cooked rare .. it came cold on the outside ...not good. Timing issue I think. Everything else was amazing 👏

We had lunch here on Saturday as a treat for our Mother's 90th birthday, and what a treat it was! Couldn't fault anything. Service, food, and the whole ambience were wonderful. We will certainly be visiting again on our next visit to Bristol.

From the excellent service to the delicious food and wines, it was an authentic French experience and it was fun to hear diners and staff/owners talking French too. You will not get a more authentic French restaurant than this in Bristol. Atmosphere and decor is spot on, food is perfectly French and presented beautifully. No fuss, no fancy and pretentious “nouvelle cuisine”. Just delicious French food and wine. Start with a Ricard with a sharing plate of Charcuterie then enjoy the fun of grilling your own Raclette Cheese at the table and then finish your evening off with a perfectly made crème brûlée. The owners work really hard to make you feel special and are happy to recommend wine or answer any questions about the menu. Reasonable prices too and family friendly. I really hope this great dining experience stays as we’ll definitely be back.

Great little gem of a place for intimate girls night out or date night for two. The food is classic french fare, all with top notch ingredients. Had authentic raclette, which brought me back to the Alps. Cocktails were elegant and well crafted. Jérôme who owns the place took excellent care of us. It's truly provides the vibe for you Amélie fans out there!

Lovely place to dine. Just like dining in a French café over the water. Authentic ingredients from la belle France, served in a perfect ambience by your host and his team. Very much recommended.

I had the raclette, which came with potatoes, charcuterie and pickles and loved every bit of it. Very cool getting my own little hot stone and grill at the table! The service and atmosphere was attentive yet relaxed.

The service was good, but it was visible that the staff were stretched. After receiving the starter of Martinique cod fritters, I decided to change my main from duck to steak as I figured it’d be less likely to mess up. The cod fritters seemed reheated and reminded me of a m&s oven meal. The steak was standard and the frites were over cooked. The wine was a redeeming factor.

Stunningly beautiful food best cooked steak iv ever had and i eat alot of steaks. I'm not a wine person but the wine paired beautifully with the food and the service was fantastic will 1000% be returning to this cute lil place. Was very surprised to learn it's been here 3+years.

I’ve had La Guinguette on my radar for the longest time and I’m now having strong words with myself for not visiting sooner. I loved it. We had the most wonderfully delicious and relaxing evening. The food is great and the service and atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming. We had a glass of red, steak frites and crepe Suzette. I’m already plotting my return visit.
