Cote Brasserie - Bristol Quakers Friars in Bristol, City of

The ambience was absolutely stunning and the service was warm and attentive, the food unfortunately fell short of expectations. I ordered the ribeye with mashed potatoes, and while I was excited to dig in, the steak was burnt and dry, and the mashed potatoes lacked the creamy texture I was hoping for. It felt like the execution in the kitchen didn’t match the quality of the overall experience.

Atento pero no intrusivo un crédito real al establecimiento. Ambos optamos por el filete, uno raro y el otro medio raro... cocinado a la perfección. Hubby seleccionó la crema de caramelo y habría lamido el plato 😉. Lo más destacado para mí fue el menú de queso francés... opté por 4 , que van desde suave, semi suave y azul... la elección en cada categoría fue genial... un poco más de elección de azules habría sido genial (solo 2 ) ... . Gracias... tuvimos una noche encantadora...

I travelled here today to meet a friend,hours journey. I booked online,i do enjoy eating out and i do regularly,in many types of restaurants. I booked on line. on arrival we had 2 complimentary prossecos !!! wonderful. We opted for the pri fix menu. 2 courses 21.95 food was, lovely,well presented,great portions. Lovely waitress very polite but not pushy. It was a relaxed fabulous experience. It was a wednesday lunch time and was busy,so that speaks volumes!! Well done for presenting good food and at a reasonable price. Just one negative ,,wish i lived closer !! Thanks to everyone for a very good experience.

Crab Maison, Condit Duck, Mushroom Cassoulet and Crepe Aux Bananes tastes very good and recommended.

The food was very good, but the service was far too quick and we felt very rushed. We placed our order and I went straight to the bathroom. On my return, our starter was already on the table. Between our starter being taken away and our main course arriving took just 4 minutes. We could easily have gone through 3 courses in less than an hour. We couldn't understand why we were being rushed when there were plenty of empty tables. Please allow customers to enjoy an evening out at a leisurely pace without making us feel like we're on a conveyer belt and you want us out the building asap!

Cosy, warm atmosphere. We came for wines and desserts and had a lovely time! The vegan dessert was delicious, and the service was excellent.

I love Côte. This is the 8th branch I visited, and the food was great, as expected. The scallop was perfect! The one star down is for the wait to order, we waited for over 15 minutes until my wife decided to stand up and go to the staff by the bar to ask if we could order. After that, their service was good.

Llamé para comer tarde a las 2. 30 . Cálida bienvenida pero en cuanto a la comida; porciones muy malas. A 22 libras. 00 cada uno desde el menú fijo muy decepcionante. Mi esposa tenía lubina. Era una pequeña porción servida con un mínimo de verduras. Mi filete hecho raro, que no pedí, era MUY delgado con una gota de mantequilla de ajo en la parte superior y un cubo pequeño de papas fritas y un poco de perejil de hoja plana. Ningún otro vegetal. No es suficiente para alimentar a un niño. Los dulces tampoco son mucho mejores. Una olla de mousse de chocolate, y una crepe con una gota de crema y la media jarra más pequeña de salsa tibia. En general no es una experiencia feliz. No volveremos a llamar pronto. En el pasado solía ser tan buena relación calidad-precio pero ya no.

appetizers were better than the mains. Seared scallops were good, tuna steak was awful. Pork belly was good, tomato soup tasted like downing a can of preggo

Food is good. Professional and efficient staff. I’ve dined at the Clifton restaurant but I think the dining experience at Quakers Friars is much better from my standpoint. The duck confit was done to perfection. I’m sure we’ll be back.

Went to celebrate a birthday and received fantastic service. My dining companions really enjoyed their steaks and fish stew. As a vegetarian it isn't somewhere that would be my immediate choice but they had a couple of dishes that were reasonable which is a nice change as so often places that are mainly about steak often only have other options as an afterthought.

Went at a quiet time, staff friendly and efficient. Good good but whitebait not as crispy as the Exeter Cote, charcuterie board lovely, steak frites tasty.

We had some lovely desserts, the flavours were spectacular. I absolutely loved the crème brûlée and a delicious eclair from the summer menu with yuzu and matcha white chocolate. The staff were great and the restaurant felt very clean. Speedy service. Thank you.

I came here after reading they do breakfast has I’ve been looking for somewhere decent to eat in the morning was happy to see they do French toast which is my fave the moment I walk through the door the are ok point from the welcome to the moment I leave quick service and attentive and food is fantastic definitely be enjoying this place a few times over summer

Excellent service and food. We enjoyed sea bass, goat's cheese ratatouille, and chocolate mousse. Really good deal for the fixed price menu. It was lovely to sit outside and the inside is really stylish too with comfortable seats. Staff were super attentive and friendly.

I am always moved by care. From that point it is atmosphere and food and drink. Then I am impressed by the continued attentiveness of teams and staff. This is an exceptional place for me. Reliable, soothing and high quality. I always know what I am getting. Maddie was an exceptional host to us. Super on the ball and couldn’t do enough for us.

Had full breakfast, the food was well cooked and very nice, very friendly atmosphere and very good customer service form the staff, the place is exceptionally clean, will definitely be visiting again.

Everything from the tomato soup to the sea bass to the crepe was appetising! (I had a three-course meal) I enjoyed every dish and the service! If you're looking for a relaxing and fine dining experience, this is it!

Wonderful food, great service and great location

Nice mediterranean cousine restaurant. I went with my wife and we had the lunch deal with 3 dishes for £21.95. Entry -> we had salad and fried fish Main -> I had steak with fries and my wife had chicken breast with mushroom sauce Dessert -> chocolate mousse and she had panquake with jam. All dishes were great and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice meal.

My friend Gillian has always loved this restaurant, so I thought I would visit and see why she enjoyed it so much. The food was delicious (and I admit I am usually a fussy eater). I finished everything on my plate! But the fantastic staff are what makes it special. Thank you for making it a memorable meal. I will return next time I come to Bristol.

Had a very enjoyable dinner here prior to a gig at SWX just round the corner. Good service and good food. The tuna Niçoise salad was well presented and tasty. Delicious crème brûlée to follow.

Stopped for lunch on a whim , starter and main was decent and the staff really really hard working , beer choice limited . However the dessert was brought with blueberries instead of blackcurrants and it transpired they had run out of blackcurrants but no one in the kitchen had told anyone , we queried it and was brought a new one still minus the blackberries ( as they had ran out ) but with a hand ful of additional raspberries ( as a bonus ) sadly that bonus had been pulled from a punnet or a bag without being washed and there was a creepy crawly clambering over the raspberries , that was enough for us to not want a dessert . What really got my back up was no one gave a toss really and so that's why I chose to remove the added 10% service charge ..... Had they have deducted 10 % for the ridiculous dessert mistake c/w creature then I would have given the tip ......the hardworking staff lost out . Also we won't bother returning whereupon whilst eating our mains we were saying we would love to return , so one error without correctly rectifying it gets a poor review , we won't recommend the venue and won't return .....but as stated earlier no one will give a toss ....

It was surprisingly quiet for a beautiful Sunday morning. We were a big table of 14 so sat inside, all pre booked. Most other diners were sat outside. Good variety of breakfast options, even for the fussier eaters They were organised and payment taken individually from everyone no problem

After my last visits to other restaurants, when I have been waiting long time for my order, I was very happy for the time to get our food, dessert and coffee. Thanks a lot

The menfolk liked their meat. The vegetarian options were just lazy. If you can do duck a l'orange and a decent bearnaise sauce, you can do better than a over-peppered ratatouille drowning in goat's cheese or a mushroom stew. Waitress was lovely.

We eat at Cote quite a lot, both in our home town and elsewhere so we felt sure of a good experience here. The welcome cocktail was undrinkable and nobody seemed to be interested in the fact that we both left them after just one sip. The food was ok and service acceptable which compared to all our other experiences at Cote equates to mediocre. These things happen but not what we have come to expect from Cote. We were however appalled at being charged £5.50 for a bottle of still water!!! Come on Cote, is that really acceptable pricing? Disappointed

We chose Côte to celebrate a friend's birthday, and it turned out to be a deeply disappointing experience. The food was just okay, but the atmosphere was dampened by being seated in the darkest, most isolated corner of the restaurant. It felt like we were deliberately separated from the other patrons who were all enjoying a nicer area. What truly ruined the evening, however, was the combination of neglect, harassment, and discriminatory treatment from one particular staff member. We were repeatedly ignored when trying to get service, and then this staff member would interrupt us abruptly when we were trying to enjoy ourselves. He even tried to rush us out multiple times, including once when we were taking photos with the birthday cake, refusing to bring plates, and insisting we were done. Later, while we were still chatting and enjoying the evening, he abruptly gave us the bill. It was nowhere near closing time, and there were other patrons still present who were not subjected to this kind of treatment. It felt odd and discriminatory. Management's response attributed the staff member's behavior to cultural differences, as he is from Brazil. While I appreciate the attempt to explain, the behavior we experienced was not a cultural misunderstanding but blatant rudeness and discrimination. If this is the kind of service Côte Brasserie condones, then they need to seriously reassess their staff training and policies. I strongly advise against choosing this restaurant for special occasions or if you are seeking a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.

Amazing building, right in the heart of Cabot circus. A very friendly welcome. The bar tender was very chatty & kind. Drinks were delicious. Nice and clean toilets. And lovely inviting area outside.

Have nothing bad to say about this restaurant. Great management through to waiters and kitchen staff. discounted menu weekdays is fantastic value. Good food, good value, good service. Flawless.

Onion soups may be too tasty Calamari starter nice 😋 Mussels, fish and potatoes with bread are nice and juicy steak with fries good in taste Mushroom with mashed potato a little bit salty for me

We recently celebrated with family and we had a fantastic experience with Cote. Stephanie, Barbara and Giorgia helped us with this special day. Barbara was very attentive to our wants and needs to try and make it run as smooth as we could possibly want. Giorgia was there on the day and we were all very happy with the service. Would highly recommend Cote.

My husbands birthday got off to a very good start. Breakfast was amazing. Gluten free options were excellent 10/10!!Very tasty! Excellent service from Trinity who was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Thanks!!

The best French toast I have ever had

Celebrated a family birthday last evening, very pleasant and successful. Set menu perfect for most , children's menu also excellent. Dietary requirements also catered for. Just bring back the duck!

Location 5 starts, food 2-3 stars, poor and cheap looking variety in "full breakfast" compared to previous visits, also the coffee, ordered a "oat milk" latte, first one came tasting sour, as if it was off, asked for a normal one, with normal milk, same story, I left the coffee on the side and enjoyed the tap water, probably safer to do so... It's a great location in a sunny day, but quality had declined and prices have gone up, more like doubled. PS: food looks nicer than it tasted

Extremely good experience, far better than an average meal out. Better than The Ivy etc which are more expensive, better than comparatively priced chain restaurants. Exceptional service, beautiful food, great wine, we had a really great evening out as a family.

The food was top! The mushroom sauce on the chicken was amazing! The crêpe was sweet and the chocolate sauce was the perfect consistency. Friendly waiter! The only negative: the portions could be a bit bigger maybe.

Cote doesn't disappoint, every time meal is delicious and service is very friendly and attentive.

Not the best meal i‘ve ever had by a long wayCame here for an early mother’s day meal with my son and safe to say we don’t be returning. Good points - the original waitress was pretty good. Starters of French onion soup and baked Camembert were lovely. The mains however were pretty dire. I had the tuna which was so over cooked it was hard. The horrible topping flavour soaked into the tuna making inedible. No, I didn’t eat it. My son had the steak which he asked for rare. It was medium at best but he said it was still quite nice. We asked for water which never arrived. At no point during the meal or even after did anyone come to check if everything was ok. In the end I had to get up to get the bill, and only at that point were we asked if the meal was ok. They good feedback but said nothing. Not a good experience at all.

Lovely duck and an excellent cheeseboard - a good size and tasty choice of cheeses. Limited range of cocktails, but they were good. Starters, steak and chips were fine. The place is a bit echoey and made it hard to hear each other, even within a small group. 10% service charge added as default.

It was a perfect and good atmosphere to enjoy dinner with your family and friends.

We celebrated a special joint birthday at Côte Quakers Friars and it will be remembered as a great meal. The food was excellent and the staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. I can highly recommend this restaurant.

First time eating at Cote, we were very pleasantly surprised. We had the lunchtime deal which proved to be fantastic value. The food was lovely and portion sizes were spot on. Staff were welcoming and efficient and the atmosphere was warm and relaxed. For a Wednesday lunchtime it was pretty busy compared to other eateries nearby and it's easy to see why. We will definitely eat here again.

Classic Cote - great food and great service.

Loved my Wednesday night, steak dinner here! We very much enjoyed the Steak Night offer, with a free bottle of wine. The puddings were really tasty, and overall a great experience with fantastic service.

Booked for New Year’s Eve with friends, as the menu looked good value for four courses & welcome drink. The restaurant was full with a good atmosphere and despite the place being so busy, service was prompt and friendly. Our food was excellent, with good choice for the vegetarians in our group too. Good portion size so nobody left hungry but not overly stuffed either! Each course was well timed, not straight after the previous one but with a nice break between so nothing felt rushed. Very happy with our choice of location for NYE, and thanks to all the team at Cote for making it a great evening.

We’ve eaten in several Côtes around the country but today’s service was the best out of them all. Our Hungarian member of staff was spot on. The food was simple & delicious. Our family lunch was the perfect respite and a busy shopping day for them all. Would recommend & will return.

Perfect experience. We sheltered from the rain and had lunch. Really welcoming. Barbara (I think), was so professional and knowledgeable about the ingredients. The lunch menu was great value. Visiting from Cornwall, we will definitely return when here again.

We had booked Cote for my birthday and really enjoyed the complimentary Cremant and the food was excellent. We had the Cote du Boeuf which was cooked to perfection with excellent and tasty sides. Was made to feel very special by the staff. Would thoroughly recommend Cote to friends and family. The food is always excellent and good value.

Un pranzo all'insegna dello shopping in piena zona commerciale di Bristol. Il ristorante in realtà offre un attimo di respiro alla calca del mercatino di Natale perché la location è ben strutturata, tavoli distanziati e design minimale e piacevole. Ottima scelta all'interno del menù, bella l'idea dello sharing board domenicale con tre diversi tipi di carne, buona ma leggermente "nervosa" la sirloin. Servizio molto cordiale.

We went to the restaurant for lunch. We ordered a bread basket for the table and thought it strange that some of the bread was toasted. My wife had muscles and they arrived cold. The waitress took them away along with my steak. The muscles returned later and my steak was returned. My steak was the same one it had the corner cut out and was over done. I asked for it to be returned as it had put me off. The waitress then denied it was the same stake. Very vert poor.

We hd a lovely meal at Cote on Saturday evening. We were a party of 3 adults & a toddler. The staff were lovely & very attentive. Food and drinks were excellent & bill was fair.

First visit to this restaurant for some time but a long time fan of Cote Clifton. Lunch set menu great value so didn't use main menu and couldn't get the free cocktail. Ordered a "beer" which was bottled over 600ml but nearly £9 in service.

Thanks to the team at Cote, one of the few places we found that welcome bookings for larger groups. Good communication beforehand, reliably well-cooked food across a varied menu and spot-on service on the night. We had a great time with friends, so much so we went back for their excellent breakfast.

I've been looking at the sponsored advertising on Facebook for cote and thought I'd give it a try. It was very nice I think it might be better on an evening on a date instead of lunch with the daughter. Never the less the staff were very friendly the food delivery was spot on my steak and chips was lovely especially the butter on top but I could have eaten more. I will go again and probably have the beef bourgenioun.

The restaurant was busy and a little noisy but we were shown to a nice quiet table out of the way (one of the group has hearing aids, so this was a great help). The welcome was, as always with this chain, friendly and courteous, and the food was absolutely excellent. See you again soon.

We visited as a family last week and had a lovely time. The restaurant was not very busy but we had really great service and our waitress was really nice and friendly (didn’t get her name but she’s just back from Canada!) The food was excellent, everyone enjoyed their meals. Desserts were also great especially the plum clafoutis. Great experience overall, highly recommended.

Stopped for drinks at Côte this evening as we had been locked out of our rental apartment nearby. The manager Adina was incredibly kind listening to our problems and even though it was close to closing time made us teas and coffees. It’s not often you find genuine human kindness these days and we were duly impressed. She is a credit to your organisation.

We stopped here for our date night a few weeks back. After walking around cabots circus trying to find a quiet but comfortable restaurant, we come across Cote. Lovely location and an enjoyable experience.

Delicious lunch for a set menu. We enjoyed the 3-course lunch which included dessert. The sea bass and chicken main dishes were amazing as well as starters and plum dessert.
