Visited here for first time after a few recommendations. Will sum it up in general - some dishes are quality and really hit the palate and deliver delicious notes on the taste buds, other dishes not so much, and let down a little bit in areas. Overall had a fair share of plates from ordering and taking from the belt, a lot the same dishes were coming round on the belt without much variation, did take edamame, duck and katsu sushi. Duck was hit and miss not much flavour and katsu was good but not mouth watering, my last attempt at the belt was a avocado and shrimp sushi and that was incredible, that was the hight light from the belt dishes. Ordered a selection of - shrimp, chicken gyoza, katsu chicken, loaded duck fries these ordered dishes were certainly better and all of the above were very tasty and hit the spot. Overall some quality stuff here but nothing to shout about it’s a good stop for sushi bar style food on the go, or resting while shopping and getting some good food in without getting greesy food from surrounding outlets. What did shock me was the price I was expecting to pay around £60 for 2 but bill came in close to £100 for 2 and I wouldn’t say I left full, did have to eat again that evening. Overall will score this visit a solid 7/10 - due to price and some dishes being below average. Will go back again one day and try again.

Food was delicious and fresh, however very expensive for what it is. Probably better to order actual dishes from the menu than having lots of small plates. We spent £68 for just 2 of us, on small plates and 2 drinks each. This was lunch and a pricey treat. It was extremely busy, so therefore, service was slower than usual.

We went for an early evening meal with our children and had a fab time. The manager was really helpful and friendly and helped us navigate the menu at the start as we weren't sure what was best to order. Children's meals were free and ours were reasonably priced. We left well fed and happy. 😀

Went for the bottomless sushi deal tonight with low expectations but had to leave a review as we were pleasantly suprised! For £59 for 2 people it was an amazing deal. Super busy but the chefs worked hard to keep the belt full so we had lots of choice and more than got our moneys worth, it wasnt just cheaper plates either there was a good selection of their most expensive sushi options. The sushi obviously isnt top restaurant quality but very good for the price. The waiters were friendly and available if we needed anything, after being put off a few years back we are glad we gave it another go. The only negative is that the selection wasnt huge it was a lot of the same dishes being put on the belt.

Walked in today to an empty restaurant at 12 noon. Asked for a table for two and was shown to the Sushi bar. We requested seating with a back rest rather than stools and was told we couldn't have a booth because we were not a party of 4. The restaurant was empty, all the booths were empty, the server would not budge. So we walked out.

This is the second bad experience at this food chain and will be the last. Went to Cabot circus for dinner, around 7pm. It was empty. Sat down and ordered two meals from the ousaka special menu and also took a couple of plates from the belt. A table of four people sat in front of us ordered after us. We waited and waited, the table of four received their ordered meals and we still waited. The kitchen at this point was empty. No chef, no one. Went and asked and essentially, they hadn’t put the order through. Eventually got our meals, the food was ok. Asked for the bill and the waitress just didn’t know how to work out how to split the bill and add a couple of plates to the special menu. We had to work it out for her. The service was rubbish and it seems like they’re more interested in doing their Uber eats/deliveroo orders than actual restaurant customers. We won’t be going back to any Yo restaurant

So awful. We have left and are on our way to the one at cribbs causeway. The service is so bad and it's dirty in there. They just avoiding looking or coming over to us when it was obvious we wanted something. They all seemed so uninterested and ignorant. I managed to eventually get someone over to pay for the two things my son picked up then left. Hopefully he doesn't get food poisoning. Don't bother and go elsewhere. I'm never going in there again.

Never experienced such poor service here as I did yesterday! We had to wait for twenty minutes every time we wanted to order something, and try desperately to get attention from any of the waiting staff. I was shouted at to "Move your bag, because someone needs to sit here and you can't have bags on the chair." I moved my bags silently, rather taken aback at being shrieked at; so much for good customer service. We were then asked (or told) to leave a review there and then, which was extremely awkward. Then we were asked if we would like to pay a tip or service charge - for what service, may I ask? I would order for delivery because I love the food, but won't be going into the restaurant again. It used to be great when you could order on your phone, and did not have to deal with disinterested and unprofessional staff. I would personally avoid ever coming in here - service at Wagamamas is far better, with better ambience and value for money.

One lads white trainers were filthy dirty with holes in which was enough to put me off my food, the other man bringing the drinks had his fingers all over the top half of the classes which is a big no. We haven't been to Yo for a few years so we were rather surprised to see how much the prices had been raised and what you used to be able to get for your money had been downgraded. The majority of dishes available on the belt were the really expensive options and the only way to order the cheaper plates were via the waiting staff. However, we couldn't get the attention of the staff because they seemed to be busy talking with each other at the opposite end of the restaurant. It's definitely changed there and not for the better 👎 You're better off going to a proper Japanese restaurant with much higher quality food to price balance. We felt ripped off.

Love Yo! Wherever we go, however our visit at Cabot circus last week wasn’t good, there were a mistakes in every hot food position that we have ordered. How can you mistaken prawn katsu with prawn crackers ? I don’t know but anything is possible there… make sure you’re double checking what waiting staff got in the order for you or you may wait a while for your hot food and then got a hot disappointment.

I used to really love Yo! but for whatever reason it’s really gone downhill recently. The value for money makes absolutely no sense. You order some teriyaki beef for £8 and you receive 4 tiny measly strips of beef on a bed of cabbage. You order popcorn shrimp for £8.50 and you get a similar story, like 6 little battered prawns on a bed of cabbage. Even something basic like a piece of katsu chicken is absolutely tiny, definitely not a full breast, maybe weighs 70g, yet somehow costs £6.10??? To make things even worse, they’ve now decided to pretend they’re a proper restaurant instead of a quick and casual eatery. Previously you would be seated super quick, scan a QR code on your phone and then order whatever you want, whenever you want, and then you just leave, super quick and easy, lovely. Now they’ve removed the ability to order on your own phone, instead you have to wait for a member staff to order for you on their own phone???? And even worse, they won’t come over knowing you need to order like a waiter at a normal restaurant, you’ve gotta ask someone to come over, but when there’s only 2 staff members going around in a busy restaurant, you could be waiting a while, just for them to do exactly what I could have done myself on my own phone previously. You’re still sat on bloody stools to eat, the chefs themselves are the ones who hand you the food, but the ‘phone ordering people’ still ask if you want to pay a service charge???? Obviously not, I don’t tip at McDonald’s either. Yo! seems to be having an identity crisis, I would recommend you try a Wagamama instead, huge step up in customer service, quality of food and value for money.

What a disappointment The food took far too long to both order and be served. It wasn't even that busy. I think the staff could use a bit more training tbf. The engagement was almost zero, except to be seated and then asked to move a short while later. (This happened to others as well as ourselves) A family who sat next to us left because it took so long for them to order. They couldn't get on the app for love nor money, and now one came to see if they needed help. My partner waited a good half hour for a bowl of soup. He wasn't even sure if the app worked. For a company that wants you to use their app they really need to look at their WiFi facilities. Personal hotspots had issues loading and the restaurant itself didn't provide a way to get on their. Apparently, according to the family that left, the one they usually go to died let you use their WiFi. So this makes me feel it's not a company wide policy.There was no queue when we arrived, unlike the other restaurants in the shopping centre at that time. That's why we picked it. That was probably our downfall. I definitely will never go there again. On top of all that they had the cheek to add a service charge which took us over budget.

The machine processing the takeaway sushi declined each of our orders 3 times because the wifi connection for the machine was spotty. By the time the food came, we had already waited 35mins (for the first meal). We were waiting for 15mins until the next takeaway meal came, so we began to eat our food in store. We promptly got told off for eating in store (I guess they wanted us to eat our food cold). Given the rice was also soggy, there was no redeeming factors to this venue. Itzu is just around corner, recommend instead.

I usually love yo sushi, however this time was a disappointment, when we arrived there weee tables ready and clean but the lady who greet us decided to make us wait to clean a table rather than give us one of the clean spaces. We were given one menu to share for two people and we asked for our order to be taken as we didn’t have a phone with us, the waitress response was “well you’ll have to wait as we are very busy right now” as she kept sitting more customers, rather than serving the ones that were already there. We ended up leaving to go elsewhere. Very rude.

We came in around 1.5 hours before closing and were greeted with a team that was very clearly shutting the place down around customers. The service from the chefs was great and quick, but we were sat directly opposite the door; which meant getting a freezing draft anytime someone entered or left. The menu and the app menu do not match up, which is more likely a head-office sort of problem but all the same, very inconvenient when you're trying to order. It culminated with a staff member asking one of the two of us to move seats so she could shut down the adjacent table, with a cloth & bucket of water plonked next to us. All in, not a great experience here and I won't be coming back; and to echo some of the comments, £9 for the katsu of that size is quite poor.

Food is good, and there's a decent variety of new dishes. But the prices seem to have been quite significantly hiked up lately, which really took the enjoyment out of the meal. £8+ for California rolls is too much. £3.50 for a small bowl of edamame similarly feels like a lot. Didn't have a bad experience at all, but not sure I can afford to take my family back there any time soon, which is a shame as we've had some lovely experiences in this branch in the past.

First time visiting Yo sushi in Bristol area with my friends on 12/10/23. By the time we were there, only 3 other customer were in the restaurant. One of the staff brought us to a corner table (limited in space due to sharp turning) we requested to sit other empty seats as we all have back pack and clothing. Staff appeared very reluctant and keep challenging our reasons for not sitting at the packed, narrow seats. 1. Enjoy a meal comfortably is the basic quality service. 2. The time were not even at peak hour, if the restaurant already crowded with people, we won’t have such request. 3. Staff was not considering customer feeling and keeping challenging for at least 3 times ( If you were travelers, do you expected to have a meal while holding our belonging and eating elbow touching each other elbow) 4. I question is this a trained customer service quality by not able to step into customers shoes? 5. Manager didn’t step in the first place and let a impulsive staff to keep challenging customer for a simple request and continue to justify the impoliteness A really disappointing experience and will never try this restaurant nor recommend to friends

After being seated, the link from the QR wouldn’t work which understandably is out of the staffs control. We had our order taken and then waited over 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive followed by second member of staff trying to bring our drinks order 5 minutes later. By this time a family had been seated, eaten and left. It was then a waiting game for our platter and again to pay. This used to be one of our favourite places to dine but sadly we will not be returning after this experience.

This place is a mess. One particular staff member, blonde hair was rude to us, all she does is chat to other staff members. Our food that was sat on the counter for over 5 minutes arrived eventually after waiting a full 40 minutes to be made. When questioned she just shrugged her shoulders. We left and she was sat at the counter reading her own menu whilst the junior staff rallied around servicing a busy service?! The food was not nice, I got two dumplings in my soup and it tasted like dishwater. Complained, as I used a blue card they told me the system wasn’t working so will removed the drink because of the service we received, the amount deducted was less than the blue card discount. No comment received from the complaint I made to head office after over a week, I truly believe as we were a mixed race gay couple, YO doesn’t like that or this particular staff member didn’t and it shows. This place has gone down hill, not the same as it use to be. Avoid this place and YO, lots of other nice Japanese restaurants to choose from.

I went to yo sushi alone, 1 person and the place was basically empty except 2 tables. I still waited 15 minutes to be seated and most of the staff were on their phones or just chatting instead of paying attention to customers. Terrible service won’t go again.

Really great service and food. So easy to just pick up dishes from the conveyer and the phone based ordering worked very smoothly. Everyone loved the flavours and the chocolate puddings were also a real hit with the kids.

Terrible Japanese food. No more asian will patronize. The chef only reach kitchen assistant level. The most worst Japanese food in HK are much better than Yo! They're cheating the European. Don't be fooled, a Japanese restaurant is trying to deceive Europeans, and they use light soy sauce as Japanese soy sauce.

For starters, not much on variety, salmon and tuna. Some of the plates on the belt way to long, looked dry or aging. The sauce on the Korean chicken was just not right if you've ever had proper Korean style chicken, honestly after just after 1 and a half plates I lost my appetite. Didn't finish the chicken. I had ordered a water and a coke zero. Bill was 25.00 pounds. When I was ready to pay, staff paid no attention, waived then down on two occasions and was ignored, I finally had to dig into their app and hit the help button. They where to buried in their phones to be troubled. No eel No mackerel No hamachi No yellow fin Basic rolls and bland flavors is what you like with sushi this place Knight be good, I won't be returning. In us I would have spent maybe 8 pounds In Japan I would have spent 4 pounds for the same things.

The food was great and initial service was fast with drinks, however very disappointed that we were a little neglected where we were sat. No staff member seemed to ever come over to the area we were sat and even when we tried to flag down a member of the team we were completely ignored, the waitress looked at us and then proceeded to just walk away and wipe menus. It took over 10 minutes of sitting and waiting to get someone to come over and talk to us to get the bill. It wasn't even that busy.

The food, like everywhere right now, is too expensive. What you can get for £20 in Japan is £100 at YO! Sushi. And to top it off they play terribly bad music, where they could be creating much more of an atmosphere by playing Japanese music instead. And they seem to have stopped selling Ramune soda - a lovely drink from Japan. Those negatives aside, the food is great and they offer a great selection across plant-based, meat and fish.

Food was lovely, the chefs did tremendously - but the service was bizarre! We finished our meals before we got our drinks - which we had to remind them twice about. We were randomly prodded with a card reader to pay - before we'd even received our final bits of sushi. The main server behaved in a really odd manner. It was claimed by the chap working the tables that student discount doesn't apply on weekends - which contradicts what is stated on the Unidays app. Love YO! Sushi, but wouldn't recommend this branch.

The ambience was absolutely stunning and the service was warm and attentive, the food unfortunately fell short of expectations. I ordered the ribeye with mashed potatoes, and while I was excited to dig in, the steak was burnt and dry, and the mashed potatoes lacked the creamy texture I was hoping for. It felt like the execution in the kitchen didn’t match the quality of the overall experience.

Came for my 49th birthday with my wife. Waiter was kind but got confused with our order. Mocktails were delicious. Menu reasonably priced. I ordered pigeon breast with polenta starter, and my wife ordered scallops. Neither were cooked properly, unfortunately I swallowed some raw bloody meat before realising. I felt sick within 5 minutes. We sent both dishes back, and I was so ill that we left before the main courses arrived. The manager came and fussed over us, and I saw another waiter's face when they saw what we'd been served, but it was too late. My birthday was ruined and I had severe nausea all evening. They didn't attempt to ask for payment. I leave this review not to warn you off, but to ensure the restaurant improves it's practices. It looked like we missed out on a lovely meal, and even good places get it wrong sometimes.
