The food was top-notch—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Every dish we tried was well-prepared and beautifully presented💕. I can tell they prioritize quality, and it really shows 🫶🏻. The taste of dishes went to peak of the level. I just loved it😍🤤😋. I highly recommend Restaurant 27 to have an awesome day with tastiest dishes.

Utilising reviews from past Michelin star restaurant to look good when in fact the food is inedible and service is shocking. Shouldn't be piggybacking on other restaurants work to get business....

We’ve been here today for the first time and i would say the food was amazing specially garlic prawns 🍤 also the salads and pizzas were delicious, Definitely we will come back next time when Weill be in the area . Thank you for your service!!!!

Just can’t explain how unsatisfied I was genuinely. Food was terrible. And when we had people throwing up they still wanted us to pay for the whole bill. Unbelievable! Just would never go here again. We tried celebrating birthday and it’s just wasn’t the place to go to. To be honest the place should be shut down.

The restaurant is called Restaurant 27 and ill give you 27 reasons why not to go to this restaurant. 1. we was not asked if anyone has allergies even though there was 2 people with allergies. 2. the staff did not know what we was asking for. 3. looked like the staff didn't even want to be there or serve us. 4. they got the order wrong and had to remake it. 5. took very long with bringing out the last dish while everyone was finish. 6.once started eating realized its was overcooked(pasta) 7. no seasoning at all on any food. 8.made several people throw up inside the restaurant and outside. 9. bad music. 10. toilets stunk badly. 11. couldn't even finish the meal. 12-27. told the man that we wasn't happy with the food are willing to pay for the drinks and not the food as it made a person sick they were saying no and then another 2 people threw up and still they wanted us to pay the whole bill even though we had 3 out of 8 people throw up from our group and had about another 2 people feel sick. After waiting about 30 minutes to see what the manager/boss was thinking they got us to pay for the drinks. Overall, not a happy experience would not suggest it at all. When we brought up health and safety they did not even know what that was. and how someone throwing up is not a health hazard of their food.

+ nice staff - undercooked pizza - sent back twice - food is not recommended - this is not authentic Italian - I am confused as to why they are using the Reviews from the previous Michelin Star restaurant to promote this.

Tasteless cuisine - Room staff absent - Poorly maintained environment - The cold room possible energy saving and heating - Distant car parks - The restaurant is hidden. Arrived with my partner from Fareham - The menu needs to be reviewed - It's unclear whether the cuisine is Indian with a Pakistani-Italian mix We were really disappointed - shame 😔 The restaurant a few years ago was run by Italians and we ate really well - I cannot recommend it - it would need a personality like a charismatic Italian waiter in the dining room to enhance the environment - and an Italian chef to give flavor to the dishes - which are poorly cared for .....

I visited this restaurant for a family meal and had a fantastic experience. The ambiance and overall environment were excellent, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The food was outstanding, everything from the starters to the pizzas and pasta was delicious. I particularly enjoyed the cheesy garlic bread and the Restaurant 27 Special pizza. The quality of the food, combined with its affordability, makes this place highly recommendable for anyone seeking a great dining experience.

We have dined at this new restaurant twice now and have thoroughly enjoyed our meal both times. We are particularly impressed at the freshness of the ingredients and the attentiveness of the lovely staff. We really hope it gets the success it deserves, we will definitely be back.

They are good. We ordered Frutti De Mare pizza on classic crust & creamy salmon pasta.It was absolutely bursting in flavours 👌👌and super yum🤤🤤🤤 I would definitely be visiting again to taste some other dishes they have on the menu.🥳

Not the same restaurant. They have changed hands and under new ownership and completely different. Pretending to be authentic Italian but clearly not Service is bad , it’s very bright and bland inside .

Only been twice had take away pizza very good the American Hot with jalapeno is very hot but very nice staff very helpful and friendly Next time I will sit in and try something different 👌

The restaurant was ridiculously bright, felt like I needed my sunglasses on! The starters were nice but the mains were bland and tasteless. I had the carbonara and the egg had solidified. The servers were very strange and scruffy. I wouldn’t recommend at all.

Restaurant has changed hands. Indolanka now trading on 27s reputation and not doing the previous owners any good at all. Choice of only 2 sides chips or coleslaw... Poor! Pizza was soggy. Fish ok. No atmosphere (probably as we were the only ones in). Room cold and long wait for food. Wine reasonably priced. Won't go back

Relaxing Place to Visit and Have Good Food and Drinks

This was for a pre-graduation dinner for the family, and having never had a taster menu we didn't really know what to expect. It was delicious, so many taster dishes, which didn't seem a lot at the time, but were so filling and made a great talking point. I would recommend this every time. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and made our evening most enjoyable. I was sorry to learn they are closing shortly, hopefully not permanently!

This by far was the best meal I have ever had, every course was an absolute delight. This was for my 50th birthday treat and I could not have asked for more. Staff were very attentive and the meal flowed brilliantly. This was our 1st time and sadly our last with it closing in a few weeks. So glad to have experienced the food.

Such an amazing restaurant, will be sad to see it close. There's nothing else quite like it in Portsmouth.

A wonderful place and very very good staff

What a fantastic little gem. Been a couple of times and the food is simply outstanding. Gutting that they will be moving on but thankful we had the chance to experience it. 7 courses, couple of bottles of bubbly, brilliant service. Spot on.

We had a lovely lunch here. The food was excellant, some ingrediants which I wouldn't normally say I like really taste delicious. The staff are great contributing to make it a lovely experience. A great shame they are closing their doors, a great loss for Southsea.

Fantastic restaurant, friendly, professional, top class food, wine, service. The spring tasting menu is delicious. We had such a gorgeous evening. I suggest you visit very soon as they are closing in August which is devastating, that’s why I returned as it’s soooo good. It will be missed in Southsea. It is the best restaurant around for sure. We managed to get a last-minute cancellation, and what a result that was. We had missed a few chances to visit this place previously, and I can comfortably say that the wait, well, patience is a virtue. We had specified a veggie menu and there was nothing to disappoint. The FLAVOURS and textures blend into the most heavenly delight, to tantalise every receptor of even the most decadent pallet. The wine pairing was exquisite and introduced in great detail. Speaking with the chef was a privilege to share our gratitude and understand how an artist of this calibre creates such mouth-watering moments of pure indulgence and bliss. This restaurant and its professional team hit every nail, home, first time. Thank you to you all that made our evening truly remarkable. We will see you again

What an incredible dining experience. Every single element of the 7 course tasting menu was exquisite, the wine flight was perfect and the service impeccable. Absolutely faultless all round. Can't stop thinking about it!!!

The restaurant had a lively and energetic atmosphere.

Absolutely love the food each time I come.. great staff too..I'm also gluten free and they never miss a BEAT when it comes to this.. honestly would come here all the time if I was local. We struggled to pick a favourite dish, pork belly, steak, risotto, cheeseboard, wine flight EVERYTHING WAS ON POINT.. also made a special effort for my birthday too which was very touching! Notes for Restaurant Designers; Interior design could be tweaked to elevate the experience, the gallery wall is a little dated red accents cheapens the restaurants vibe (sorry) although I love the sketches of the chefs on one of the walls.. interesting lights too, could possibly have slightly dimmer lighting in the restaurant and loos if I was being picky. These points aren't highly offensive but they do somewhat cheapen the experience when your food is next level amazing my guests were a bit like 'where have you taken us' when they initially walked though the door but you're food sure did do the talking

Lovely food, wonderful staff, relaxed atmosphere. What a treat to be able to visit Restaurant 27 again. If you are looking for that " Little Special place" look no further. No parking but after 6pm you can park along the seafront free. I was a little concerned that I might feel cold whilst in the restaurant but I didn't feel that at all. It was lovely and warm. Decorated lovely with Christmas bits.

Restaurant 27 is tucked away in a residential area and quite difficult to park as everyone goes home at night with their cars. But don't be put off, get a taxi or Uber as this place is worth a visit. What appears to be a very large drawing room has been converted to house this restaurant. Nicely decorated and tastefully finished. The tasting menu is the only option for Dinner. However it was indeed very good and varied in courses so do try it. Serving staff polite, attentive and efficient. Definitely worth a try and well worth its classification of "Fine Dining Restaurant "

Very lovely meal, I would recommend it if anyone wants to try something special. But not my type of food, even the finished dessert was still not filling. All come with very small portions

Restaurant 27 we can say with great confidence is the best restaurant in Hampshire and quite possibly beyond. The food is not only outstandingly delicious but its an experience and the courses made for you take you on a journey...its really quite something. We visited the restaurant quite a number of times now and not once have we been dissappointed. The staff are so lovely. Friday just gone we were at the restaurant and a new young trainee waiter served us ( actually it was his first day ) he was lovely and got everything right for us and it was lovely to see him being kindly guided by the restaurant owner. The pricing is very good too...we'd be happy to pay more. Its impeccably clean and the atmosphere is relaxing. I like a cocktail called a " Hemingway Daquiri"...my husband whenever he books lets them know thats what i enjoy and they make sure they have the ingredients in to make it for me. An amazing restaurant.

It was good - good food, good service and a good ambience. Not great, not amazing, not particularly inspired. Back in the day this restaurant seemed desperate for a Michelin star, now it seems happy enough just to be mentioned in the Guide. Still, probably the best in the city.

This is by far the best restaurant in Portsmouth. Expensive yes, but must be tried at least once. Looking forward to my next anniversary 😀

An absolutely superb dining experience from a food and drink perspective. We were a group of 6 with various dietary requirements which they managed to cover without any issue. It's rare for my wife (lactose intolerant vegetarian) to have a tasting menu where all of the courses are tasty and well thought out but it was managed on this occasion and she raved about everything. The "regular" tasting menu was also excellent. The staff are very friendly and on the whole seemed very efficient although the initial drinks ordering and final settling up was probably slower than we would normally expect. If you were there as a couple you might find the atmosphere slightly lacking but as a group of 6 we made our own.

Food = excellent. Definitely 1* sort of standard. Service = simarly so. Decor = err. Overall it was wonderful; head and shoulders above the next best in Portsmouth.

Visited Restaurant 27 for the first time last night with my daughter for her birthday. We were presented with an excellent sample menu and vast drink selection! Every dish was beautifully presented, fresh and tasted amazing!! Excellent service from arrival and throughout, staff were polite and extremely attentive. Atmosphere was relaxed and each course came out at a perfect pace. Will definitely visit again in the future! Would HIGHLY recommended!! Thank you to all at R27 for a lovely evening and for my daughter's token birthday gift, an unexpected, kind and thoughtful touch.

Some really good dishes, but a couple were mediocre tbh, so for instance one dish of the tasting menu was sun dried tomato & mozzarella, nice but hardly showcasing chefs skills. WHITE ONION & THYME VELOUTE WITH A CHARCOAL BREAD WAS EXCEPTIONAL 😋

Absolute quality - food, drinks & service.

Absolute top marks for the food. We had the tasting menu with wine pairing and every single dish was brilliant. The amuse-bouche in itself was an intriguing start to the subsequent delectable things to come. We thoroughly enjoyed all the courses. They changed the main to alternative ones to suit the dietary needs of some of us which was thoughtful. We came away hugely satisfied. Only a couple of suggestions: Some of the dishes were served in deep bowls and were awkward to get to with the cutlery. The service at times felt a bit rushed, albeit these are personal perceptions and others may prefer it that way. Either way we have booked in already to visit them again😊

Discrete and stylish restaurant for best fine dining experience in Portsmouth.

Arrived but no-one asked to take our coats till we hung them up close to to where we were sitting and then someone came to ask if they could take them . Feel we got the least good table in the house as it was by the entrance and close to the toilets(booked 3 weeks before) No blue sapphire gin but got hendrix . Food was lovely but would have liked more explanation about food sources ,how it was prepared and the best way to eat it . Overall it was good food , think they could improve on the service as above to create a better dining experience .

We had an absolutely delightful meal last week. The service and the food were fantastic. Being gluten free, I am always nervous because service staff have often given me gluten after 'forgetting'. R 27 were fantastic. Each dish they served was explained and I was reassured each time that it was GF. This meant a lot. It's the little things that made the evening so perfect. I loved the goose, which I thought I wouldn't, I adored the sea bass, 24hr slow cooked pork was insanely good. I look forward to returning as soon as I can.

We booked this well in advance, on arrival left standing there no one acknowledged us Eventually the Maitre De came over with all the personality of a funeral director! and said can I have a word and directed us to a corner out of the way of diners.( We couldn't think for the life of us what we had done!!) He said he had tried to ring us to confirm we were still coming!! WE HAD BOOKED ! Why did he need to ring us? He said they'd had a lot of no shows. ?? Our table had been given away!! but if we would like to have a drink first he would find us a table in 40 mins! When we said ok can we sit by the bar and wait we were told to go to the pub down the road!!The Florence Arms. Why we went back afterwards we still don't know! While we were in the pub he texted us ( On booking , to the question any allergies I said my husband is allergic to cream so no cream) he text to say is that hot cream or cold he's allergic to? WHAT ! NO CREAM I said . Silence came the reply! The Florence Arms gastro pub is worth a visit,with jolly helpful staff and food looked great. Why oh why did we go back to Restaurant 27 !!! Food while plenty of effort gone into it ,it was sickley with loads of cream in everything! Service from staff was good but dour as was the decor, no choice of menu you had what you were given! The evening was supposed to be a treat for my husbands birthday. We would never patronize this restaurant again.deffinately not worth the £150 spent.The Maitre Dr needs to go on a customer care course.My husband was ill all night and next day. ruined our day!

The restaurant was fully booked and busy on a Friday night, and despite the initial abruptness of our welcome and being pointed to our table, this is definitely worth a visit.The tasting menu has a range of delicious food, with the staff working hard throughout to ensure you are not sat waiting for too long in between courses. We did not opt for the wine pairings but would do on future visits.We left not feeling too full or hungry, which is often a sign of a balanced menu. Food quality is high.
