My go-to place for fish & chips in Bury St. Edmunds. If you choose to eat at the couple of tables indoors, or outdoors, youâll be served your meal on a china plate with metal cutlery. Consistently good and a lower price than some of the competition. Highly recommended!

Not impressed, person behind the counter was unfriendly, made it clear she didn't want to be there. Fish portion is small for the money, chips and curry sauce very bland. Customers that came in after me and were served by someone else got their food and left before me because the one who served me decided to stand chatting to another colleague instead of her job. Won't be back

Visit in around 2017-2018 1. Terrible service 2. Food that you can buy in shops such as products like Frys, they sell frozen products. I would rather go home and have it 3. Long wait 4. Unclean workers 5. Bland decor 6. The place has a ego about itâŠbut all I see is tack. Is this place closed down? I swear I heard it was. Iâm all for vegan places opening up. But this place is doing nothing good. Theyâre just rude and unfriendly

Very disappointing ...Owners of this business be aware! I am a frequent diner at your restaurant and has been my chosen fish and chip restaurant for my visiting family and friends on a regular basis, with the usual staff very helpful and accommodating. However on Saturday 12th April, late lunch time, I arrived with family (6 in total), The restaurant had 8 covers and the rest of the seats were empty. Two young ladies were stood chatting on entry, and I asked if we could have a table for 6. One young lady said " have you booked? I hadn't because I always call to book and I am always told " just come in, it's fine". One girl said, I need to check.she returned promptly saying " My Manager says "you will have to sit separately". I had a 4 children, aged 2, 7 9, , and 12, respectively. I said could two tables be put together as there is hardly anyone in, she said " No, my Manager said not, anyway a couple of tables haven't been cleaned!". We said thankyou and left! The 'Manager'..a dark haired gent was in the adjoining shop, so I explained, and he said " The problem is, we can't move tables as the floor is uneven." I explained that I dined here regularly, and the tables to the left are often accommodating larger groups, but the staff are just stood chatting, but can't change a table setting? Change of plan ...Blakeleys here we come! and a ÂŁ122 later, welcoming reception ( even though they had reservations and were busier), beautiful food, and staff absolutely on the ball. Sorry ..serious rant, because of lazy, staff and poor Management decisions on the day. You usually do so much better, and is usually managed better, by staff usual Manager. Improvement to attitude required.

Gone downhill. Had chip buckets a few times over the years but the last one we had at Aylsham lights was just a huge disappointment. ÂŁ28 for 4 people you would expect quality produce. Only difference between kids cheesy chips and adult one was seemingly a bit of parsley on top, but a price difference of whopping ÂŁ4. Cheese not melted, just pre-grated flavourless cheese dumped on the top of frozen chips. I had the winter warmer and the sausage tasted undercooked and I had a stomach ache for the rest of the evening. Overpriced, overmarketed, doesn't look anything like the photos on social media. Customer service wasn't great either, grumpy faces, no smiles.

We went here to grab a quick lunch after checking the allergen menu. Almost everything is marked as having gluten in but several are marked to say that the gluten can be "removed", meaning swapping out the bun for a gluten free bun. When we went to order and filtered by gluten free, no options came up. When I queried this I was told that they weren't actually gf because some of the ingredients still had gluten in. I queried this because I assumed those are ones without a note they can be removed. He then proceeded to say that they could do a gf bun but you can't order it and they don't recommend that you do. He then proceeded to mansplain cross contamination - pretty sure the people with the intolerance are going to know what that is... In the end we left without ordering. He told me he was trying to help me, he wasn't. I did tell him that. Anyway don't go, the staff are rude and the allergy menu is just a con đ
