The best restaurants serving Fast food food in East of England

UK fish bar has gone downhill of late, used to be really good here, but prices have shot up, £27.50 for 2 portions of cod & chips!! Will only consider eating here as a special treat in future, no longer viable to eat here very often, same for all chippies in Witham really. NB dont use the food delivery companys, they will charge you an extra £5 at least, even this shops own website gives you 10% off your order, but the prices are up 10% already!

I've never eaten a real British Fish & Chips, so I find it acceptable. Maybe it's just the typical Brits bland food. But the curry sauce is super nice, the fish is fresh, no funny smell, and they fry it nice and crispy... Which is a plus.

Ordered from here tonight as for some reason the wife likes it even though the food has been really bland recently. Missed some of our order then thought it was perfectly acceptable to deliver everyone else's food first rather than fulfilling ours. Lad on phone had terrible attitude. Place has gone massively downhill over the years, and isn't a patch on others in the town

It's called the "chippy" but iv just bought the worst chips of my life lol. Rock solid and raw. Can't comment on the other food because I only bought chips.

We always pop in when we're passing even if we're not hungry and have always been impressed.

Waited about 20 minutes to get a portion of fish and chips this evening. I've recently moved back to the area having lived in Brundall as a teenager. The fish and chips here used to be excellent. I'm guessing it's changed hands as the shop looked dilapidated, signs for cash only everywhere which just looked tacky and crass and after the long wait the fish was burned, as in the batter was black on the outside, I've never seen that before in my life. I even worked in a chippy for years as a teenager and never once saw burnt batter. That's my first and last trip in a long time I think.

1st time eating here, food was really nice, 8 of us ate and we all liked it, we will be coming back, the only downside was the gaint divide they have in the shop..

Very disappointing. No pancakes one time we visited. Next time, no syrup. I asked if I could have a few beans with my American breakfast, to makeup for there being no syrup. "NO" there is no alternative given . But you pay the same price. Managers don't work breakfasts. 🤔 I wonder why? And weatherspoons complains process is a joke. We use to meet regularly with friends. Never more. Tobys it is from now on.

I’m very upset as I went here on Saturday 28th of September 2024 and ordered a six inch sub with chicken lettuce mayo cucumber bell peppers and sweetcorn and that same night threw up and the next day I had sickness and diarrhoea which is a shame as this is my only local subway I’m very disappointed as it was my weekend takeaway and costed £6.25 just for some stomach bug 0/10 wouldn’t recommend to anyone

Awful experience. Was filthy. Food was awful. Rude staff, two people who I suspect were on drugs were passed out asleep in the seating area with children around. Will never go back here
