unfortunately delivery was 30 mins late, which obviously effects the quality! chips were barely warm and fish was soggy!

very late delivery of food and then food quality of fish not as described. medium cod was definitely small

Ordered 2 hours in advance, requesting a 19:30 delivery time, and it arrived 30 minutes late. Had to call to chase up and they said it was in its way without asking any details about the order.

Food was mushy, dry and cold like it had been sat around for a while, was quite greasy and also said it had been delivered on the app however it wasn’t actually delivered for another 25 minutes

Once arrived the chips tasted stale. And the battered sausages we found them greasy. Kids fish fingers were also over cooked and found them hard .

Fish was really delicious. I NEVER eat the batter on fish - however it was really good and I actually enjoyed it.

Order was missing The Ickled Egg and Gerkin. Only a couple of pound but still spoiled our meals. Won't be using them again.

I get this for my elderly mother just one street away, she won’t answer the door. I’m busy so timing is important. Repeatedly it’s way early and the app is not updated. It doesn’t even say preparing and it’s at the door. Except if I arrive early, and then it’s later. The company does update the app like most others do.

Dined in for our 6 monthly cod and chips. Chips fluffy good medium portions, cod was freshly chunky cooked with light batter not oily, service with a smile. Much appreciated would highly recommend.🙏

ordered tonight and the food delivered wasn't the same as our normal Mermaid order. there was no boxes, and the batter wasn't the same it was just a typical fish and chips which we've never known them to do before. slightly confused as it was so different and didn't come in the normal Mermaid bag

Was not happy with the haddock it was in 2 pieces but only one was edible

After receiving an estimated time of an hour for delivery (which is expected on a Friday) the order proceeded to go past that time by half an hour. Tried calling the restaurant and ask about my delivery and all I got was a confused person on the phone and then someone else who said they’ve just sent it out. As I started to complain and express my frustration the restaurant was very rude in response and hung up on me. I then tried calling back to ask for an explanation and they hung up again

had to call restaurant to see where order was got told "they were busy" , food was then sent , over cooked chips and Luke warm. going to find a new go to local chippy .

Over an hour late, rang twice second time they said the driver had just returned and questioned whether I had the food or not, but we still had no food. Not impressed.

Portion sizes were huge, particularly on kids meal. Fish was a bit overcooked and we were not keen on the chemical aftertaste of the oil used for frying. My daughter liked the bag they were delivered in.

We are in the area for a weekend break got told by my family no cooking read reviews for this fish and chip shop online they were all mainly good pulling up outside it looked empty one down the road was really busy so glad we went to this one best fish and chips and sausage and chips meal we have had for a long time we will be back when in the area

Lovely chips, not greasy, and fish cooked to perfection. The side dishes of curry sauce and beans were decent portions too, not your usual tiny sample pot size. So great food and friendly service.

Fantastic fish and chips! Cooked to order and absolutely delicious. 2 cod and chips, 2 drinks also curry sauce and peas for £18. Good portion size too and friendly efficient service:)
