We called in for a late lunch and were lucky enough to get a table straight away. There was a warm welcoming atmosphere and staff were friendly and efficient. We ordered a selection of tapas which were all excellent and portion sizes were just right. Good value for money and would highly recommend.

My husband has lots of restrictions on his diet and the staff at the Yorkshire Tea Rooms were just so helpful! We went with a friend and he and my husband both had omelettes - whilst I had a ciabatta with mediterranean vegetables. All were delicious and our friend actually said his mushroom omelette was the best he could remember having! All were accompanied by a lovely fresh salad. I can't fault the food or the service. Lovely 'home made' food - we'll be back!

A wonderful find. Spotlessly clean, very good range of food priced appropriately. The spinach, spiced cauliflower & lentil pie was delicious. Staff cheerful and friendly. Lovely original decor with good attention to detail ( there were scissors provided at the table to cut the individual condiment satchets).

Fabulous cafe with friendly staff, a lovely atmosphere and really tasty food. Lots of options, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free. Everything is made fresh and it really shows in the taste. Dog friendly as well, which is always a bonus. Will come back for sure!

Absolutely amazing place! Ordered the OG dog meal, 8inch hot dog with onions, mustard and ketchup in a really soft white sub roll with hand cut triple cooked chips which are unbelievably good! And a complimentary cup of coffee all for £6.50, bargain! Very very clean kitchen 👌 the staff here are so friendly and make you feel at home! highly recommended

It's only small but a lovely restaurant so best to book. Pleased to see that it doesn't pretend to be Indiian as so many non Indian restaurants do. Being Bangladeshi we knew that it would be halal which we don't eat, however there were enough vegetable and prawn dishes for us to choose from. The food was superb and the lady we spoke to was very friendly explaining to us their use of spices in the dishes.

We visited this restaurant after spending most of the day at a car meet-up at Grantley Hall, having travelled from London. I had done some research beforehand and chose this spot based on the strong reviews—and for the most part, it lived up to the hype. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by our waiter Olivia, who was friendly, attentive, and really made us feel looked after throughout the evening. With big appetites, we kicked off with three starters: 1. Pork skewers – Small portions and the meat lacked standout flavour. I wouldn’t recommend this dish. 2. Calamari – Unfortunately, this was quite tough. The batter was thin and underwhelming in taste. 3. Meatballs – Nicely flavoured and enjoyable, though again, the portion size was on the smaller side. While the starters didn’t quite meet our expectations, things took a dramatic turn for the better with the main course. I ordered the lasagna, which Olivia had confidently recommended—and it absolutely delivered. It was piping hot, with a perfect crispy exterior and a soft, rich interior. Every bite was packed with flavour and clearly prepared with care. Hands down, the best lasagna I’ve had in a long time—highly recommended! For dessert, I went with the Baileys chocolate ganache, and it was another winner—smooth, indulgent, and perfectly balanced in flavour. Service from Olivia was top-notch—genuinely one of the highlights of the evening. Final thoughts: Skip the starters and go straight for the mains and desserts. The lasagna alone is worth the visit. A lovely experience overall. Best regards, FERRARI Matty

Lovely, friendly, lively atmosphere. A good range of cask ales available and pleased to see a couple of stouts on which we're excellent.

What a gem!!!!! What a delightful dining experience in a vibrant but chilled restaurant. Starters we had were Garlic mushroom and Goats cheese with black pudding. Mains We had Carbonara and haddock and prawn risotto all were amazing. The staff were friendly and welcoming and very knowledgeable. We would highly recommend dining at Portofino.

We booked this restaurant over 4 months ago, only to turn up to find that it was closed!!!!! We had over an hours drive to the restaurant, as it had been recommended. The booking was for a special occasion, celebrating a friends birthday. We received notification of the booking from the booking agent the evening before as well as on the morning of the lunch booking, so there was no notification saying that the restaurant was closed. When we arrived there was a printed note on the door saying that there was a problem with the roof so it was going to be closed for a short while. There was no evidence of any building work and the tables were still set up for dining, so it seemed a very strange situation. I telephoned the restaurant and the call was transferred to an answer machine. I have still not received any feedback, which is very rude, All pre-booked diners should have been notified of the closure, as this is the only polite way to explain the situation. I have also checked the restaurant website (as I was planning to Email), and the website domain is no longer available. I can only assume that the restaurant is now permanently closed. Very unprofessional and rude!!
