Super romantic quaint tapas bar! Thank god we stopped here on the way back from Grantley Hall and that they served us even though we showed up 10 mins before they ended service. I recommend sitting in the garden and enjoying the beef brisket. Thank you and we can’t wait to come back:)

Delicious tapas with excellent service. Had 3 dishes per person, as recommended, and this was plenty for us. All dishes were flavoursome and fresh. The crab nachos were a particular favourite. Look forward to visiting again.

Delightful lunch experience. Very welcoming host who really knew the wine and food menus and advised perfectly on choices. The crab nacho was awesome, as were the bravas, tapenade, mushroom, lamb, empananda, croquettas, bread, olives. We were too full to sample a paella or one of the special dishes on offer. Locally sourced ingredients including the salad leaves, great selection of drinks including non alcoholic, and delicious taster of a pedro ximenez to end (plus truffles 😌). We can't wait to return. Wish I could eat here every day!!! Had a lovely evening for my mums birthday meal, the staff even gave her a couple of little extra treats, which was really appreciated. The food is so fresh and tasty, good selection and size of portion. Great wine selection too. Will be back soon!

Me and my companion visited this place for new year. Great menu, friendly and relaxed service, intimate venue without being cramped. Nicely done!

We were recommended to visit Manchega by my brother who is a proper foodie, and it did not disappoint. We were told they were serving their festive menu, which I was at first a bit put out by as I wanted 'proper tapas', however the choice on the menu was varied and exciting. They also had a variety of platters available and paellas. We opted for the croquettas, crab nachos and harrisa turkey pinchos. The dishes came when they were ready which is how I enjoy tapas. The croquettas were excellent, perfectly cooked, melt in the mouth and full of flavour. Crab nachos were also excellent and something completely different. However the harissa turkey pinchos were truely exceptional, who knew turkey could taste this good, the meat was moist, full of flavour and you could really taste the charcoal flavour which I loved. Wish we had ordered more. Service was warm and welcoming, with a good selection of drinks and cocktails on offer but the real standout was the food concocted by a really talented Chef. This slightly unassuming place has acquired a chef who has worked in several well known foodie establishments (three chimneys, skye and samuels at swinton) and that is absolutely apparent in the flavours and quality of his dishes. Please go, you won't be disappointed. Excellent value for money and first class food. We will definitely return again.

This is a lovely little location tucked away in the heart of Ripon. The food was lovely, the service was really good and the staff were very friendly. The place has so much character as well. We’ll definitely be going again soon.

A wonderful evening spent here; the food was superb with some lovely tapas dishes followed by an amazing paella...lovely " background" music so that it enabled conversation. Some gr8 interaction also with very attentive staff. Lovely evening all round.

Fab little place! Delish tapas, so hot and freshly prepared. All good, but my standout dish was the pork pinchos! A shared crema catalana was a superb way to end the meal, plus the complementary shot of Pedro Ximenez! Yes!

Amazing little tapas bar in Ripon. Lovely food and a cosy atmosphere, the waitresses all appear to be about 13 and get a bit muddled at times, but we've all got to learn 🤣

Really enjoyed our experience at Manchega, the restaurant is really cosy with a great atmosphere, the owner is fantastic, makes you feel very welcome. Food was really tasty and some great options. My only feedback is the dishes were very expensive for tapas.

Phenomenal food and always a treat to have a meal at Manchega! Richard is wonderful along with every member of staff who makes you feel welcomed as soon as you step through the door. So many amazing tapas to pick from but patatas bravas and prawn fitters are two can’t miss items from the menu. Looking forward to my next trip!

Fab food, service and atmosphere would recommend a visit

Visited a few weeks ago now, overall was a very pleasant experience. The service was great only not been put as a 5 star because after we had received all of our food we were missing 2 of our dishes I had noticed 1 and the staff did cook it but when looking through the bill I noticed another but was too full so wasn't really to bothered. The food was too rich and oily fory liking but wasn't unpleasant just not to my taste personally. Just a side not the A-boards were in the door entrance when we arrived which made it awkward to enter the venue not sure if this is a regular occurrence.

Best place to eat in Ripon in my opinion. Been again tonight and just as good as the first time we went x thank you. Well worth every penny.

We sat upstairs, it was quite empty and we still had to wait a long time for service. Unfortunately, at 8 p.m. 4 or 5 of the tapas on offer, as well as the drink we wanted, were sold out, so we were disappointed. We told the service that too. What we could order was good, but the combination was no longer suitable.

Me and my wife Julie went here Thursday 20th. And met two wonderful people. What makes this excellent lovely little Tapas Restaurant is the wonderful greeting you get from; Ricardo ( The Host ) & Chris. ( The Chef ) Well done for warm welcome you give us. Secondly The food was amazing, and so delicious. I’m sure all you wonderful people out there that have an aching to long to be on the Spanish coast looking over that turquoise water, eating the Spanish Tapas and sharing a glass of nice cold wine. Ok we might not have the turquoise water, on our door steps but the Tapas is here. Try this place i promise you won’t be disappointed. Thank you Ricardo & Chris. Music fantastic too.

A jewel in Ripon. A Mediterranean ambience with great music. Popped in for lunch tapas. A wonderful welcome from Richard and tremendous food from Chris. Will definitely be back, thank you so much.

Well worth a visit. Great food, great host, overall a great experience. We had the lunch time deal and every dish was great. We were a group of 4, 2 couples, both our husbands had not been looking forward to this meal, but both changed their minds after eating there. Would definitely eat there again.

Tapas int’ garden Sat in the garden and had some 5 star food & drink, Ripon is lucky to have such a place. Prawn fritters - fresh, light, perfectly seasoned. Yum. Chorizo always a favourite for the heartburn later. Surf & turf Hake Then the food coma & delicious spicy Malbec kicked in so no more pics These guys know what they are doing, lovely friendly service even from the youngsters with a happy smiling face.

This was the best meal I have ever eaten in all 39 years of my life. Come here, don’t think about it, just come. Now.

Just back home in Ripon after a few days in Barcelona and strolled into town before my friend headed home. I wasn't sure it would be open but Manchega Tapas Y Vinos was the perfect place to finish our Spanish break. We weren't disappointed and the tapas here was so much tastier and better than anything we'd had in Barcelona. Nice one Manchega!

Can’t fault this great restaurant. Visited on a Saturday evening and got tasty, speedy tapas with great wines and service in a hospitable atmosphere.

What a fantastic tapas ... we had 8 different dishes and they were all so good ... the hake was so good the chicken skewers and dates wrapped in bacon like pigs in blankets but on another level ... had a lovely chat with the owner who was super nice, and if and when I'm in the area next I will definitely being heading back for more great tasting food .... highly recomend if your looking for a good place to eat and good selections of drinks too

Visited here with family, including tow kids, so a rather large group. We all had a very good meal, with almost all the dishes being good quality. We asked for a milder version of a mushroom dish, for one of the kids, but it came with full spicy effect, a little disappointing. The final total bill was reasonable, to say we all left well fed. Would recommend.

Me and my partner look for Tapas every tip away we have. We have had a place in Scarborough hard to beat for a long time, but we agree Manchega has topped it! Absolutely gorgeous food, we would love to know where they get their Olives! Chorizo was the best We've ever had, another level good! And every staff member were an absolute dream, service and efficiency spot on. We plan to bring friends very soon. Thank you for making a wonderful night away that bit extra!

I booked a table for 8.15 Saturday 1sr April. We arrived 5 minutes early, to be told they were running late. It was suggested we go for a drink at the pub opposite to wait for our table. 3 hours later we are still waiting! You should have told us you were in a muddle and could not accommodate our booking rather than leave us hanging! Dreadful experience especially as having driven 4 hours and a treat for my partners birthday!

Gorgeous tapas and great service as always at Manchega last night. We're so lucky to have this gem in Ripon. It really is one of a kind, my favourite place to eat out in a city that has a number of great restaurants.

Paid 95 quid for a few cocktail sausages and abit of chicken on a stick, food was nice but definitely not worth 85 quid absolute joke

Not what we expected. First in the restaurant. Service fairly slow. Prices did not reflect those on the website. We were overcharged for 1 item by 60%. . Overall would nor return.

Nice little place with very attentive staff.. Plenty of choice on the menu. Only quibble server's were a little to quick to take plates away, the one time when I was still eating..and the other when I stood up to let my partner through to go to the bathroom..( we did felt we were being rushed so decided to have pudding elsewhere) Also asked for a ginger ale and was brought a ginger beer these are two different drinks .

My friend and I visited last night for a new years get together and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! The little plates came very quickly after ordering and the staff were attentive and friendly. There were lots of vegetarian options to choose from which I was very happy to see. We polished the whole of the 5 dishes off with a litre of yummy sangria! Would definitely visit again.

I have known about Manchega for some time but never visited. The question I have after eating there last night is why did I leave it so long? We had a tapas extravaganza. We did not mean to order and eat as much but we just wanted to try things on the menu. We absolutely loved it. The setting is not obvious from the outside, is Spanish rustic quaint inside, quite small but this adds to its charm and relaxed atmosphere. The staff are fantastic AND the food amazingly tasty. Some good Albariño wine for us and our night was complete. 2 hours of relaxed dining. You might guess we strongly recommend it - don’t leave it so long!

A mixed review really; the place is nice and quaint with sangria and tinto de verano which you don’t often get in English tapas places. There are some authentic tapas dishes on the menu and some of them were delicious such as the patatas bravas and the mushrooms However, there are hardly any veggie options which wasn’t the best when I was with a veggie friend. I would have to say I was also disappointed with the only meat dish I chose, the chicken which just tasted burnt and of nothing else. The service was friendly enough though really slow, we had to ask for the bill four times! Though this does add to the Spanish feel.

Stopped by tonight and would rank this in our top 3 tapas restaurants out of the dozens we've been to around the UK and even Spain. The food really was fine dining. Proper high end tapas with real attention to detail, and an incredible mix of flavours. The staff were lovely and went to great lengths to look after us and get to know us a little once we'd had a little vino! Prices slightly above average, which is way below what you should be paying for fine dining like this. We will definitely be back again. Thanks folks!

Spontaneously asked if they had a table free on a Saturday night... they were pretty fully booked but they found us a little spot for two.. the food was awesome, quick and delicious... but the staff were fun, playful and enchanting... enriching our evening beyond measure. Wine was lush too and so inexpensive for a restaurant of this quality which made buying a bottle so much fun.. it was good wine too. Oh did I say the food was delicious? Because it was all so bloody yum and fun fun fun... great night.. thank you so much for squeezing my daughter Amber and I in, we had a truly lovely evening ...even better than staying home a drinking cocktails ;p

The main chap who runs it is probably best described as a ‘character’ and was very apologetic over our booking which they didn’t seem to have, despite us making it over the phone less than 2 hours earlier. We were shown to the patio area and had to more or less configure our own table and chairs - there were 4 of us, so hardly difficult to accommodate. Then we were left to ourselves without menus and after 10 minutes sitting there had to ask to see some and order drinks. Fortunately, once we’d sorted ourselves out the food was good and my (adult) kids swear the olives are the best they’ve ever tasted.
