I keep coming back and giving the chippy another chance but no more I arrived 1720 ordered fish and chips twice On opening the food not 10 minutes later as I only live 2 miles away The chips weren’t just cold they were hard , probably meant re cooked chips and no way was the fish freshly cooked. It was dry and soggy. Enough , there are so many chip shops in Ripon not all can be as bad as this one. Never again

We enjoyed a lovely meal here. The garlic bread starter was very good. It was freshly made, and the herbs were so good. I had chicken in a creamy mushroom sauce, which was very tasty. My husband enjoyed spaghetti carbonara, and my daughter chose chicken Diavola. All were fantastic. We would definitely recommend this restaurant. The restaurant is dog friendly, which was another bonus.

We have been regular visitors to the Moti Raj for the past ten tears and thought it worthwhile to at last write a review The food has always been delicious, cooked to the highest quality and is delivered to the table piping hot and fresh. Hot plates are always provided. Malik and his staff are very personable and always provide an excellent service. There is no demand for your table and the food is delivered to your speed. Highly recommended!

Nice restaurant Very busy. Menu has a large selection of apparent traditional Italian dishes with a few other cuisines also represented on the menu. We both went for the half and half (half pizza half pasta) these were still large portions. One interesting thing to note were the spring onions in both the carbonara and the pasta Alfredo. Not an ingredient we have had in Italian pastas before.

We visited here today for Sunday lunch with a large group of our family. I am afraid to say it was one of the worst Sunday lunches we have had, mediocre at best. At £20 for beef main and £16 for pork and chicken I think the prices are extremely inflated for the quality served. I had roast chicken, I was served a Chicken drumstick, and one small slice from a breast, the skin was soggy and slimey, no crispness - like it has been only just roasted in lots of fat (I was expecting a nice full Chicken breast) we all had one small carrot stick, one parsnip stick a floret of cauliflower and 1-1/2 roast potatoes- a very small cold dollop of mash(smash) the Yorkshire was the only saving grace. My daughter ordered the Cumberland sausage, with mash and veg. Due to the large group my daughter only got her dinner as we were finishing ours, at least 10-15 minutes after the first main, she got 2 Cumberland breakfast sausages and very small cold dollop of mash and 2 carrots (we were expecting a Cumberland ring??) she can home still hungry. Numerous people were still waiting an age for their meals. We didn’t get any green veg as advertised- I asked another table for some of theirs, I was passed a dish of cabbage and a few green beans with an inch of water in the bottom. Very very disappointing. The puddings were served, (we had no cutlery, had to ask after it was delivered) Eton Mess with no meringue 🫣 dry sponge, sticky toffee and brownie as hard as nails. Again so disappointed. The young ladies waiting on were very polite but not trained to wait on with interest, no courtesy checks, no apologies. My nan had paid for the entire groups meal before I had finished the pud, I had every intention to complain but didn’t feel I could as she paid and had included the 10% service charge, sorry but I wouldn’t have tipped 🙁

What a great experience! We had read that The Old Deanery had been taken over recently, and seen the reviews so decided to go for dinner, bed and breakfast with two friends. Anyone expecting the interior of the place to look like something out of Country Life please remember - it's an amazing Jacobean mansion literally next door to Ripon Cathedral, dating from the early 17th century with quirky staircases, beautiful light-filled rooms, friendly staff and comfy leather sofas. We had the 9 course taster menu created by Adam Jackson - a work of art to look at and then to taste. It was particularly special to get to chat to Adam as he finished putting the final touches to the first course. Breakfast was 'de-constructed' and made up of traditional English breakfast ingredients - a great way to start the day.

We came here for lunch as we had come before and enjoyed it and we were not disappointed. The staff were very pleasant and we didn't have to wait long at all for our food. We ordered the lunchtime deal and the Korean chicken burger, and we would recommend both. The burger was a good size, not too big and not too small, the chicken was delicious and crispy, and the sauce was great. The lunchtime soup was tasty and a good temperature, and the panini and soup went well together. To sum up, we had a pleasant experience and we will eat here again.

Come to this cafe if you enjoy being ignored - went to buy some cakes and drinks and waited whilst other people were served ahead of us even if they came in after us - staff were rude and dismissive don’t waste your money. I walk out after waiting over 25 minutes to be served. It also wasn’t busy when this happened as only one couple was sat outside perhaps this was due to the poor customer service

When I was told I was not allowed to bring my puppy into Greg’s ( which I completely understand) but with all the dognapping, I didn’t want to leave him outside. Doris brought my food to me and took the payment. I cannot thank you enough for how kind you were, it was very appreciated!
