Taste in Harrogate

Super friendly staff, loads vegan options, we had vegan munchie boxes & honey sesame mock duck, super tasty, would definitely recommend it 😍😍

We had our first Taste last night and it was absolutely delicious, couldn’t fault it- our dishes were full of flavour without artificial tastes and tons of salt which is my memory of Chinese take aways in the past. We ordered our ‘go to’ dishes and also asked the owner to recommend a couple of different ones-her recommendations were spot on and I now have a new favourite dish!! 10/10 from us!

I do not usually make reviews but am compelled to on this occasion. I simply cannot agree with most of the reviews on here. We visited here for the first time earlier this week as our usual choices were closed. 'Taste' is against the Trades Description Act! Both meals were the most tasteless Chinese takeaways we have ever tasted! Service was good, atmosphere, for a Takeaway, was ok but food Tasteless! Cannot recommend and will certainly not be visiting again.

haven't had a Chinese takeaway in years since being diagnosed coeliac. ordered one tonight from here the noodle and rice box's are awesome! 👌 also black bean sauce is really nice and the crispy seaweed I can't stop eating its lush! it's been over 2 hours and no reactions so safe for coeliacs 👍👍👍 will definitely be ordering again!

My regular Chinese was closed so gave Taste a try. The food is probably the nicest Chinese takeaway I've had. They do not use MSG which is great and the rice sprinkled out onto the plate not one big blob. We were all very happy with our meal and the free extra was a nice touch. The service was pleasant and ready in a timely fashion. Would definitely recommend. Our new favourite, thank you.

Ordered a delivery on a bank holiday and it arrived in under an hour. My meal was delicious as was my partners meal which was gluten free. It’s so hard to get decent gluten free Chinese food but this place was spot on!

Every time we have had a takeaway from Taste is has been exceptional. Quantity is great, quality is amazing and the taste is top notch. Best Chinese Takeaway in our experience.

Every week we get a take-out from a Chinese. Because I'm gluten free, I sometimes get Peking Crispy Duck without the pancakes and the sauce. Normally I ask for just the crispy duck with a little rice, instead of the other stuff that normally comes with it. This is the only take out that's refused this, even though we have used this take-out many times for different dishes, including GF for myself, but if a little plain rice, instead of pancakes + is too much to ask for, we, on principle, will just use a different take-out.

Ordered a takeaway last night for the first time .. staff very friendly .. the food was amazing .. will defo be eating here again many times in the future

Best Chinese ever Will not go to another Chinese apart from Taste !! Absolutely love it is the best one I've had in a very long time.food doesn't sit heavy in your stomach and food is always freshly cooked. You get exactly what you pay for and the people who work there so so helpful . Every time I go in they know exactly what I want without me even asking.

This is the worst meal we have ever received from a takeaway restaurant, its such a shame as the menu is full of choice & the reviews were very good. The food was over salted for some dishes, bland dishes for some of our party. The vegan meal my friend received gave her a stomach ache very quickly after eating it, we had so much food waste, it was upsetting. The meal for 4 adults & 2 children was nearly £90 and the majority of it was thrown in the bin. Very very disappointing.

We visited taste as we were passing and it was the best menu! Food was very fresh, full of flavour, great quality and all round amazing! We are not from the area however will definitely be making a trip just for another takeaway! Couldn’t recommend more! Best Chinese we have ever tasted!

Received a friendly welcome from the lady on the till who gave advice on the menu and tips on dishes. She even checked with the manager who came out of the kitchen to clarity a dish met my requirements for allergies. Another wonderful family meal from Taste. The staff were very friendly and helped my youngest Son with his order. The food was beautiful, we will be back again in June with friends to try out some of the Thai dishes. Thanks John

Love Taste, we often pop in the store for a takeaway, but tonight we fancied a delivery, Was advised on the phone it would be within the hour, turned up 20 minutes later! Fab service, food piping hot, lovely staff, and sooooo tasty! Best takeaway in Ripon by far!

I have ordered so many time from Taste Chinese Ripon and every single time it’s absolutely spot on! There are so many vegan options and all the ingredients are always so fresh and tasty! Me and my family love everything we have ordered and definitely will recommend to all our family and friends 😊😊

I have lived in Ripon for 3 years now tried every other chinese and nothing compares to taste delicious food, lots of gluten free and vegan options and lovely customer service. Highly recommend it to anyone 🙂🙂 x

Lovely takeaway meal tonight. Shared starter prawn toast chicken satay skewer seaweed prawn toast and a butterfly Then could only manage 1/3 of my main dish. Thai green curry. But the left overs will keep for a yummy lunch tomorrow. Waste not !

Great takeaway food was freshly cooked and stayed hot.The best Chinese in Ripon is wasn’t greasy at all and lived up to its name ‘taste’ very tasty indeed !! Will definitely use again

Although the food was OK it does make it painful to have to go to the cash machine to pay, the only reason anyone has cash only policy is either ignorance of business or the avoidance of being accountable. What is saved in card fees...

Just collected my takeaway only to be told at the point of sale that they are cash only. After highlighting that it would have been courteous to have been told this prior to the point of payment I was told by the front of house...

During lockdown we are having a takeaway a week and last we'll I went to taste. Service was amazing and my food was ready in 15 mins. They have so many great veggie and gluten free options it was a real treat! Looking forward to...

Excellent customer service and the food was wonderful. Portion sizes are big. Squid cooked perfectly, the beef curry was to die for and the chicken batter balls are enormous! We will deffinately be back thank you. Sorry I didn't take any pictures it was just too yummy.

Have been using this takeaway regularly as it really is the best in ripon, food is always lovely (there has been mistakes a few times with meals missing but this has always been rectified straight away) the 2 girls I have seen on the desk are the most helpful and friendliest however the staff in the kitchen need to keep there voices down and not have arguments and certainly not swear when there are customers in the shop. Also the Chinese lady who I can only presume is the manager (apologies if not) your customer skills are shocking and the way you speak to other members of staff appalling. I would have loved to have given a 5 star rating as everything else is perfect and we love the fact that you offer so many gluten free meals for our daughter so she can enjoy Chinese food to. Ordered a takeaway for delivery from here at 6.20pm on a Saturday evening. We were expecting a wait under the current climate but were never informed of a time it would be ready by. After 90 minutes we called to see where it he food was. We were told 30 minutes away.Still didn’t arrive by 8.35pm which was another 45 minutes so we enquired for the third time on whereabouts and on 3rd call cancelled as the girl was extremely rude. Will never order from here again. Shame as the food is nice.

It's worth my drive from Harrogate to Ripon and back just for their takeaway.I'm vegetarian (not vegan), and their Mock Duck and Mock Pork choices are what drew me in.I've been back several times now, and the food has been consistently scrummy.If you're vegetarian and like reasonably priced and quickly served Chinese takeaway, this is the best place in a 50 mile radius that I've found thus far.Every dish I've had from them has been delicious - never a disappointment.Fast in, fast out, and the woman at the till is very kind.

Really recommend the spring rolls! Absolutely beautiful. You can tell there has been skill that's gone into these meals- loved the salt n pepper chips too. The only thing I'd say is that the staff need to be a bit kinder to eachother, I know it's a tough time at the moment but be kind especially in these times. It's amazing you guys do vegetarian and vegan options too as this helps cater for more people so thank you for being awesome! Definitely would return but please please just be a bit kinder to eachother- especially in front of customers❤️

Ordered a takeaway at weekend after seeing they had vegan options. We ordered Quorn balls and they were amazing! Everything was hot and tasted fresh, not dry. And to top it off we got free spring rolls! Really impressed with quality and flavour. Would highly recommend and can't wait to try more dishes

If you like eating at Bambudda, which I do, then you are able to buy the same dishes in takeaway form from Taste. Delicious! .

Grey Chicken. Salt and pepper Chicken wings smelt off. Sweet and Sour Balls were revolting. One of us who eats anything was sick. Been here a few times but won’t be returning.

Mixture of Chinese,Thai and Malay dishes. Use as little sugar and fat as possible. Good flavours. Sometimes have longish wait if busy.

This is a takeaway that belongs to the same chain as a Chinese restaurant near to the Cathedral. The food is good, and some really different Chinese dishes, not to be found on some other menus. There is a lot of (chilli) hot stuff, so be careful what you order. But otherwise, it is great.

Fab food, the best tasting Chinese. Wouldn’t go anywhere else and plenty to share, highly recommended!!

Every time I have a takeaway, I instantly have it from here literally the best meal I’ve had and always is served with the best quality and standards. The desk is always helpful and friendly and the food is ready quickly. Recommend anything with OK sauce and salt and pepper chicken is to die for.

Decided to try this place because our usual place (next door) was closed. We were a little unsure about the menu, but on the front it says "we will explain it too you". When asked to explain what I considered ordering, I was greeted with "I don' know, I have never tasted it". So I asked what type of sauce it was? Same answer! When I pointed out the statement on the front of the menu, I was told I was being rude. After being told this several times, I walked out and went to the Double Luck just down the road.

Tasty Chinese food at a reasonable price easily the best Chinese takeaway in Ripon. Only downside is they don't deliver, and as none do in Ripon, they are missing a trick.

Had a takeaway after seeing some great reviews we got a big box meal to share with the family. It was just bland. Not much flavour at all to be fair. Tiny pots of sauce for amount of food too. We love Chinese we would probably give it another go to be honest because service was absolutely fine. We just may have got a bad day cook wise.

Tried this takeaway after mixed reviews from friends, we were excited by the large menu and range of dishes. Order included black bean tofu, oyster sauce beef, Chinese chicken curry and cashew veggie stir fry. Unfortunately all the sauces were very watery and food was quite bland. Disappointing after such a promising menu.

We had a take away on Friday and it was top notch. There was so much food that I've just had what was left for my tea 2 days later.

We have two other Chinese take always in ripon and taste always come out at the top in my view. Completely different taste to the other two. I have tasted the munch fix on a few occasions and I never know what to eat first, just lovely.

This is my local takeaway. Although Ripon has several takeaways this is the best one.

My partner and I use the taste take away whenever he's home from London. We love the fact that this take away has moved in to the 21st century. Munchie boxes are a fabulous idea, all the picky bits that everyone loves and at a great price. The food is always fresh and you can tell only quality ingredients have been used. Staff are more than happy to help and service is quick. We love taste and it has replaced our usual Chinese take away.

Had a beef curry and chips from Taste on Saturday 5th May,it was amazing I enjoyed the flavours so much best ever curry take away I have had

More newly opened than other Chinese takeaways in Ripon but with fresher flavours - less MSG and also choice of Thai dishes and gluten free options.

I had Singapore vermicelli, my mate chicken in black bean sauce. Both were excellent. Our order was taken by a very smart friendly chap, the shop/counter area was so clean I wondered if it was a newly opened establishment. Both our meals were very tasty, bursting with plenty of fresh good quality ingredients. And value for money. Excellent in every way. Thank you Taste.

I ordered sweet and sour Cantonese tofu and fried rice. Service was efficient and the food was fresh and tasty. Vegetables were still slightly crunchy and rice appeared fresh and not reheated. Good value and friendly staff. It stated all sauces were vegetarian too.
