Claro Lounge in Harrogate

Best place in ripon I recommend the full English (lounge breakfast)service was immaculate, the waiters were extremely nice . Definitely coming again thank you!

A triumph of style over substance. Came in for breakfast at 10:45 on a Saturday. The place wasn’t too busy and I was seated quickly. I ordered a Lounge Breakfast and a pot of tea. I would have ordered a beer (yeah I know), but the choice on offer was only the most bland insipid beer available. The likes of starapramen and beer moretti and manbera. This is not the place for you if you actually like beer. Breakfast looked fancy but chef got the basics wrong. Egg had little black pepper decorating it but wasn’t actually seasoned in a balanced way. And it was unevenly cooked (the yolk was simultaneously raw in parts and hard in others) Bacon was of good quality, but white fat indicated that it wasn’t cooked all that well. Grilled tomato was sprinkled with dried thyme, but was still mainly raw. Pot of tea was nice. Overall I can see this being an ok place to meet up with friends for a brew. But it’s not a serious option for making it your regular for brunch or a pint. Hope this helps.

As always, a great meal in a great venue. It was a little bit slow on the service and we had to wait longer than expected for the food, but it was Christmas week! It was worth the wait.

Always enjoyable, The manager and staff are always polite and attentive. A great place for meet ups with friends, plenty of space. Great interior.

We called in here to have coffee/hot chocolate mid-morning, mid-week. A big space with interesting decor and some comfortable seating. It's easy to see why the place is popular with groups of young mums - plenty of space for them to bring pushchairs in without blocking up access for other customers. There were only two members of staff on duty so service was a little slow, compounded by one of them being taken up with a somewhat complicated order for someone with allergies. When the order arrived, it did come with an apology - thank you for that. The coffee was ok - nothing special, but my husband really enjoyed his hot chocolate on what was a cold and wet morning!

We just found the Claro Lounge on the fly and decided to have some dinner here. Had a feta tapas and a very nice burger. Awesome people and delicious food and drinks! Strongly recommended! And a big thank you!

Visited with my wife whilst in the area. We looked at the menu online which caught our eye. I ordered a chilli beef while my wife had a chicken salad. Both meals were excellent and service was very quick despite it being a busy Saturday night. Staff were friendly and welcoming.

Popped in whilst visiting Ripon in our Campervan..Amazing place! Warm, welcoming and spotlessly clean.. Lovely cocktails, Tapas was fantastic especially the king prawns and mini pulled brisket chilli were to die for as was the calamari. Have to say all the staff were amazing, big shout out to Paul who served us, he was warm, friendly and never stopped looking after the customers, also the lovely young man behind the bar (didn’t get his name) who is an amazing mixologist. Thankyou guys and see you soon xx

Our first visit to Claro, I ordered a pot of tea and a coffee… CAUTION…if you order a POT OF TEA you get a teapot (which makes 3 cups of tea) but only comes with only 1 tea bag which made the tea very weak, I asked the waitress if I could have another Teabag as the tea was very weak…Yes she replied but you’ll have to pay for it at £2.70 as a pot of tea only comes with 1 teabag……I declined to pay and returned to my seat 5 minutes later she came over and gave me a teabag, but was told I would have to pay for it in future…needless to say put a bit of a downer on our lunch… I would say however the food is amazing… note to self, next time take a teabag from home or go over the road to Wetherspoons and get one free from their coffee corner..

We were staying locally for the weekend to celebrate my birthday. When we walked in, we were greeted by a really friendly young man who asked if we has any dietary requirements. I was really pleasantly surprised by an excellent gluten free selection with no extra cost for this. We ordered a variety of tapas, main and side options and these were delicious. I would highly recommend the lamb koftas. The price was excellent too, around £40 for 2 including a cocktail each! Will definitely return.

Myself and my partner decided to come here for dinner around 6pm yesterday on our visit to Ripon. It was absolutely amazing. The food was so good! We both had burgers, fries, milkshakes, water and dessert and it came to around £40 in total which I think is very decently priced, especially for the quality of the food. The waitress who brought our food was so lovely! The place itself has a very cool vibe! Will 100% come back here on our next visit! Also caters well for any dietary restrictions - gluten free and vegan menu offered to us, plenty of vegetarian options!

My wife and I went here on Thursday (market day) and we really enjoyed it, we were met by a lovely young man who was very friendly, the first thing he asked was had we any allergies I cannot eat gluten and I was amazed when he brought a huge gluten free menu, this was full of every thing you could think of, I had a Tuna melt and my wife had an egg dish with bacon all the food was very nice, we had tea for 2 and we were given a teapot each so it it was all good, looking forward to our next visit.

A perfect spot for brunch during one of our outings. My wife and I loved wandering the market square and people-watching, especially as her energy was limited between chemo treatments, and this place was exactly what we needed – relaxed, welcoming, and full of charm. I ordered the Shakshuka, which was absolutely delicious, and my wife had the Lounge Breakfast with a glass of fresh orange juice. Everything was cooked beautifully, tasted amazing, and really hit the spot. The vibe was great, with a lovely, friendly atmosphere that made the whole experience even better. The staff were so warm and attentive, which made us feel right at home, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality of food and service. We’d hoped to come back for one of their tapas Tuesdays, but sadly we didn’t get the chance, as this was one of our last outings before my wife lost her battle with cancer. Even so, I’m so grateful for the special memories we made here. Claro Lounge gave us a wonderful experience during a tough time, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Really friendly staff .lovely food.good relaxing atmosphere. Fabulous pina colada what more do you need ?well we had 3 tapas to share as a starter all of which were delicious. 2 main dishes and 2 desserts.as did our friends who also enjoyed their meal too

We regularly visit Claro lounge and love sitting at the table by the window. If it is a available. We visited today and noticed a gentleman sittiing at the table, working on his laptop. It appeared to us that he was doing work and was in no hurry to leave. We were hoping he would leave so we could sit at our favourite table. But he continued to sit there. My grumble is if people want to work and enjoy a beverage, would it not be more fair and suitable for them to sit at the back of the lounge so regular customers can enjoy the front seating of the lounge. He was sitting at a table that could seat 4 people. We will continue to visit Claro's lounge, and hope that this comment makes sense. :)

We were in Ripon for a few days on holiday. I've not been well this year following a cancer diagnosis and my wife has had a lot to cope with , so we were hoping for a happy and relaxing time away . We found the wonderful Claro Lounge on our first morning in Ripon , and went back that evening, and the next , and the next.... We loved the atmosphere , the well-made cocktails, the tasty tapas , and the friendly and helpful service . Britain needs more places like you ! Friendly atmosphere good food, definitely be back

We are regular visitors to the fab Claro Lounge in Ripon. Why so I hear you ask. Well, it’s a great place to eat and drink, the vibe is nice and relaxed and you’ll get a really warm welcome from the staff. What appeals to us perhaps most of all is the consistency of friendliness. Thank you to Ray, Hannah, Helen, James, Conor, Ryan, Dan and the rest of the team.

Stopped for a bite of lunch. The staff are really very welcoming. The cafe looked really clean.

I had a birthday party here on Saturday, staff couldn’t have been more helpful they let me get there an hour and half earlier to set up some decorations, they set up all the tables for me already, let my bring my own speaker, very fast service bringing down all the drinks, we stayed past closing time and no one even bothered us because we were having so much fun 🙈, special mention to Hannah for organising so much and Oliver for clearing up after us, I will be back to host more parties xx

Quirky, comfortable bar/restaurant. Large so they can usually find a table for you even on busy nights. Food very good. Friendly and efficient service.

I found that this restaurant has a menu similar to that of wetherspoons, same quality of food and the staff are also similar in that they are polite and obliging . It has a great atmosphere and is well presented to a modern standard, and is clean

I arrived late in the evening (after a long journey up the M1 .. ) for a solo dinner and the warm, friendly welcome made me feel immediately at ease. I ordered a frites steak and glass of prosecco (which I chose from their extensive gluten free menu). I felt very well looked after and enjoyed the 80s music (being a gen x 😀) and candle lit ambience. The food was great and I will definitely recommend Claro Lounge to the other guests at the Renewal conference I'm at this weekend. Thank you guys for taking care of me this evening.

Fantastic flatbreads and tapas served by a welcoming team

Terrible food, first butter milk chicken was well over cooked, black around the edges and hard and dry. Chips not much better. Waitress changed the meal. Second attempt was soggy and looked unappetising. Won’t be going again.

Horrendous experience, had barely any drinks including wine. We watched one of the staff members going to Sainsburys to buy spirits!

What a wonder place! We travelled from Darlington for a walk around fountains abbey and were ready for some lunch after our walk. So glad we picked here, we were welcomed quickly, service was brilliant, staff extremely friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and so many things to choose from which will definitely keep us coming back for more! We might even bring the little people next time. Thanks for a lovely lunch ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We went on Monday 9th of September the meal was beautiful the coffee was superb but what made it excellent for was hannah she was brilliant and very friendly and she is a great asset to the place thanks hannah bill kate

Popped in for an early lunch. We had the mezza salad which was fantastically tasty and a very pleasant surprise and pulled pork chilli dish which again was very tasty. Ordered using the app - friendly, efficient and friendly service. Would recommend and should be higher up the list on trip advisor.

Had lunch here on Thursday (Market day). Massively welcoming staff, excellent food from a basic but well thought out menu, not too expensive. Can't believe that this place doesn't rank higher in places to eat in Ripon.

Great lunch at Claro. Helpful and pleasant staff, accommodated a couple of special requests. Mezze Bowl salad had a great mix of flavour. Beef Brisket Chilli was commented "delicious" by my 11 yr old. Raw chilli's on the top too much for him but easily set aside. Big drinks menu.

Heaps of gluten free options. Open about the potential to cross contamination. I’m very sensitive to contamination and had no reaction. Delicious food best of the trip so far by leaps and bounds! I came here with my friends on holiday to get some dinner. On first glance, everything was fine. Then came the blonde, obnoxious woman called Hannah. She was incredibly rude to us and basically threw our food at us after we waited for ages. She doesn't do her job and even when she 'is doing it' she does bare minimum and she does it rudely.She was also quite racist to my friend which enraged me. My friend, who is a black woman,ordered the chicken kiev burger and she scoffed saying "typical". After the racist remark, I did some digging and apparently this woman has done drugs in the workplace and has a history with this behaviour.Fire her immediately or something else will be done about her!! I've never left a bad review in my life but my she was so appalling that I couldn't resist. Food was pretty decent but the flavour was bitter after her behaviour..

Wanted something easy and light Monday evening and came in here and had a great meal - tapas and a salad with a couple of drinks. Food great and service excellent. And great value.

Me and my Wife went here whilst on a day trip in Ripon. A lot of places are closed on a Monday but not the Claro lounge and we were so glad it wasn't. We both had the cowboy smash burger and it was perfect! We were nice and cool on a really hot day in a restaurant with a great atmosphere and fab service. Hannah and Helen served us brilliantly and were very happy to serve way beyond what we expected, super friendly and super service. If we ever go back to Ripon, we know where we will go. Also, the cheeky Monday deal was a real bonus! Thank you!

Not a fan of chains but they have got it right . Staff excellent, especially 09.50 on a Tuesday night ! Kitchen getting ready to shut but serves up 6 delicious tapas .

We were passing through Ripon, and having never been disappointed by the vegan choices/nice coffee offered by this chain(?) in other places, we called in mid morning. Jacob took our order, was polite and friendly, and the coffees came quickly.. however whilst waiting (for what seemed like ages, despite there being few customers) for a toasted tea cake and vegan sausage butty we became aware of the manager (?) who was super loud, marching around and barking orders and criticisms at the other 2 staff.. we were sitting in the furthest corner, but could easily hear every word she said. It was very unpleasant/unprofessional. My husband saw what he assumed was his tea cake sitting by the kitchen, and 5 minutes later when it arrived, it was stone cold, whilst the vegan sausages were barely luke warm - I’m just glad it’s not our local, and that other customers had a better experience. 3 stars for Jacob, the decor, and the nice location.

Visited yesterday as a birthday treat we had a lovely meal,served by a charming young man. We were invited to join in the pub quiz which we did and failed miserable, but it was good fun.A really good job done by all the staff

Decent food with rather slow service. The atmosphere is more that of a caff than kf a lounge bar.

A great place but a bit hit and miss on service. Usually dog friendly, but again depends on who's serving each day.

The nasi goreng a Malaysian dish was served in a Korean sauce which I couldn't work out the flavours, my wife had a broth served in a bowl with a knife and fork? Interesting but not a place I'd return.

Lovely food and a great atmosphere. Very nice pale ale on tap but it's a little disappointing that they don't have a good bitter on tap - especially with Theakstons and Black Sheep just 20 minutes up the road.

The staff here were extremely friendly and helpful and service was excellent. We sat downstairs for lunch where there's an area for children to play with toys, games and books. We ordered via the app and the food came quickly despite how busy it was. The food itself was delicious and looked freshly prepared, not the usual reheated preprepared food you might get in some bars. The only thing I would say is some of the tapas dishes were perhaps a little overpriced for what they were. The kid's food portions were generous and very reasonably priced. My son liked being able to pick which sides he'd like with his main. We would definitely return for another visit as my kids were having so much fun playing that they didn't want to leave.

Great place lovely food. Had the most bazaars experience believe or not, but something tapped my shoulder and when i turned round in surprise no one was there, it was not a slight tap but quite hard it really freaked me, has any one else experience this.

Burger was abit tasteless and chips where abit poor... but overall it was average

Fantastic little eatery in Ripon. We went here for brunch off the back of the Google reviews and we were NOT disappointed. If im hyoer critical id say uts on the expensive side but it was delicious food and great service.

Absolutely love this place, have always been able to get a table when walking in. Lovely relaxed environment, food is always consistent. Dogs are welcome & the pancakes are wonderful! Love a lounge breakfast, but didn't want such a big meal this day - so pancakes won. Can't go wrong with their decaf latté, always a very pleasant cup & the menus have such choice, even those with dietary requirements 😋😃

Visited Claro Lounge today for the firsttime to catch up with an old friend whilst I was passing through Ripon. I can't comment on the food - we didn't have any, just drinks - though I'm gonna go 5* anyway... I can however comment on service and atmosphere. I was treated extremely well; I bought my excitable 18 month old Labrador with me and this was accepted without a murmur. The staff were friendly, accomodating and chatty, making it a pleasure to go in there. Altogether the "vibe" was relaxed but professional. I really enjoyed the experience and will surely be going again next time I get to Ripon. Oh yeah, the coffee was pretty good too!

The place looked nice from the outside. Walked in on the sign it said wait to be seated waited nobody attended so we walked back out.

Really tasty food with a great selection! Decor looks smart and really enjoyed the atmosphere, great music choice. Service fantastic, Poliet and good time for Service. Definitely would visit again!

Very nice place. Bigger than it looks with facilities for all sorts of people, especially families. Fair prices and the staff are lovely.

Seperate, extensive menus for vegetarians/vegans and those who require gluten free. Care taken ordering, and our brunch was excellent. Such a pleasant change. Just a shame that they only have the one branch.

I love this café Bar in Ripon. It's on the visit list each month. Excellent service as soon as you walk through the door. A great friendly welcome. What to chose this visit? Lots of choices. My favourite is the Nasi Goreng. Spicy but not too spicy. Lots of fresh water prawns & chicken. Crispy fried egg on the top. Yummy. Hubby had a full breakfast as it was Brunch time. And it is a full breakfast. Service excellent again. They are dog friendly and always make a fuss of our Fox Terrier. See you next shopping day.

Excellent food, chilled atmosphere, very child friendly

Stopped off in Ripon on route to Yorkshire Dales, just fancied a light brunch. A lovely bubbly lady greeted us. Nice atmosphere inside, quite a big place with steady customers ( it was snowing ). I had the smashed avocado brunch and hubby had the Twisted chicken club. They were both amazing, loaded with fresh taste ingredients. If we're passing Ripon and we're hungry we will definitely call in again.

Food is decent but the staff seem to spent too much time chatting to each other loudly and seemingly happy to swear at each other. It's not cheap amd the behaviour just not acceptable.
