Quiet but really friendly. Can't review foods as only been in for a pint. If you want a calm place to chat to someone rather than shout over the usual spoons crowd this is for you!

This was the first time we have visited this pub. The beer was off so we took it back to the bar. After it was swapped for something else we were told we had to pay for the replacements which we obviously refused as we'd just paid for the first drinks we couldn't drink. The landlord then told us to drink up and leave. We were a group of 50 to late 70 year olds who just wanted a quiet drink Terrible customer service and we will not be returning.

A late decision to going out on bank holiday Monday went from great with excellent bar service to chaos,I wasn’t going to comment but it has since angered me that after 20 years of it been my local i no longer want to go in,after a friend is bitten by a dog that may well be the pub dog,for it to roam freely has ruined the day,as confrontation from a worse for wear landlord who man handled my partner and was foul mouthed confirms to me it is no longer the pub it was

This pub is not dog friendly. My dog was attacked while on lead by the landlords dog. I was bitten. Instead of apologising the landlord was very aggressive. All four of our party were verbally abused and threatened with physical harm. Avoid at all costs

This pub is not dog friendly. The landlords have 2 dogs and a cat that are free to roam with zero supervision , which sadly led to our dog being attacked, and in the process of separating the dogs, my partner was bitten. The landlord has very poor social skills, our complaint was met by a barrage of abuse and all 4 people in our group being verbally threatened, and almost physically attacked. The police were involved, absolute chaos and a sad end to what was a great day .

Stayed here in our motorhome last weekend. They have a great selection of beers. The hosts were fabulous, they made us feel very welcome. This is the friendliest pub in Ripon.

Popped in whilst looking for a quick lunch. Very unusual setting for a tea room but works well with about 10 tables set up between the pews & the altar. The pews act as an overflow area if all tables are taken but we arrived as one was being vacated. Very friendly staff, a relaxing atmosphere and excellent value for money. Menu is limited to a choice of rolls, soup and a tempting range of homemade cakes & scones. Rolls could have improved if pickle, mustard or mayonnaise had been offered but the cakes & scones made up for this as they were very nice. The church itself is a delightful building and worth a visit in it’s own right. An interesting alternative lunch option.

Visited here on Sunday. I had the full English (which was still available at lunchtime). It was the best I’ve had in a long time. The cafe seemed to run like a well oiled machine. The young waiting staff were both friendly and efficient. They all kept busy and knew their jobs. Highly recommend.

The service from two youngish girls was excellent! Dare I say typical Yorkshire! Portikns are generous, represent good value and flavoursome too!

2 young lads running the shop. 1 cooking was in filthy clothes and on his phone most of the time. Music was very loud. Fish and chips were disgusting, had an upset stomach for the rest of the night after eating half. Would not visit again. Think they could do with some staff training.

Can only give it a 1 star as we didn't stay after we had travelled 2hrs in our motorhome and had pre booked a parking space. Upon arrival in the congested and compact car park with a caravan parked and a mobile food van it was very difficult to A, Navigate the car park and B, Find a pitch. It's advertised on Motorhome Web sites and there's even a video showing numerous motorhomes parked up but unfortunately we were unable to see where we would be placed. I went into the pub and explained that I had infact booked a space. The lady said " Oh we'll move a car." I politely declined as I felt the car park was far too congested to safely leave our vehicle . I understand the car park is free but having pre booked and travelled it was more than an inconvenience.
