The tastiest Sunday lunch I've ever had. Lovely restaurant and and service brilliant...

Been before fish and chips was amazing but on last visit . Fish had known taste and Grease chips and peas nothing to stout about on the hall, very disappointing

Stayed at the Yorkshire as a gift from a friend and visited the pickled Sprout. The food was outstanding, so tasty! Service & Atmosphere I also couldn't fault, such a lovely place to visit. Can't wait to go again.

Had a Amazing sunday roast , I had chicken and hubby had roast beef ,yorkshire pud and veg lovely red cabbage was so nice, the added jug of gravy was a great addition ,thank you for a great meal out

Called in for Sunday lunch and it was great quality, hot, fast service, fantastic staff and very importantly wonderful with our dog. Definitely going again .

Lovely place for an afternoon meal!

Went for dinner on a Saturday night. The staff were really friendly. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. I got the monkfish scampi and my mum got the pumpkin curry. Both dishes were super tasty! Atmosphere was great. It was our first time dining here and we did get a bit confused on how to find the restaurant area as entered via the bar so maybe a sign would be helpful? The bar was really busy but the noise didn’t carry at all into the restaurant area/ it just made the atmosphere better. Would definitely return!

Wonderful Sunday Roast. Pork, crackling and apple sauce hit the spot. Roast beef came a close second. Huge Yorkshire puddings served with delicious vegetables. Salmon fish cakes were lush, hot and crispy. Everything served on hot plates 👍 Special shout out to Frayer our server, who made our evening special

We have called in here a few times while in Harrogate. Good choice of drinks, friendly staff and a good atmosphere. We haven't eaten here but the food does look good.

What a gem. Absolutely gorgeous place. Food was to die for. I cant remember the last time I ate out and made that mmmm noise whilst eating. Service was second to none and staff were great, friendly and attentive. Even though it was a busy evening service.

Really nice place to go for a drink and food. Great range of beers and ales and not too expensive. Lovely friendly staff and great atmosphere. I'd say booking is a must especially in run up to Christmas

Great food and service. We were impressed with the level of attention from the team. Too often we go somewhere flooded with staff and yet feel unattended once the food is served ie nobody checks if you want sauces, more drinks, everything ok. Not so here! We were regularly checked in on, without it becoming intrusive. I enjoyed my burger and my wife was very impressed with her toasted chicken sandwich. She paid for the meal but forgot to tip on the card machine. Neither of us had any cash (the modern world!) so popped to the nearest ATM and came back with a tip. Only issue was it did get a little cold on occasion when the door was left open by a few inconsiderate prats leaving the place. There was a sign asking people to close the door behind them, but there is always one - or 3 or 4 in this case! We'll be back!

Called early doors midweek - a good job we booked as it can fill up pretty quickly. Great choice of keg beers including the brilliant Vocation Crush Hour hazy pale. Not used to having portions this size - could not finish everything.

I travel around the country and have eaten Sunday lunch in numerous pubs restaurants and hotels. By far this was the worst Sunday dinner I have ever eaten. Looking at the other reviews amazes me. Roast potatoes were from frozen with duck fat the type you buy in Herons. The veg over cooked. The so called stuffing was out of a packet. The gravy was from knorr. I ordered extra coliflower and cheese sauce. Which was £5.50. It was cold and the cheese sauce watery and tasteless. So I paid around £30 for total rubbish. Please. Trust me don't eat here.

Horrendous experience - was served a hot pork sandwich instead of a cold beef sandwich which I ordered. Not only was the food inedible, I was also served much later than all of my friends after this error. On top of this I was charged the wrong amount and this was only rectified once I realised this and not pointed out by staff. Overall not impressed at all by this restaurant which is quite a shame considering the nice seating outside that initially attracted us here.

We enjoyed an early evening meal in the bar area. Service was very good, and the food was great too. We’ll certainly return here the next time we visit Harrogate

We had a lovely Sunday lunch to round off a weekend away in York and Harrogate. Lovely warm service, we sat in the restaurant area and it was decorated beautifully with a lovely ambience. Starters beautiful, I opted for the roast beef which was plentiful and cooked to perfection, dessert also lovely. Thank you for a lovely meal! Will definately return

I visited this place twice since it’s conveniently located inside our hotel. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff are both friendly and attentive. I highly recommend the crispy spiced pork belly and the grilled halibut—both dishes were excellent. Tips: • Be sure to make a reservation, especially for Friday dinner, as the restaurant is quite popular and fills up quickly. • Portions are generous!

I visited Harrogate for an early seventieth birthday celebration. I'd asked a girl in the street for a good place to eat, she said "The Pickled Sprout", word of mouth had proven to be a good method and reliable source as I'd had our accommodation The Double Tree Hotel Majestic recommended by a girl barista in Costa Manchester, who had celebrated her twenty second birthday there. So a day later on the Sunday we looked up this pub. Great advice!....with the imagination to call a pub The Pickled Sprout, that person had to possess some originality in their thinking, and it occurred to me if this same originality was applied to the cuisine it augered well there'd be some pretty diverse dishes. Viewing the menu after escaping the Yorkshire heavy rain and grateful for refuge, this proved to be the case. Me and the missus chose mocktails of cucumber, mint, coconut water for an aperitif with ice, great choice. I opted for a lemon and thyme chicken on the bone roast dinner. Parboiled carrots, giant Yorkshire, white cabbage and extra thick gravy boat. What I really liked and right up my street, was the scalding hot food on ironware plate. I like hot food!!! Fabienne had Salmon, pressed potatoes, broccoli, she loves her veg! This is a great pub diner, really! Fabulous fayre. We even had a visit from the boss Benami, lovely guy, he asked us how we liked it, our response was truly positive. He goes about his culinary trade with passion, and his efforts to please the customers is blatantly obvious. Go there, spoil yourself, you'll be glad you followed my advice.

One of my favorite independent pubs in Harrogate. Good choice of beers and different seating arrangements with booths and high tables.

We were very impressed by our visit to this restaurant in Harrogate this week. Two of our party of 3 were disabled using a wheelchair and a disability scooter but were made very welcome and our dog too. The staff were second to none, the restaurant was of a high standard and the food was delicious, we cannot recommend this establishment highly enough.

We had a lovely meal in nice surroundings. Ion, our waiter was super attentive, friendly and efficient. Thank you. We loved the surroundings, however, it was a little too dark to see the menu and bill at the end. The service was speedy but not intrusive. Would recommend.

Great place to have drinks, loved the food, it was beautiful, we had 4 meat pizza, fries and Greece feta salad, enough for 2 people sharing.

Halibut disappointing. Overcooked. Sea asparagus inedible. Fish ok but over. Potato nice. Not sure what was on top but was like a piece of plastic. Mentioned and they were grateful for feedback but nothing offered. Nice atmosphere. Hubby had a burger which was average. Not a foodie joint!

Fish made me sick and the staff were a bit useless

The place looks beautiful , food is very nice and the staff very friendly. I only dropped a star for 2 reasons. We got a super salty fish , like super salty. They were very quick to change it but it got me wondering how did they cook that fish that it was sooooo salty?! The second reason is that you can’t take away your leftovers. The portions are huge , like really huge. Unlikely anyone will finish them … n half of that will go on in the bin. Might need considering reducing the sizes of the portions.. food waste is not cool . Other than that i would definitely go there again.

Had dinner here on 11th August at 4pm there was 3 adults 2 kids well starter was amazing prawncocktal x dinner was fantastic x pudding was fabulous 👌 will defor go again wen at harrogate thanks to all the staff and chefs 👨‍🍳 😋

Came here for a friend's reunion meal..food was delicious 😋...the ambience and setting of the bar and restaurant was superb and everything about the night, service and attention to detail was just spot on...definitely recommended and would happily go again

Burger patties were slightly on the large side but very enjoyable and filling. Top quality food, though, the prawn cocktail was lovely.

Lovely food and drink when we visit harrogate.

Despite being busy, we managed to .get a table for dining. Meal was superb. Had pork belly as a starter and sirloin steak for mains. Both really tasty and perfectly cooked and presented 👍🏻 Well recommended.

We went few days ago. we were on Harrogate for a family trip. Food was great. big portions! pizza very good! burger great and cesar salad amazing! Carlitos was extremely nice and helpful! thank you! deff will come back!

Very nice and spacious bar at the back of The Yorkshire hotel. Good food reasonable prices. And well stocked bar/cocktails. More tourists and hotel guests. Quiet and laid back.

Charlie the waiter was super kind and very helpful during our meal since it was our first time in Harrogate and we had some questions. We definitely recommend this place’s food and service!

Great food and drinks, staff was good if not a little overworked or understaffed. The cornbread pudding was tried.... Sad to say that it is a good attempt but just not right the flavour and textures do not work.

Excellent food served with a smile and warm welcome. Good choice of food and drink. Place was fully refurbished after covid and looks great. Well worth a visit.

Sat outside and had to order from the bar. Ordering was quick and staff was friendly. Except for delivering cutlery and the meal, I never saw a member of staff again. I got the Thai burger. The pork was nice but the burger was very messy. I could not have eaten it like a burger without being covered in sauce. For the price I would have liked a staff member to check on me. Service should be better than Weatherspoons.

We have called in here for a meal on the last three visits to Harrogate. Always accommodating with good service. Food is very good and the atmosphere great. We will call again on our next trip

Really disappointed with recent visit for Sunday lunch. Decided to try the trio ( supp £350) which was not good the pork was tiny dry piece tasted like cardboard small piece of beef and a half of a chicken breast the largest Yorkshire pudding which filled half the plate . The veg arrived colourless no greens overcooked white cabbage and carrots, no offer of any horseradish , apple sauce ect . I was asked if all was fine and my reply was it’s ok the reason for this is I was with my friend who dislikes confrontation and as it was his treat I refrained from complaining. I have eaten here before and been blown away.

We stayed for the weekend at the Yorkshire Hotel. 5 stars all the way for this restaurant.

Excellent food, generous portion size and very professional staff. Best meal out for a long time. Beautiful decor and great selection of beers and wines. Toilets were also very clean!

The food was really bad starter of scallops was tasteless however the soufflé was nice but the problem is the chef the mains we ordered was a fillet steak and pork belly the fillet steak went back I genuinely thought it was off but for some unknown reason they decided to marinade all there meats in whisky and Guinness STOP IT DOSENT WORK LEAVE THE MEAT ALONE in 35 years I’ve never sent a steak back!!! After this the manager came over and was fantastic I then ordered the lamb while it was ok they had seasoned it that much all you could taste was salt the desert of cheese board was good but that’s because the chef didn’t make it however the serving staff were friendly and very good I will never be back while that chef is there and continues to marinate 28day aged meat in Guinness and whisky !!!!! Also we ordered a side of green beans which were not even trimmed says it all really.

We were celebrating a 60th birthday and the service, food and restaurant were superb. Our waiter Eton was delightful and we even popped in again the following day for drinks. A lovely place with n Harrogate. Will be back ..

Simply the best. Prawn cocktail to start with full to the brim of prawns. Trio of meats for main with an array of veg, all piping hot with plenty of gravy. Attentive well trained staff with great personalities. 2 x course for £24.95 excellent value. One of the best meals I have had for many years, can't wait to return.

Was OK at best. We had to walk through the bar and restaurant and disturb 3 staff stood chatting to find our table.The food was nice enough but as soon as the starter had been taken away the main course was served. We could’ve had a much better experience with improved service and probably would’ve stayed for coffee/more drinks, neither of which were offered.

The food is excellent. Beautifully presented local produce with a modern twist. The waiter was very charming. The lighting in some parts of the restaurant is rather dim.

Awesome. We went, on Mothers day, for the first time. Lovely atmosphere, backing music, child's menu has plenty of options. Our Son had the mac & cheese, he was very happy. We had the Sunday roast, stunning! Went for optional cauliflower cheese too, very nice. Service was top drawer. Reasonably priced. We were sat down overlooking the park, really enjoyed it, thank you.

Being new to Harrogate, my partner and I wanted to try a cocktail before dinner out. About 5pm on Friday evening went into PS and found the atmosphere rather nice, so approached the bar to get a cocktail menu. Wannabe Tom Cruise was busy making cocktails and, though I was standing right in front of him, didn't even acknowledge me for over 10 minutes. Like I wasn't there. An older woman pushed in front of me and the young woman behind the bar served her instantly, also ignoring me. There was a time in England where, due to manners and consideration of others, there was an orderliness about queuing at a bar. Clearly that has gone and the waiting staff are either clueless or not bothered. In the end, I left ... I won't be back. First impressions are important.

Went for lunch on a Saturday. Cocktails were very nice. We both had the roast beef sandwich and we both thought the horseradish was slightly over-powering and it was lacking meat. Fairly good value though for a lunchtime sandwich.

Hubby and i had an early dinner here and i cannot recommend enough.The food was outstanding as was the staff and service.Cocktails not to shabby either. Would definetely go again Had scallops for starter and handmade monkfish scampi for mains..Best ever

The food was ok but not brilliant … the service slow and inattentive three young ladies chattering as we waited for the desert menu instead we asked for the bill !! A shame as we were looking forward to this restaurant … and were going to try the Fat Badger a part of the group but not now … really don’t like leaving a bad review but it was disappointing .. the room is nice , the wine was good and it wasn’t expensive .

Just entered the restaurant with no one at all to greet the guests, the other customers said to sit wherever we like as there was no one at the front desk all day. We found an available table, the waitress saw us but only came to us when we had taken our coats off and were sat comfortably just to tell us they are fully booked and we need to leave!! When we said there was no one or at least a sign at the entrance/door to say you can only sit at the bar area and the other space is the restaurant, the waitress tried lying to say that the person at the front was on their break! Instead of politely moving us to the bar area she just kicked us out basically. Super embarrassing! The staff should know better, so rude! Put signs or ask your staff to approach the guests before they are sat!

After some serious shopping, it was time for lunch, and the Pickled Sprout was our choice. From the outside, it looks quite inviting, but this belays how big it is inside , bar area on entry, and then there is the art deco themed restaurant dining area through a central archway. It wasn't too busy, so service from the lovely staff was quick, so all good so far ..... We ordered the Hot Roast Pork Baguettes and a side of homecut chips. Very nicely presented on a plank ,tasted great, but the pork meat did not cover the length of the baguette, and I think for £10.00 it definitely should, I did mention this to our waitress who apologised and said she would tell the chef. So yes, we enjoyed our lunch, but it could and should have been better.

We stopped here as we were starving & didn't have the energy to keep going. We're glad we did! The conservatory was decorated beautifully & we felt so relaxed after our morning of shopping in the sales! The food was really tasty, if we could have eaten more we would! We're planning on returning in the summer and staying in the hotel.

Anna was waiters, and she was super elegant on her manner as probably expected from Harrogate. The food was super delicious. The location is also fabulous! Just the views and decoration deserve a 4 star. I truly recommend this restaurant

Really enjoyed my meal here. The food was to a very high standard and I was impressed with the two young ladies who looked after me, they were really efficient!
