Moti Raj Indian Cuisine in Harrogate

Saturday the 14th October 2023. We had delivered the most amazing, delicious meals ever. A super Chicken Tikka Bhuna and a wonderful Chicken Royal. I really must say they were both totally amazing. I recommend you all try this wonderful restaurant, you will not be disappointed, you will wonder why you didn't try it earlier. Every dish we have had has excited our taste buds more and more.

We come for dinner a few times a year. Never let down . Another lovely meal this evening and the service is always fantastic!

Had delivered yesterday evening the most delicious meals from the Moti Raj in Ripon. We had the starter of Chicken Tikka. (please try it) then a meal of Nirali Special and a meal of Chicken Tikka Bhuna. Both again were piping hot when arrived. You can taste its the best ingredients in every single mouthful. You should all try this amazing restaurant. You will want to try it again.

10 of us visited the Moti Raj on 28th August and it is honestly one of the best Indians we’ve ever been to! The food was just amazing and we all ordered different main courses with an absolutely no complaints and clear plates all round. The staff were really friendly too. We could not fault this restaurant we’ll definitely be back soon and we would recommend this place to anyone and everyone visiting Ripon!

The food at Moti Raj is honestly the best Indian food I have ever eaten and the service was just wonderful. I had the podina and it was so good! But everything from the starter to the naan breads were just absolutely delicious. I cannot recommend this place highly enough!

What a find very tasty authentic food. Not swimming in Ghee as some are and you can taste all the spices. We went on a Sunday and there is a buffet menu popadoms, starters, main course and choice of breads or rice great value as you take the starter and main course from the main menu. I am an ex Bradford lad and the only thing I have missed since moving 20 years ago is the curries well not anymore. Well done thanks for great food.

Last night we had delivered 2 exceedingly delicious meals. Received them piping hot as usual. We had Chicken Tikka Korma, a Chicken Nirali Special and a Rogni Nan Bread. Our starter was the always amazing Chicken Tikka Starter, always guaranteed to totally excite your taste buds. You must all try this amazing restaurant.

Last night we had delivered a most special beautiful dinner. The Chicken Tikka starter and sauce were perfect as usual (you don't know what you're missing, you must try this). Then we followed on with a Chicken Jaipur and a Chicken Tikka Bhuna. Both so delicious and mouth watering. Real treasures of culinary delight. So rich tasting and a multitude of amazing tastes. Never forget a Nan Bread or you will miss out.

Headed over on a quite Monday evening. Lovely welcome, food was excellent, couldn’t fault anything about the place. Nice & clean. No alcohol license, but you can take your own, which is not a problem, there’s an off license across the road.

Visited this evening. Lovely restaurant, nicely decorated and furnished. Staff were quite friendly. Ordered sizzling starter to share, it was quite nice but nothing fantastic. Mains included sirloin steak masala, it arrived covered in sauce, the sauce was nice but the steak was the driest, toughest fattiest steak I have ever had. When the table was cleared I mentioned to the waiter about the steak. It was obvious it was inedible as it was left on the plate. An apology under his breath was all. When the bill arrived we were charged full price for the steak meal. I wouldn’t usually make a fuss but £15 for an inedible meal. I explained to the other waiter the problem with the meal, he disappeared and came back with a £5 discount, and a bad attitude as if it was my fault. I just paid up and left. Not recommended!!!

Yesterday evening we had delivered another couple of awesome meals from the Moti Raj. We had the Chicken Tikka starter (everyone must try this) a Chicken Tikka Malaya a Chicken Hyderabadi and a Rogni Nan Bread, along with yoghurt dressing and a beautiful salad. They arrived piping hot with such an amazing aroma. Each meal was beautiful and wow you must try this restaurant. You know the best ingredients have been used. You will never be disappointed.

Yesterday evening we had delivered another amazing meal from the Moti Raj. It truly was a master piece of flavours and textures. Delivered piping hot. We had the Chicken Tikka starter with yoghurt sauce. Followed by Chicken Tikka Shatkora, a Chicken Tikka Malaya, a Rogni Nan Bread and some salad. Every dish was mouth wateringly brilliant.

We had the set meal and it was fabulous 👌 The restaurant is very smart, bright and welcoming. The staff were extremely friendly and polite. The food was amazing and we finished every single course! Would highly recommend and next time we visit Ripon we'll definitely book to eat there again 😋

My husband and I were on a day out in the Yorkshire Dale's as we love the countryside. We decided to have a run to ripon and have a meal before heading back home to Cumbria, and found this lovely Indian restaurant called Moti Raj it was superb. They have a banquet special on a Wednesday and Sunday for only£9.90 per person it was delicious. We have eaten in a lot of Indian restaurants up and down the country as it is our preferred cuisine and this is simply up there with the very best!!! It isn't licensed but there is a little shop opposite where you can get wines & beers etc. Moti Raj provides glasses bottle openers ice, etc. We cannot praise the staff enough, both service and food was excellent!! If you enjoy Indian cuisine and you are ever in Ripon you must visit Moti Raj, also decor is beautiful. This was our first visit but we will definitely be back. Thank you to all at the Moti Raj

We had a fabulous meal here. We chose a number of vegetarian sides and were stuffed. Really high quality food and cooking here. Delicious. The waiting staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Lovely decor and very clean.

We had a very enjoyable meal (as usual), but were a little bit unnerved by the lack of social distancing. Tables packed quite close together despite the government guidelines.

We were missing our curries during lockdown and did not realise that Moti Raj were doing a takeaway and delivery service. What an excellent service delivered by Malik who is always very courteous and professional. Our meals were delicious - full of large chunks of tender chicken. Ventured into Ripon for dinner & beer and ended up here.We hadn't booked, but got in easily - undoubtedly helped by the freezing rain & wind...I asked for the drinks menu but was told that they only sold soft drinks, but there was a shop almost opposite that they recommended so we got a couple of bottles of Cobra & Kingfisher, to keep it authentic, & our waiter happily provided glasses & a bottle opener - thanks.There menu didn't appear to be brimming with veggie dishes so I ordered two fantastic veggie side orders, rice & a peshwari nan - all of which were incredibly tasty.I'll definitely eat here again.

My second time here, Indian food seemed the logical choice on a freezing cold evening.There are some very different choices on the menu and, whilst I haven't been brave enough to try the more unusual ones yet, I did try the Chicken Suka starter.It was a sizeable portion of chicken, in a thick sauce with a side salad, and it tasted nice.On safer ground for my mains, I had Chicken Jalfrezi, Saag Aloo and a Garlic Naan - and everything came to under £20An absolute bargain, and it prepared me nicely for going back out into the cold.

We ordered a madras, chicken rogan josh and a lamb biriyani all with rice. The lamb biriyani sauce was to watery, the garlic naan bread no garlic taste. The chips were poor as all Indian restaurants we have been in the chips are normally chunky chips.

Food was amazing, very accommodating and the staff we’re friendly! I would definitely eat there again and recommend anyone to try it out.

Really good food here, and a lot of different dishes to choose from on the menu. I had the Tandoori Platter to start, which was a substantial portion for a starter, followed by Chicken Pathia with a side of Saag Meloni (think Saag Bhaji topped with sliced spring onions) and an absolutely beautiful Garlic Naan.And all for the bargain price of £17.30!

Four of us went for a birthday celebration on Saturday 23/11/19. The food was delicious across the board and the service was fantastic. Absolutely nothing to fault! We will definitely be returning as soon as possible.

We have enjoyed all our meals at Moti Raj, and it is always nice that you can take along your favourite bottle of wine to have with the meal. The staff are pleasant and relaxed and it makes for a great end to the working week.
