Nice pub, friendly staff, great beer!! What more could you ask for??

Yeh all good but on the 4/9/23 they had no strongbow darkfruts

Called in for a drink on way back from the races. Totally ignored by bar staff who served locals who came in after us, walked out!!

Ran out of a few things on what is probably their busiest day of the year.... Need to learn from this.

We popped in for a drink with children and the dog. Great service. Very welcoming staff. Dog friendly. Would highly recommend it if you're visiting the area.

Disappointing. Made special effort to check it out as a potential local pub as a newcomer to Ripon. They advertise "Cask Beer " outside and then when asked inside why there is no Cask Beer I was curtly told its an old sign... like really?? Take the sign down then. Duh!

I gave the new owners a chance with my local pub, however there has been nothing but disappointment since they have taken over. Of course I expected drink prices to change, the previous owners charged £4.80 for my drink, and for the first couple of weeks my drink was at £5.80, a slight increase but I was not going to complain. I went last night, considering the last time I was in and got this drink for £5.80 was Monday night, and they attempted to charge £8 for the same drink. This out prices every single other pub in Ripon, and considering the owners young children were running around until 11pm in the pub being screamed at by the woman behind the bar I find it disgusting that their pricing themselves so high when they provide an unprofessional and not very nice atmosphere. Very disappointed and would like to see a change or the locals will stop coming.

Only sat outside for a drink so can't truly give it a rating. Beer was good as were the prices

Fab pub with amazing staff! I had been on the canal boat with my mam and daughter and we were freezing, we had spotted the pub earlier on so nipped in hoping to get a hot drink. The girl behind the bar was so accommodating, they don't normally serve hot drinks as there is another business close by and they won't take their trade (fab attitude) But they were closed so she said I could have a cup of tea - I also believe she could see the desperation of how much I needed the tea! My mam and daughter then pushed their luck and asked for a hot chocolate! It sounds silly, but she could of turned us away, we weren't big spenders, weren't local but the service we recied was 10/10 I would return in a heartbeat next time I am in the area!

It was a welcoming stop midweek after travelling from Knaresborough. Obviously a locals pub, Smelled a bit of hot fat.Didnt eat just a drink.

I live in ripon and had family down from Scotland so kids teens dogs baby Dog friends with dog treats and space for pushchair and great choice of food something for everyone and have seen they do take away too plus great Sunday dinner price also for take away booking in advance

Only passing as my family and i was on our way to Scotland. A very friendly pub with good food and beer, unfortunately it only does burgers, but the quality of them is ' up there '

Strange that 2 pints of Bitter was more expensive than a pint of Lager and a pint of Guinness?!..£9.60 for the bitters!!..How Much!

Today we have an excellent Sunday dinner delivered to us at home...the meal was piping hot the meat & vegetables were delicious & at a very reasonable cost... thanks 😊

Absolutly brilliant service from ordering my Sunday lunch and having itt delivered to my door. The food was lovely and hot, the food was so nice and tasty. Very good value for money. Would reccomend to anyone.

Very good service and friendly staff. Just out of the centre of Ripon the Navigation has a homely local Yorkshire Pub vibe. Sunday lunch was really nice and a good sized portion.

Decided to try this after hearing good reports from friends and very suprised used the pub over the years but never been for food, usually you will find the odd thing or two thats not to your liking but everything was great from the extra cheese crust on top of the cauliflower cheese to the large pot of gravy, it was all delicious everything, and the best value for money you will find bar none. Its the best we have had for years and we have had a few and will be back. Just go and be be suprised.

Consistently the best Sunday Roast in town - also the cheapest we’ve found. Friendly staff, nicely done out and just all around great pub for a family Sunday lunch

I had a Sunday roast delivered to my workplace on Sunday for my staff and it was delicious we all loved it! Plentiful portion and a good selection of vegetables,and extra gravy! Fantastic customer service when placing an order,such a fast response. Will definitely order again and would recommend.

Excellent stop and friendly people

Had an Excellent Beef Sunday dinner today. Really nice home cooked food, good selection of Veg to accompany the meat and a big Yorkshire Pud. Staff made us feel welcome. Will definitely return.

Nice place to have a drink after walking g along the canal. Only sat outside in the beer garden, areas of sun and shade. Toilets are nice and clean.

We arrived at this pub having cycled across the Yorkshire Dales in the wind and rain. We arrived cold and miserable and Laura welcomed us with blankets and hot water bottles. She was even willing to tumble dry our sodden clothes. We then had an amazing lunch from a great menu and really good beer and left properly refreshed.

Hidden gem, a proper local..... The recent refit and beer garden extension do it proud

Good food made even better by the current "eat out to help out"! Staff were friendly and service was good albeit a little slow when it came to serving our food. A small but adequate menu including burgers, steaks, kids meals etc. Certainly enough to choose from and a nice change not to feel bombarded by a massive menu. Would certainly go back.
