Field & Fork Restaurant

Chichester North, Chichester
09/03/2019: Culinary delight. Service was warm and friendly. Naz was accommodating, knowledge, and clearly loves what he does. The food was imaginative and delicious. Seasonal local Dabs was excellent.
08/03/2019: We stayed locally for 1 night on a short business trip and picked this restaurant purely because of the reviews. Absolutely faultless, the food was amazing and Amanda was so nice, thank you. We will be back.

The Crate and Apple

Chichester West, Chichester, 20-30£
11/03/2019: What a treat to visit somewhere where nothing could be faulted. The food was delicious and the host was genial. The service was superb and managed to be discreet and attentive at the same time. They have a perfectly formed menu that caters for all tastes and choices but still flexible enough for a gluten free vegan. Thank you.
09/03/2019: We booked for Saturday lunch having been turned away on a previous occasion when most tables were taken up by a large party. It’s a relatively short menu complemented by a small table blackboard announcing the soup of the day and a plate of locally sourced charcuterie (choices listed on the reverse) with cheese salad, cornichons and focaccia, a sort of variant upon a ploughman’s lunch explained the waitress. Rather looking for a sharing plate of charcuterie to start I ordered instead a game terrine which was served with toast and a dollop of chutney on top. This came at the same time as my daughter’s fish and chips and peas from the bespoke children’s menu. And a very superior fish and chips it was too both the crunchy batter on the fish and the chips perfectly cooked. So impressive was it my wife was pleased in advance she had ordered an adult portion as her main which came with a sophisticated swirl of mushy peas. The piece de resistance, however, was probably my chunky fillet of hale wrapped in pancetta on a potato cake swimming in a creamy sauce with sundried tomato and samphire. A truly classy dish. A 175ml glass of Pinot Grigio competitively priced at £4.75 complimented this nicely. Double espressos came with crunchy Italian biscotti.

The Old Greenhouse

Fishbourne, Chichester, 45-60£
02/03/2019: My wife and I had our valentines meal here, the food was excellent, the restaurant is very small and cosy for an intimate dining experience. The wine list is good and reasonably priced - I recommend the koonunga hill Shiraz. Nic comes and introduces himself between main and dessert he was very friendly and chatty. We shall definitely be back! I recommend this place to anyone who likes good food in a intimate setting.
24/02/2019: Having booked for a Saturday night the three of us turned up at the Old Greenhouse. I am not sure what we were expecting as it’s a very small venue. We had a very warm welcome and didn’t waste any time in ordering wine and food. We were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed our starters which were delicious.

The Gribble Inn

North Mundham, Chichester
13/03/2019: Lovely ambience and has its own brewery so lots of drinks to choose from, an extensive bar snack menu, does milkshakes too and offers a good food menu. Although we just popped in for drinks. Seems a very local pub, but don't let that put you off as warm and welcoming. Just outside of Chichester and would recommend. The food did look lovely.
09/03/2019: Took our 2 mothers there for an evening meal end of feb as an early mothers day treat.

Ask Italian

Chichester North, Chichester, >100£
13/03/2019: Popped in today as been told great things about it and excited about some of the dessert options, only 3 covers in the restaurant, we were greeted politely and asked to sit wherever we like. Waited for menus or drinks orders but no service. A couple arrived and we're greeted with a shot of a juice I assume and menus before even seated, gave the benefit of the doubt and waited another 5 minutes, another customer arrived and again got the same service as the previous couple. We decided to just leave it and go elsewhere, walked past 3 team and not one attempted to check if okay or even give a goodbye. The fact there was more team on shift that customers shocked us a bit to receive such poor service.
01/03/2019: Where can i start. The beginning. And so we begin. I entered to a great atmosphere. The gang were all happy, smiley, and you could tell, its a great place to dine. If ASK chichester was a human, and they were to appear on channel 4’s come dine with me, they’d certainly win the programme, with flying colours!! So we were sat at, what i can only describe as, a table. We werent rushed, we werent forgotten about, and after a while of looking at our menu, we were asked if some beverages were required. Now, i dont like to call myself a big drinker, but today, i thought why not? And so i ordered myself a Po-roni. And my friend a coca cola (certainly not as hardcore as myself). Our drinks came nice and chilled, accompanied by a lovely chilled glass. Nice touch, thankyou! Then after ordering, the food arrived! Now, the minute the base of my plate touched the table, i was salivating. The smell. The look. The smell. The portion. Just perfect! All of it. The smell. The look. The smell. The portion. Perfect! Well done mr chef. The food went down better then the season finale of breaking bad. With a busy restaurant at hand, our plates werent cleared straight away, but that was fine for us, as we were oh too happy to watch the young boys power-mince and sachet around the tables! My my my hard workers. We were asked if we wanted a dessert, and as tempted as i was for something hot to be melting in my mouth, we turned the offer down. After my Po-roni i was already ready to leave. A big thankyou to jamie, who certainly made our visit perfect. And a big shout to mr DJ chefman, who every now and then, were playing some big big tunes. We will certainly visit again. And we cant wait to be coming back. Thanks, thanks, thanks!!!!

The Sir Roger Tichborne

Plaistow, Chichester, <20£
18/03/2019: We were invited along to my Uncles 60th birthday celebrations here on 17th March.
13/03/2019: My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary on Monday and chose the “Tich” for a nice quiet evening. It was lovely, the two girls serving were delightful, efficient and extremely helpful. The food was excellent, very well presented, delicious and really good helpings. We had a lovely evening and will definitely come again, thank you George!

Artie's Kitchen

Chichester South, Chichester
07/03/2019: Have eaten at Artie's several times in the last year or so - most recently in February - before going on to the Festival Theatre. Food has always been excellent. We often have tapas in Spain and the UK and the quality at Artie's is up with the best. The dishes are also very good value, while the service is friendly and efficient. (Noticed a few reviewers complaining about dishes arriving at different times. That is normal at a tapas restaurant when dishes are cooked from fresh. Anyone who has eaten tapas in Spain will know that often occurs. We have always found the service pretty quick, allowing us to arrive at 6 pm and still get to the theatre well on time for a 7.30 performance. Looking forward to going back in May.)
02/03/2019: We discovered Artie's on a visit to Chichester and had the 'fixed lunchtime menu', which we thoroughly enjoyed. The young lady who served us was very friendly and there was no problem at all in adjusting the fixed menu to include more wine and order extra tapas. We're fairly seasoned Spanish travelers and used to tapas menus - Artie's range was wide and 'authentic' and a pleasure to eat. Also, on leaving we discovered, having lingered over lunch, that we were the last customers there, but there'd been no sense of overstaying our welcome or being ushered out. All in all therefore, highly recommended: good food, nice venue, plus very handy for the station. We hope to return soon.

The Stags Head

Westbourne, Chichester
10/02/2019: Last minute visit on Saturday night after searching everywhere looking for pub that served homemade food and was dog friendly. Well wow this is exactly what we got and more. Staff fantastic friendly very welcoming, our little dog spoilt rotten with 3 different members of staff giving her treats. The food OMG I wished we were more local. Varied lots of choice, definitely homemade and everything from starters to puddings were fab. Credit to the landlords, waitress and chef whom we all met and were lovely people. Will definitely return without hesitation if we are in the area again. Keep doing what you are doing.
27/01/2019: The food was ok and the staff were nice and friendly too! I tried Haggis for the first time! I went with my family of 4 and we booked a table for 1pm and we turned up early and they didn't mind us having the table early! Not as many tables! You have to especially if you have a party of 10 as today there was a big group having a birthday celebration. 6 or 7 tables only in restaurant plus the bar area!

The Boulevard

East Wittering, Chichester, <20£
08/03/2019: Called in for breakfast on a cold wet morning and it was really busy.
24/02/2019: This is a restaurant within walking distance of both the beach and the village. It is very popular and rightly so.

Cote Brasserie - Chichester

Chichester South, Chichester
05/03/2019: Eaten several times and one of the best restaurants in Chichester. The staff are great. Personal favourites are the fougasse, steak (and steak frites), coupe noir and chocolate mousse, with a glass of house red! Enjoy!
24/02/2019: Have eaten here on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed. Set Menu Monday to Friday great value for money. Early bird Menu for theatre goers available. I have always booked on line in advance as Chichester branch is popular during lunchtimes.

The George

Chichester North, Chichester, 20-30£
13/03/2019: Visited on 3rd March 2019 at lunchtime for Sunday roast. Came with a family. Really good atmosphere and extremely busy which shows that the restaurant is doing really well. I had a pint of the George and the roast pork which both were fantastic. Everybody on the table really enjoyed there meal. I think from previous reviews you can see that the George was down members of staff and this really showed in the delay of the meals coming out. I personally think although you may not agree but maybe customers should be told this when they turn up? Or maybe not take so many covers if you know you are down members of staff?. I will return and hopefully next time give it a 5 star review...
06/03/2019: Recently visited the George on a busy Saturday evening, what an amazing night.

Midhurst, Chichester, <20£
04/03/2019: As a local I pop into Midhurst for coffee fairly often; but have also started taking visitors and meeting friends there for breakfast too... which is, in my opinion, the best in Midhurst - good quality ingredients, cooked well and selection of choices including the vegetarian breakfast (which o always choose even though I do normally eat meat!)
03/03/2019: We have been to Fitzcanes a few times, never disappointed but the ice cream sundaes are now becoming compulsory every time we go into Midhurst. The menu is great, sensible items for cafe clientele at reasonable prices with excellent service and tables in the garden for warm days. Thoroughly recommend this place.

Riviera Restaurant

Selsey South, Chichester
11/03/2019: Stumbled across this place on our travels and was glad we did. Initialoybstopped for a milkshake which was lovely and the next day we all had waffles and ice cream which were to die for. Very reasonable prices and very pleasant staff. The place was always busy no matter what time we went past.
10/03/2019: We were away on a family break and looked for local resturant in which this popped up and seemed to have the most variety on menu and to suit all of family. Couldn’t believe the amount of choice, the food was amazing, the service was great and the atmosphere was just right and suited a family with small children’s hich can be stressful eating out. Will definitely be back and recommend

11/03/2019: Went to the Woodmancote this evening for a last minute dinner. I had the duck special and my partner had the fish pie. Both meals were superb and we didn’t wait around for them for long at all. Friendly, welcoming service and great food as always.
