Tilly's of Midhurst

Midhurst, Chichester
19/03/2020: Popped in last Saturday, needed some cheer with all the doom and gloom going on.Super tea room, husband and wife team who really have their business fine tuned. Delicious all home prepared and cooked food, and we felt great value for money. Other restaurants and tea rooms should visit to see how it should be done. Absolutely to be recommended and a return visit with friends is in order by us. Thank you, Mike & Jane, Chichester
11/03/2020: Love Tilly’s so much! It our favourite local! The homemade food here is delicious. The two owners are also doing a fantastic job in creating a great local cafe, with great food!

The Sir Roger Tichborne

Plaistow, Chichester, <20£
19/04/2020: Whether it’s the food, the environment, the service or the attentive care from the owner, this has to be one of the best places for drink or food in the area. Looking forward to a return after the lockdown
06/04/2020: Their restaurant food is always fantastic and in this time of lockdown we thought we would try their delivery/takeout service.. we were not disappointed. We ordered fish, scampi and chips which were all delicious. The meals arrived promptly and were still hot as if served in the pub. The fish was meaty and perfectly cooked with light, crispy and non greasy batter. The chips were very morish, fluffy and crisp. We (family) all agreed it’s prob the best take out fish and chips in the area, and that includes the fish&chip shops. We will be calling The Tichborne again to help keep pur spirits up in this time of lockdown and would highly recommend that you do too

Thyme & Chillies

Donnington, Chichester
03/03/2020: I took my wife and parents for dinner in November, we have been there twice before. Don't expect to see Chicken Tikka Masala on the menu, Traditional Indian cuisine and it is lovely.
02/03/2020: well that got your attention!!We have been to this restaurant a few times in the past 2 years and everytime the food and the service gets better. This is not the run of the mill indian restaurant it is a high breed. Food never ceases to amase . Quality is excellent and all looked after by Thomas and Roy and their team. This place is a must

Purchases Bar and Restaurant

Chichester South, Chichester
16/03/2020: A friend and I chose to come here for our quarterly get-together based on the reviews and were not disappointed. Dan, our server, went out of his way to make our lunchtime a real pleasure and the food was amazing. We were chatting away for over 2 hours but there was no rush for us to leave, although they were getting busier. We will most certainly be back.
09/03/2020: We visited for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed the food. An interesting and varied menu and easily catered for Gluten Free requirements. We had a table in the are just before the opening to the “courtyard”, which was quite noisy and also drafts every time the door to the courtyard opened.Tha5 said, we would happily revisit as the food and service were excellent.

Reina Kitchen

Chichester South, Chichester
05/05/2020: Just ordered from Reinas Via UberEats, the food is delicious and look forward to being able to go into the restaurant to enjoy it again !
13/03/2020: A large group of us really enjoyed the food and atmosphere, perhaps just a bit too noisy as it was difficult to hear anyone talk but a good time was had by all. Good staff attention and a fun place to eat.

East Wittering, Chichester
13/03/2020: Have visited a few times now and can’t fault any of our visits. All main meals are vegetarian (most can be ordered as vegan) and nearly all are also gluten free. You can order sides (some are meat or fish) but you don’t have to as the meals are enough in themselves.Nice decor and great service from friendly staff. Not many tables so imagine you’d need to book ahead for a weekend (we visited Tuesday this week and you’d imagine it to be quiet but still a few other diners there). Can’t wait to visit again which will hopefully be next week when the in-laws visit!
11/03/2020: We had a long weekend in the Witterings and this restaurant was recommended by our Airbnb host. We really enjoyed the food which was tasty well presented. Mains were exemplary but we slipped off of the vegetarian path a little by having a great sliced lamb side order which was delicious! Good selection of craft ales too if you don't fancy wine. One moan - we were seated at the farthest end of the restaurant by the windows which lacked curtains and it was very cold indeed - could have done with some sort of heater down that end.A small thing and certainly not enough to withhold a 5* rating. Well worth a visit.

The Crate and Apple

Chichester West, Chichester, 20-30£
13/03/2020: OK, I admit, I'm not sure where this fits in. As a restaurant, a bit lacking compared to others. As a pub, there are better traditional local pubs. As a gastropub, yes, up there with the best but somehow, I'm not sure where they want to be. Food was good with some exotic dishes, but then ham, egg and chips isn't quite tge flashy restaurant offering. But then, Guinea fowl is yet soup or pate starters are back to pub grub - get where I'm coming from? Not knocking it, but be prepared. If you want a restaurant, there are others around. If you want a traditional pub, equally others fit that bill. If you fancy a pub meal with a bit more than usual, go for it.
11/03/2020: (Traducido por Google) Muy buen servicio. (Original) Very Good service.

Cassons Restaurant

Tangmere, Chichester, >100£
13/02/2020: Just had another spectacular meal at this fabulous restaurant. The taste sensations, combinations of ingredients & attention to detail are out of this world. The quartet of desserts finish the meal with a flourish. Highly recommend.
05/02/2020: We were all given a very warm welcome by the owner and staff. The food is amazing and Michelin star in its quality and presentation without the Michelin star prices. Very relaxed atmosphere. Great wine at reasonable prices. They made a birthday celebration very special. Highly recommended.

Meghdoots Mystique Masala

Petworth, Chichester
18/03/2020: Superb food as always from this restaurant. We normally have takeaway which is always of a high quality. With the challenges ahead in the current climate with people being told not to venture into restaurants because of this virus, maybe give this restaurants takeaway service a go! You will not be disappointed! Idea for the proprietors! even consider a delivery service!
09/03/2020: I came here for the first time recently for one evening with some work colleagues. Straight away I could tell it was going to be good evening – it was busy, there was a really nice atmosphere & the menu was full of dishes I’d never seen on an Indian menu before - very authentic. All the various dishes we ate from the starters to the mains were full of great flavours & spicing. This along with the friendly & knowledgeable staff made for a highly enjoyable evening.

The Woodmancote Pub

Westbourne, Chichester
09/06/2020: We were recommended to try the Woodmancote by friends and were pleasantly surprised when we ordered Sunday lunch to click and collect. There is a choice of chicken, beef or belly pork. As well as Sunday lunch there are pies on Wednesdays and fish and chips on Fridays.Collection is extremely well organised with a one way system outside which is clearly labelled for social distancing. Food is collected from a doorway and payment is non-contact. When my card decided to need a pin I was given hand sanitiser before pressing the buttons on the machine, and again when I finished. The food is piping hot and in proper metal containers. The roast is really delicious and tastes home-made. The potatoes are fluffy and the vegetables perfectly cooked and a great range - carrots, swede, cauliflower cheese, cabbage plus a Yorkshire pudding. Extra gravy is available. My request for no cheese on the cauliflower was happily accepted and an alternative given. We wish everyone at the Woodmancote well in these difficult times. Our regular Sunday lunches have been looked forward to. Thanks to everyone involved.
27/04/2020: I very rarely write a review but ever since the lock down we have collected our Sunday roast for home and the food has been outstanding. Well done Terry and Mel !!

Crab & Lobster

Sidlesham, Chichester
09/03/2020: Enjoyed our meals here Sunday lunchtime. Hood menu lots if fish. I had fillet steak chips watercress ( I had to ask for more as only a few pieces as a garnish ). half a tomato’s and half a sep mushroom ( I would have liked a whole tomato and a whole mushroom as quite pricey at £30 ) but the meal was delicious and have been here before and would return .
24/02/2020: Just returned after a long absence as previously we were underwhelmed. However, that is behind us as our recent visit ends to be applauded. The menu is not extensive and seems unnecessarily fussy to understand. However, the Venison with salted caramel tartlet to follow was nothing short of "orgasmic" Good Beer and choice of wines by the glass. We'll be back.

The Old Greenhouse

Fishbourne, Chichester, 45-60£
14/01/2020: Super meal for 14 of us celebrating a "big" birthday in style! Lovely choices of courses; food presented beautifully & served piping hot; mein host, Nik, always attentive & amusing! The whole family were delighted with the venue & quality of the food (good portions, too!) & we were able to enjoy our own wines, specially paired with the food (corkage charge reasonable). We came back 3 weeks later for a final meal here & again enjoyed a superb evening!
05/01/2020: Last ever meal at this charming intimate restaurant. Wonderful food, fabulous choices, puddings to leave home for...all in all a fitting end to a much loved venue.

Potters Cafe

Selsey North, Chichester
04/11/2019: I was visiting some special friends in the Midlands and had the bright idea of taking them a treat from Selsey. Having bought a dressed crab a few days earlier and found it the best crab ever, I plumped for the Crab Lobster Prawn Box and two more Dressed Crabs. We were all blown away - absolute perfection.
28/09/2019: The most wonderful seafood from this lovely family run business......from the fishermen sons catching the fish right through to the friendly ladies who make & serve the delicious food. 👍🦞🦀🦐

Ask Italian

Chichester North, Chichester, >100£
12/04/2020: It was a lovely clean restaurant, service was very quick and the staff were really polite and friendly. 10/10 would recommend and will be visiting again.
12/03/2020: Had the pea and ricotta soufflé, pomodoro, and the warm pear tart. The soufflé was anything but a soufflé, and gave more of the resemblance of an upside down cup cake. However the taste was of the actual dish was some what acceptable. The pomodoro was not terrible but it was neither great. This was due to the fact that the pasta was not cooked al dente and the actual sauce was nothing remarkable. As for the dessert this was a real disappointment. As you can tell by the picture the tart looked like it had been sitting on the counter for at least 3 days and certainly tasted of such. The pears were sloppy and the ice cream tasted as if it was some knock off supermarket ice cream. Overall, except for the fluffy bread sticks and the delicious complimentary home lemonade it was a lackluster meal.

Tiffins Tea Room

Petworth, Chichester
07/05/2020: Really tasty food and great for a cup of tea and cake. Lovely staff who make you feel welcome. Would highly recommend!
14/03/2020: Wonderful cost atmosphere. Very friendly and attentive staff. Lovely scones amongst other things! Thank you for a lovely visit!
