We found Potter's on a trip to the Pagham local nature reserve. We both had crab rolls which were excellent. They fill the roll with a good amount of crab and nice addition of a few crisps. And all served up in compostable boxes and bags, brilliant!Friendly, cheerful staff too.A nice find.Thank you!

Visited on what was supposed to be a cold, cloudy day. Picked up crab sandwiches to eat there and a dressed lobster to take home. Sat eating the sandwiches overlooking the sea when the sun came out and all was well in the world. Sandwiches were amazing and their coffee's good too. Lobster was fresh, tender and sweet. Very reasonable prices and the ladies are all smiles. Thank you

The best place around for crab, prawns and other seafood, much of which is brought in on their own boats. The girls are really nice and very helpful.Best to order up front as catches are weather dependent.Take-away only at the moment because of the Corona virus

I was visiting some special friends in the Midlands and had the bright idea of taking them a treat from Selsey. Having bought a dressed crab a few days earlier and found it the best crab ever, I plumped for the Crab Lobster Prawn Box and two more Dressed Crabs. We were all blown away - absolute perfection.

My wife and I love seafood, in particular Lobster and crab. So for our anniversary, I looked for a local seafood restaurant. Found Potters with great reviews. As we wanted lobster and rang and left a message and just as I was about to send a text, they rang me back. The best dressed crab we have ever had, along with the lobster and prawns, we both had a lobster and crab box each, amazing value at £15 a box. The crab was so good, we had to have a crab sandwich as dessert! We took our own wine, which wasn't any problem. We will be back, no doubt.Great service before and during our visit and lovely food. Cannot recommend Potters highly enough. Thank you for making our day so memorable.Jon and Jules.

We came here with 3 young kids and 2 moms. Enjoyed seafood lunch/picnic at the beach near by the hut/cafe! Loved lobster salad.Seafood platter was awesome. Amount of food and quality were superb. Good soft big bread bun for sandwich. I cannot recommend enough! I love to come by again.

Amazing discovery. The best Lobster and Prawn roll I have ever eaten. Period. I would have had another but didn't want to appear greedy. Impossible to get any more seafood into a roll. Simply wonderful fresh seafood.

The freshest crab. The best Lobster I’ve ever tasted. The seafood sampler box is fabulous value at around £15. Great sandwiches, ice cream, coffee. If you’re within an hour of Selsey and you like your seafood you need toCome here. And after your lunch pop into the RNLI opposite and support their great work.

Potters is in a fantastic spot next to the Selsey Lifeboat Station. Stopping for a cuppa and a prawn sandwich should be compulsory for everyone walking round the East Beach part of Selsey!

As the weather was nice and warm decided to have a walk round Selsey and found ourselves by the East beach at the new lifeboat station. After having a long walk was really thirsty and luckily found this little place by the lifeboat station. Was greeted by 2 lovely ladies who served us various drinks. They have seating area so you can enjoy your drink and was accommodating in giving me a bowl to put water in for my dog (forgot his travel bowl). Thank you

Excellent crab salads and cockles, beautifully simple and well presented for a seafood shack. Delicious and good value. Sat outside in the sun. Finished with a local Caroline’s ice cream (scrumptious vanilla and coffee). Very accommodating and friendly ladies, who didn’t rush us even though it was close to their closing time. Seems popular with the locals, too! And then a visit to the Lifeboat station. “Denise and Eric” on an ON 1327 (13-20) class lifeboat. Such simple pleasures for a sunny day in Selsey in September!

Just come back from visiting Potters for the first time and it won’t be the last. It’s in a little kiosk right next to the Lifeboat station so just follow the signs. There are about three tables with chairs outside and a bench, but the beach with plenty of benches is a stone’s throw away. We chose the seafood platter which comes in a nice cardboard box so you can take it away easily if you wish. It consisted of a dressed crab, half lobster and plenty of shell on prawns all caught locally earlier in the day by the other halves of the lovely ladies who serve you. How much fresher can you get and so delicious and so different from the stuff you get in supermarkets. You can also get various sandwiches, seafood and cheese etc and local cockles plus winkles, mussel meat, jellied eels etc. We also had a mug of coffee and a couple of delicious ice creams made by a local farmer’s wife. Little tip, there are paper napkins but if you are shelling prawns etc take a wet wipe with you or just walk down to the public toilets a few yards away. (They are old but clean and well kept.) Of course you can then have a look around the lifeboat station and their little gift shop looked after by two lovely ladies.

This little cafe is in fact in the car park of the RNLI station at Selsey. It is run by the wives of the fisherman who go out overnight and return with the catch from which the lobster, crabs and prawns are selected so it does not come much fresher than this. Obviously if the catch is poor then less will be available for the cafe to sell. They also buy in some other items from either Portsmouth or Billingsgate to ensure a wider range of seafood. You can have a sandwich, etc. or various selections of seafood at very reasonable prices. They can do them in a box so you can take them home or walk 50 metres to the seafront and sit on one of the many benches there by the RNLI boat. They only have 3-4 tables outside their serving hut so seating is quite limited although people don’t stay that long. Also try the local ice cream from a dairy just a few miles up the road, it is also delicious. Teas, coffees and other drinks are available. We drove some 50 miles just to try it and we weren’t disappointed. Just be aware that they are only open Wed - Sun, 10.30- 14.30 and likely to be closed Dec & Jan. Might be worth phoning them if you are uncertain whether they are open as Selsey is a little remote (Chichester 8 miles). The good news is that Bus 51 from Chichester stops just outside the RNLI building.

What a wonderful find, we were told about Potters by a local woman whilst walking on the beach. It is just a small shed like building, with seating outside, very clean with a hygiene rating of 5. Very pleasant ladies running Potters. The crab sandwiches and home cooked ham sandwiches we had were the best, sandwiches stuffed with filling, with or without salad. Just the job after a long walk along East Beach. Great find, will go again next visit.

This was our first visit to the Chichester tearoom, visited Storrington many times. We were as delighted by this venue as the the first time we visited the starrington tearoom. We had coffee and a Joanna’s breakfast and an avocado breakfast. We’d highly recommend both.

Totally nearly missed it however glad we popped in. Lovely little cafe with a nice outdoor seating area. Both had ham and cheese panini and they were first class. Young guy who served and looked after us had perfect customer service and the coffee was amazing. Great find and will be back south !

Popped in to use the loo but it looked so clean and bright I wanted to stay! Staff were really nice and helpful. Pleasant environment and very clean, ladies were just opening up and place was visited within the first ten minutes but still plenty of space. At a glance I could see they sold panini and ice creams, and was way traditional tea room.

This cafe is our go-to when I visit my girlfriend at uni. We always get a vanilla iced matcha and some form of sweet treat, which never disappoints. The place is lovely and the staff are extremely welcoming!
