The best restaurants serving Default food in Skipton North Craven Yorkshire and The Humber

Visited last Saturday for cocktails. Ordered 2. One was basically ice and the other a half filled prosecco glass. Poor quality for the price paid. No response from a message sent. Would not recommend.

Very sweet sugary ice cream. Good quality ish, limited selection of flavours. Was only 1 staff member working the entire day clearly overworked and thus overwhelmed. Hygiene of shop was pretty good aside from the fact the ice cream scoop was plunged into dirty milky ice cream water to “clean” it. The thought of customers and myself seeing that really put me off and made me feel sick, especially with that dirty residue dripping onto ice creams. Food hygiene standards need to be improved but aside from that a decent ice cream shop.

We went for lunch and ordered a jacket potato with baked beans, jacket potato with tuna mayo and a children's sausage roll with beans. When it came the sausage roll had been microwaved and was soggy this was not edible as it was also tough. The jacket potato with beans was really dry and I could not eat it, they were supposed to be served with a salad garnish and coleslaw which was so small it wasn't worth putting on the plate and the presentation was terrible. When I complained the attitude of the manager was disgraceful she did not know what was wrong and never has complaints. Bit of advice for her maybe listen to what your customers are telling you. I would definitely not recommend this place at all worst lunch I have ever had and the Manager would only refund the children's sausage roll. Overall very disappointing and attitude of staff bad.

We have not been here for a long time, even though we live in skipton me and my parner got fish and chips each and a tub of gravy and a cold drink absolutely scrumptious fish perfect and delicious crunchy batter, chips just as good sat round the corner on a bench lovely.... Fish freshly fried for each customer Very very friendly polite family who own it and run it. Best chip shop in skipton. Defo be back soon. Thanks guys 💕 Lisa and phil x

Very disappointed. The mozzarella sticks were not homemade neither were the accompanying sauces. So easy to make these fresh too and really would expect this from an Italian restaurant. The pizza bases lacked in a pinch of salt. Pasta was ok but could have been so much nicer.

We are regular attenders at this cafe at brunch time, today we were served with the sandwiches we requested. My complaint relates to observations of staff and other customers. Several customers were disappointed in the lack of appropriate foods available. They were told there was no white bread although this was a confectioners/bakery and only 1.00pm. The same customer then asked for pie and peas only to be told that the staff member would need to check if any pies but certainly no mushy peas. Also lacking choice of condiments Another customer was told there were no jacket potatoes. The lack of provisions was bad enough but when the customers were dealt with by a curt and almost rude young girl who acted similarly with several customers then that was enough to put people off further visits. I have noted the review in July mentioning miserable older staff in the shop. With the best will in the world in the present climate these attitudes do not persuade customers to return or attract new customers by word of mouth. Suggest corrective measures are taken sooner rather than later. Skipton should be providing the best service particularly as parking charges have rocketed to an exorbitant level and people spending less hours there.

My first visit to this pub and what a change from many of Skiptons tourist orintated watering holes a true"local". Excellent choice of cask beers and some quickfire crac with the barman. I'll be in again.

Highly recommend. Been tonight for my son’s 18th birthday, he's got special needs so younger than his age. 11 of us in our party. We had balloons on arrival and they were happy to take my cake and bring it out to sing happy birthday for him after our meals. Super friendly service and everyone enjoyed the food. Quick service and just a great atmosphere. Thanks for making his birthday special 🤩🤩.

Fantastic pub, my husband is a cask ale man and says the Theakstons is excellent. Then on another level is the food, just wow, if the amazing chef puts on moussaka you've just got to have it, it really is fabulous and is right up there with our favourite Corfu taverna.. Next and not least is the amazing staff, so very welcoming, warm and friendly, thank you we had a fabulous time. We will certainly come back to see you again x

Half of our order was missing, it was cold and flavourless, was so disappointed as it was the first time trying Chinese from there as we usually order from a different one in skipton. Won't be ordering again

Not very accessible friendly. Asked for table with leg room so disabled could stretch leg out (knees lock otherwise & he can’t stand up). Refused as we were only a party of 2. Yet 10 minutes later, table requested given away to another party of 2. Very uncomfortable in more ways than one. Disappointing.

First time here & will be our last Scottish man RUDE, walked in cafe to order food and was told to go outside & read the sign. Didn't see it as it was carded & facing the wall. I did mention it couldn't be seen, so he came out with tape, taped it bk and said here's some for your mouth 😡😡😡 Food ordered Sausage and egg on toast. Sausage dripping in fat so had to remove. I did try to eat but made me gag WILL NOT RETURN

Good food and service very clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Prices good. Cafe has history on the walls too.

Lovely café with good choice of food and friendly service. Gluten free options (bread) available. I had a very nice Wensleydale and apple sandwich

Let’s start with the positives. One burger and all the trimmings plus Korean bau buns and a side of gourmet chips. Delicious. Worth the wait On arrival, a very slow moving young man took rather an awkward slow pace to tell us tilt hat our dogs were allowed into the area at front of restaurant- or outside (it was raining!) He showed us a table and then walked away. No menus, nothing. We eventually found a menu and then a young girl came to let us know there was a 30 min wait on food. Why didn’t the guy who sat us down tell us this five mins earlier? 🤷 Ordered food and drinks. Drinks came quickly. Food was just short of 30 mins but we didn’t mind. We were entertained by lots of people coming in from what was now torrential rain and being offered outside seats if they wanted to bring their dogs in. One or two were clearly irritated. Took far too long to get the bill. Appreciate it was busy but the 3 male staff could easily have moved quicker / paid more attention ( the girl was doing her best) Must be infuriating for the chefs. The food is lovely. Also 5 on hygiene
