How can you get two cups of tea so wrong! The miniscule beaker, huge pyramidal leaf teabag and very little water for £5.80. Chap behind counter refused a hot water top up ‘saying pointedly’we’re a business not a charity!’. He’s a lot to learn about hospitality and serving Jo and Joe Public. Still, it was nice sat in the doorway watching the world go by and the food looked good. Skipton is well worth a visit.

Whilst working for a Visually Impaired (VI) Charity, I took one of my VI Students to the café (in an emergency situation) to access the toilets. I did notice the sign stating 'customer toilets' however my VI student was unable to read this, and we sadly did not have time to explain our reasons on entering, as my focus was to reach the toilet asap. On exiting, we were confronted by an extremely rude, aggressive, and intimidating waiter (small stature with short hair), who cornered us in the doorway and was exhibiting very angry gestures and unfriendly body language. He did not allow us to explain ourselves and did not want to listen to our motives. This experience was extremely negative for my student and caused a very high level of anxiety. As a VI charity our main aim is to instil confidence and independence in our students and to build self-advocacy skills, as well as trusting in the general public for help. This negative experience was the exact opposite of what I was aiming to achieve and could have serious mental health implications, affecting learning going forward. I would NEVER step foot in this café EVER AGAIN and I advise others to stay away. Interestingly and sadly this experience does not sound like an isolated incident when reading other 'bad' reviews, stating the same involvements with the word 'rude' coming up every time and focusing on one waiter in particular!!! Please educate yourself and your staff around inclusivity and understanding disabilities (whether seen or hidden) and show some human decency and look up the word 'empathy!'

Absolutely fantastic service. Met with family who had travelled back home from New Zealand so there was a large group and the staff had no trouble at all making the room for us all. Staff were so friendly and I think it was the owner / manager even offered to take photos of the whole group. I'm not one for dishing out 5 stars if it's only been the service you expect.... All the staff here were genuinely that good and fully deserving of some praise.

We had previously visited here 4 years ago for breakfast, and in between only for a cup of coffee and we felt then it had been great. Today we came for breakfast, we both had a breakfast sandwich, my partner had Quorn Sausage with a fried egg, the fried egg was cooked in with the bacon! He could taste it!! I had a bacon and sausage sandwich, the bacon was overcooked (burnt) and hard, as were the sausages. The aftertaste was awful. The tea they use is of very low quality (especially for the prices charged). We were very disappointed, we won't be coming back, No eye contact from the owner, but the waitresses were very polite and friendly.

Visited the cafe today for a coffee with a friend. The coffee was lovely but unfortunately one of the staff members were very rude to a delivery driver, making a scene in front of customers about the delivery. The poor man was only doing his job and the way he was spoken to was very rude and unprofessional. Such a shame as the coffee and environment was lovely.

This is a friendly, local family run coffee shop / cafe. We've been a few times and the coffee and cakes are really lovely, as is the owner. Definitely worth a visit.

My preferred coffee shop in Skipton - friendly, great coffee, good food! We're regulars there and have been for some years. Very pleased they survived through the pandemic.

We visit Caffe Capo very regularly. The prices are reasonable, the cakes all delicious and the staff fantastic. Look no further, this is the best.

Four of us came here with a toddler in a push chair. Tables were moved to accommodate us and a highchair provided. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. The food and service were excellent

Called here for a break on our way to Whitby. We had a breakfast and brew each, food was fab and staff constantly cleaning and tidying. Very good place which is reasonably priced, recommended.

Visited this cafe today just for a light lunch. They had this covid stuff mastered, masks, rules, table service etc all down to a tee. All the while making you feel very welcome. Great service and lovely staff. Had a cheese toastie and my princess had a sandwich, both hands cup of nice, strong tea. Lovely.

Having just walked over a mile along the canal side it was time for a break and a breather. We have liked this family run cafe before- so much better than the national chains.Keen on masks and track/trace plus a one way system but still very friendly, decent coffee and no sense of rush. Nice range of kids sandwiches too. Lots of local trade - all on first name terms and nothing too much trouble for the staff.

Called at cafe capo for the first time since lockdown, excellent service, the staff clean and sweep around every table after customers have left. Gent on door very courteous, take tracking details himself and takes you to table where your order is taken and paid for. The absolute BEST COFFEE in Skipton, ( I think I have tried most of the cafes) . THE BEST FOR EVERYTHING IN SKIPTON.

Visited in August, waitress very helpful but no idea about gluten free options. Very poor quality of breakfast, precooked sausages nothing good about the food. Very disappointed as my wife is a celiac.

We ate here for first time on Saturday 8th August and were so impressed we came back Tuesday 11th, the man who I presume to be the owner was very friendly and made us feel very welcome, the food was great as was the service. Quick to get meals out to you, so you are not waiting ages. Highly recommend cafe capo.

Called in here with my family for coffee and cake on the way back to Bolton from a funeral. The staff were really friendly, helpful and lovely. We visited Caffe Capo for the first time on 23rd December. The service was friendly and prompt. We purchased a cappuccino, tea and toasted tea cakes which were lovely. The cafe had a good range of food and drinks and we will visit again.

Yes, I can definitely recommend this cafe right in the heart of town. It is popular with locals as well as tourists which is always a good sign. Cakes were delicious and fresh and they make a good coffee here.

Me and two mates cycled from Colne in the torrential rain to catch the World Championship Road Race pass through Skipton and stumbled upon this absolute gem of the place. The welcome was so warm - bikes weren’t to be left outside in the rain but brought inside despite the obvious wet mess they were going to cause. The owner was an absolute star - great to chat to about cycling and all things Skipton - and the hot chocolates were most welcome after getting soaked to the bone. Ended up staying for three rounds and will definitely be back for more! Highly recommended!

I received a warm welcome from the staff when I arrived and needed a quick bite. My order was made fresh within 5 minutes .It was delicious and reasonably priced.The friendly staff were an added bonus.

Had our 2nd visit to Cafe Capo today, my son is autistic and struggles with public places. In the four years we’ve lived here we’ve struggled to find anywhere to go where he’s comfortable enough just for coffee & cake. Cafe Capo is a hit with him though, its a nice open setting and most importantly the staff are awesome! So friendly! We’re over the moon that we finally have a local cafe for our weekly brew dates!

My friend and I sat outside for a short while having toasties and coffee watching the world go by the waiter was uber friendly drawing me a map to the castle which is very close. Elderflower press drink was lovely, most enjoyable spot for people watching too. Clean and decent menu for a cafe

We were in Skipton for a couple of days and this was the first coffee shop we came across and decided to try it. We weren't disappointed. There is a varied menu along with cakes that looked delicious. It's a small family run establishment and the staff are so friendly and helpful. We had coffee three times during our short break and the food and staff were lovely every time.

Dodged into this cafe to avoid a rain shower, tempted by the warm welcome and good menu into staying for a light ĺunch. Staff very welcoming and food excellent. Prices good as well. Thankyou, we will use you again when in the area.

Poor experience... the staff were quite cold and not friendly. Being requested to leave the place for paying the coffee to go and not the price for staying in... what’s the big deal... can solve the problem in more peaceful manner...

We decided to have a coffee as we waited to check in at our accommodation and for whatever reason we went into Caffe Capo. I ordered a decaf coffee and when it was brought to the table I could hardly taste coffee I returned and asked for it to be strengthened, when it returned it was slightly better?

I often visit here because there is plenty of space for a pram and a little one. The staff are always very friendly and I like the way they help by carrying your order to your table - very helpful when pushing a pram! The place is always clean and tidy and a good selection of tasty cakes are always on offer. I’ve never eaten a meal here, but sandwiches etc always look good.

Skipton is always a good stopping off point when travelling from the West Coast to the East Coast and there's certainly no shortage of cafes for travellers not wanting a full meal in the ample number of restaurants.

Went in for a drink and a sit whilst visiting the Christmas market, as expected it was busy but we still found a table.

Have enjoyed visiting here many times. The service has always been top class and friendly until my last visit (and it WILL be my last). I went to order coffee and was astounded to be told that, after my previous visit, a teaspoon was missing from the saucer!!! I could not believe that I was actually being accused of taking it. Why would anyone want to take a teaspoon? I went ahead and paid for coffee and a piece of cake feeling so totally embarrassed and when I looked at the bill I noticed that I had been charged 40 pence for a miscellaneous item - obviously I had been charged for the spoon. It wasn't the 40 pence that concerned me it was the fact that the certain member of staff had refused to accept my denial. This incident has really upset me - I was accused of being a thief - I CANNOT BELIEVE IT

went in for a coffee I was in my wheelchair, the staff made me feel very welcome, helping my husband with the door and moving a chair for me to sit at table, the cakes looked very tasty, but we had just had breakfast at our hotel, would recommend the coffee it was delicious used the toilet facilities too, plenty of room to move around this large coffee shop, would definitely go again when we go back to Skipton

Mum and I had lunch here on Wednesday and the food, drinks and cakes were gorgeous. Very pleasant and efficient staff . A fabulous benefit was that it had brilliant air conditioning . We loved it so much we called back again on our way to the car park for a drink before driving home.

We spent 4 weeks in Skipton and enjoyed EVERY day the excellent, outstanding cappuchino as well as the fantastic toasties (f.ex. cheddar & mushroom). The atmosphere was always and any time very good and relaxing. The boss Anthony and his team really do their best to please all customers.

Really enjoyed our first visit to Caffe Capo - only had time for a cuppa but choice of light lunches and cakes was excellent - Friendly service.

Sunday 13th May 2018 Fantastic weather,Fantastic Caffè. Beautiful English tea topped off with a really delicious coconut and raspberry cake. Tony the owner was really professional and friendly.

Visited here last weekend with my elderly mother whilst on a coach trip with National holidays. We had a lovely flat white coffee and a jacket potato with prawns and salad. Service is excellent, lovely food, very clean and excellent staff.

We called in here on a rainy day...needed a drink and a rest! A chap immediately came over to clear and wipe down a table for us .....there were four of us but only three chairs and a stool ......which my husband had no problem with. But no...another chair was brought over too. He made a few jokes.... very pleasant and welcoming! We went to order our drinks.....I also asked for a pot of hot water with my earl grey tea......no problem they gave me a small jug.......but he told me just to bring my pot back when I had used some and he would fill it up for me if I wanted. I had no need of this....but was Happy that nothing was too much trouble. Husband enjoyed his huge slice of bakewell!

The food was good and reasonably priced. The toasties and the jacket potatoes were all delicious. The ginger tea was excellent, a very high quality tea comparing to lots others we tried in other places. We went twice in our 3-day trip! The place is clean, tidy, spacious, bright and light, very comfortable. We felt very relaxing there for two afternoons. The boss Tony is a super nice guy, extremely friendly and treating every customer as a friend. It's now called Caffe Capo but will soon be renamed (or might have already by now) to Zio's which follows the family business. Highly recommended!

This place is absolutely great. Always a warm welcome from the boss and staff. We regularly pop in for a coffee and a cup of cream for my son.

I can't help it; every time I go into Caffe Capo I have the same thing. The tuna, cheese and red onion toastie and a latte. It is well made, tasty and filling. The latte comes hot & smooth and I love it. I've never had one of the wonderful looking cakes, as I'm always full after the sandwich, but they look great. I highly recommend this café-it is traditional, clean, the toilets are the best in Skipton and the staff helpful and friendly.

We visit each time we come to Skipton as the staff are very friendly and there is a good selection of snacks and drinks for afternoon tea. The staff are very friendly helping bringing the food and drinks over and opening the door on the way out. I would highly recommend this cafe.

Called in on the off chance and I must say what a lovely meal. Its traditional Italian meals, excellent size portions. The staff are very friendly and even the chef came out to ensure we were enjoying our meal. They told us they are going to be adding pizzas to their menu soon so we will definitely be back to try those. The cakes to end of the meal were very nice as well. We would definitely recommend a visit to this restaurant in Skipton.

We called in to Caffe Capo yesterday morning after a difficult journey with horrendous rain and heavy traffic.

Despite being very busy on Monday bank holiday the service from the staff was fantastic, fresh made sandwiches were great, the coffee was good.

Lovely latte. Excellent price at £2.50 Super clean loo's which is a bonus these days, cakes looked gorgeous but we didn't want to spoil lunch so had to resist. Staff polite. Not been in here for a while and it has changed hands since last visited. Very friendly new owner. Chatty and pleasant and staff helpful and polite. Food is freshly cooked and nicely presented. High standards of cleanliness. Toilets immaculate. Always get a seat in here and good access for prams/ chairs etc. One of the best cafes in skipton.

When visiting Skipton today with my friends we decided to go into Café Capo for a drink after our journey, and I must say we were greeted with a friendly atmosphere and a smile . I am not a big tea drinker but do enjoy a small cup , where large mugs and cups put me off as they are too big the proprietor kindly gave me a small expresso cup for which I was most grateful and the lovely girl assistant brought me a tray with a teabag,and hot water in my cup for me to brew my own.Now that's what I call service and I thank them for it, I wish all café's and restaurants would take note as most times I am given without any choice a large mug/cup.So full marks to this establishment for being so kind and accommodating and my friends enjoyed their coffee also , on our next visit to Skipton we shall definately be coming back here ...Thank you !!

We stayed at the Rendezvous Hotel in Skipton yesterday and walked along the canal into the town centre of Skipton. We got caught in a bit of a sleet shower and it was very cold so we were looking forward to going into one of the many coffee shops in Skipton for a pit stop. So glad we chose Caffe Capo as it was warm and friendly there. We had a tasty toasted sandwich each and a nice cup of coffee, and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's nice to give business to an independent cafe. We would certainly call in again if re visiting Skipton

I was in Skipton on business and wanted a harm soup and sandwich, they had lot to offer staff super friendly and the lady said ham salad s/wich was good well went with that and am glad I did had the tomato soup also, I will be back again when in the area lovely warm,clean staff are 5 star

Skipton is full of tea/coffee shops and cafes. All of the usual suspects are here - Costa, Nero, Starbucks etc. as well as some independents.In my humble opinion Capo serves up the best coffee in North Yorkshire and it is well worth you turning your back on those big chains to give it a try. I have not eaten here other than to have a toasted teacake which was very nice.I will certainly continue to call here for a coffee in preference to anywhere else in Skipton.

Nice cafe with super coffee. Clean and tidy. Not too crowded its a large building so there is lots of space around seating areas. Staff very welcoming and nice. Good Wifi

My wife & I had lovely cakes here yesterday - Zucchini with lemon & lime curd, and chocolate and orange cake - delicious! The staff excellent and lovely friendly. We will go back again.

Popped in for a prawn salad sandwich. Had a slight issue when it arrived but the staff went over and out of their way to resolve it. Excellent service.

Come here nearly everyday with my husband and 7month old son. All the staff are extremely friendly, the drinks r good, the food is good, never real rushed even when arriving 10mins before closing time. Our little boy is made to feel very welcome. X

I come here most days for a latte, we are always welcomed with a smile, the place has plenty of seats/tables inside and a few outside on the street. The service is next to none always friendly. I won't go anywhere else for a coffee and light snack.

After my wife had been to Yarndale I promised her a coffee in Skipton. Caffe Capo was a lucky find. Good coffee and helpful staff. Cakes were attractive, but pre cut chocolate fudge cake was a little dry.Cooking smells tended to take away a little from the experience. But we will go back.

I call here every day the staff and food Is great I tend to come hear as they have so much space.When I go and get my coffee the smiles from the staff are %100 they smile all the time I have a laugh with them every day. Me and my wife called in for a light lunch and we both ordered toasties. They were Ok similarly priced to many other cafes. They were nicer than your big chains food such as Costa however not nice enough to warrant another visit in a town like Skipton which seems to have cafes on every corner

We enjoyed a lovely lunch here. My daughter had jacket potato with cheese which she thoroughly enjoyed. I had a toasted sandwich which was very nice too.

We usually pop in here for early morning coffee and a snack or lunch when we visit Skipton. The coffee is always hot and of good quality beans. Toasted teacakes are yummy! Toasties at lunch are really good and a variety of choice. Although we only pop in maybe every t other week the staff remember you and are always friendly.

Lovely friendly cafe, 2nd visit in a week and food has been excellent each time. Reasonably priced, good choice of snacks and beautiful cakes! Definitely worth a visit. Always plenty of customers in, spacious tables and a good choice if your in a wheel chair or with a pram as plenty of room and no steps.

Caffe Capo looked attractive and well patronised, so in we went and we were very pleased to have done so. The welcome and service were friendly and efficient and our simple lunch of toasted sandwiches was very enjoyable. We pushed the boat out and shared some delicious cake and purchased more for later consumption - which were still fresh and delicious the next day . The loose tea was a real bonus. We felt that we had come across a real gem and thoroughly recommend it.

Since my last visit, I am pleased to say that there is a small range of loose teas available including Green, Moroccan Mint, English Breakfast, Earl Grey and decaffeinated. Staff were pleasant, spacious, clean and nice decor. A good independent café to visit when in Skipton.

This a great place for a coffee and a sandwich or cake. Nice tasting coffee and not too strong, just as I like it. Didn't eat on this occasion but looked like they had some nice cakes to choose from.

This is a fairly new independent Italian café with service with a smiley face. The ambience is good and the coffee nice and smooth. Not tried the food so I can't comment on that but the menu looked fine.
