The best restaurants serving Default food in West Somerset South West

It's a charming spot in Blue Anchor Bay with a welcoming and friendly staff. The decor adds character to the authentic tavern atmosphere. The menu offers classic pub fare, but I found the food a bit bland and the drinks slightly limited.

Had lunch excellent food excellent service would definitely recommend but highly recommend you book first gets full and busy extremely fast

Northfield Hotel , we just loved staying here , old , little tired Victorian building that wraps it's arms around you like a favourite grandma, you walk in and immediately feel relaxed and at home , the staff are absolutely amazing bringing good old fashioned service with a broad smile and a way to make you feel really special, breakfast is wonderful, evening meal is a small set menu with 3 choices in each course, but don't be put off the food is lovely and so nice to have something different, We are definitely going back again, a quirky little gem nestled under the hill in Minehead. Mind if you like ultra modern and expected the world from your stay and the staff to run around you because you are ultra fussy, then don't go, you just won't fit. But if you want grandma to wrap you in comfort then you have a lovely relaxed stay ahead

Enjoyed my first takeaway last night and after eating curry for some 50 years I can honestly say that the tandoori chicken was the best I’ve ever eaten. Highly recommended.

We tried Golden House tonight and I'm so glad, it was delicious! We had sweet and sour chicken, special house chow mein, satay skewers, spare ribs, and Singapore fried rice. Everything was so fresh and tasty. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be returning!

We arrived for some breakfast and as we aren’t from the area we were not awake of the park run event! This made it a lot more busier!! We popped in and sat down at a table and went to order some scones. We do not drink tea or coffee and there was no just scone, jam and cream option, had to pay nearly the same price for no tea compared to if we did have tea! Scone was a little burnt underneath but was good! However the knife we was given had something that looked like crusty bean juice on it- ew! We then went to pay for golf and the payment was put thru as one even though we didn’t ask for it. The mini golf was okay! Staff are lovely though and quick service!

The food was great. Very well done. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was really good. Great change. Only up hill from here. Unfortunately no photos because as soon as the food hit the table it was gone 😂

Food was OK, partner had a breakfast which he said wasn't the best he'd eaten, bacon was very dry, I had jacket potato with cheese and side salad which was OK. The place itself just looked a bit tired and needed a bit of a spring clean.... the radiator we were sat by was dirty and looked like it hadn't been wiped down in ages and I noticed sauce stains on the wall... as a domestic cleaner I notice these things ! Sorry...

Booked for Saturday lunch - advised there would be a reduced menu but have some 'Chinese' style dishes on too. Place has a large carpark but slightly hard to find entrance as 'opposite' the pub. Pub was full and quite buzzing with many locals. Friendly service - table was reserved and you order at bar. Ordered two of the Chinese specials and one 'pie'. The specials were really tasty but portions not quite enough - my son ordered a portion of cheesy chips as extra - this was very generous with lots of cheese! The pie is served in a dish with a separate crust done - chips were ok but garnish was a bit poor. The beef and ale pie filling was really tasty and a good portion. Pudding choices are fairly standard pub type food - but all good!

Went here for just ice cream, got the salted caramel flavour and toffee and butterscotch which were both very nice. Staff were friendly although I was waiting a little longer than usual due to a trainee. Would recommend.

It's a fantastic Pub with superb food and an outstanding chef, well worth a visit!
