We tried Golden House tonight and I'm so glad, it was delicious! We had sweet and sour chicken, special house chow mein, satay skewers, spare ribs, and Singapore fried rice. Everything was so fresh and tasty. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be returning!

Definitely recommended.. The food taste so good. Service and atmosphere definitely point up too. Always my first choice when I’m back to Minehead.

Fantastic place, had called a few pubs in dunster for a meal for my 40th birthday and none served food on a Wednesday, so decided on a Chinese instead and these guys where very friendly and accommodating at short notice, food was served quickly and tasted delicious, thank you for your hospitality would very much reccomend this restaurant.

We come here every time we visit Minehead which is Al least twice a year....food it always delicious. A little more expensive than home but it's a tourist area so expected a little higher. We have had takeaway and sat in the restaurant and on every occasion it's been lovely.

Big shout out to Golden House for accommodating a table of 8 on Saturday night great food and service thank you!

Dropped in here for a sit-down meal whilst staying in Minehead overnight. Found the place on the off-chance whilst strolling through the High Street, just tucked away around the corner from the local 'Spoons. It's not a cheap place to eat-in, but it's been a couple of years since we have been to a Chinese restaurant so the prices may be on a par with others. The food, however, was well-flavoured and nicely portioned for the two of us. We had a combo starters, a rice and two dishes, a couple of beers and a wine which, with a tip came out at £80. I'm thinking the combo starters at £26 was over-priced for what was priced at only £16 for a takeaway. The other dishes are all around £10 each. Only three stars for the atmosphere as we were only two of four people in there - I'm guessing Minehead is quiet in January... The staff were very pleasant though, and the takeaway area was busy.

Come here for me daughters birthday. The service was great and food was amazing. Would recommend this place

Today we order Chinese takeaway, the food so so so delicious especially house special chow mein, my English mum said that is a super, mix veg in satay sauce, Singapore fried rice and my favourite salt and pepper chicken wings, yummy yummy, thanks 👍

Staying in Minehead for a weeks holiday and we came here in the mood for some chinese food. Everything we had was outstanding and full of flavour and served hot! Would 100% come back and would recommend it to anyone looking for some tasty chinese food! Would recommend trying the chicken satay it is full of flavour couldnt get enough of it!

Very poor food. All dishes the same shade of grey and tasted equally bland. Not cheap either. Won't be going back.

Dined in under new management for the first time for years...excellent service...excellent food..very happy with the price. My choice on the evening was chicken curry and boiled rice. Returned for a chicken curry and boiled rice takeaway about a month kater.... price excellent...service excellent.... but this ain't the same dish. No way. Spicy...tasty...a bit runny... definitely NOT what I was served in the restaurant. We WILL be returning to the the restaurant armed with a pre ordered takeaway to prove our point.

Nice little Chinese, very good value and good quality

Walked in sat down and was shocked and disgusted at the price difference to dine in compared to take away. It's fair to say we didn't stay walked out and went down road to taj Mahal which was lovely and reasonable priced. Golden house you absolute robbing b@#st@+ds.

Lovely people, excellent service and delicious food. I was told I had a bit of a wait for my dim sum but they arrived quickly and tasted wonderful. The ingredients used are so obviously fresh, cooked perfectly. Highly recommend. All served with a huge smile despite having been flooded earlier in the day.

Food was great would recommend it I used zipp scooters which are located just outside Butlins to collect it cheaper than using a taxi family enjoyed the food.

Although the food was nice, it was very overpriced for the portion size. Also was offered prawn crackers on arrival which was an extra £3 on the bill, not complimentary.

Popped in to get a mixed vegetable curry with fried rice takeaway. Quick service, reasonable price and tasted good. Cash payments only for below £10.

Visited on the 16th of July Only diners seated, so I should of been worried . Ordered Kung-po chicken vegetable chow mein crispy chilli beef and mushrooms in garlic. The chicken was like rubber and a total lack of flavour. The chow mein had obviously had an argument with the vegetables and they had left. The chilli beef and mushrooms were OK. This restaurant is also HIGHLY OVERPRICED!!! ITS AN AWFUL PLACE TO EAT DON'T BOTHER.

We came to stay in Butlins and was told about this beautiful Chinese Resturant. I have to say it’s the best Chinese we have ever had the food was hot so tasty my taste buds were given a treat that night june 6th 2023?

We had a lovely meal here. The Host even told me the history of one of the paintings on the wall, which I absolutely loved! All the members of staff were so welcoming, thank you for a lovely evening!

Not cheap but you get what you pay for, probably the best chinese restaurant that I have eaten in, very helpful staff. One small "gripe" on arrival we were asked if we wanted prawn crackers, we said yes please but were rather surprised to find that they were added to the bill £3.00, I think that's the first time that I have had to pay for them. But, as I say, fabulous food and great service, so much so, that we went back two days later and will be back next time we are in minehead

Visited here as really fancied a sit-in Chinese meal and there's not many local in the area. It wasn't terrible but then it wasn't great either, found the food to be tasty but lacking in portion size. Quite a bit more expensive than other Chinese restaurants I've visited so the smaller portion size compounded the negative experience. Rice and chow mein was lovely, lemon chicken was good... the tiny portion of crispy shredded beef was poor with little to no meat inside, was more like crispy shredded batter... certainly not worth £10.50 Staff were great, nice friendly welcome and attentive, restaurant and service was good also. I probably would eat here again, just expected a bit better value for money.

Very tasty the mould adds to the flavour

We had booked for a large party with a set menu. I had tofu with green peppers in a black bean sauce and it was really tasty. The tofu was great and had picked up the taste of the sauce. Really enjoyed the meal I had.

Good Chinese. First time I've tried it. Had a chicken satay, (good portion and flavour), special chowmein and chips. Nice crispy chips. Chose the wet chow mein, but would try dry next time. Only negative is the price. Most expensive Chinese I've come across I think.

First time visiting Minehead found this gem of a Chinese restaurant really nice food and the staff were so helpful and friendly

The food was tasty however I had a chicken chow mien which was far too salty. This is the second time I’ve ordered from here. The first time I was up all night drinking water due to the salt but felt a second chance was needed. Shame because if the salt could be reduced it would be 5 stars. I hope Golden House take this recommendation seriously as would love to use them again.

Wonderful food with chef hidden stash of shrimp chilli. Taste like any top Chinese restaurant in Singapore. Portions could be a bit more generous for the price but being able to satisfy our spicy craving there was a blessing.

Very nice, tasty, friendly restaurant, very affordable, not expensive at all, my prawns with ginger and spring onions was fab, 6 of us all very happy and content. Book your table because they are very busy!!!!

Recommended by staff at our hotel, and it didn't disappoint. Friendly and speedy service. Food was excellent. Would recommend booking ahead if in a group of more than 4, as only a small restaurant. But well worth it.

Whilst the food was somewhat different to most Chinese food we are generally used to, it was excellent. Staff were also most accommodating and cheerful - would totally recommend to anyone!

We were visiting Butlins Minehead, and was looking for Chinese food near by. Was doubtful after reading the reviews, but thought will try it. Unfortunately I will stand with previous poor reviews. Definitely don’t recommend this restaurant if you are looking for Chinese food in Minehead. The menu is exceptionally overpriced. And didn’t bill the order individually by item. I was charged £3 for prawn crackers (where other restaurants give as complementary). For sweet chilli sauce and chilli oil I was charged £2 each. And the food taste was average. Really disappointed.

Staff welcoming and friendly. Food was cooked fresh. Very enjoyable and would recommend. Only comment is it was a bit cold inside and decor is a little basic but worth going for the nice food.

Golden House changed hands towards the end of 2020, which has resulted in much improved food. I have had a variety of meals from here over the last year and all have been very tasty and generous portions.

Good service and food considering a local competitor is currently shut,so very busy with walk ins and phone orders.Well done,we will be back! Thanks.

Brilliant food definitely going back

If you're looking for a Chinese takeaway, this will do you okay. When I visited, there were some really good dishes, others not so much. The chow mein and tofu dishes were excellent, but most of the vegetarian spring rolls went in the bin as the filling was mushy and tasteless. The staff were friendly and professional and the order was cooked quickly.

Great experience, friendly staff, cheap price. Was staying at nearby butlins 3 mins drive away was this gem. Best Chinese I’ve had! Thanks

Excellent take away. A bit of a wait to collect as they were very busy but it was worth it as all the dishes were delicious. And they are the best prawn crackers I have ever had. Will definitely be going there again.

Awful service Ordered a collection for 8.30 got there on time and waited 25 minutes. Covid 19 protocols were non-existent 7 people waiting and I was the only one wearing mask inside the waiting area

The food was decent, not the best and not the worst, my wife and I were the only customers in, there's not alot to say about it.

First night went at 9:45pm they said we are too late despite it saying its open till 11pm, went the second night at 8pm they told us we have to eat up quick and when the food came it was cold and my friends meal had a bug in his noddles. Dreadful, avoid at all cost.
