Don’t bother asking for a wine list here - the landlord will just tell you “white or red.” Because of lack of a wine menu - I was embarrassingly trying to confer with my mum over which bottle she’d like to share while the landlord rudely said “hope you don’t take this long when ordering meals.” We should have walked out! Meal quality is the worst we’ve seen in a long time - I was allowed to swop my meal (an uncomfortable ask) and the pies out of the 4 meals ordered were the only thing edible. Not a nice atmosphere in there at all! We could not wait to leave!

Have eaten here many times while on holiday, alway been a favourite, But went down there last night, was shocked under different owners prices have shot up wear we would have paid no more the £10 to £15 for mix grill, now £25 yard pushed to find anything under £17 to £18, and after all it's just a village local, disappointed we walked with our legs

A group of eight of us met here for lunch ona Friday and ended our weekend away here with roast lunch on the Sunday. This is a lovely little country pub and the landlord made us very welcome. The food was delicious, especially the roasts and we were too full to try the desserts! This pub is well worth a visit and at a time when pubs are closing, we wish the management team every success for the future.

We called in here yesterday while on a weekend break with family all staying in the area. Nice atmosphere, quite busy, had a lovely carvery, hot, fresh good quality food. Very nice! Helpful staff, they even went out of the way to prepare some other meals for the kids who didn't want carvery, which we really appreciated.. We'd definitely return if in the area again..

I hope my visit was not typical! After waiting at the bar for 10 minutes, I was eventually noticed by the owner or manager. I wanted to eat outside (brilliant sunshine), but he didn't want that. Told me that if I waited for an hour or so, they MIGHT be able to get me some food! This pub will wait a long, long time before they get my patronage!

We went to this restaurant as we had been visiting it during the week of our holiday and they were very nice and friendly. So as a treat on our last night we went for a meal. I ordered the duck breast at £16.95 and my husband ordered the Sea bass, whilst my son just wanted a cheesy jacket potato. When our meal arrived my duck breast turned out to be 4 small slices of overcooked duck which when pushed together you could tell it was not a whole duck breast, it would of struggled to reach 2oz. This was served with wilted dry rocket and veg that smelt like it had been hanging around in the fridge for too long. I was appalled but as they were very busy I didn't want to make a scene. To be honest the people who ordered gammon or lamb shank looked like they received decent portions so suggest you stick to this. All I can say is this ruined our last nights holiday. My husband was going to have a quiet word when we paid but again the landlord was too busy and didn't even ask him about the meal. Such a shame.

We were very lucky to get a table here on a very busy Friday evening. Fortunately, we arrived early at 6pm, but by the time we'd been seated at a table that they needed back for 8pm the place was already fully booked out for the rest of the night. We shared a fish platter as a starter. A mix of squid, prawn and plaice with salad. For mains, I went for chicken fajitas and my wife chose duck breast. Both were very tasty and well presented. I went for a desert as well, deep filled apple pie. Service was great, and prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food.Make sure you book and enjoy this excellent restaurant soon!

If you are in the Williton area this pub/restaurant is definitely worth a visit. We stayed in Williton over the 2016 August Bank Holiday week and ate at the Mason's Arms four times. There was an extensive menu, and everything that we tried was very well cooked. We had our dog with us, so the staff laid a table for us in the bar rather than the restaurant, but it was comfortable and had a nice ambiance. The service was excellent and cheerful and the prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food and for the good portion sizes. It is in the region of £10-£13 for a main course. We sampled a variety of local ciders and they were also good.

A table was booked, which if you are bringing your dog with you really is necessary, and let them know about your dog and you will be accommodated in a nice bar area. The choice on the menu is extensive and is good pub-grub fayre. Staff are friendly if a little quirky, but this just adds to the atmosphere. We were recommended the pub by the person who let us into out rental cottage in the village. We booked in advance, even on a Monday evening they were busy. On arrival, we were met with a warm welcome and were shown to our table. After a short wait to have our order taken, the service was good and there wasn't too long a wait for both the starters and main. The food was well cooked and the accompanying veg was lovely. Only downside was an alarm which went off in a storage room and kept going for about 20 minutes. Meal and drinks worked out around £16 per head.

Booked ahead as there were 16 of us visiting and 14 were travelling some distance to attend a wedding anniversary celebration. We were asked for our orders 24 hours ahead and we supplied our choices but some meals weren't correct when they arrived and had to be sent back. Most of our party had chips with their meals but it was a nightmare trying to get vinegar (which we were told was on the table but wasnt), ketchup and mayonnaise. When they did arrive they were in tiny individual pots and so we had to ask for more. One of our party was very unhappy with her meal and tried to take it back. She went through a door behind her and tripped up a step. Apart from the sign saying "mind the step" being so high up it touched the ceiling there was nothing to indicate there was a step immediately behind the door. She landed very badly, breaking the dish her dinner was in but the landlady seemed more concerned with the mess on the floor than the fact this lady was injured. Her attitude was lousy and has made us think twice about going back again now. Saying there were 16 of us and so thats 16 meals and at least 4 drinks each - so quite a bit of money went in the till - I felt quite embarrassed, as a local, that I had recommended the place to everyone. The food, in the whole being excellent, was the saving grace.

Very handy for our stay at Arden Cottage and we took advice and booked before we travelled. Our ubiquitous dog felt right at home (he fell asleep within minutes of arriving - a good result) and everyone made a big fuss of him, probably since he was asleep right in the middle of the floor. The food was tasty, with a choice of 3 or 4 veggie dishes, and the local cider was very good indeed. The service was good, too. We must have enjoyed it since we booked to return the following evening as well.

The food was found to be good, plentiful and menu was innovative to the extent that we have subsequently been experimenting with some of their ideas at home. The place it'self was clean and in good decorative order, even down to the toilets and snug to be in.Whilst it may not be the cheapest fare in the area, it would be close and well worth any extra cost.
