All the staff were polite, respectful and attentive. Some humour thrown in too. The restaurant was very clean and well maintained. The food was tasty, piping hot, good sized portions and well presented. An extensive menu, good dessert choices too. Definitely worth a visit whether as a group, a single or a couple.

The onion bhaji was just flour - unpleasant texture and not crispy or fresh-tasting. The vegetable biryani was tasty. One of us got the cheese tikka with chicken expecting it to be saucy like chicken tikka masala with cheese on top. Instead it was dry, overcooked chicken, mildly spiced like tikka with a mountain of somewhat melted cheese over raw onions and peppers. Not appetising and actually made her nauseous the entire evening. The garlic naan was nice. Good attentive service but no soundproofing so we could barely talk to each other or hear anything.

Nice place, delicious food, great service, will definitely go again when I'm in Minehead, the staff were a wonderful bunch, helpful and friendly.

Food was nice, the place itself is pleasant, but the service was terrible. The waiter that took our order was sarcastic about our order, seemingly displeased we didn't order alcohol. We asked a different waiter for the bill and he ghosted us for several minutes, with no intention to bring it. Another waiter, the sarcastic one, brought the bill but not the card machine after. We kept asking for payment to be made, they just kept saying yes but ignored us. In the end we paid at the bar - no apology, only a smirk. Waiters seemed to enjoy winding us up. A weird start and a rubbish end to the meal, will definitely avoid coming again.

Mine head has very limited options for dinner on a Sunday evening. Taj Mahal was open, staffed, had everything on the menu, good wine and excellent service. This was a god send as there is absolutely nothing else in mine head on a Sunday evening even in August!!!

Both me and my son wanted to try something different and the service we got and the food that was recommended was absolutely amazing. I had the Chicken Goan Xacutti and my son had the Chicken Makhon which was perfect for him as he only likes mild and creamy curries as for me I like it very hot but fancied something a bit tamer and this hit the spot perfectly. Travelled to minehead today and fancied an Indian. Quick Google search found here and only a 7 minute walk. We went for the set meal for 2, allowed us to change a curry and a rice which was nice. Food was lovely, the vegetable curry which I wouldn’t ever pick as I don’t do ‘veggie’ was fantastic. The garlic & cheese naan was up there with the best I’ve had Very reasonable priced Highly recommend to anyone

Ordered to collect as we was staying local. We have had before in previous years, what a curry 5* could not fault 1 thing was perfect all round

Great evening out in Minehead. Nice welcome from the staff, and seating arrangements were fine. Ordered starters of meat samosa and sheep kebab, both well presented and tasted great. Followed by lamb dhansak, chicken jalfrezi, vegetable rice, pilau rice, and fresh plain naan. Great tasting food at a reasonable price 👌

Disappointing Experience at Taj Mahal Minehead My family and I visited Taj Mahal Minehead on February 23rd, 2024, eager to indulge in some delicious Indian cuisine. Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of our expectations. Upon arrival, we were seated promptly, but the troubles began when we received our food. We ordered a variety of dishes including mixed Tandoori grill, kheema nan, plain nan, paneer mattar, and mutton karahi. Sadly, the food was subpar in every aspect. The meats, particularly in the mixed Tandoori grill and mutton karahi, were undercooked and lacked flavor. Portion sizes were incredibly small considering the high prices we paid. Additionally, several dishes were notably bland, lacking salt and other essential seasoning.To add to the frustration, we were not provided with a proper receipt for our order. Overall, our dining experience at Taj Mahal Minehead was highly unsatisfactory. The lackluster food quality, inadequate portion sizes, high prices, and poor service left us feeling disappointed and unlikely to return. We hope that the restaurant takes our feedback constructively to improve the dining experience for future patrons.

Taj Mahal Minehead, is a very nice Indian restaurant, booking for a table is advised especially Friday, Saturday and Sunday and special occasions. Takeaway is usually very good but do double check the order once placed as i have had a few missing items/wrong items. But overall I would recommend as I've never had a poor meal.

We have just had the most wonderful evening at Taj Mahal, we came on holiday to Minehead and just googled a family friendly restaurant and tried this one. The service was perfect - friendly, they knew when to hang back and they were perfect with our (boisterous) kids. The food was delicious and they were fine with us ordering a mixture of starters and mains to all come at the same time. Great value and would definitely come again. They deserve a good review solely for managing to please our very fussy four year old! Thank you x

Wow what a wonderful place. We were down for my sons birthday at Butlins and we popped to Taj Mahal for dinner. Meal was beautiful great flavours. They went above and beyond for us, especially my son... they made his dinner then he was eating my partner salad so they went and got him a plate of salad too. So he was very happy. They also sang happy birthday and brought our son out a ice cream, which was just lovely. Really delightful evening. We will be back x

Food was tasty with a good vegetarian choice. Good service.

I was pleasantly surprised as have indian roots so can cook this food so normally fussy when I go put for an Indian. My work colleagues and I all enjoyed what we ordered chicken balti, lamb curry and tarka daal. The naans were really nice too.

The food had no heat and I had the Matar Paneer which was tasteless. I think it's a place that is catering for the taste buds of the West and has completely lost its way for a more authentic Indian food experience.

Lovely decoration, food was quick and really hot which is decent. Loads of food to choose from, including English meals! 5☆ for me!

The food was amazing, fantastic portions and well cooked to no fault. The menu was clear and heat indicators accurate, all of it was fresh and freshly prepared. Will visit again when next in the area.

We've visited before so we were very excited to visit here again. The fabulous taj mahal didn't dissapoint. Great staff,atmosphere, good quality food. We were not rushed, overall one to bottle..thanks Taj Mahalx

Disappointed been here number of times over the years with our holidays to minehead And slowly gone down hill Went tonight and was rushed Food was out within ten minutes chips were sent back For been enimic and well undercooked Won't be going back sadly

Good food with fast and friendly service & a great atmosphere.

We always visit this restaurant when we come on holiday, and the food is normally adequate. We are currently on holiday now so we rang to book a table. We stated that we had two babies in prams and were told that they were able to accommodate us. Originally, we said we would like to book for 6:30, then quickly retracted that, and said we would be there later. The restaurant confirmed this was all okay. We walked there, which took us about 50 minutes. When we got there, they said they were unable to accommodate us with the prams, despite saying previously that it was fine, and that we were late, even after saying we would be there later than 6:30. They were very unsympathetic towards us having walked all that way, especially since I am physically disabled. They made no further attempt to accommodate us, so we left. This is very disappointing and we will not be returning on our next holiday.

Been to this restaurants every time we visit Minehead, (10+ times), it is very busy as they are the only Curry house in the vicinity. Front of house staff to the owner really need to serve paying customers with smile on their face, not a lot to ask. The food is good and not outstanding. Impressed at how quick the food was served at a very busy time. The atmosphere is ok, and new seating arrangements are way better than before. The lamb served on very dish we tried is not Lamb but Mutton. So please tell us that info on the menu. Otherwise a quick curry fix. This restaurant has the potential to be 5 star restaurant. As they serving a lot of holiday makers I believe they are happy as things are.

Nice place had a good basic madras ,starters good need a bit more punch

Visited on Monday night, was worried we would be the only ones there however please to see 6 other tables being used. The food was great. I really enjoyed all that we had. The lamb garlic chilli curry was amazing, plus the wine was good. Very good prices. Small inside but well laid out. Friendly staff who were great and very helpful. If visiting, then it is definitely worth a visit.

Takeaway order which the telephonist repeated to me , left a meal out and when I called back told me I didn't order it.... that was after waiting for naans they forgot

Really bad food. Tasteless curry. Terrible tasing naan. Slippery meat. Bad service. Small. Some of the guests have had S&D. Stay away.

Avoid, we visited on a Sunday evening...keen to get something different from Minehead. I asked for a mixed grill starter, the chicken was half cooked....I sent it back and received no apology. The onion bhaji was really oily, portions small and all the rest of the food lacked taste and quality. Real disappointment, the staff don't want to be there or care about your feedback. They make money from people that come once.....look at the small number of Google reviews they have. This is a very poor excuse for a restaurant.
