Very disappointed as been many times over the years. Fork, cup and menu dirty.table had coffee circles on. Bacon been left on warmer and heated up not nice. Says two rashers but looked like half a one. Baked beans lukewarm. Toast half cooked needs larger toaster or turn it around. Sausages were the only pleasant thing but still needs further cooking. Won’t be going again.

During our stay in Minehead we went to the Jubliee Cafe on more than one occasion because we found the staff so welcoming and the food and drinks oh so good. There's a good choice on the menu and my wife's Gluten Free diet did not cause any problem whatsoever. Ample portions and reasonably priced. The toilet facilities were also very clean. Can certainly recommend.

Such a lovely place to have a cafe, but we were so disappointed to experience such miserable staff. The girl at the till was too busy chewing gum to take orders. The scones were barely defrosted in the middle. The kids breakfast was a good portion size. Prices very steep for what you get. Extra star given for mini golf or it would have been one. If you are going for the golf and views then ok but if for service don’t bother.

We visited for lunch and a bit of crazy Golf. The Golf is alright at £3.50 each. The food is poor. I had the Tuna Mayo Sandwich and while presented nicely with a side salad and coleslaw there was more butter in my sandwich than Tuna. My Wife has the goats cheese toastie to find it had hardly any goats cheese and no onion marmalade. While the food is not dreadful it does not represent good value for money at all.Would visit again for Golf my maybe avoid eating.

We visited Minehead and decided to try the jubilee cafe as they allow dogs and had jacket potatoes on the menu. We decided to try it for lunch. Our son has multiple severe allergies and potato is one of only a few things he can have. The staff were brilliant, so good we came back a day later for an all day breakfast. Our son had the same, plain jacket potato with cucumber and our dog had another ‘doggy cake’ and a fresh bowl of water.Thank you!!!

Well situated on the sea front and with both indoor and outdoor seating. The food was prepared to order by friendly staff. It was relatively quiet when we visited and I suspect it may get very crowded in high season. I thoroughly in enjoyed my very tasty sausage bap and my wife had an excellent sandwich. The cafe is under new management so ignore some of the older reviews which are no longer relevant. The one thing which still needs modernisation is the toilet facilities.

We visited to play crazy golf. The sign on the unmanned hut said to pay in the cafe. We picked up three clubs and I went to pay in the cafe assuming we would be given golf balls and score card in there. I was given a post it note and returned to the hut to find that the clubs had been abruptly taken off my husband and son. They were returned to us with balls after handing the post it note over. This kind of set the scene. Maybe the hut should be permanently manned in the summer holidays to avoid such misunderstandings or maybe the signage should be clearer. Despite this after finishing our game we stayed for a drink. Two diet cokes and a bottle of water came to £3.80 and we weren’t even offered glasses. We won’t be returning.

3 grumpy, unfriendly women serving: I asked one unsmiling for an extra cup because my dad has end stage mouth cancer found the coffee he had been served was too hot. The po-faced obstinate woman said "no, we don't give out empty mugs". I explained my dad found the coffee too hot and this resulted in a major conflab between her and another snippy, discurteous woman about whether they should or shouldn't give us another mug for my dad to pour some out. Eventually they did and I asked for some more milk for him, the first irascible, churlish woman snatched the jug from my hand, half-filled it and jabbed it back at me. I offered to pay for the milk if she was unhappy to give it to me, to which she grumpily replied "No!". We finished our drinks, which had been soured by the morose faces of the women serving us and stood up to leave. As we did this the 3rd dour woman pushed infront of us to start clearing our table before we'd even managed to move away from the chairs.

Granted the food is tasty but it does work out expensive, got a coffee to take away but when I took the lid off there was only half a cup. Unless you want a sandwich or a toastie then go across the road to the Seaview takeaway, same food, fraction of the price and a full cup of coffee plus happy, friendly staff. Toilets are now 50p a go (up from 20p last year) and the "keeper of the keys" keeps a beedy eye to make sure no one sneeks in telling a family of 5 they each had to pay. Bit tight fisted when youve spent a fortune on food/drinks for the beach. Walk 5 mins across road to public toilets in the park which were spotless and free. Staff really are rude to Customers as though every Customer is wrong and an inconvenience, witnessed people cancelling their order and walking out. Raking it in from the tired looking crazy golf you would think it would put a smile on the owners face but no. With so many other places to choose from its a wonder this place is still open.

We stopped off at this cafe on our way home from a lovely week in Woolacombe. After finding a table for the 5 of us (4 adults and 1 child) we perused the menu deciding what to have for lunch. A lovely couple came in whilst we were sat there with their very well behaved and friendly terrier. My Daughter loves dogs do asked if she could say hello, they were perfectly happy for her to do so and their lovely dog enjoyed the fuss. They then sat at a table very close to the door and started to look at the menu. After a few minutes the lady behind the counter pipes up that dogs were not allowed. Now, of course it is entirely your choice whether you allow animals into your establishment, however it was the rude and dismissive manner of the woman behind the counter. Quite rightly the couple pointed out that there were lots of places that are happy too allow animals so off they went. The lady behind the counter continued to mutter about them after they had left. I noticed on walking up to the door that there was a bowl of water outside for dogs so it is not obvious that they are not allowed inside, also surely they could have sat outside? But, this was never suggested. I needed to use the toilet so left the rest of my group deciding on food and waited patiently at the counter for the woman to come back. Eventually she reappeared and I politely asked her if there was a toilet, to which she growled was I drinking anything or eating anything there? Now, considering that the only other customers in the place was a couple just across from us that had already been served you would think she would have noticed us taking up 3 two seater tables. I replied that yes, we were sat on the the tables and about to order. She very defensively stated that the owner says she has to ask, to which I pointed out that there is a way of asking without being rude. She then accused me of being rude so I promptly told my party that we were not eating there and that we would find another cafe. So in the short period that we were in the basically empty cafe, the dragon behind the counter had managed to scare off 6 adults and a child, all there to eat and drink. I will never step foot in that place again and certainly would not recommend the experience to anyone!

Went here with very clean boots as part of a party of 5. Café was only half full. We were about to go walking, but all our kit was clean, straight out the car. Our intention was to order a light lunch. Our friends had a small dog; out of courtesy they asked if dogs were allowed, the answer was quite terse "Oh! No, you will have to sit outside, and then, and certainly not with that kind of dog, a spaniel, Oh and you all have dirty boots no! no! We did not have dirty boots. We left. We walked along the sea front and to our luck found another much more hospitable establishment. Never ever had such treatment from someone managing a café, we are polite respecting people. It was the body language and tone of voice, there are many polite ways of saying sorry we can't accommodate you because ....and maybe even recommending an alternative nearby.. I respect places that have a no dog policy that's fine, but no need to be rude. This is the most critical review I have ever needed to write.

We have been using the cafe for more than 2 years years now at least once a month & whatever was was chosen from the menu has been well cooked, excellently presented & a first class friendly service. We had used many other establishments prior to this one & none compare for price & quality of food & service, admittedly it can get a bit busy summer/holiday times but that just proves quality. (no one eats in pub with an empty car park). You will most probably find that the ones who complain are not wanted by an establishment in the first place. 5 star all round.

I went up to the counter and put my bag down to find my purse. I was then told my the same lady to wait over there by the sign. It said, please queue here. I had not seen the sign. I said, "I am just going to be a minute." only to be told, "You are in the way. This lady cannot reach the sugar etc. Clearly the woman did not want our custom, so we walked out and did not play golf that day!

We had been coming here on our twice yearly holiday for years and previously had good service. We have always had the owner say bring in your two small dogs. As we entered there were no signs saying no dogs. I was shouted at as I entered no dog's. No reason why policy had changed on way out another couple said they had same happen would never go back

We visited the gardens after a trip on the West Somerset Raikway, which is a must if you are in the area. The gardens were clean and tidy and provided an view of the sea and beach. There are plenty of seats around the gardens, which is also served by a cafe and crazy golf course. It was the end of the season for the flower beds but I can imagine they looked good in season. Worth a visit.

My wife and I have visited this cafe on several occasions and have always found it satisfactory if not outstanding. However on this occasion we were disappointed. The woman who was taking orders was very off hand and abrupt with no empathy with her customers who are literally her bread and butter! Never a smile. This filtered down to the rest of the staff seemed cowed by her manner. We ordered fish and chips, a cottage pie and a pot of tea. My wife did not finish her cottage pie which she described as "tasting synthetic." My fish was ok but our chips were obviously oven chips and were dry and cardboard. Our tea did not arrive with our meals as requested but eventually had to be fetched when our meals were almost finished. The next time we visit Minehead we shall probably "test the waters" before we order!

First time we visited it was very good, the staff were very helpful .found some fresh water for our dog. The food was very good they took cards. The second time it was busy the dog was looking for a drink the water bowl was empty I approached a staff member who was collecting Items from the table, I asked very politely when she has a minute could we have some water for the dog as the water bowl was empty. She arrived with two jugs of water looked at the water bowl and stated there was water in the bowl, It was filthy .It was said in a loud voice. My wife arrived and stated they did not take cards. With that and the dogs water we left other people commented on the bad service.

A BIT OF BALANCE REQUIREDI rarely comment on TripAdvisor, but I feel obliged to do so given the extremely inaccurate comments made under the heading “Told to call police for a refund! AVOID!” , not least because my wife and I have eaten at the Jubilee Café on numerous occasions and have always found the food to represent very good value; a basic menu but with good quality food, and the service has always been friendly.I was actually in the café when the above incident took place and although I didn’t see the food about which the original comment was made, the fact that the composition of the meal was not as expected did not give grounds for it to be described as “slop”.And I’m afraid that I didn’t hear any shouting, at least, not by the staff! What I DID witness however, as I was placing my own order was the unpleasantness, arrogance and sheer offensiveness of the “65 year old Dad” who marched up to the counter and demanded his money back because his daughter simply didn’t like her meal.Under the circumstances, the owner perfectly reasonably offered to give him his money back for the food that his daughter had decided that she didn’t like, even though there was basically nothing wrong with it, but that wasn’t enough for him, he wanted a refund for the other meals which whilst not actually served, had been cooked and were about to be served. The only shouting that I witnessed was by the gentleman(?) himself who aggressively demanded his money back. As for the comment regarding the police, the owner definitely didn’t say that if he wanted a refund in full that he would have to call the police, but rather that if he didn’t calm down and moderate his tone, she would have to call the police to get him removed because he was upsetting other customers. And I’m afraid that I didn’t witness a child “practically in tears” either. There is absolutely no excuse for being rude and offensiveness to anyone and treating well-intentioned staff in such a way was unforgivable and can only be explained, but certainly not justified, because the customers’ changed their minds and couldn’t get their own way…In my experience the Jubilee Gardens Café delivers exactly what we can reasonably expect from a ‘seafront café; a basic menu with good quality food, generous portions and at a realistic price… and you can play some Crazy Golf too

Popped in for a cup of tea, dog friendly so we were able to sit in the sun rather than take away. Good, hot tea, service was a little lax though. One staff member messing with her phone, which isn't the best customer service...Would still pop in if passing, but wouldn't go out of my way to visit.

This is without a doubt the best full English breakfast to be had in Minehead. I should know I have tried all of them.

Having just arrived in Minehead on holiday with my dad and son we were all hungry and parked up to find this place by the beach. Seemed quaint enough, very dated but almost so dated I found it nostalgic. From the off set service was rude and atmosphere bad. I ordered a cheese leek and potato pie, I had imagined some form of homity pie, or a pastry crust on top of chunks of potato with a cheese and leek sauce, I wasn't expecting a fine dining experience, but what I received was terrible food. Simply two inches of melted cheddar in a pie dish sitting on a bed of curdled creamy sauce. In ediable. My dad took it to the counter. A few minutes later a lady (the owner/manager) came to our table with a distinct aggressive approach as I had complained, clearly taking it personally. Was most unprofessional how she dealt with my complaint, I simply would of liked to change my order, however the lady was incredibly rude to me, basically stating I was wrong to complain and made me feel threatened, so I bit back, I told her the food was not a pie, but slop. The lady clearly wasn't going to react well to this, would you if your "homemade food" was being called slop, but I had been made to feel so uneasy, that was my reaction. At this point the lady started shouting at me Infront of my six year old child, and all other customers. I tried to remind her I was the customer. And what a poor service this was. Who expects to go for lunch on their first day of a holiday with a their six year old son and 65 year old dad and feel threatened and get aggressively shouted at by the staff?!?! She offered a refund for mine, I requested a refund for all three meals after how she had spoke to me as none of us wished to stay after what had happened (by which point my son was practically in tears with the whole commotion) she refused a full refund, despite no food having been eaten. And told my dad If we wanted a full refund to call the police. At this point my son was scared and in tears as we left. Great start to our holiday! Despicable! Disgusting! Can't believe this place is surviving!

Ideal if you are down that end of beach, do take away foods (toasties, drinks etc) or can sit in. Decent choice on menu at reasonable prices. The gent that served us food/drinks for the beach was really friendly and helpful. Unfortunately soured by witnessing older female member of staff having a go at a lady with a disabled daughter who queried having to pay to use the toilet. "We all have to pay so why shouldn't you" said she as she polished the 20p sign and then proceeded to stand just inside cafe and watch to make sure no one snook in without paying. Really, there are ways to speak to people and no need to embarrass them in front of others.

The cafe is perfectly situated next to the beach and offers a nice range of lunch type foods and snacks. It's slightly soured however by the distinct impression that the staff really don't want to be there. It's difficult to raise a smile and you almost feel like an inconvenience. A shame.

Is it really necessary to embarrass a customer who simply asked for different milk when the customer felt the milk had curdled in her coffee?Surely the question of whether the milk had curdled or not is moot. Service a la Basil Fawlty is funny in retrospect but really uncomfortable) at the time; particularly special was the question to everyone else in there 'anyone also got a problem with their milk? No didn't think so' Highly recommended for comedy value for a pleasant tea experience, to be avoided at all costs.

Only stopped for a coffee and scones, but the scones were warm and first class, coffe was tasty and a good temperature. Seating was comfortable, and the breakfasts served to others looked appetising. Very impressed with the service, one of our party is in a wheelchair and the owners helped with door, and made sure we had a good path to a table that was most suitable. I noticed a large party come in a bit later, and straight away they were moving tables and chairs to accommodate them. Menu looked attractive for a wholesome lunch.

We visited with our small children for lunch. Our boy had allergies they checked the food and he ended up having just a portion of chips. The portions were good the price was reasonable. The food was OK a nice selection a reasonable price served in good time. It was nothing special but nothing to complain about. You get what you pay for. I had a prawn jacket potato and my husband a fry up. It was a bit cramped and not very pushchair or wheelchair friendly. The woman behind the counter was not unwelcoming but wasn't overly friendly. Toilets are 20p make sure you have change particularly if you have a toddler who struggles to hold it while you fumble for change.

Visit this cafe when in Minehead, the breakfast is the best value in town and always up to the same standard. Coffee and hot chocolate are lovely. Friendly staff, always helpful.

We have visited Minehead for many years, however for other than the odd ice cream or coffee, we have never actually eaten at this establishment. On our recent weekend at Butlins, our daughters suggested we should as they had frequented the café the day before and most enjoyed their main meals and 'cream teas'.So the following day we did with two of us having full English breakfasts (one being a vegetarian option) and I went for an egg bap.The meals were fresh very tasteful and we received polite yet somewhat 'quiet' service.Overall, I was somewhat impressed with this café and will certainly consider this place for a return visit next time we are in Minehead.

Called in for a light lunch which was very good value for money. There is a good range of reasonably priced snacks and full lunches and the cafe is obviously popular and very well situated close to the sea front in Minehead.

A very good dog friendly pub with rooms. Rooms clean, food brilliant, friendly staff and dogs allowed everywhere. Only thing that could be improved is the guest entrance to the hotel, very tired and need of updating. Otherwise a brilliant stay!

Great welcome from the hosts, who gave great advice on things to do and see in the area. We had a lovely 1 night stay at the Notley Arms. Lovely clean and comfy room. Great evening meal and breakfast in the pub which had a great atmosphere. We would stay here again.
