We went there with friends and our well behaved dog that was always on his lead as we were lead to believe it was a dog friendly pub. We sat in the corner and let our dog have his toy to keep him entertained and although it was a squeaky toy it wasn't overly loud in a busy pub. A local complained as it was upsetting their dog even though they were the other side of the pub and it wasn't bothering anyone else in a fairly loud atmosphere. As he was obviously a regular the bar staff asked as to stop our dog playing with his toy saying its not a dogs play ground . I'm sure this conversation wouldn't of happened if it wasn't the batman's friend absolutely disgusting behaviour won't be going back any time soon
Very poor all round: no indoor seating (despite plenty of space for it), a tiny coffee, that was very expensive (£3.40), and very mediocre in terms of its quality.
Can honestly say that we were well fed and not badly priced too , proper chips unlike many others .
Fish was lovely & im not usually a fish person but being by sea is a must to have it ..
Had a nice chat too and it’s under new management so not bad for not much experience running a chippy , would definitely recommend
Visit here fortnightly on average with my children. Food is as expected for a spoons, you get what you pay for. However the kitchen staff show no knowledge of basic hygiene. In and out of kitchen to see friends.. coughing into hands.. picking nose! One young guy sat on a table to have his brunch break, kept in kitchen clothes. Ate with hands.. licking fingers and wiping down his kitchen clothes. Vile!
Popped in here for a bottle of water on a hot afternoon. Thought I had misheard when told it was 1 pound, that's a great price. The ladies were very chatty and explained they tried hard to keep their prices down. Although there were plenty of patrons sat outside it was quiet inside and I had a good chat/laugh with the two ladies. It seems a popular place.
Greeted at the entrance by a young man called George. George literally didn’t stop cleaning the entire time we were in the restaurant. This was undoubtedly the cleanest McDonalds I’ve ever been in!
Service and food standard McDonalds, staff friendly, George exceptional! The management of the branch should be proud of him
I’m not a massive coffee connoisseur, but that coffee it was disgusting, rank, horrible, undrinkable . We had a couple of sips and had to leave it , yuk 😱😱
We ate here as we were staying in the hotel (Royal lion) for a couple of nights and had a nice meal. We both opted for fish dishes and whilst the menu is not extensive we were both happy with our food and accompanying wine. The menu is reasonably priced compared to some in Lyme Regis and the service was good. The price of restaurants in Lyme seems to have increased significantly since Covid and availability is sometimes limited (staffing seems to be an issue here as with many places). The hotel restaurant used to be located in a large room on the first floor and had a more inventive menu although the room itself was a bit too formal for my taste
Just awful. We picked up a take away at 7pm on our way home, drove 5 minutes and started to dish up. It was cold. We ordered kung Po king prawn, the batter was old and wet. The chilly deep fried beef was literally like card board, no flavor at all. The special fried rice had two prawns and a few peas and no flavor. The beef chow mein had five tiny slices of beef and no flavor. Every dish tasted the same, no differentiation between them, total waste of £42 as we had to chuck it into our food waste bin.
Went there with my family for a drink and ordered fish and chips to be shared as we already had our lunch but still spent around 50 pound .we ask a rude lady for extra cutlery she very aggressive said that you are paying for 2 but feeding 4 mouth and I will have extra washing to do ...never heard anything like that. She even took our plates away while we were still eating avoid avoid avoid.
Fish cooked perfectly even though really busy on Friday night. Fryer was rushed off his feet but still smiling and helpful. (Friday 4th April 25) Definitely will be back before our holiday end.
Terrible chicken full of fatty oil chips were dry no serivets give no salt nor vinegar on chips never even asked chicken burger was so bad not eaten in all meals were bad wouldn't give to my badgers
Ordered two regular breakfasts and two coffees. Allergens were asked about and dealt with efficiently. Coffee was good. We found the breakfast to be greasy and not particularly hot. The bacon was very hard (not a new complaint, but very hard to eat nonetheless), but obviously at this price and with two kitchen staff, bacon cooked to order isn’t difficult. The FOH staff obviously had their favourite customers and tgey were the ones who received good service.
On reflection, would not eat here again
Disgusting service from an elderly lady in here. My daughter was rudely approached by the old hag, and told not to eat her sausage roll in the restaurant as she isn’t a customer. I explained that I was going to be eating and buying drinks. We didn’t even have the time to find a seat, as my daughter was collared by her half way in.
Now I totally respect that places don’t want you eating food from other eateries. But her manner and approach was completely aggressive, and to approach an 11 year child. I explained that if there is an issue to then speak with me, the parent.
Totally rude and ill mannered, and the rest of the staff had an awful attitude.
I’ve eaten here before and food has always been mediocre. Just cheap and cheerful. The service is just appalling.
