Overpriced food. Ordered the half sandwich option as thought this was possibly due to the sandwiches being large. What turned up was laughable. It was half a normal sized sandwich. £5.50 for half a sandwich!! Needless to say, will not hurry back…
Overpriced cafe offering bottles of coke/tango £2.75 and sandwiches £4.95. No presentation like you see in the photos. When asked if it was really £2.75 for a fizzy drink the responce was " I don't set the prices I just work here!" Would highly reccomend a picnic and eating in the many stannary picnic areas. Such a shame as we'd passed on another cafe locally at a precious stop off!
Always loved this place, and always went there when on holiday in the area. Was a little shocked and saddened to pop by there to find it has (seemingly) gone out of business.
While we couldn't eat there today, I'm still going to leave a 5/5 score for the many delicious meals we've had there in the past.
Wowser!!! Don’t give this extremely rude business your hard earned cash!!!! Outrageous unprovoked aggressive behaviour!!! They don’t deserve to survive in a competitive market. Went to Greggs and had a tasty cheap breakfast served by a lovely friendly young lady. Thank you Greggs! Let’s not bother supporting small business’s if this is their attitude!!!
My husband and I have been going to Sunday lunch for months you won't get a better Sunday lunch anywhere especially for the price. I just lost my husband but still continue to go there as I feel so welcome Bernie xx
Had the carvery the gammon was nice and juicy for the small 2 slices that I paid £15 for and very tiny selection of sides. The pudding I had chocolate cake as they ran out of brownies which was nice and if wasn’t so expensive I’d recommend. once I left I went back to room and had another dinner as I left feeling ripped off and hungry. In conclusion I’d never come back as I go to tobys for same price and feel full and get a unlimited drink as well.
Seeing the 'A' board outside I spotted duck eggs on toast with black pudding and a date and apricot sauce. Sounded wonderful. What I actually got one egg on toast, not eggs, with black pudding and a dollop of brown sauce. Now maybe brown sauce has date and apricot in it but that's not what most people would expect. Rather disappointing. Having said that the people are very pleasant, the place itself fine, although prices a bit high. This café good be a gem in the heart of town with better advertising, and the new chef that's apparently coming. So keep an eye on it.
Just wanted to say what a lovely Mother's Day luxury afternoon tea we had yesterday. Went with my mum and daughter - the food was amazing and the staff were really kind, friendly and attentive.
Really good choice of sandwiches and the macaroons, mini meringues and cheesecake were amazing. Beautifully served and my mum who doesn't drink tea had an amazing and very generous sized hot chocolate. It was easily accessible for my mum who needed to use a wheelchair after a fall previously. They were unfortunately running out of sweet scones as we came at the end of the afternoon and we had to share, but made up for it with an offer of extra cake and savoury scones with cream cheese. My daughter had a lovely glass of prosecco too! Would definitely come again!

I have to say, I had the worst pasty I have ever tasted from this place today. Very sad that this is in a prime location and it’s so uninviting. Very odd queuing system for those ordering hot food and we had to push our way through the queue just to get some napkins. We chose the pasty option to save the 15-20 minute wait for hot food.
My advice…if you are visiting Charmouth, take your own food to avoid disappointment…I wish I’d read these reviews before I went. Shame that whoever runs the Beach Cafe appears to have taken no action following all the disappointed customer reviews…same old issues coming up 4 years ago, and beyond. Terrible.
I would not recommend this place. Subway used to be my favorite fast food band, I had a worst customer experience in my life at bridport subway shop inside spar, I had a subway sandwich artist named - Morgan. On 25th Nov 2024 at 1:58 pm, I have ordered a Big Bombay sandwich in store. As I was ordering he already billed my takeaway sub, and then he started to put the salad of my choice but they were no onions, tomato, and cucumber. I just got lettuces and jalapeño. When I told him I could not find many choice to put on sandwich. He rudely said "this is what we have". Okay it did not stop there, I asked, "but I got red onions and cucumber on my Big Bombay which comes with the deal and that why I paid the full amount for". So I total him "it comes with the deal" are you going to restock it. He rudely said - " I can not restock any salad while I'm serving", but my point here is, I was the only one on that store ordering food. There was no person or anybody behind me. He did not apologize, or said sorry or told me to wait for a while I was preparing.... so disappointing. Never got the right product what I have paid for. Shame on subway, for keeping a worker like this and damaging the brand name.

If you like 2 lukewarm, weird tasting, chewy medium pizzas, some breaded chicken and bottle of Tango for £35 and not receiving the free Garlic Poppers for spending £20+. Then this is the Pizza place for you!
An on-site 'pub' at Haven Littlesea that we thought we'd give a try on our recent holiday in Weymouth
It's not bad. I certainly wouldn't use any ink writing home about it, but fundamentally, it was fine.
As with 90% of pubs these days, emphasis is definitely placed on food, and whilst there was absolutely nothing wrong with the food, it was unmemorable to the point that I can scarcely recall what I had. It was some sort of mixed seafood type thing. It was fine, if not slightly scrimpy in portion size
My wife had a burger which, to be fair, looked really good and she did enjoy. My little girl had a small pizza, and this seemed fine also.
Mash & Barrel seem to pride themselves on the fact many of their restaurants (their word, not mine) are now dog friendly, meaning that you can now bring your dog to dine with you. This pride is misplaced. It's a rancid idea and merely reduce their spaces to bark-parks, as was the case periodically during my visit.
