Popped in here for a bottle of water on a hot afternoon. Thought I had misheard when told it was 1 pound, that's a great price. The ladies were very chatty and explained they tried hard to keep their prices down. Although there were plenty of patrons sat outside it was quiet inside and I had a good chat/laugh with the two ladies. It seems a popular place.

Came here for an ice cream just before closing, they had to scrape out the bottom of the box which was mostly melted and not even to fill the cone, as soon as they handed it over it had to be licked as it was melting everywhere. They then told us after that it was only cash which we didn’t have and then took the ice cream back after it had been licked. The lady then said she was going to turn it upside down and put it back in the tub - they were very rude and terrible customer service - wouldn’t go back

Stopped here for lunch, had pasties and ice creams, sat out in the sun on chairs looking over the bay, lady who served us was very pleasant and efficient although did shortchange me, I think she was confused and distracted by my beauty , ha ha , however the ice cream was seriously beautiful , expensive but with covid, Brexit and cost of living , it was to be expected at that price in a popular sea side resort in the expensive South of England. Living just up the road , I am used to expensive prices

Today we visited this establishment and sat outside to eat in the sun. We ordered prawn and crab sandwiches. Firstly, if you are in the business of charging £8 for a crab sandwich, why would you choose Tesco value brown bread to put it on? Terrible, terrible. This place is a classic example of a shabby cafe existing solely on the passing trade of unsuspecting tourists. The poor couple on the next table to us had just sat down and were ambushed by a massive seagull who stole their horrible, expensive sandwich and knocked a steaming full cup of tea over the lady. The blousy managers response to this was to ask the husband to kindly put the empty cup in the bin and moved them on! ‘Didn’t even offer to replace the tea which would have been a nice gesture given the lady had been scalded. So, shan’t be giving them out business again and nor will our fellow diners. Avoid.

Visited the Old Boathouse to be greeted (or not) by the unhappiest employee I’ve ever witnessed, served the smallest scoop of ice cream ever and charged extortionate prices. Slow service, was not told the cost of my purchase but instead had my money taken out of my hand, and later discovered that I had been short changed. Absolutely no manners from the staff. Will not be returning!

Arrived in Lyme Regis searching for a fresh crab sandwich. Sign outside the Old Boathouse proclaimed that fresh crab sandwiches were available. Ordered two, only to be told that none were available as the Chinese had purchased all available crab and none was to be had in the whole of Lyme Regis. Went away disconsolate. Found another establishment (The Pilot House) who had fresh crab in abundance!. Obviously, The Boathouse was telling porkies.

Awful experience here this morning. Ordered crab sandwich and white tuna baguette to begin with, later ordered a can of drink and ice cream. Ice cream served, forgot about my drink, stood there and had to remind the lady about it. After 10 minutes waiting for the sandwich/baguette (how long does it take to make?!), the baguette came out as a sandwich. Took it back to advise we’d asked for a baguette, was greeted with a stern look and a “oh right”. Told to wait outside, I decided to stay in and wait and was told a 2nd time to wait outside. Eventually got the baguette, because of their mistake we’d actually underpaid and were asked for the correct amount, if it was me I’d have waived it because of the mistake, lesson in customer service required. Got home to eat the crab sandwich later on in the day and the bread is stale. Safe to say we won’t be returning here!

We only wanted coffees, and there were only two people in front of me, but it took ages to get served. We sat outside in the lovely sunshine to enjoy the coffee - it was so bad neither of us finished and threw them away. Not impressed at all.

Stopped for a coffee and got a table outside quick service great views the place only takes cash so as most people only use cards these days you could get caught out. Food looked really good as well but did not eat but would go back again

A lovely little place right at the corner of the seafront. We had two baguettes with different fillings and they were really fresh and tasty. The place is lovely and clean and the ladies are very friendly. Nice place to sit and look out at the sea.

Lovely fresh made sandwich, however, for the price I would have preferred fresh made bread from the bakery around the corner and not a brown slice from Tesco

We ate here for lunch and had the crab, it was lovely and very tasty, the staff were very friendly and we were not rushed to finish. We would certainly visit again when in the area, well worth a try.

We bought sandwiches and drinks. My mother wanted some tap water which due to the hot weather and suffering from a dry throat. They REFUSED to give my mum tap water and would only allow her to buy the £3.00 bottle of water. Bloody terrible attitude and seeing that we bought £22 worth of food and drink already. Everywhere we've been tap water has always been offered.

Lyme Regis is truly a magical destination, we stopped at the Boathouse for coffee and sandwich. The crab sandwich though expensive was the most wonderful I have ever tasted. Thoroughly recommended.

Stopping here on the way to the beach we picked up two fantastic baguettes. One a crab, the other a prawn. Both were very tasty and couldn't have been fuller. They were very fresh, nicely made although a little messy. The baguettes are a little on the pricey side but worth the money. Sitting outside we enjoyed the view but watch out for the seagulls.

We were very late arriving in Lyme and were quite hungry , a lot of places had stopped serving but they were open for snacks at 3.30.p.m. ( We could have had cream tea elsewhere but we wanted savoury.) We both chose the fresh crab on chiabatta bread ....it was absolutely delicious ....we sat in the outside courtyard to make the most of the sun and downed it with a pint of cider .......amazing !!

We stopped here for a coffee and soft drinks, which we drank sat at the tables overlooking the beach. The staff were friendly and pleasant and the drinks were fairly priced. It was a windy but warm and dry day and we enjoyed watching the people at the table next to us shield their food from the naughtly gulls!

I never considered I have arrived in Lyme until I have grabbed a crab sandwich, normally from here. Sadly this year they seem to have prepared their crab in a different way and there was chopped lettuce in it. Disappointing :(

Would have liked a coffee, but they are only served in cardboard cups, which I can't abide. I settled for a coffee ice cream which was delicious. Friendly staff.

Whenever in Lyme Regis I can't resist stopping at The Old Boathouse for a crab sandwich, it really is delicious, the bread is beautifully fresh and there is plenty of crab filling the sandwich, it's quite pricey but worth every penny. The staff are very friendly and obliging. Well worth a visit. There is seating available outside and you can enjoy a lovely view of the beach.

We went there with friends and our well behaved dog that was always on his lead as we were lead to believe it was a dog friendly pub. We sat in the corner and let our dog have his toy to keep him entertained and although it was a squeaky toy it wasn't overly loud in a busy pub. A local complained as it was upsetting their dog even though they were the other side of the pub and it wasn't bothering anyone else in a fairly loud atmosphere. As he was obviously a regular the bar staff asked as to stop our dog playing with his toy saying its not a dogs play ground . I'm sure this conversation wouldn't of happened if it wasn't the batman's friend absolutely disgusting behaviour won't be going back any time soon

I Had a family evening with cocktails to start, unfortunately they had not a clue how to serve or make these,by a friendly young girl, the food was the worst i have had for a long time, and although i told the elderly lady she seemed to listen but shrug it off with no effect, totally overpriced for what we had ,very small meals, missing the main ingredient FOOD.I hope they can improve and get a barman in to make the cocktails, they need to be shaken, not just pored!!
