Family of 5 out for a meal. Food was swift but on arrival our daughter’s vegetarian wrap contained meat - thank goodness she released before eating. My pizza was vegan with no cheese rather than vegetarian. Two meals were taken away leaving half the family eating and half sat with no meals- we had completed the meal before the vegetarian wrap was brought out. This was disappointing as we came out to eat a family meal together and spent a lot of money on drinks and food. We asked them to refund our daughter’s meal, to which we were rudely told ‘no ‘it wasn’t ordered as vegetarian. The order was checked back at time or ordering and we did not appreciate being blamed for poor service and food. Eventually, she agreed to refund the meal and we were refunded £2:54 for the meal which was insulting. Have no idea where this figure came from except being told it was minis the drink. What a different experience and service to our local Wetherspoon - this young lady definitely got her customer service wrong and we won’t be returning !

Been here a good few times. A it hit and miss as often very busy. I was a bit miffed after waiting 10 minutes to get served at the bar, returned to table and ordered via app which was prompt. A guy at the table next to us obviously had special needs, sorry if that's not a suitable term, he was a little distressed when hifood was delivered a few minutes late as he said he had somewhere to be and his phone had no charge left. The waitress calmed him ,went and got her own phone and left it with him to make a call which gave him obvious relief. Now I felt like a tw@ for griping about my 10 minutes wait. That waitress could have spat in my pint and I'd still leave a 5.

I'm a JDW fan and have dined and drank in many. I moved to Bridport in Aug 2022 and have been to The Greyhound many times. There is almost always an issue. Here are some things I've encountered in that time - many menu items missing due to no deliveries, no food at all due to issue in kitchen, a few times long wait due to no staff, overcharging - this was the most recent due to untrained new member of staff. Their Burns night food is served this week, the person taking the order was surprised haggis was on the menu. I like the beer at Wetherspoon normally, however at The Greyhound there is a poorer choice with a slow turnover so the same beers are there for days, sometimes not good. This was very noticeable at Christmas. Place is often quite messy. Not the best Wetherspoon around, occasional visits are OK. I wish they could relocate to a larger building, but if not I would not mind if it was closed permanently.

We visited the Greyhound in Bridport for breakfast. The last trip here two years ago the breakfast was greasy and horrible. This time the coffee was nice, but the breakfast had no taste. It was plain until got to the sausage and the bacon which tasted of whatever had been grilled the night before. There was a strong amount of gammon. We were not impressed, although breakfasts are usually good value for money we chose not to go back on our week stay

Spicy meat feast arrived and no spice and no rocket as advertised. Informed the waitress who said oh my so sorry taking my plate to return saying “ we have run out of chillies”. I was a bit shocked , I asked for dried chilli flakes and was told they don’t have any. So my pizza was a bland meat one and I would never of ordered if I knew it was missing the Crutial ingredients that make it what it’s called , the waitress said I will go speak to the manager. To my disbelief she came back to bring ketchup and said nothing else on it. It was my daughters birthday so I had to pretend it was fine. Ordered our food on app and drinks appeared quickly but they were plonked down in middle of table with not even an acknowledgement of us or asking if they were our drinks. Next came the food, which was exactly what the menu said.. Not Al a cart but that is not expected in a Wetherspoons. The meals again, were plonke din middle of us and left, not one word (and a different waitress this time). I politely asked a waitress for another, full, bottle of ketchup and again there was no reply or eye contact. A few minutes later a new bottle was put on the table. My friend finished her meal but I was still 'picking' at the last few chips with my fingers, a waitress appeared and collected our plate. I said I'm not finished fairly loudly and she shrugged a shoulder and walked off. Train your staff an dthe review would have been 5 star.

Any individual Wetherspoons pub rarely emerges as particularly good as there is a standard formula which we all get used to - and this was no exception. I went in because I was utterly frustrated at standing for ages on a bus stop for a bus that was never going to arrive, so I wanted to murder a pint - and Spoons was across the road and open, simple. Beer selection mediocre as usual. Plus point - inevitably, the price, by far the cheapest pint in this town. Another plus point was cheerful and helpful staff, not usually an award winner in a Spoons, hence 3 star rating to pull it through.

The Greyhound provides the usual Wetherspoon's fare which was, as ever, extremely economically priced. Our meals were what we expected, but the state of the pub itself was not. Many tables were covered with dirty dishes and both times we visited we had to clear the empties and dirty plates on to another table before we could sit down. The staff were efficient and obliging, but the place really, really needs a clean up and they perhaps need more staff to ensure that the tables are cleared.

Worth the money with complimentary top up coffee from the machine. 10-15 minute wait for food but virtually every table was taken at 08.30 so not surprised by this. Seems very popular indeed. Took my sister and father here for a coffee at the weekend. What a big mistake short staff dirty tables no glasses terrible cappuccino. It was probably the busiest weekend of the year being carnival and our wetherspoons could not cope first issue was no whisky glasses. My father was served a whisky in a large tumbler apparently all short glasses had been smashed the week end before. Then there were no spoons. The staff said they were understaffed but sorry this was ten o'clock in the morning it was obvious they were out of there depth and hadn't washed up from the evening before. Then to cap it all there was a fly in the whisky and the cappuccino was like a normal coffee no head on it. Cappuccino in wetherspoons is a bit hit and miss it seems that some of the staff need training how to make one.its all very well wetherspoons making a large profit but let's get the basics right first.

We went here recently as Wetherspoons is usually a reliable place to eat cheaply. Fortunately I went to the toilet before ordering because having seen the state of the toilets I wouldn't trust the hygiene of anywhere in this place. The whole toilet stank of stale urine, only one hand drier worked and the inspection sheet clearly showed it hadn't been cleaned or checked for most of the day. At that point we decided to eat elsewhere and my wife left to find somewhere better. I stayed just long enough to talk to the bar staff in the hope that it was just an anomaly but given the disinterest I suspect they just continued to ignore it.I hope this was a one off because wetherspoons is usually reliable, quick and clean if dull but if this is the normal state of affairs at this outlet then it seriously needs a complete replacement of the management staff.

We were never dared asked" how was your food" and like the staff, couldn't be bothered to pursue anyone so just ate the edible bits and left. This place needs a real shake up from the management down and some staff may need to be replaced!

I come here every week for lunch, and it's usually very good. But I came with friends on Tuesday and we had the worst meal we've ever had in here, the portion size was so small we thought you'd served us a kids portion, just wondering if you'd cut the sizes of your meals as it's holiday season and trying to rip the holiday makers off. Not good, shall have to think about coming here again

We booked the Greyhound as we needed to be specifically in Bridport and it is right in the centre and it was reasonably priced, we paid around £70.00 per night for a family room which consisted of a large room with a double bed and then some stairs up to twin beds in another double room. The room we used with the double bed was just fantastic, the bathroom was so spotless with lots of fluffy towels. There was a large TV loads of tea/coffee and bottled water. We had a problem with the air con which was sorted eventually. We stayed in room 209 which was up a couple of flights of stairs (no lift) but it wasn't a problem. We arrived Sunday so we had a bit of noise in our room but it went quite around 11, on the Monday night it was much quieter. It is a very busy pub and the staff work really hard but there are helpful and polite. We had breakfast downstairs in the pub both mornings and it was good enough and very reasonably priced. A special thank you to Kristy who checked us in via the "reception" area, which is just a cupboard! She was very professional and we referred to her over a couple of things and she was great. I did go to this hotel with a fair bit of skepticism even after reading the good reviews on T.A but I was delighted with our stay and would most definitely stay again, well done Kristy and all the staff.

Lovely spacious refurbished room. Very clean, King size bed, TV, air conditioning, tea and coffee facilities and walk in shower. I was right at the top and it was very quiet. I literally only slept here. The only downside to these rooms is you have to walk through the bar to get to them and use the stairs that everyone else uses to access the loos! The rooms are secure though - you need a key card to go through the communal door and the same card will open your room door. Check in was peculiar as you aksed at the bar and they open a cupboard in the main entrance to use the computer - a bit strange but it's minimalist! Great location for accessing all of Bridport and the rooms are nice. I would stay here again. Please note the nearest Car Park is a short walk through the town and down a back street (located on Rax Lane free 6pm-8am).

We visited this pub in late June.It was very busy on the Friday night but that didn't cause a problem for the extremely well trained staff. The meals were excellent value as were the drinks. The room was very spacious and air conditioned which went down very well as we were in the middle of a heat wave!A great place to stay if you wish to enjoy a walk along the Jurrassic Coastline. There is also a market on the Saturday morning.Great value stay!

Only stopped for breakfast but it was so good we came back the next week. All freshly cooked and well presented. Nice friendly staff, which I appreciate as I have mobility problems and need a walking aid the girls brought the coffees to the table, which some places do not. Thanks to you all.

Dirty carpets and tables so you can only guess at what the kitchen is like. Wait ages to get served. Bridport is full of great eateries and coffee shops. This place is so awful!

Where else could I get a superbly cooked mixed grill and a pint for £10.65? I dont have to say anymore than that - the food the service the presentation and the drinks selection would put many other outlets to shame. Best pub meal for ages. Only one downside - the ordering app was difficult to understand so I gave up.

We went here twice first time was a sunday and it was very quiet got a table quickly. Ordered food and it was brought to the table within about 5 minutes, I had a mixed grill the meat was only warm but tasted good my husband had a steak which he was really impressed with. We came back on the Friday as we were on holiday as it's cheapish, we couldn't get a table for ages as it was busy, when we did the table was dirty the floor was full of trodden in food, we ordered and once the food came the waitress was so miserable she threw the food at us, food was ok not the best. I asked the same waitress where the toilets were she almost bit my head off telling me they were upstairs, I would never go back here I would rather drive into weymouth to eat.

Came into venue on Bank Holiday on my own waiting for family. Bought a drink for very reasonable price. However floor of entire eating area in main bar covered in food. Tables left with half eaten food. None of the limited staff really seemed to care.Left before family arrived.Standard really deteriorated since last visit in the Autumn.Find somewhere else, where they pay a little more respect to hygiene.

First problem with this weather spoons is there is no nominated queuing area for food and hot drinks. If you want beer which after all is the main function of a pub you have to queue for ages as no dedicated lines and a shortage of serving staff even at lunch times.Secondly, if you are trying to find a table particularly outside none will have been cleared of glasses or meal dishes. Staff, both on duty and off duty including management have social meetings there and then leave oblivious to the need for clearing tables. I longer go to the Greyhound as my wife can't stand the messy tables.

I eat here regularly and have done for many years and I've seen great improvements in that time. Many of the reviews talk negatively of this place but given the extremely poplar location and limited space on offer in Bridport this place far exceeds expectations. The staff are lovely although occasionally very busy on market days/peak times which can sometimes lead to queueing at the bar and a slight wait for food. In the most part the food is well presented and served quickly. This is by no means the worst whetherspoons, I feel some people expect too much of a small town!

What is the point of introducing an option of ordering drinks, food etc from your table, and having it delivered, when the staff get funny with you for using it. I ordered a drink, the lad just shook his head and I waited ages. It didn't arrive at the table, I was told to go to the bar to collect it.

This is the worst JD Wetherspoon pub we have ever been in. All we wanted was 4 coffees. Big mistake. We joined the queue and it soon became obvious that there was not enough staff. It took us quite literally 15 minutes to get served. Once served, it took a further 15 minutes to get the coffees. There was only one full time lady on, and she was trying (struggling) to manage and also train 2 trainees who had absolutely no idea of what they were doing. All I can say is that I am glad that we didn't need anything to eat. We spoke to the manager who told us that he was very low on staff, and I asked why couldn't they use temps????? They need to get their act together before they lose their customers. Everyone was complaining. Dreadful service (or lack of it). Next time I visit Bridport, I will go to an independent coffee café.

We had a great welcome and explanation of the various menu options Then another member of staff, manager maybe as she wasn’t in a uniform and didn’t look tidy, started to mess us about moving seats and things, and not in a particularly polite way Had we not already got the children comfortable I’d have walked and given a better deserving business my money

I visited Summer Lodge with a friend to celebrate her birthday. We ordered a cream tea which was advertised as freshly baked scones daily. We were shown to the drawing room and sat down. Then a waiter came to ask what tea we would like and tried to joke with us which was not necessary. The scones arrived and were frozen in the middle! So much for freshly baked scones! When I complained the waiter then said ' so much for our freshly baked scones!' Then joked that we must have got them out of our handbags! Totally inappropriate. Not a great experience for parting with £34 for 2 cream teas! The building and setting is very lovely. A shame that our experience was not up to expected standards.
