Total lack of customer service. Walked in to order takeaway coffee and absolutely no acknowledgment of presence.
She continued preparing orders without even acknowledging me or saying ‘I’ll be a moment’ which is not taxing to do. After 5 minutes of being completely ignored I left and got my coffee elsewhere.
At least acknowledge customers when they’re waiting!
This takeaway has not been open for several months now. New owners took over the business, renaming it and then after a few months, they seem to have disappeared. No signs on the door, there's been no indication of re-opening and the owners haven't been seen. One former member of staff has said that they have permanently closed but this is unconfirmed.
Wanted fish and chip takeaway. Ordered 1 medium fish and chips and 1 small but were told by young man behind bar that we could only have medium haddock or large cod. I’m not a huge fish eater so my Husband had large cod and I opted for just chips (could share some of his fish) when it was handed over it was a medium size cod with a small cod sat on top! The cost was over £22! This was more than a small and medium cod and chips which we originally wanted. Another customer was served the same. Although the food was nice being ripped off left a sour taste! We won’t be rushing back which is a shame as we visit Slapton a few times a year.
Called in whilst on holiday and had the red Thai curry, absolutely awful, just a few small cubes of spicy beef and rice it was just so dry,
It came with 2 poppadoms which were okay.
We visited the pub previously and just had a drink which was fine, but I won’t go back there again even for a drink after being served with such substandard food.
Very disappointed.
Food not quite so good this week. Fish a tad overcooked and chips a tad under.
Update during school holidays:
Last few weeks have been great but today it was almost as if quality has gone out the window. Fish batter was poor, chips undercooked and I'm sure the battered sausages were extra cheap (definitely not their normal supplier). I really should remember not to visit during holiday times. This is the same problem with so many local outlets - quality goes down when turnover goes up.
Went for brunch and it was very busy but the service was excellent.
I ordered the big breakfast which was cooked to perfection, thick bacon, tasty sausages, perfect fried eggs, hash browns were extra crispy and tasty, everything on the plate was delicious, even the baked beans which i dont normally eat and best of all it was hot and stayed hot until i finished it. I also had mocha which was creamy and rich and in a large mug, a really good hot drink.
The wife had the ham and cheese croissant which she said was yummy and loved the mix of bechamel and cheddar cheese.
Service was quick and ever so friendly. The food and drink was reasonably priced and well worth it for the quality.
We sat right next to the rivers edge which lovely. Would be incredible on a hot summers day.
We will be back soon.
Thankyou
Awful was served a dish of slop which was named as Moussaka on the menu.Manager not bothered when I mentioned this .Apparently this was a best seller and this is how it is served.Never Again is all I can say
Discovered this little gem last week, and have already returned. Food is excellent and a great price. Salt and chilli squid starter to die for. The hostess is wonderful.
