Not a fan of the service I found the lady be very flippant in her responses, coffee isn’t made correctly either lack of knowledge or undue care, pricing isn’t fair to the customer (same amount of coffee in regular and large you pay 30p for more water if you bring your own cup) won’t be returning, hope they manage to get it right

The cakes and food are good. The taste of coffee is good but I've been in a few times now and the cappuccino they make are not correct. I am a trained barista hence the comment. The foamed milk at the top is not right. With a correct cappuccino you should be able to rest a tea spoon on top of the foam and it would not drop straight in. The cappuccino here is more like a latte with chocolate on top. I feel like I'm being harsh as everything else is great. Just a little barista training then it would be 5 star.

If you go for a full English breakfast, make sure you get there before 1145! The price goes up by £3. Imagine my disappointment when I got there at 11:46 and had to pay an extra £6 for two breakfasts! 😡😡 Breakfast was okay but nothing special. in addition although pretty expensive, does did not come on a full size dinner plate despite mine being the more expensive lunchtime menu version! On the plus side, the venue is attractive and has lovely views of the river!!

A friend invited me to this cafe. Initially, I walked right past it. It doesn't stand out at all along with many other shops in Ivybridge. It's not huge, but enough tables. The cappuccino was divine and the service was good too.

Absolutely appalled by the so called Bacon rolls and cold coffee which they had to remake the coffee ,,got told I should have asked for hot coffee as they only do warm coffee. 2 tiny strips of streaky bacon in a roll which was toasted ,cost of this was £ 17.70 (2 coffee's and bacon roll. Will not return too pricy for what you get.

Limited choice for a decent cup of coffee in Ivybridge, but Hetties is by far the best. Can get busy.

We were very nicely served - which had not been the case on a couple of previous occasions. This waitress was hard-working, personable and obliging. The drinks (three coffees and a tea between two of us on a meet-up to catch up with each other) were good; water brought automatically - good. We'd like to see more 'ethical' and non-dairy milk supported by removing surcharges on non-dairy milk or at least on one variety. Finding anywhere open for coffee on a Saturday afternoon in Ivybridge was challenging(!), so we were grateful to have Hettie's.

This is a lovely small cafe with a pleasant atmosphere. It serves sandwiches, paninis and toasties plus an assortment of drinks including smoothies. The staff are helpful and if there is a problem they always sort it out without question.

Amazing subs! It’s a nice change from just having sandwiches all the time.

Had a really enjoyable sourdough toastie... Side salad was generous, good quality and nice dressing on the side. Served quickly, great service and a nice place to sit and enjoy a cuppa/bite to eat. Will definitely return

We visited Hettie's yesterday after reading a review here and were very disappointed, the staff were rude and the very expensive hot chocolate, people raved about, was lukewarm, we will not be visiting again !

First visit and will definately return. Probably one of the best tasting creamy lattes we've had!(Ordered 2 large lattes and a large caramel latte). Beats all the high street stores for flavour and a also great service, friendly helpful staff. Thanks.

Just had the best Brie, Bacon and Cranberry Toastie here, it was listed as a panini but I asked if I could swap out for the brown sourdough bread, they were more than happy to do so. It was so good i'm writing this review just after finishing it. Very lovely service. :-)

All of the staff are both incredibly friendly, and very accomodating. The coffee and food is also brilliant, the best I've found in Ivybridge so far! Prices are really reasonable too, and they have vegan options for drinks, sweet treats, and meals. Hetties is a really nice independent coffee shop with a nice atmosphere, I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for something to eat or drink in Ivybridge, especially those looking for somewhere dog friendly and/or with special dietary requirements.

I would always give the coffee five stars but no matter which staff serve you they always make you feel like they are doing you a favour by serving you! It's the coffee that takes me back there......

Something about the magic combination of Devon Coffee Company coffee and Hettie's baristas makes for the best cup of coffee I have truly ever had. Add to that a modern coffee shop feel and all the outside seating they have worked out for Covid (a Hettie's coffee is the thing I missed most during lockdown) and you've got a great place to go for a coffee in Ivybridge.

Local coffee and great custard tarts

Stopped by quickly and had a yummy cake (choc muffin and apple shortbread) and tea. Would definitely recommend this place!

April 2019:Does the best capachino ever! Highly recommended place! February 2020:Is still the best place to go grab coffee no doubt about it. It's a nice chilled atmosphere and all the staff are nice,chilled and good at time management. Food came quick and was really nice. Still the best coffee place in my opinion.

One of the few coffee places in the town open at 4pm. Had a coffee and a vegan brownie - yum! The coffee was excellent - would definitely visit again.

Lovely little cafe in the middle of the town centre. Not a large seating area but I found that better. As it feels more personal. Staff were lovely and very pleasant. I had a lovely coffee with a toasted cheese and ham sammich with crisps and salad. It was very nice and tasty. All in all a lovely place to go to relax. Well reccomend .

Great place, had a delicious cup of teapigs tea and a really good, properly gooie chocolate brownie. Staff were pleasant, nice books to read and watch the world go by. Would recommend

Bad service waited an hour for a panini no apology for laterness several other people complained as well, they didnt seem bothered never go there again.

Good tea and coffee. Delicious cheese and tomato sourdough toastie, with good quality fresh salad and nice crisps on the side. Good value, nice atmosphere and clean (including the loos). Friendly and efficient service. Would recommend.

Great little coffee shop! Accommodating for dogs of all sizes and clearly a popular destination for locals! Ethically sourced drinks sold and local coffee (a very fruity blend not to our usual taste, but great if you don’t mind). Great service from the barista too.

We popped in on a cold day for coffees and were welcomed by the warmth.....of the heating....not the staff!! We weren’t served immediately even though there were two members of staff, so were actually made to feel a little uncomfortable just standing at the empty counter waiting! The coffees were actually very nice and served to the table. Perhaps we will return, just to see if we get better service, with perhaps even a little bit of friendliness and a smile!? Before I wrote this I read other reviews and see that this has been flagged up quite a few times in the last few years.....surprising in such a small family business!

Had to wait a bit before being served as the employee was in the kitchen. There is a bell you can ring though. Good coffees and drinks and the food looked good. We were a bit disappointed that the toasted teacake was burnt so we sent it back and one half came back burned again. Not enough energy to send it back again as the drinks were cold by then. Handy place to eat and drink in Ivybridge. Will give it another go.

Called in for a sit down, relax and a coffee. Expecting a greeting from the owner/manager I was disappointed! She was preoccupied having a personal conversation with a friend/business associate and I was made to feel like a hindrance. I was expecting a better than costa/starbucks experience from a small, privately owned local business but this was inferior.. Very disappointing. I'm sure that most small businesses realise they need to offer great customer service if they are going to survive. This one needs to get its act together

Really friendly and helpful service, the best I've received in a long time and fantastic with my very grumpy 2 year old! Had a detox smoothie (seeing as it's January and it sounded tasty!) and it was lovely- would really recommend.

Attending with family and having several drinks, unfortunately not fast enough for the staff, asked leave even though waiting for more family members to arrive!!I meet my mum here but have never been asked to leave a place that was not full before in my life. I will not return as the service in this particular occasion was appalling.

Great coffee. But extremely small shop, lots of musical chairs as people try to get to a table or leave a table.

We come to Hetties for breakfast after our sons swimming lesson. It's lovely. Food and service are great. Not a huge menu but what they do, they do well.

The coffee here is amazing. They use coffee from Devon Coffee Company, which I've had in a few different places, and this is by far the best one I've had. Barista knows her stuff!
