The best restaurants serving Default food in Wells Central Mendip South West

My first visit to this family run pizzeria which didn’t disappoint. Fantastic pizza and warm and welcoming staff - can’t recommend highly enough and will definitely return.

Fantastic cafe , great food, great drinks, excellent service and lovely inside.

Lovely cappuccino and the staff were friendly and helpful. Friends that I was with had lunch and they had dietary needs, that the staff were really great with and offered alternatives. We were made to feel welcome throughout our visit and I will definitely be back again.

Yummy food, quick service and clean cafe! Very cosy vibes with a wise range of seating. I had french toast and breakfast burger ans it was delicious!!

This lovely café is a regular of mine, such warm, genuine and friendly service and the food is always absolutely delicious, with lots to choose. I went in recently just for a coffee. I was quite down, I having one of those bad days and all of a sudden I was presented with a delicious piece of complimentary cake. Completely made my day. We went here last night 19/8. Decorated really nice. Food was outstanding. The staff were really friendly and very polite. We are here on a short break, but cant praise it enough.

First visit. We sat in the small bar area but noticed that all the other diners on the day sat in a lounge opposite. The bar is cosy, perhaps the difference was table service in the lounge but as we were the only ones in the bar we in effect also got table service! Lunch was only from the set 2/3 course menu. Staff very friendly and helpful. We ordered whitebait and sweet potato hash as starters, both were done well. Mains were the rump steak (an additional £4) and fishcakes (trout and haddock, perhaps an odd mixture but moreish ). Quality excellent. The steal local and dry aged, cooked exactly to liking, and really was tasty and tender, came with 2 eggs! The 2 fishcakes were equally excellent. In all a filling lunch! Because we sat in the bar the service charge was only added to the food element - what a great example of good hospitality. Would return.

A restaurant we’ve been wanting to visit for a while and I honestly do not know why we waited so long. The staff were very welcoming. The atmosphere was very cosy and warm. One of the best Italian restaurants I’ve visited. Such a nice experience which we will be doing again very soon.

Popped in on a quiet sunny March time. It had a few customers which grew in numbers during our time there. We had a lovely greeting, and teh quality of service was kept up during our visit. The food was tasty and reasonably priced

Narrowly missing the 1 star, terrible room, "deluxe four post bedroom" £139 staff good but VERY understaffed protracting the check in, we had to leave and come back! Management obviously don't care a few hundred pounds could sort the room! we stayed 26/10/24 for a family "do" and meal at the hotel. Staff tried very hard, even receptionist only been there a couple weeks excellent but overall would try the Penguin next time. Amazing location - with a carpark, but the basics at any hotel is to make the rooms excellent. this Hotel just relies on the location. just not good enough, sorry to say.

Nice place for a beer, beer garden at the back. One IPA on tap. Nice atmosphere.

The best in the area. Food is excellent, repeatable, and unpretentious. Highly recommend.

The owners are a wonderful family. The Chip shop style menu is brilliant and well priced. Also does great takeaways and delivery. Lovely entertainment and pub sports venue, as well as a great home to many teams, clubs and community groups. Really great visiting The venue. Definitely recommended

Often, when I go to Italian restaurants I am left quite disappointed. This occasion was quite the contrast, Was greeted and taken to our table relatively quickly. The area was clean, the servers were saying about but very friendly and interactive. We ended up speaking to someone called "Ryan" (I think, sorry if I got it wrong) who was just the most charming person ever and a great representative of your company. The food was beautifully cooked with just the right amount of sauce, and the quality of the pasta was delicious. I would highly recommend the food, the atmosphere and especially the high quality customer service. If I didn't live so far away, I'd be coming back more frequently.
