We went here last night 19/8. Decorated really nice. Food was outstanding. The staff were really friendly and very polite. We are here on a short break, but cant praise it enough.

Most unimpressed. I do wish the younger generation of restaurant entrepreneurs (in this case of Bangladeshi heritage) would stop messing about with traditional recipes. The use of red food colour in this dish of Fish Marsala was just gross; see the photo. In addition it didn't taste of much, I can, and do, much better at home.

I have been a regular customer of Ajwa for a few years and this has been the best Indian restaurant in the area and the food was excellent IMHO. I ordered a chicken jalfrezi with a peshwari nan and a side bindi bhaji. The service was very polite and friendly, but the food was ordinary. There was way too much red sauce with the jalfrezi, which previously has been a relatively dry dish. Also the peshwari nan had a red paste in it, which I’ve never seen before. There didn’t seem to be much coconut, sultanas or almonds. I think the chefs have changed (were from table 8 in Wedmore). Probably won’t bother any more. Shame.

Very nice takeaway on a busy Sunday evening x Every so often we will pick up a takeaway and are always impressed by how ‘clean’ the flavours are . Have also eaten in the staff are sensational and incredibly polite x

Went for a meal with friends (6 of us in total) after a busy day. Food when it eventually came was very good. However the service was appallingly slow. We had to ask at least 4 times to place our order for main courses, having waited for at least 15 minutes for our initial drinks to arrive. We had been in the restaurant for an hour and a quarter before our orders were taken! After our meal, we again had to ask repeatedly for the bill. Eventually we gave up and went up to the till to pay, only to have to wait another 5 minutes for them to work it out. Very disappointing, clearly understaffed. A meal out shouldn’t take 3 and a quarter hours.

18 High Street, Sandown PO36 8DE EnglandFour of us visited for the first time and we were very impressed. We were welcomed and shown to our table very courteously and first impressions were positive. Very smart appearance, clean and well maintained. Our drinks order was brought to the table quickly and our food followed after we had finished our poppadoms served with delicious dips and relishes. Our main meals were excellent with good sized portions. All the staff were friendly and helpful. So pleased we chose Cardamom Sandown and will definately be returning. Highly recommended.
