Such a wonderfully welcoming and relaxed restaurant with the most amazing food right in the heart of England’s tiniest city. We went for a family New Years Eve meal and the service and food was absolutely spot on. We will definitely return. Highly recommended!

Rather disappointing. Group of 7 for the festive set menu. Food was average, nothing special. Seemed to have run out of lots of things…. No ice for our drinks, no mint sauce to accompany the lamb, no extra gravy. Shouty waitress (we were the only group in at the time) I don’t know why she had to shout? Think we’ll give this a miss and go somewhere else next time.

We had a fabulous meal here at the weekend. The menu was small but had a beautiful selection of dishes fit for any foodie that are clearly chosen for the quality, freshness and seasonality at the time. Really well balanced and perfectly cooked. Delicious!! Highly recommended

We dropped into Noshtalgia and thought the food was fabulous. Great distinct flavours and very lushious. Had the seafood and chorizo linguine with old Winchester cheese- so delicious. Then almond orange sponge with mango sorbet and star anise caramel.

Ate here when staying for one night in Wells. It has lovely, quirky decor and the menu is a refreshing change from the norm. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the wine was excellent. Will definitely visit the next time we're in Wells.

Absolutely blown out of the water at how fantastic this place was. So different than anyone else in the neighborhood. Happy to cater to my picky husband (he prefers burgers and pizza) and I got to have the yummiest most divine meal. We were lucky enough to have a few meals here and we were never disappointed. Truly a hidden gem. Try it out you won't be disappointed.

We had an absolutely amazing lunch and dinner here. Wonderful presentation, staff was incredibly kind and helpful. The chef went out of his way to let us order from the lunch menu one evening and my husband had the best burger he's ever eaten. If you're thinking about popping in, make a reservation and try this hidden gem.

This place is just off one of the car parks and many seem to just walk on by. We didn't and in return were treated to a lovely meal albeit without many other diners present. The menu changes regularly and we had a meal of the September menu, which has a good range of dishes and is quite different from standard run of the mill menus. Visitors to the area should really give this place a try.

Fabulous meal at this hidden gem. Great gluten free options which is always a relief! Waitress really helpful and friendly, giving us plenty of catch up/ chat time whist still making sure we were looked after. Will definitely be back next time I’m in Wells.

Went for an evening meal with friends. The food, service and prices were all excellent. The food was well prepared and very well presented. I would have no hesitation in going back or recommending to friends and family.

We just enjoyed a delicious meal at Nosh on Saturday night whilst staying in Wells for the weekend. The place is tucked away off the High St and could easily be missed. The decor was quite quirky and different and was a very relaxed atmosphere. Service was spot on, friendly, helpful and attentive. We enjoyed the Gazpacho and Bath Soft starters followed by King Prawn linguine and pork dishes. My husband had room for the orange cake with Baileys ice cream. It was all beautifully presented and very tasty. The menu apparently changes often to the fresh produce avaliable. We would definitely recommend and visit again if in Wells.

Just had a most incredible meal here. The food was all amazing, the service friendly and genuine and we were made to feel special without it being pretentious. Nothing was too much trouble. Portions generous and prices very reasonable. Everyone needs to try this lovely place. We live in a totally different part of the country but will make a point of coming back to Wells just to visit this restaurant.

We took a chance and arrived as they opened. The Owner/Chef Leigh squeezed us in as he was due a very busy evening. I'm so glad he did, as the food was excellent. We have a fussy child, who promised to try new dishes including the Ham Hock Terrine which he devoured, which is a major compliment! The rest of the starters were great, the gazpacho was a stand out dish. The mains had a hard job following the starters, but really didn't disappoint. They were fabulous. The Ox Cheek was so well cooked, unbelievably tender and so flavoursome. The prawn tagliatelle was beautifully cooked with a "yummy" sauce. Desserts continued the theme of the rest of the meal being incredibly good, tangerine and almond sponge, Eton mess, affagato and sticky toffee pudding were all seriously well done. Sarah on front of house was a friendly and welcoming host and Leigh is a one man miracle in his kitchen. If we lived closer, we'd be regulars. If you are in Wells, go.

A proper treat in Wells with a standout menu that offers something different from other local eateries. Right next to the carpark so it's a no-brainer to always pop in each time I visit the town.

We highly recommend this amazing gem of a restaurant. Lucky to have been here twice and each time the food has been superb, really nice atmosphere, and have thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The second time we were incredibly lucky and the owner offered to open on a Sunday when they are usually closed for a family occasion. So incredibly flexible and accommoding and at such short notice too. Cannot wait for when we book again. Delicious, delicious food!!

Had a three course dinner this weekend for a special occasion - food was absolutely delicious and would highly recommend.

We visited Wells for a 70th birthday celebration and booked a meal at Noshstalgia on the strength of reviews and the online menu. We certainly weren't disappointed - it was a quiet night but service and food were both excellent. Interesting flavour combinations, well-judged portion sizes, perfectly cooked, and delighted that about 90% of the menu was available gluten-free. Short, informal wine list, and prices (like the food) not excessive. Quirky decor, nice music. If we find ourselves in Wells again we'll certainly be back.

Quaint restaurant within feet of union Street car park. Went for evening meal , The food for all courses was amazing beautifully cooked and presented. Recomend the Eton Mess. Don't pass it by the best food on this holiday.

My daughter and I had a delicious lunch - ravioli stuffed with butternut squash, ham hock terrine and local ice cream. It was very nice INDEED! Had a chat with the chef, and he said that if you use top quality ingredients, they “sing”. This must be secret! The vibe is relaxed, the decor pleasantly quirky/shabby chic/industrial, with a decent view of one of the little streets of old houses in Wells, but next to a car park, and 2 minutes walk from the main street, 10 minutes from the cathedral. Highly recommended!

Great little restaurant, abit quirky decor but it's got a lovely vibe. The food was delicious and the presentation was beautiful, I had the salmon, goat cheese, beetroot salad starter, very moorish my main course was hake and cooked to perfection. I would totally recommend this restaurant to anyone staying in Wells. One thing strange though as no drink/wine menu so waitress had to relay all the beers wine etc

We were visiting Wells and the owners of the bed and breakfast, suggested we had dinner at this family run restaurant. We were delighted that we did. The food is superb and all homemade. We shared the ravioli pasta as a starter, which was light and every bite flavoursome. Followed by the hake, which had been cooked to perfection. We also shared a cheese board, that included interesting choices, with plenty of crackers. Although the exterior is modern, the restaurant interior is quirkily decorated, which adds to the ambience. There are several sized tables, to suit the number of guests. The staff are friendly and welcoming providing a good service. In total we spent £60 with wine and beer - worth every penny. The bathrooms were clean. We had pre-booked because it was Friday night and with this high standard of cuisine, it's definitely advisable. This is located just off the high street, adjacent to a spacious car park, which is free after 6pm. An absolute must if you are in the area.

Really yums, the food was on point, I read the reviews for places to eat in Wells, followed everyone else nose and have now gone to print.... It was Fabulous! Really enjoyable, fine dining, but very relaxed setting. Freindly and attentive staff, excellent and clean facilities and busy passionate chefs..... What more could you ask for. Decent.

Our first visit, they'd had cancellations so really quiet tonight but the food was fantastic, tasty chicken flatbread, perfectly cooked pork belly and yummy puds. Great food and good service, what more could you want? Oh and unique decor plus music at just the right volume (haven't heard Deep Purple's Smoke on the Water as low level background music before but it really does work). Highly recommended!

Wow. What wonderful food. 4 of us had dinner, starters mains and puds and every dish was a triumph! The butternut squash ravioli was delish…will have that as a main next time. Tiger prawns in red curry were amazing as was the cod with shrimp...

Wow! Wow! Wow! If your looking for great fresh food, beautifully cooked, this is your place to go. It's off the main high street so can be easily missed but if you're in Wells, make the effort, its well worth it. My husband had the heritage tomatoes and goat's cheese curd followed by fresh hake. I had prawn with small mackerel patty and salmon bonbon, also followed by the hake. And wow, was it delicious. Didn't have room for a dessert but I have no doubt they would also have been gorgeous. Wish I lived nearer so could visit this little gem more often. Well done chef Leigh and Sarah his very friendly 'front of house'.

We recently booked here for a family occasion, we have been a couple of times on a lunchtime so thought we’d try for a birthday dinner. The food was fantastic, I had the heritage tomato starter and belly pork for main. Both tasted delicious and were also presented fabulously. All our party complimented the chef and staff on what was a great night. I would recommend anyone to go try out this gem of a restaurant. The decor is great and you won’t be disappointed.

What a wonderful find!! Tucked away in Union Street next to Union Street carpark, is this delightful and very quaint, little restaurant!! Best coffee for miles with a fantastic choice of delicious, freshly prepared food!! The chef is also the owner, lovely chap!!! If you enjoy good food this is a must!! Bon appetite! 😊

If you appreciate good food, this place is a gem and not going to dissappoint. The menu is limited and will vary but will have a range of dishes to satisfy most people. The presentation of the food just increases the enjoyment of eating the well prepared and delicious food. There were seven hungry souls that turned up and all thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Top marks to the chef!

The outside does not do this quirky place justice. Unfortunately we were not hungry, after a hotel breakfast, but the menu looked very tasty. Coffe was hot and strong and decor was an eclectic mix of 'stuff'. Great service too!

The restaurant itself is also really quirky & special with tons of interesting things around the place, creating that sense of nostalgia! I’d definitely recommend this restaurant based on the special touch, great customer service, unique & very tasty food & it’s also really different. Great find!

I haven't been here for months due to covid. They have added more quirky things including a huge panther crawling down the wall. Whilst respecting social distancing there were enough people chatting to give it a lovely atmosphere. Their flat whites were large but reassuringly...

We were camping near by and called in for breakfast and what a lovely experience. Stunning and different environment and atmosphere . The food and drinks are to a great standard if a little expensive. If we lived closer I would definitely go back.

Visiting Wells we found this uniquely decorated restaurant which had a small, but perfectly formed menu of delights...the first time it was venison and duck which tempted and satisfied from first to last bite, and today the pork belly for my better half. I chose 2 starters which the chef married into a perfect light but tasty main. No more to say but please try this brilliant eatery!

Quirky ‘noshtalgic’ surroundings and an amazingly imaginative and creative menu. The food on both occasions was delicious but very reasonably priced with very friendly service. Leigh, Sarah and Shirley deserve high praise and more local support for their fabulous food especially in these trying times. As visitors to Wells we found ourselves dining there on two consecutive nights as it was so good! If we return to Wells we will be back! Good luck!

Had a wonderful meal here other other evening, great service and good choice, all well prepared and very tasty. One thing that sticks in my mind, apart from the lovely food, was the IPA that the waitress (Sarah?) suggested, very citrussy and just great, sad thing is I did not make a note of what it was called, can anyone help?We'll be back as soon as we can. :)

Disappointed in the food, gnocchi was served in what seemed to be tinned tomatoes as the sauce. No sparkling water available. Supposed to have an AA rated chef, I wonder if he has left.

We were visiting Wells for a couple of days and I chose this restaurant based on a sample dinner menu I saw on the website. Imaginative and beautifully cooked food, one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time amidst quite quirky surroundings. Excellent Somerset cider too. Great to have a chat afterwards to the chef/owner and the very friendly and humorous woman who served us. Will definitely return for more! Thanks for a great end to our day.

Nice little place with good character. They got my order wrong but offered me the dish at half price (tagliatelle with peas and broad beans) so I took it and I'm glad I did as it was delicious!

We called in first thing on a market Wednesday on a whim and were very pleasantly impressed. Great service from a cheery waitress and really fast delivery of poached eggs, avocado and bacon on toast for me, and pancakes and bacon with syrup for my partner.Great quirky decor with old books for boys that made my son and I chuckle.

Stop for lunch with my family.The food was great we had burgers and chips, Mac and cheese and pancakes with bacon I would say all was home made. The girl working was very helpful and great at her job even though she was rushed off her feet still had time for a little chat and made sure we enjoyed are meal ( 3 empty plates )

We stopped for a coffee in this lovely little place after parking the car, as it was the first place we came across - actually in the car park. Service was friendly and it tasted good. What more is there to say?

We came here for a group meal and I only have good things to say! Staff where really friendly and welcoming, great with the children and the atmosphere is really nice too. But most importantly the food! The food was delicious everyone was very happy with the quality of it all and the presentation was great! Had a fantastic meal here this evening!Lived in Wells for 16 years, and can honestly say this was the best meal we’ve ever had locally. Fantastic choice of ingredients which complimented each other perfectly, a really well considered blend of flavours. There’s lots of places that will do your usual pub grub, but if you’re after something special this really is the place fo come. Lovely service with friendly staff, already looking forward to our next visit!

My brother and I popped in to this charming place just on the off chance. It’s tastefully decorated and we were greeted by a charming lady. I had a full English breakfast and I have to say it was cooked to absolute perfection! Absolutely top notch!!

We’ve been meaning to try ‘Nosh’ for ages now, being local to wells. We tried once before but were told they weren’t opening because there weren’t enough bookings. So This time we were sure to book a table. Warm welcome, drinks arrived quickly and a lot appealed on the menu! We both had a starter and main, all were totally delicious!! ...and presented beautifully! We’ve lived in and around wells for a fair few years now and have recently startedWorking out way through all the restaurants/pubs! (Kind of a New Years resolution to get us out more!) so far I would say this little gem has impressed us the most! Mainly because it just looks like a cafe (a really cool and quirky one!) The sad thing was, it was totally empty the whole hour and a half we were there. And I really don’t know why?! We will definitely be back, and will next time try breakfast!! Over all, had Great food, all perfectly cooked! Check it out!

We have just held a surprise birthday party in the restaurant with 20 guests and everything was excellent from start to finish. Leigh and Sarah were really helpful during the organising, the food and service were both great, all of the guests were very impressed with the restaurant and it all went to create the memorable day that we were hoping for.

We booked a Xmas lunch through Facebook messenger and have heard such great things about this place. Upon arriving was told that they didn’t have us down for Xmas meal and waitress would need yo know what we wanted so she could check with the chef... (my friend hadn’t even arrived yet) so I had to order for both of us- not a great start. Food was lovely but the place was empty with no atmosphere or ambiance. When the puddings arrived... they got the order wrong but we couldn’t be bothered to kick up a fuss - (my friend had been so excited about the pudding at hot she didn’t receive). We ordered coffees and the bill - the bill arrived hand written on a piece of paper and we had been charged for the coffees - which on their menu comes with the Xmas meal along with Petit-four which we never received. I explained this to the waitress and she went and had a word with the chef and then took the coffee off the bill and said that the menu we had seen which included coffees was the Oct menu and you had to pre order by Oct - which is completely untrue as if you look on their website - clearly says it’s included. (No mention of Oct pre booking) just be honest if you make a mistake. As we were friends - we wanted to split the bill - I had card - friend had cash - we were told that we couldn’t pay this way ... had to be cash or card.... we were quite amazed as surely you can take payment on card and pay cash... in the end I just put it on my card. Place wasn’t busy - just us and one other table - so no excise for all of the above. Just a shame as we had really been looking forward to this lunch... luckily the company was lovely!!!

Well our party of eight arrived for a festive evening to an empty restaurant - not a good start. But we had our own entertainment so it did not matter. The Pre-ordered food arrived and all thoroughly enjoyed it. Everyone had prawn cocktails to start - plump little chaps nestled in a glass with the usual additions then a mix of festive turkey and sea bream again all excellent. The cooking was great but a shame nobody else seems to know about it.

Booked for lunch with friends as I had read some good reviews advising booking advisable.When we arrived at 12.30 the place was empty so not required! Only one member of staff in sight - a (presumably) teenage waitress who was arrogant and as unhelpful as possible.IDemanded to know what wee wanted to drink before we had even taken outr seats. With some difficulty I managed to persuade her to check with the chef if any vegan food available.I do not want to be told that dishes 'may have cream in them' if I ask for vegan.(It is mentioned in the publicity that the cafe is 'vegan- friendly'.She informed me that there was a pasta dish available which was vegan.I very much doubt this as pasta normally contains egg so opted for a 'large' portion of tomato soup.This transpired to be 2 ins of soup in the bottom of a small jar.I queried whether this was large portion and was adamantly assured that it was. (About half the size of a small portion in the 'Good Earth').The 3 omnivores with me were eaqually disatisfied with their meals e.g. 'toad in the hole' was a dried up portion of same served without any salad, veg or garnish.Waitress approached us at intervals to ask if we had finished yet when quite obviously we were still eating!Only thing I found satisfactory was the coffee and tea.Somewhat to my surprise by this time, soya milk was available.All in all not an experience to be repeated.Back to the 'Good Earth' next time we visit Wells!

Had very good burger and chips for lunch.One of my family had fish and chips which she enjoyed my son-in-law had aubergine and couscous also very good.Very quirky furnishings and quite unusual choices n the menu.My one criticism is food being served on boards, slate etc. one of my pet hates. Much prefer a plate.
