Such a wonderfully welcoming and relaxed restaurant with the most amazing food right in the heart of England’s tiniest city. We went for a family New Years Eve meal and the service and food was absolutely spot on. We will definitely return. Highly recommended!

Rather disappointing. Group of 7 for the festive set menu. Food was average, nothing special. Seemed to have run out of lots of things…. No ice for our drinks, no mint sauce to accompany the lamb, no extra gravy. Shouty waitress (we were the only group in at the time) I don’t know why she had to shout? Think we’ll give this a miss and go somewhere else next time.

We dropped into Noshtalgia and thought the food was fabulous. Great distinct flavours and very lushious. Had the seafood and chorizo linguine with old Winchester cheese- so delicious. Then almond orange sponge with mango sorbet and star anise caramel.

Ate here when staying for one night in Wells. It has lovely, quirky decor and the menu is a refreshing change from the norm. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the wine was excellent. Will definitely visit the next time we're in Wells.

Absolutely blown out of the water at how fantastic this place was. So different than anyone else in the neighborhood. Happy to cater to my picky husband (he prefers burgers and pizza) and I got to have the yummiest most divine meal. We were lucky enough to have a few meals here and we were never disappointed. Truly a hidden gem. Try it out you won't be disappointed.

This place is just off one of the car parks and many seem to just walk on by. We didn't and in return were treated to a lovely meal albeit without many other diners present. The menu changes regularly and we had a meal of the September menu, which has a good range of dishes and is quite different from standard run of the mill menus. Visitors to the area should really give this place a try.

Fabulous meal at this hidden gem. Great gluten free options which is always a relief! Waitress really helpful and friendly, giving us plenty of catch up/ chat time whist still making sure we were looked after. Will definitely be back next time I’m in Wells.

We just enjoyed a delicious meal at Nosh on Saturday night whilst staying in Wells for the weekend. The place is tucked away off the High St and could easily be missed. The decor was quite quirky and different and was a very relaxed atmosphere. Service was spot on, friendly, helpful and attentive. We enjoyed the Gazpacho and Bath Soft starters followed by King Prawn linguine and pork dishes. My husband had room for the orange cake with Baileys ice cream. It was all beautifully presented and very tasty. The menu apparently changes often to the fresh produce avaliable. We would definitely recommend and visit again if in Wells.

Great menu to chose from. Lovely cooked and fantastically prepared, we were very impressed. Lovely host and chef alike. Nice atmosphere also!

Had a three course dinner this weekend for a special occasion - food was absolutely delicious and would highly recommend.

We visited Wells for a 70th birthday celebration and booked a meal at Noshstalgia on the strength of reviews and the online menu. We certainly weren't disappointed - it was a quiet night but service and food were both excellent. Interesting flavour combinations, well-judged portion sizes, perfectly cooked, and delighted that about 90% of the menu was available gluten-free. Short, informal wine list, and prices (like the food) not excessive. Quirky decor, nice music. If we find ourselves in Wells again we'll certainly be back.

My daughter and I had a delicious lunch - ravioli stuffed with butternut squash, ham hock terrine and local ice cream. It was very nice INDEED! Had a chat with the chef, and he said that if you use top quality ingredients, they “sing”. This must be secret! The vibe is relaxed, the decor pleasantly quirky/shabby chic/industrial, with a decent view of one of the little streets of old houses in Wells, but next to a car park, and 2 minutes walk from the main street, 10 minutes from the cathedral. Highly recommended!

Great little restaurant, abit quirky decor but it's got a lovely vibe. The food was delicious and the presentation was beautiful, I had the salmon, goat cheese, beetroot salad starter, very moorish my main course was hake and cooked to perfection. I would totally recommend this restaurant to anyone staying in Wells. One thing strange though as no drink/wine menu so waitress had to relay all the beers wine etc

This is the second time I've been here with a large party and both times have been wonderful. Fantastic service, friendly and warm atmosphere. The food is the best I've had in Wells by a mile, great presentation and an all round lovely experience

Our first visit, they'd had cancellations so really quiet tonight but the food was fantastic, tasty chicken flatbread, perfectly cooked pork belly and yummy puds. Great food and good service, what more could you want? Oh and unique decor plus music at just the right volume (haven't heard Deep Purple's Smoke on the Water as low level background music before but it really does work). Highly recommended!

Wow. What wonderful food. 4 of us had dinner, starters mains and puds and every dish was a triumph! The butternut squash ravioli was delish…will have that as a main next time. Tiger prawns in red curry were amazing as was the cod with shrimp...

We were camping near by and called in for breakfast and what a lovely experience. Stunning and different environment and atmosphere . The food and drinks are to a great standard if a little expensive. If we lived closer I would definitely go back.

Quirky ‘noshtalgic’ surroundings and an amazingly imaginative and creative menu. The food on both occasions was delicious but very reasonably priced with very friendly service. Leigh, Sarah and Shirley deserve high praise and more local support for their fabulous food especially in these trying times. As visitors to Wells we found ourselves dining there on two consecutive nights as it was so good! If we return to Wells we will be back! Good luck!

Visiting Wells we found this uniquely decorated restaurant which had a small, but perfectly formed menu of delights...the first time it was venison and duck which tempted and satisfied from first to last bite, and today the pork belly for my better half. I chose 2 starters which the chef married into a perfect light but tasty main. No more to say but please try this brilliant eatery!

Had a wonderful meal here other other evening, great service and good choice, all well prepared and very tasty. One thing that sticks in my mind, apart from the lovely food, was the IPA that the waitress (Sarah?) suggested, very citrussy and just great, sad thing is I did not make a note of what it was called, can anyone help?We'll be back as soon as we can. :)

We called in first thing on a market Wednesday on a whim and were very pleasantly impressed. Great service from a cheery waitress and really fast delivery of poached eggs, avocado and bacon on toast for me, and pancakes and bacon with syrup for my partner.Great quirky decor with old books for boys that made my son and I chuckle.

Stop for lunch with my family.The food was great we had burgers and chips, Mac and cheese and pancakes with bacon I would say all was home made. The girl working was very helpful and great at her job even though she was rushed off her feet still had time for a little chat and made sure we enjoyed are meal ( 3 empty plates )

We stopped for a coffee in this lovely little place after parking the car, as it was the first place we came across - actually in the car park. Service was friendly and it tasted good. What more is there to say?

Had a fantastic meal here this evening!Lived in Wells for 16 years, and can honestly say this was the best meal we’ve ever had locally. Fantastic choice of ingredients which complimented each other perfectly, a really well considered blend of flavours. There’s lots of places that will do your usual pub grub, but if you’re after something special this really is the place fo come. Lovely service with friendly staff, already looking forward to our next visit!

My brother and I popped in to this charming place just on the off chance. It’s tastefully decorated and we were greeted by a charming lady. I had a full English breakfast and I have to say it was cooked to absolute perfection! Absolutely top notch!!

We’ve been meaning to try ‘Nosh’ for ages now, being local to wells. We tried once before but were told they weren’t opening because there weren’t enough bookings. So This time we were sure to book a table. Warm welcome, drinks arrived quickly and a lot appealed on the menu! We both had a starter and main, all were totally delicious!! ...and presented beautifully! We’ve lived in and around wells for a fair few years now and have recently startedWorking out way through all the restaurants/pubs! (Kind of a New Years resolution to get us out more!) so far I would say this little gem has impressed us the most! Mainly because it just looks like a cafe (a really cool and quirky one!) The sad thing was, it was totally empty the whole hour and a half we were there. And I really don’t know why?! We will definitely be back, and will next time try breakfast!! Over all, had Great food, all perfectly cooked! Check it out!

We have just held a surprise birthday party in the restaurant with 20 guests and everything was excellent from start to finish. Leigh and Sarah were really helpful during the organising, the food and service were both great, all of the guests were very impressed with the restaurant and it all went to create the memorable day that we were hoping for.

We booked a Xmas lunch through Facebook messenger and have heard such great things about this place. Upon arriving was told that they didn’t have us down for Xmas meal and waitress would need yo know what we wanted so she could check with the chef... (my friend hadn’t even arrived yet) so I had to order for both of us- not a great start. Food was lovely but the place was empty with no atmosphere or ambiance. When the puddings arrived... they got the order wrong but we couldn’t be bothered to kick up a fuss - (my friend had been so excited about the pudding at hot she didn’t receive). We ordered coffees and the bill - the bill arrived hand written on a piece of paper and we had been charged for the coffees - which on their menu comes with the Xmas meal along with Petit-four which we never received. I explained this to the waitress and she went and had a word with the chef and then took the coffee off the bill and said that the menu we had seen which included coffees was the Oct menu and you had to pre order by Oct - which is completely untrue as if you look on their website - clearly says it’s included. (No mention of Oct pre booking) just be honest if you make a mistake. As we were friends - we wanted to split the bill - I had card - friend had cash - we were told that we couldn’t pay this way ... had to be cash or card.... we were quite amazed as surely you can take payment on card and pay cash... in the end I just put it on my card. Place wasn’t busy - just us and one other table - so no excise for all of the above. Just a shame as we had really been looking forward to this lunch... luckily the company was lovely!!!

Well our party of eight arrived for a festive evening to an empty restaurant - not a good start. But we had our own entertainment so it did not matter. The Pre-ordered food arrived and all thoroughly enjoyed it. Everyone had prawn cocktails to start - plump little chaps nestled in a glass with the usual additions then a mix of festive turkey and sea bream again all excellent. The cooking was great but a shame nobody else seems to know about it.

Booked for lunch with friends as I had read some good reviews advising booking advisable.When we arrived at 12.30 the place was empty so not required! Only one member of staff in sight - a (presumably) teenage waitress who was arrogant and as unhelpful as possible.IDemanded to know what wee wanted to drink before we had even taken outr seats. With some difficulty I managed to persuade her to check with the chef if any vegan food available.I do not want to be told that dishes 'may have cream in them' if I ask for vegan.(It is mentioned in the publicity that the cafe is 'vegan- friendly'.She informed me that there was a pasta dish available which was vegan.I very much doubt this as pasta normally contains egg so opted for a 'large' portion of tomato soup.This transpired to be 2 ins of soup in the bottom of a small jar.I queried whether this was large portion and was adamantly assured that it was. (About half the size of a small portion in the 'Good Earth').The 3 omnivores with me were eaqually disatisfied with their meals e.g. 'toad in the hole' was a dried up portion of same served without any salad, veg or garnish.Waitress approached us at intervals to ask if we had finished yet when quite obviously we were still eating!Only thing I found satisfactory was the coffee and tea.Somewhat to my surprise by this time, soya milk was available.All in all not an experience to be repeated.Back to the 'Good Earth' next time we visit Wells!

Had very good burger and chips for lunch.One of my family had fish and chips which she enjoyed my son-in-law had aubergine and couscous also very good.Very quirky furnishings and quite unusual choices n the menu.My one criticism is food being served on boards, slate etc. one of my pet hates. Much prefer a plate.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening meal at Nostalgia. The restaurant has a relaxing, informal atmosphere with unobtrusive background music.The food was beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. The service was also excellent.

A first visit to this restaurant tucked away just off the high street and near the short stay car park. (Look out for the sign by the entrance to the side street.). Service was good, the food was good and we will certainly return on our next trip to Wells. Good menu, with plenty of choice. Poached eggs on toast with bacon (I deleted avocado slice and only had one slice of bacon), chicken skewers with satay sauce, scotch egg with chutney.

We had a table for four at this restaurant last week, and what a great find it was. The restaurant is very quirkily furnished - industrial or school type chairs, industrial tables, lots of unusual wall fittings and decor. We had two different starters, four different main courses and a couple of different desserts. Every dish was beautifully prepared and presented - the chef really can cook! Our hostess was very helpful and welcoming. The menu is very reasonably priced, as is the wine list. Portion sizes were very generousDon’t be put off by the view of the quirky interior from the outside. It does work well when you are inside and, in our view, the experience cannot be faulted. It was a fantastic find.

This cafe is just next to a public car park and away from the main street so limited passing trade. The staff were very attentive and knew what "customer service" really means! A lovely latte and bacon butties hit the spot. Not main in the cafe when we visited but it was a Monday so that could explain things. They deserve to succeed.

We came to Wells for the flower festival, the crown pub where we usually go was not serving food and all the nearby eateries were very busy so decided to head back home and find somewhere enroute but happened across Nosh when turning up a side street and went in. It was so lovely to find lots of things I would like without the obligatory chips or frozen veg. I had pork loin stuffed with pesto and my party had this all day breakfast. It was lovely and although we don’t often go to Wells we will definitely go there again

We enjoyed lunch in this unusual cafe in Wells. Not the place if you want a quick lunch but fine if you are at leisure. Asparagus and spinach soup and a sandwich (generous cheddar!) went down well as did the Lost and Grounded Pils. And we were always kept up to date on when lunch would arrive.

Sunday snack lunch, two other guests in establishment prior to our arrival. We ordered two lunch meals: Cheese omelette, and Bacon Sandwich. Bacon sandwich took 35 minutes to arrive at table and was presented verbally as ‘chip butty’ when it was actually a ‘bacon butty’ consisting of three undercooked pieces of bacon on dry bread. Thankfully I still had some now cold tea left otherwise impossible to eat. The omelette arrived five minutes later and consisted of a large amount of melted glue like cheese with some eggs that had not been beaten (white and yoke not mixed). In summary: disorganised confused team struggling to take and deliver orders, food lacked any finesse or quality. Cost £17 for two meals and drink.

Stopped off on a little tour around the area for brunch. The smoked trout and scrambled egg was very enjoyable.

Great food, friendly service & industrial vintage interior. Excellent presentation and combination of flavours, this talented chef knows what he’s doing and his experience shines through. Highly recommend this place.

This is well worth a visit, neat and quirky decor, very friendly staff, fine coffee and the bacon sandwich was not only the tastiest but amazing value! Walk a hundred metres further on and you’ll get far less and pay twice as much. A small, friendly business that deserves to do well.

We sat outside in the sun and enjoyed strong and creamy flat whites. Just how I like it. I had avocado, poached eggs and bacon on ciabatta toast. It was delicious and I will definitely eat there again.

Have eaten here twice since it opened and both times the food and service was incredible. Best fish & chips I’ve ever had! Great puddings and fantastic craft beers.. and all very reasonably priced. As the title says, it’s just what Wells has been needing, will be returning time and time again for sure.. Cannot wait to try the Roast! Cheers guys.

I pop in here quite frequently for take away coffees! They are cheaper that Nero and much tastier, I also much prefer supporting local family run businesses than massive faceless corporations and the people that run Nosh are always friendly and helpful! I am vegan so getting a decent vegan breakfast can be tricky but the chef at Nosh went out of his way to make sure I was well catered for (my meat eating friends also enjoyed their breakfasts too)!The decor is really quirky and gives a much needed breath of fresh air to Wells. There is always something cool or intriguing to look at (like the bed of nails turned into a table which I love). Little chilli and orange plants give the restaurant/cafe a relaxed feel, perfect for all occasions really... whether reading a book by yourself, getting work done, coffee with mates or a high quality meal with family or friends in the evening (as a bit of a coffee and beer snob I have been impressed by the drinks on offer).I would highly recommend this restaurant/cafe and am looking forward to their outside seating in the summer! 5 stars!

My family and I visited Nosh-stalgia one Sunday and it was really lovely :) Delicious roast beef with a generous helping of veg (including cauliflower cheese - my fav!). Some lovely pilsner lager too! Nothing like it in Wells, quirky and cosy. Will definitely be visiting again soon!Nice one Leigh and team!

Took Mum to Nosh for Mother's day at the end of March and what a treat! Food was gorgeous (Roasts for the parents and Mushroom Brioche for me) and serving staff were attentive and friendly. All just a stones throw from the main shopping street with plenty of parking nearby, you just can't go wrong :)

We visited Wells at the end of March and noticed Nosh-stalgia doing a busy lunchtime trade when we walked into the city. Looking for an independent and different venue for dinner on the Saturday night we booked a table and weren't disappointed. The staff were very friendly, the menu interesting and tempting without being either too long or "fussy", and with a good range of drinks to choose from. With a good view across to one of the City's attractive churches and the car park nearby the restaurant is in a very good location too. When we return we would definitely book for dinner again but expect tables will be in keen demand. We wish the team there every success because its clear they deserve it.

We visited on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. We shared a selection of flatbreads which were all delicious and very good value. They sell quirky craft beers and cider too. The coffee also was second to none. Loved the decor which had such a retro feel, we will definitely be back!
