Excellent food and cocktails, extensive menu, brilliant staff, fab atmosphere, nicely decorated! Chef is doing really good job ! We got a table with really nice view and had a great family get together. This is the place to go!

Had a great family lunch with our two kids. Food was excellent, like to be greeted with a touch of lemonade and the make your own ice cream sundae at the end was the highlight for my little ones. The adult pizzas were amazing too. Nice to have unlimited garlic mayo to dip as well. And the service we had from Matthew excellent, served us with a smile and most importantly was speedy and patient with our order. We’ll be back :)

Such a mid over priced restaurant would not bother coming back again all the food did not taste that good at all the cheese fondue was lacking flavour. Pasta was also lacking flavour and over all a disappointing experience and to top it off it is RIDICULOUSLY OVERPRICED

Had a lovely meal this lunchtime, the restaurant has a lovely vibe and nice views of the castle. Service was lovely, a tall young boy served us and was very attentive and even offered to take a photo of all of us. A table of 10 people and the food came nice and quickly and was lovely and the table was also cleared really quickly too. Honestly the only negative I could pick out was the toilets needed a new paint job. A very nice experience great food, great service and great atmosphere 👍👍

Firstly, the pizzas are out of this world. Sadly the vegan options are getting more limited- sometimes the only option is a bizarre one, with white base or fake meat for example, although thankfully, the current vegan option is perfect. Tomato base, roast vegetable, and green pesto. You can modify other pizzas, but I prefer to see a couple options on the menu. This isn’t the fault of the Well’s branch, this is across the board. One other thing is the drinks- they now sell 200ml cans. I don’t get it. I know they make a margin on drinks, but 200ml? That’s like 2 gulps. When I order a drink, I want to satisfy my thirst. If I’m driving, I won’t order the larger alcoholic drinks, so these small cans just don’t do it. And for the best part of four to five pounds, it’s a lot. Again, this is not the fault of Wells, and I’ve not factored this into my scoring- I’m just sharing my thoughts. Having said all that, again, the pizzas are incredible, and the Wells branch is in a great location, with hard working staff. Will visit again.

Update Christmas 2024: We didn't have a reservation and were walk ins. We were visiting with our 2.5 year old and it was really, really lovely. All the staff were very friendly. The place looked festive and cheerful and the service and food were exceptional. Will be coming again. Lovely pizza! Best we've had in a while.

Booked online last minute in the car after watching the carnival in Glastonbury on a Saturday night so I accept it was reasonably late to eat at 9.15 but felt rushed and so unwelcome we left rapidly after our meal , didn’t bother with desert. To start with as we had our starters taken off the table the main had arrived so already I realised we were in for a rushed service. Then halfway through two of us still eating the waiter ask if we would like dessert and if I would like a take away box, I politely explained I’m still eating. He then hovered around the table and came over a 2 nd and 3 rd time asking if we would like dessert and started clearing the plates on the table , this time my wife had to tell him that I was still eating , hovered again , ask if we wanted dessert and said the coffee machine was turned off , so no coffee. Then the music was turned down ( biggest hint that they want you gone ). After feeling unwelcome whilst he packed his bag to go home we ask for the bill , It was pointed out to me that there was no service charge on the bill , a tip is always given by myself if the service was good , this was far from a good service. We live locally to wells but will not be returning to Ask in the future . Came out of the restaurant after spending a significant amount of money feeling totally disappointed and annoyed, terrible customer service. Word of advice , please don’t take bookings if you don’t want the customers there a hour later , if you want to be closed up by 10 then don’t take a booking for a 3 course meal at 9.15 , close at 9.

Often, when I go to Italian restaurants I am left quite disappointed. This occasion was quite the contrast, Was greeted and taken to our table relatively quickly. The area was clean, the servers were saying about but very friendly and interactive. We ended up speaking to someone called "Ryan" (I think, sorry if I got it wrong) who was just the most charming person ever and a great representative of your company. The food was beautifully cooked with just the right amount of sauce, and the quality of the pasta was delicious. I would highly recommend the food, the atmosphere and especially the high quality customer service. If I didn't live so far away, I'd be coming back more frequently. Thankyou Ryan and the rest of the team.

Great service, tasty food, the chef outdid himself!

Came for dinner this evening, starters were burnt and cold, mains were ok, the chicken on the pizza was cheap chicken strips, and the pizza was lacking toppings (very low budget) Not what we were expecting as previously we have had reasonably good meals in ASK restaurants. The deserts were lovely, lots of flavour and great portion sizes. The staff, were very welcoming, helpful with allergies etc. good atmosphere and very clean, such a shame that the food quality has gone massively down hill.

Top service everytime we go always polite nothing is too much trouble

Good service and lovely waitress. Pasta was cold sadly and brownie came with strawberry bubblegum icecream, which was horrific. Mushroom al forno was great. We have had lots of goood meals there and today it wasn’t anywhere near the usual standard.

First time visiting Wells. Popped in on the off chance of a table. Not a problem! Very friendly staff, nice surroundings. Food was excellent and arrived quickly. The final bill was less than expected. Overall, thoroughly recommend it 🙂

Service here is great, staff knowledgeable about allergies, food varies - the Linguine con Frutti Di Mare in the photo was excellent, the breaded chicken in the Pollo Milanese was not good. And it's not worth the price in my opinion, although that's less of a reflection of Ask Italian, and more about food prices in the UK in general. Three stars seems too mean, I like going, but four stars feels too much.

Absolutely lovely branch of the chain right at the centre of the marketplace. The far windows get a wonderful view of the palace and moat, even the cathedral beyond. The staff was extremely friendly and prompt. We were welcomed with a nice juice and service was very fast despite how busy the restaurant was. For someone who has a lot of Italian, it was nice to see a little different menu. The portion sizes were really good and the food, including the dessert was great. The ambience of the place is lovely and makes you want to spend some time here.

Great across the board, very friendly staff and never had an issue with the food. Waiting times are also very reasonable and you're never left waiting for the next course.

Came out for my birthday, first one as Coeliac and could not fault the service and food. Was absolutely beautiful and the staff were amazing! One of our kids favourite places to eat as choices and prize is exceptional for children.
