First time visiting an ASK Italian. Great experience, fabulous food, decent price, friendly & efficient servers.

An Italian in England, a lot can go wrong. But here everything was great. The pizza, the drinks and the service are simply great. Can believe me. LG Didi from Germany

We enjoyed the food, especially desserts, but the service was quite inconsistent. We would've had a better experience overall if the staff were more attentive, as the food came out quickly but the staff took a while to take our orders/ give us the bill (even when we tried to get their attention).

When i went to wells i was there just to take in the history and location i never expected to end up eating by far the best pizza i have ever ate i was first in the store when opening started the food options for vegetarians was wide and some food had vegetarian versions (I did not eat any vegetarian food) when i went in the handed a little bit of pink Lemonaid in a shot glass that tasted great i sat next to the window were you can watch the water and palace

We felt very rushed this time at ASK whereas before we always enjoyed it.

Really wonderful food. The calamari and the lasagna were perfect. Gus was our server and he was very professional.

Friendly staff, great food and a relaxing atmosphere with a great view of the Bishops Palace

Very enjoyable meal and we felt very safe as this branch is spacious, airy and well managed. The menu was varied and there was plenty of choice. A real treat to be out for a relaxed lunch after months of lockdown.

We arrived without a booking, but Ryan found us a table nonetheless. The service was efficient and friendly. The food arrived promptly, piping hot and tasted lovely. Very happy with our visit, would happily return should we be in the area!

Enjoyed a family lunch out. Great atmosphere and very attentive waiter. Not rushed. Light and airy. Sat by window with a good view of moat and cathedral walls.

What a terrific experience my friends and I received this evening. They managed to find us a table. Very helpful indeed towards my food intolerances. Great food, served efficiently, looked lovely with a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. Thank you and Well done Matt. We will be returning thats for sure.

My favourite place for any occasion. Food is always outstanding. And the young team provide excellent service.

Peter our server was 10/10. Very polite. Very approachable. Food was delicious. My only downfall was that we were seated by the serving bay and it was incredibly noisy.

Our server Gus was wonderful and checked in on us throughout the meal. The restaurant has a lovely view and we really enjoyed the atmosphere, food and decoration.

I came in a few months ago and seen a member of staff I also seen that member of staff ( a grown man ) attack hit and pin down 2 teenage girls yet he still has a job despite video evidence absolutely disgusting won't be back

Mixed opinions. Don’t go on a Monday. They close up early to clean the kitchen and don’t advertise the fact online. Rant over. But I drove a long way on my bike to use my Tesco vouchers. However the staff were apologetic and lovely. They let me order a take out. Which I enjoyed in the drizzy outside. The Manzo Piccante was delicious.

Enjoyed a nice meal today, the service I had to say was spot on, apologies I didn’t catch the young chaps name who served us (very tall) however he was fast, polite and friendly, really refreshing in terms of quality customer service - well done!

Visited with family for a Saturday dinner out. Some good additions to the menu since we last visited. Pizzas have a lovely thin and crispy base!

I can't speak more highly about my first visit to the Wells ASK. The food was exceptional, including the vegan and gluten free pizza. The service was exceptional: friendly and accommodating. The ramp up into the restaurant was a bit too steep for my wife's powered chair, but was otherwise great from an accessible perspective. Fab!

I went with my family and grandchildren. We asked for an extra chair and was told we should have asked in advance the table had enough room to accommodate the chair. The food was good but the member of staff at front of house was very surly and abrupt!!

Great food, new spring menu, lovely staff, just a bit chilly, the air con was on and it was not the warm and evening.

It was as expected of the ASK chain.

Excellent meal again. Celebrated a friend's 21st birthday. The staff were friendly and looked after us especially Peter. Food was delicious.Would definitely come and visit again.

First visit to Wells and Ask Italian. Really loved the decor and view of Wells Cathedral amazing! Food was great and our server, Peter, was excellent. Made for a lovely evening with friends and would definitely recommend a visit.

I was catered to by a very lovely gentleman called Matthew, he was well presented, good mannered and overall he made our evening very pleasant!

Group of 25 visiting Wells cathedral to cover weekend services. Top class service from Peter and Dan - all starters and mains pre-ordered and arrived at table piping hot. Yes its very loud and almost impossible to hold a conversation without raising one's voice, not ideal for us singers!

Had run out of many items on menu both savoury and desserts. Service was ok but man covering our table needs serious training in manners and customer service

Peter and John our servers were fantastic. On a busy night they were able to find us a quieter area, as my daughter was becoming overwhelmed with the noise. Their attitude was both professional and friendly, thanking time to make her (and us) feel at ease. The food was lovely and the premises was very clean and well laid out.

Booked a table for 4 as had been gifted a voucher and wanted to use it. The service was nice and the place itself was clean and nicely decorated, nice vibe. Unfortunately the drinks prices are outrageous and the food was below average at best. After seeing the pricey menu we were expecting really great things but were so disappointed. The pizza was tasteless and toppings appeared rationed. The pasta dish was a really small portion and something that could have easily been done at home! We just couldn't belive the quality of the food given how it's priced on the menu! In our opinion it's overpriced and low quality, but each to their own. Would actually feel more satisfied eating at the weatherspoons down the road!

We have eaten at Ask , in the past and always enjoyed our meals. Today was Mothering Sunday, and we all enjoyed our meals.

Gus was an excellent server. Very attentive and helpful.

Visited with friends and couldn’t fault it. The service was amazing, we felt extremely well looked after with nothing too much trouble. Our waiter was so friendly offering us recommendations which didn’t disappoint. Food was as delicious as always! Can’t wait for our next visit.

While lunching at Ask Italian in Wells we had Gus as our waiter, he was super friendly and helpful and I couldn’t recommend coming here enough!

Restaurant was quiet when we arrived and able to get a table easily. Wonderful vegan menu. Well presented and flavoursome. Server was polite and friendly. Restaurant became extremely busy and there were only 3 servers. This did not affect the quality of the service at all. I was very impressed.

All I could taste in the food was tomato, worst place in Wells along Wetherspoons.

Food always pretty good for a national franchise. This branch is in a lovely location, the staff are very welcoming and there's never any rush to move you on. A good choice to eat amongst many other eateries in Wells.

Very surprised at how good this was, especially for a national chain. Absolutely the best Calamari I have ever had. The Carbonara was good too (not the classic with just eggs, it did have cream in, but not too much). Good service, and a stunning view of the Bishops Palace from our seat.

Used to love this restaurant but was so disappointed with our experience this evening. Waitress was very polite but other staff were rude. My husband was told off for vaping OUTSIDE. The music was turned off and bright lights turned on at 9pm. The staff then proceeded to loudly clear up making it very obvious that they wanted us to leave. When my husband queried this he was told they shut at 9, but if this is the case it makes no sense to take a booking for a table at 8.15. It was our work Christmas dinner and the atmosphere was awful. A consolation was that the food was good but we felt very unwelcome and the overall experience was disappointing.

Our group of four arrived 8.15 for our reservation. We started with drinks and ordered food, three courses off the menu. Then while finishing our mains the lighting was turned up to very bright and the music was turned off. On asking why we were abruptly told that they shut at 9 o’clock, the staff then proceeded to clean down the restaurant and our table in a noisy fashion. Ten minutes passed as we watched the clean up going on around us. We only received the puddings when we pointed out this fact that we had indeed ordered them. Quite a disappointing evening.

What a fantastic place to eat. The food is amazing!!!! We were actually being looked after by the manager who was so professional and helpful. He really personalised the experience for me and my partner. Also, it’s not everyday you see the manager working hard on the shop floor. This guy certainly deserves a promotion.

Really enjoyed my experience. It was my first time eating here, and it had great food and amazing customer service, they could not have done more for me. Will be back again. I will be recommending it to family and friends.

I really can’t rate this ask high enough. This isn’t even my local ask (not by a massive distance, but it’s well worth the extra half hour drive!) The service is second to none even during busy periods they really are person centred and care about your time there. I have taken the children several times and again- great service they made my children feel at home and involved them as much as possible. The waiters are wonderful and the manager (I think is a male) is really the icing on the cake everything is in top top shape when he’s in. He seems to do the job of them all very seamlessly and ALWAYS with a smile, a true face of ask and beacon of best practice. Hats off to you all- and merry Christmas we will definitely be back in the new year.

Wonderful lunch with family at Ask Italian in Wells. We have visited on many occasions and never been disappointed. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and the food is always lovely. It’s our favourite place to eat in Wells with our children. We are looking forward to our next visit!

Yesterday I visited the restaurant where I had a pasta dish that Jade cooked. It was honestly one of the nicest meals I've had in a long time and would definitely go back again. Great service and great atmosphere.

Great vegetarian options, our server Matt A was so brilliant, it really made our daughters 10th birthday special!

I went with my partner and my parents in law for Sunday dinner. Something different than the usual roast. The food was absolutely incredible , very tasty. The service was fantastic and very helpful. Thank you to Aga for helping us decision making with our food choice. 100% recommend!!!
