Stopped for a what turned out to be a very dissapointing visit. Didnt bother staying for a feed as the service was below average and the drinks too expensive for what we got.

Deserves to be much busier than it is. Cracking, basic back street boozer with a very impressive beer selection, lovely scratchy vinyl sounds and friendly service.

I didn't stay here but popped in for a drink. Friendly, affable staff and nice locals who were quite helpful with restaurant recommendations. Accepted my American credit card without issues.

Narrow 18th C property on the main shopping street that has been a coffee shop and pub for centuries. Now run as a bar. Has rooms and outside tables. Real log fire in Winter. A choice of two ciders on tap, and many more bottled. Maybe not the best place in the evening for 'romantic couples - said to be very lively in the evenings; but being a 'bar' and not a pub then presumably is geared to the youngsters. Some of the sweary noisy young males we saw in the afternoon can be off-putting. Two large TVs were thankfully not on when we were there. No food but the host does not mind you bringing a take-away in. The host is great to chat to. A real find - strongly recommend.

This is a really nice pub which sells a good range of beers and ciders. The Thatcher’s was great and the spring rolls I ordered were delicious. The landlord was very friendly and I enjoyed my visit. It is a shame that Shepton Mallet high street is completely dead. Nearly all the shops were closed although this may just be a Monday thing but the Swan would have been even better if it had been a bit busier.

We only popped in for drinks but were made to feel so welcome we went back the next night. Only one ale on draft but well kept. Worth a visit and the menu looked good.

This town-centre pub is a real working-man's establishment. Ian the Landlord is very hospitable and makes you feel at home. He operates a good social-distancing method and food, when it becomes available again, is excellent, solid fuel. Beer's good too!

Came here as the only place open on a Sunday evening in Shepton. The pub itself is simply decorated and could be more characterful, but the food was cheap simple pub grub, fresh, well cooked and presented. The host was friendly but not intrusive.

I like going here for coffee, and I like sitting opposite the cathedral for lunch, but the lunch selection some days is very poor. Food is mediocre.

The Swan has a genial host and very fine beers. They also stock Stone's traditional cider. Food is simple 'pub grub' but well cooked with generous portions.

This is a privately owned traditional premises for eating and drinking in the centre of Shepton Mallet. They serve really good beer kept by somebody who knows what he is doing.Food is pub grub but tasty and wholesome. There is a good, young crowd in the evening, a few regulars and visitors in the daytime.

This is my second visit to Wells and we came back to this specific restaurant to have our lunch. We had such a lovely time and food in this restaurant 2 years ago that we insisted coming back here this time. Despite you could find Ask Italian in many cities in uk, this branch somehow makes the best frilly pasta in all the branches I tried. The atmosphere is as usual lovely and every single pastas we had in our group of 8 was delicious. The staffs was lovely and welcoming except at the end, we were not impressed to have asked by one of the waiter (red hair) to pass the plates to him from one end to the other end. It wasn’t there was limited room for him gain access. The empty plate was with iron dish and it was quite heavy. I wasn’t impressed with that service and I tend to help to pass the plates to waiters but never been specifically requested by any waitering staffs in any restaurant before unless it was too difficult for them to gain access. Despite this experience, we were very pleased with the food and overall experience. We will still come back for sure.
