Such a beautiful place with a unique and warm atmosphere, coffee was absolutely beautiful and the service was incredible!

Really funky place, great vibe and music and staff were really friendly. I had the most amazing basque cheesecake and a decent flat white. Would definitely return to try the brunch menu 😊

A little disappointed. My hot cappuccino was served in a plastic cup and the orange juice was from concentrate. For the price I paid, I would expect better quality. Staff was friendly however.

Went with friends on an exceptionally stormy Sunday. Loaf was pretty busy, which meant our food was delayed coming out to us. We were chill with it as we had our drinks, but the staff were super attentive & made sure to check in with us & let us know what was going on. The French toast was SO. Damn. Good. Massive massive kudos to the epic friendly staff - you guys were the icing on the cake (which was also epic!) Massive appreciation for the rather cool toilet seats too! 😂

Loaf is a lovely, colourful and safe space. The two young ladies at the till were very friendly and lovely, unfortunately I didn’t catch their names. The portion sizes were great and I would definitely recommend and come back! I got a brownie and a slice of vanilla and berry compote cake which were both delicious, and my partner got a coffee which was also nice.

Fabulous food, couldn't be beaten. What is not to like about breakfast 🥞 for lunch. Tea was pretty damned good too. Only issue, wish the portion had been a little smaller so I had room for a slice of cake afterwards. I had the American pancakes with fruit compote, poached pear with the addition of bacon (bacon makes everything better) and it was 10/10, would recommend to a friend, need it again in my life good. Update, still fabulous. Cinnamon french toast with greek yoghurt and compote. 5🌟 would recommend to everyone

Characterfull cafe in Wells. Nice brunch menu with a good variety of food. Coffees were spot on. Partner and I had a brunch burger which was delicious. The ingredients were evidently fresh with lots of nice flavours.

Food was okay, the ingredients were good, but the food was really overpriced and I was still hungry after spending £14 on a breakfast burrito. A cup of tea was served in a plastic goblet. We found a hair wrapped up with our cutlery and the staff member saw it, laughed, then walked away.

I always try to pop to Loaf when I'm in Wells as the food and coffee is so good. Situated in a courtyard away from the busy high street, its a chilled, tranquil haven. Great service with brunch options to die for (inc full English breakfast, brunch burger, cinnamon toast and my fav, American pancakes - see pic).

An 'off the wall' out of the ordinary cafe with a nice offering and friendly staff.

Out with friends who had eaten here last year, perhaps it’s changed hands. Not particularly impressed with 2 x breakfast, over priced for what it was, one person had burger without the trimmings but was still charged full price. Poached eggs on toast ok. Need to put some pound signs on the menu.

If you used to like good food and coffee... but now you have a 2 year old, this is the place for you! We had a full English, with some extra sides, & French toast. Portions were great for 2.5 people. Food was delicious, great coffee, and the toddler was entertained by the little play house. She had a meltdown when mummy went to the toilet and the staff offered me some chocolate brownie to cheer her up! Felt so warm and welcoming. It did get really busy, especially for a Monday morning so go early.

Relaxing, cute interior. Outdoor seating and dog friendly. Pleasant staff. I had the fish stew and a smoothie. Both were delightful.

We didnt eat, just had a drink. Was nice and relaxed, 2 year old enjoyed the play area.

Nice place for tea and cake. Nice ambience and decoration. The small play area for kids is well used and our baby enjoyed having a go (though as she’s only 11 months old it was a bit challenging with older kids running around!) Has a nappy changing area and high chairs which is useful.

He had a works birthday celebration at loaf last night and it was such a great night, all the staff were fabulous the food was amazing . The whole evening was fantastic I would definitely recommend loaf for tour next function 👌

Lots of nice outdoor seating. Great coffee, and a fun menu. Good for lunch/ brunch. A little expensive but possibly for the atmosphere. They have a great little store inside too.

Great location, nice atmosphere, delicious food and drink, what more could you want? Loaf is a great place for all gatherings or just a simple coffee and a chat, ask them about their gym next door, Pumphouse gym!

A good option for Wells. Would have preferred a slice of sourdough rather than a thin cut of ciabatta on the breakfast. Coffee is also not suited to milk based drinks - too weak.

Came here for coffee after visiting for a baby shower a few days before. The staff are nice but the cafe was quite busy! We found a place to sit and had a lovely oat Cappuccino.

I had the brunch burger which was delicious and very well presented and cooked. The prices are a bit high and the menu is fairly limited. Good for an occasional treat

Nice 'quirky' atmosphere and very pleasant staff. Made me think of, "politically correct wealthy glastonians" (rightly or wrongly). Went as part of a group and ordered a buffet. Quality food but at £18 per head, we expected more.

There is such a great find. We went with my niece who loved the play house. Such a lovely family vibe. The cakes are exceptional especially the malt and stout cake. Also enjoyed the excellent bacon roll and sweet potato hash. Really yummy.

This is my go-to every time I visit Wells (4-6 times a year). I'm usually around for about a week each time and will be in there at least every other day; it's that good. The staff are friendly, the food is great and the vibe is cosy. They also have free wifi. In the summer they fire up the outdoor pizza oven on Friday and Saturday evenings. The last couple of times I went, its been really good fun. Finally - the cinnamon buns. Probably the best I've had anywhere. If they're on, get one.

Ultra friendly service. Vietnamese coffee wasn't quite how I had it in Vietnam. Have the brisket eggs.

Not one to give a bad review, but overall I wasn't too satisfied with this place. Our table wasn't cleaned before we sat down and our plates/empty cups weren't cleared for about half an hour. The cups for water were filthy and staff didn't clean it after we requested. Some staff did not seem particularly fussed but instead were more focused on their phones at the bar. The food was OK (although, I must say the banana and peanut bread was phenomenal) - the sweet potato hash is more like a plate of chickpeas and the sausage sarnie wasn't anything special. The entire placed seemed dirty which was a shame as it is so beautifully decorated... it has potential to be nice but unfortunately was a bit disappointing

Nice little cafe tucked away in Wells. Had a nice coffee and chai latte. Carrot cake was tasty and the sausage roll excellent (mostly sausage and only a little roll). It's got outside seating as well as inside where there is a small child's play area. Seemed well supported by locals. Would use again.

Only stopped for tea and cake in the afternoon. Lovely (expensive) cake. Children's soft drinks over priced too. The ambiance and cafe itself very lovely, clean toilets Staff could be a bit more friendly and helpful.

First visit as we normally go elsewhere in Wells. Nice setting, staff were friendly . Good range of gluten free food available and oat or almond milk. Not the cheapest of places these days for a family to visit, I understand costs are up but nearly £3 for a regular apple juice carton for a child when other cafes in Wells charge £1.50 is a bit steep. Not even chilled. Coke can at £3 again a bit on the high side but at least that was chilled. Cake at £4.80 makes it too pricey for a return as a tea and cake stop which is a shame. Spent just under £20 on 2 cups of tea, 1 apple juice carton a can of coke and two cakes. The main food menu looked good value and fairly priced with pizzas and gluten bases around £12 or so. The quality of food other dinners were eating during our visit looked very good and appealing and fairly priced.. Shame the kids food and drink is so expensive as it is overpriced for a tea and cake stop. Outdoor seating available and plenty of room inside. Worth a visit as everyone has their own budgets but this one is out of ours.

Great coffee, delicious cinnamon bun and frangipane slice. We didn't try the lunch menu, but if we ever visit Wells in the future we would definitley go to Loaf again. My only moan would be the cafe felt slightly cramped. Overall execellent cafe and I would highly recommend.

Popped in for a cuppa and couldn't resist the huge Chocolate and Guinness Cake. It was so nice 🤤. Friendly service, reasonably priced. If we lived closer I'd go again just for the cake! 😅

This place has such a lovely vibe. Even if you aren't stopping for food, definitely pop in for a takeaway coffee and browse their cute little shop. I ordered the sweet potato hash for brunch, and whilst the flavpirs were all 💯, the portion size just didn't cut it 👎 £11.50 for a hash that left me hungry when the full English was £2 more 🙃 I didn't voice concerns on the day (was out with friends and didn't want to be THAT person), but when I tagged Loaf on a story they instantly responded wanting to rectify the issue. Good service means a lot, so I would definitely still recommend going. A fabulous place for breakfast in a cool and trendy setting. The cinnamon bun was divine and the breakfast plates looked great and were really tasty. We left very happy.

Not your usual full english breakfast, they have put their own twist on it, delicious. Washed down with a couple if chai coffees. Very dog friendly

What a find. Fantastic coffee and amazing chocolate cookies, the brownies were ok too. Set up to be family friendly, babies and toddlers appeared very welcome. Would definitely be a regular if I lived in the vicinity.

Great place for cycling groups. We were really well looked after having just cycled 35 miles. Fantastic cake selection and lovely Lattes, Flat whites and Pots of tea! Blimey we ate loads! Ideal for getting back across the Mendips. The bikes are very safe as you can keep an eye on them while you are sat down. Really friendly staff and we were made to feel very welcome. Thank you so much for having us!

I'd definitiely put this place right up there as maybe even the best Cafe in wells. A legitimate hidden gem. The Mrs and I come here once every couple of weeks. Food is very high quality always and even our Dog likes the calmish atmosphere! The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming and they make a knockout coffee! We only wish that they would serve hot food for longer hours!

Pleasant place to visit especially with kids due to play corner. Visited here for a few evening parties which have been great fun. Cafe food serves tend to be a bit small in my view.

We stopped by Loaf looking for lunch and found it had somewhat limited options here - the breakfast and cakes selection was excellent and our coffees (decaf lattes) were top-notch. Super cute space and great outdoor seating; especially loved the bike art on the inside wall :) Cheers!

We looked for an independent place to have coffee in Wells and whilst the coffee was ok I won't be rushing back. We arrived 45 before closing and all the cakes were packed away and drinks could only be served as takeaways. We were welcome to sit at the tables but staff gave the clear impression we were an inconvenience. Not what I would expect from an independent in Wells.

The taste is amazing not like anything l have ever had before, not just a English Breakfast, l was hoping to try the Pancake stack but sadly run out but l hit the jack pot with the Bacon Sarnies and Full English Breakfast
