The best restaurants serving Default food in Tandridge South East

Great service, great Sunday Roast and staff really friendly and attentive. The bar had a fab variety of real ales and wines. Dining area was spacious I noticed the black board had details of upcoming events such as Sea Shanty evenings. Car park too which was really handy for our small children and walking distance for my mum. Will be returning.

Really enjoyed the artichoke Pizza, good service and a nice buzz.

Easy to order, quick service, clean tables, plenty tables. It is not technological McDonald like others. Because other McDonald shops have kids play area, game play screens and more. If you want just eat McDonald meal it is okay. This is not for family really.

I quite often calm in here for breakfast as I’m on the M25 a lot. This morning I ordered via the app from my vehicle as I normally do (for the points), clicked “I’m here” as I walked into the building, nipped to the loo quickly on the way to McDonalds kiosk….. so a few minutes at best. I looked at the screen and my number wasn’t showing so I asked the woman at the counter if she could help me, instead I was met with a roll of the eyes then she pretty much THREW my order at me before walking off…!!!!!!!! I know it’s not exactly the Ritz, but there was no need for such rudeness. I didn’t get her name but see photo to identify her, she was wearing headgear. The food is always as good as you’d expect it to be from a McDonalds but this level of customer service is very poor.

Update 15.03.25 - having heard delivery problems were reolved I once again thought to try New Wonderful again (the food is good quality and at a reasonable proce, plus being a local business). Well it seems th edelivery problems are as bad as normal, ordered and waited over an hour but nothing. Phoned and very aggressive woman told me it was on it's way so again waited another 20 minutes and still nothing. Phoned again and just got shouted at then hung up on so again called back and again shouted at and hung up on. now been waiting nearly 2 hours so phoned to try and cancel my order (£40 worth) and this rudest of women was again shouting at me. Eventually some food turned up - with a compleimebtary small bottle of Diet Coke! Not good enough so once again will be looking for a enw Chinese delivery company which is a shame as do like the food - when it eventually turns up. They need to be realistic on delivery times and have some sense of customer service, not employ one of the rudest people I've ever spoken to on the phone 20th May 2024 - thought I'd give New Wonderful another chance but same delivery problems. Ordered over an hour ago and when phoned told it would still be another 45 minutes. Absolute joke of a delivery service, won't be giving them a chance again and advise if you're hungry to find somewhere else. Ridiculous delivery service now, was told be within the hour then phone after 80 minutes and told would be another hour so cancelled order. 5 minutes later knock on the door with my delivery , felt bad for the delivery driver so paid but won't be using again as this wasn't the first time I've waited over 90 minutes for a delivery

Big group booking on Friday before Xmas . Staff were really helpful with changing / amending booking and menu choices . Food was amazing ! Great choices on Xmas menu inc sublime arancini . Seabass , turkey & venison mains were fab . Venue is slightly out of the way but beautiful setting .

Amazing food! Lovely atmosphere, And dog friendly!! Cater for veggies too which is a great bonus! Love this little gem of a pub

We went for lunch today in this pub. It was a lovely atmosphere in the pub and the food was really beautiful, we had a panni, from the lights bites menu. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. Would highly recommend a visit.

Popped in for a cheeky takeaway as I hadn’t been there for a while nice polite young man taking the orders food was very good although I found the sweet and sour sauce a bit vinegary compared to other places but otherwise no complaints from me

Came here for lunch. Have to say the food we had was very good with pretty generous portions and very tasty. Service was friendly and good as well, would certainly come back. The only downside is that access can be a little tricky at the moment, with the local authority digging up several of the roads locally, at least one direction was blocked, ut was well worth the effort.

This was our first time back at the refurbished White Bear. We are a group of 3 senior couples, and were out to celebrate an 80th birthday. We were seated in the new extension which rather lacks the character of the old pub. Next time we'll ask to be seated in one of the smaller original nooks & crannies. We were greeted by very welcoming staff and had our drinks order taken immediately. We then ordered our meals which arrived in a reasonable time. My chicken supreme with butterbean stew was very tasty and beautifully cooked ... except for the potatoes. Firstly, I had not expected boiled potatoes with the dish. There was no mention of them on the menu. That's why I ordered a portion of skinny chips to go with the meal. I gave most of my potatoes to our friends. They all let me know that they were very hard, as indeed were the two pieces I kept for myself. I don't think boiled potatoes should be cooked al dente. Everything else, and everybody else's meals were excellent, including the salt & pepper calamari I had for dessert. The waitress and drinks waiter were very attentive and helpful, and were a credit to the restaurant. I would like to suggest that the menu should mention that the chicken supreme is served with a large portion of boiled potatoes, so that others do not order extra chips unnecessarily. The waiter very kindly did offer to take the chips away, but, having already discovered how hard the potatoes were I chose to keep the chips and donate the rest of my boiled potatoes.

I do love this pub/restaurant, but when it’s busy people line up in the middle of the pub to get served which can be very frustrating when all you want is drinks, so something should be done about this as I have walked out a few times for waiting so long. Also the food used to be brilliant with unusual mains like game etc but it has gone very boring and the food not as good as it used to be so a bit hit and miss now. Hopefully it will get back to how it was as have noticed that it’s not half as busy as it used to be so everyone must be feeling the same as me ! Come on The Haycutter get your act together !!!

I went into my local costa today, shockingly slow service despite being the only ones in the line and 2 workers free to help but didn’t. I asked for a millionaire shortbread and a hot chocolate and requested marshmallows and cream. However when I asked for these I was given a drink without them after already waiting over 10 minutes for my drink. This really disappointed me and I will not be returning any time soon. Hope this helps others.
