Costa Coffee in Tandridge

This is a really nice shop. It is used by young mums, local shoppers and people (like me) who like to meet and have a chat. Staff are great, sometimes have a queue but hey ho don't all coffee shops. Always get my Mocha spot on and the pastries are always fresh and delicious. Only one loo but v clean

Can’t rate the actual coffee or food as the shop was closed at 6.30pm on a Thursday despite the sign on the door saying it was open until 7pm which it also says on Google and says verified by business 2 weeks ago. Staff member in shop drew his hand across his neck to me! No sign to say staff shortages or any reason for early closure.

Lovely shop, I see a lot of regulars come here. All the staff are lovely and friendly, in particular Jackson and Sharm! They're a great team when they work together. Wifi strong also!

The servers in Costa are fantastic. So helpful and polite. Toastie was delicious as was my tiffin and chai latte.

Usually have a good experience here , but this time , had a nice short hair in my coffee - which was yuky ! The staff changed the drink amd jokes about it , but it left me feeling a little Squeemish !

It used to be so good but for the past year it has gone down hill. A lot of the time the upstairs is closed, apparently because they don't have the staff. They rarely have oat milk and today no frappe, because they don't want to get the kit out. And the get out now, we want to close vib felt keenly. My daughter said "I don't think they like their job" Please go back to being a good standard costa. 🙏

The next time I will be visiting Costa Coffee either in Caterham or Croydon, I will be thinking about saving up to buy a cup of coffee for myself in future!

I have the pleasure of visiting this Costa branch weekly as my daughter attends gymnastics! The manager is delightful and always smiling! I hadn't been in for a while and the fact he remembered my order, warmed my heart! It's the little things that make a big difference! Yes - the branch can be very busy at times. But, I love that they still treat each customer as individuals, despite the pressure they may be under! You all do a marvellous job! Many could learn from the customer service you deliver! I truly enjoy visiting for my hot drinks! THANK YOU :)

The staff are friendly and helpful. However they are now closing at 6:15pm even though the advertised time is 7pm. The reason they give is they close early to clean.

It’s 5 th January 2024 and I’ve finally persuaded the duty manager to open first floor seating. Initially, the young lady who served me was very nice when I asked if I could possibly sit upstairs - could they please allow customers upstairs as it was closed off: I explained that there was no seating downstairs. Although there appeared to be many staff, the duty manager said, “No, sorry, we don’t have enough staff.” Wgen I was given my tray a young staff member said he was new but I could see he wanted to help me find a seat. It was then whilst I was waiting at the bottom of the stairs that the duty manager decided to open up the first floor. I own a service business and was shocked at the initial customer service received. There were many families and older persons in the coffee shop who I’m sure would really appreciate having a seat upstairs. Please think of your customers!

Nice and clean with great friendly service

Extremely slow and rude staff, second time this week that I've left without a coffee cause the service has been so slow.

I'm loyal to Costa it's my go to coffee shop. My coffee was served in a takeaway cup as it was near to closing. Always has a good range of coffees, cakes and snacks. Far better than Nero or Starbucks in my opinion.

Sometimes the service is slow because it's a busy time of the year but the drinks are not hot enough by the time you sit down and drink them, you asked them to make them extra hot but think it doesn't sink in

I go to Costa around 2 or sometimes 3 times a week. I've given a score of 5 to all questions as everything about this Costa is a 👍 thumbs up. Very hard working, very pleasant always tidying around and cleaning up. The manager keeps things ticking over really well and I can't fault the staff there, it's excellent service.

Standard coffee but this store has had the same problem for years: wait times. Only come here if Nero is shut or all tables taken. You can get a coffee in Nero always waiting under 5 mins, despite all the staff here, you almost always wait 15m+. It always seems like chaos behind the counter. I reckon they could sort it out by implementing some new systems as this isn't a problem at any other costas that I've been to

Recently refurbished. Nice coffee and good range of snacks, both sweet and savoury. Very nice seasonal drinks e.g. gingerbread latte. Loyalty scheme gets free coffees and points collected can be doubled by taking a reusable cup. Such cups are sold here or at the Stacks Hardware shop further up Church Walk

Pleasant staff no longer upstairs seating don't get me started on cleanliness all costas I think should take a leaf out of McDonald's continuously cleaning I think alot of staff behind counter more needed for table area keeping tables cleared and cleaned and sweep floor

OMG - 1.This is not how Costa used to be no disrespect but the fact the person in charge is shouting at his staff while discussing working practices 2. The fact I visit many Costa Coffees up and down the country most not on my app , the Slap dash quality of the Medium Cappuccino was unbelievably unpleasant and unprofessionally made far below the Standards I have had in the past in Caterham Surrey - see photos 3. There is no diversity in Costa no woman and without prejudice all are male and Asian No locals No one recognisable and I am Asian blimey what’s going on 4. See photos before and after I complained even the improvement was poor - staff need proper training the manager needed people management and clients retainment training as the poor CRM will be effected

Used to be ok, coffee is awful and undrinkable. Manager was so rude when i took it back. Waste of money, won't be returning.

Costa is a great coffe shop. The staff work hard and give wonderful service. Coffe tastes great. Love the limited edition flavours of drinks. Love the rewards on the app.

Went there around 6:30 pm and found it closed, although the timings on website and the door said open till 7 pm. Get a grip guys and put the right time!!!!

It's OK. Central location. When I went there, unfortunately, they had an issue with the equipment, and the service was painfully slow

The best part of this Costa is the staff - come on the right day and get the right people, you'll be very happy with the service. Costa is a let down on its coffee despite the price the strength of coffee used is low. Occasionally I struggle to taste the coffee in the cappuccino. Ice is the most expensive ingredient as their frappes are a third ice but the cost is well towards £4-£5. It has recently had a revamp and it shows. The food is ok as well and I have often had a quick lunch with a... cappuccino (which I always regret.)

Always clean, and manager is very nice and friendly. I always see the manager working hard and making the place very clean and tidy

Came in here because it was the only coffee shop open at 4:30pm on a Saturday. That's about all the place has going for it

The manager needs help. He gets so stressed it’s palpable and the place has a weird slightly hostile atmosphere. A few months back he clearly had some training because he was okay but he’s reverted to type.

By far the best Costa Coffee shop I’ve ever been to! staff are really friendly, coffee was absolutely spot-on and the food is always fresh.

Just had coffee, which is always good at Costa. The baristas really take pride in the presentation. Gets really busy at lunch time.

I am very concerned that there was no allergy segregation, you have nut product mixed with non nut products and yes there is a sign stating that customers with allergen concerns could ask the staff but what if the customer can’t read? What if the customer is buying it for someone else?? And the product label doesn’t even say what allergens are in the products. This practice is not just a caterham thing but in fact a Costa thing.

Clean and has lots of toilets to use if your passing

I visit here fairly regularly with my elderly parents. Staff are very helpful and polite. There is plenty of room to move around for those with rolators and wheelchairs. Also has accessible toilets.

Has a nice spacious upstairs seating area and plenty of space downstairs, staff are polite and efficient, and they have all the normal Costa good selection

The upstairs seating area was closed which meant it was hard to get a table and also only one toilet downstairs which was inadequate. One chair at our table was wet due to water dripping from aircon. Long queue while staff dealt with an order for delivery. Poor.

Loads of seating normally but for some reason the upstairs was shut off during school holidays. Possibly short staffed and couldn't clear up so shut area off. Noticed a few tables where people were using but not drinking or actively eating. (young teens meeting up and work from shop on your laptop whilst nursing a drink). Good selection of food and drinks now selling marks and Spencer sandwiches etc.

Local muy limpio y el personal muy amable, a pesar de que muestro inglés es muy básico, el empleado tuvo la paciencia de servirnos todo lo que pedimos con la sonrisa en el rostro (aunque supongo que por dentro de estaba acordando de nosotros) Mucha variedad en bollería y cafés. Hemos desayunado casi todos los días aquí.

I went in here today and saw a friend on another table so popped over to say hi, in the meantime the man behind the till actually stole my phone off my table. He only gave it back when I threatened to find my iPhone with my iPad. Not a great experience…

Was busy in store but had 4 memebers of staff dealing with the queue as a team and it soon went down a d great serves as always. Always return here and always recieve a great service.

The tables were with cups and saucers/ trays. Table was dirty. My cakes was treated like pancakes (flipped on the plate) and I didn't enjoy my cappuccino

Got two hot chocolates with cream and flake, when we questioned the lady who served us that didn't seem right, she was abrupt and rude Think she may have been new as she didn't seem to know what buttons to press. She tried to get assistance from work colleague's, but staff to busy. Almost think she made up a price.

Don't know why it's become so chaotic in this branch, seems to change its closing times regularly and not advertise it, also if you go in later than 3 pm they will only give you a takeaway cup, apparently no staff to wash the crockery!!!. Maybe invest in a couple of industrial dishwashers. Also ,if you are going to give someone a takeaway cup knock off the vat.

Worst Costa I have been in. Got my order wrong several times, never have oat milk in stock and have sat there and been charged, waiting in the longest queues for 25 minutes before saying they don’t have oat milk in stock. Rude manager, inefficient staff and constantly long queues. Avoid this Costa at all costs.

I visited this costa today I’ve order flat black with hazelnut. I’ve received flat white even though she said “flat black” while giving me the drink I didn’t mind it because was in a rush but it was horrible, too foamy I couldn’t even taste the hazelnut. They had no reason to mix up my drink that much as they weren’t even busy. Really disappointed for the money I’ve paid.

Mediocre tea, croissant a bit stale, toasted cheese and ham very good. Toilets spotless and we'll equipped.

Not bad. Nice drinks. Very expensive though for what it's worth. Food is okay sometimes. I can't sit inside because too noisy so I don't visit here much anymore unless I sit outside. But the queues are often so long so I'd have to time it right.. I'll only go here for a drink if I can help it, but I don't think its the best coffee in the area. There is a toilet downstairs (disabled toilet). There is also an upstairs area but it's closed most the time. There are more toilets upstairs.

Not a bad Costa coffee. There’s a sizeable seating area upstairs and downstairs and a couple of outdoor tables. The app says they do table service here but I don’t think they do. Make sure you join the loyalty programme to collect points for free coffee later. It’s well situated coffee shop in the heart of caterham. There aren’t that many coffee places so it does well here.

I normally go to another coffee shop in Caterham, but as my friend was feeling a bit feint as we were passing, I agreed to go into costas for something to eat and a coffee. I had been once before some time ago and didn't like it then, but hey, perhaps better staff?NO , the young man there was so rude..' what do you want' attitude, not ' Hello, How may I help you' or 'Good afternoon, can I interest you in a particular coffee? ' etc etc..Will not go in again and will advise others not to..the table was dirty. Coffee, well, it was coffee as you would expect in this store..just basic sandwich, nothing special..it was ok..but miserable place

The management of the queue and the level of service was terrible. I haven't been in here for a while, and I'm not encouraged to return again soon

We've been to the Costa in Caterham (opposite the Waitrose) before but this morning I read the reviews. They almost put me off. But it was fine. No issues with customer service or the state of the cafe. If there were problems in the past, they've been resolved.

Ideally located in the centre of the valley, close to the railway station, bus stops and taxi rank. This is a very popular Costa and is often very busy but always clean and welcoming.

Been working in Caterham since November and just wanted to say singled handed the best customer service I’ve ever received thanks guys keep up the hard work!

Costa Coffee shops are all much the same. The espresso is usually consistently drinkable, standard snacks and on this occasion, unsmiling service. Droning on about track and trace whilst sitting outside the cafe doesn’t help the experience.

Lovely and clean but they didn't hear what I said due to the face mask, so didn't get the drink I wanted-however it was nice anyway

5* customer service and brilliant coffee, the Manager (Bernard) is the most generous and helpful man and has assisted me on many occasion. I highly recommend him and his team. How lucky are we to have the Caterham costa?

Coffee in Costa Coffee is great, but the Caterham coffee shop has always, ever since it first opened, been the slowest coffee shop I have ever been in, even when it's almost empty, as it was this Saturday morning, and I'm the only person being served. When two identical coffees are ordered for one customer at the same time, who makes one coffee, runs out of steamed milk, makes more steamed milk, then makes the second coffee? Caffè Nero has always been quicker and more efficient, but at least in Costa, during this pandemic, Costa still use china cups, not paper take-away cups.

No seating available, due to covid so only take away. Everything is lovely but a bit expensive. Cappuccino is very tasty.

Functional - love the branches in carshalton, sutton, reigate, banstead, epsom but this lot make you feel about as welcome as a fart in a lift - the bambino or Nero in caterham valley offer more
