A very friendly staff welcomes you to this family friendly pub. The menu is quite wide ranging & very reasonably priced. The food is hot and delicious & caters for vegans/ vegetarians as well. They also run quizzes & music nights.

My mum and I called in for lunch on Saturday lunchtime. The atmosphere felt chilled and there was a nice low hum of conversation around us. The staff were friendly and efficient, we felt. We had a good peruse of the menu, before choosing the daily specials. We did feel that some items were rather highly priced - soup and a roll was over £7, baked beans on toast was over £10!! Yet the main meal Specials were only £12.95 - which was reasonable. My mum really enjoyed her Quiche and salad and my Steak and Kidney Pie with mashed potato and vegetables was really tasty. Even a jug with the gravy in which was good.

Visited here today after a walk along the river, was very disappointed. I had a latte which was bitter and my partner a tea which was undrinkable and we both had a scone each,with jam and cream, no butter,which had obviously been frozen and then defrosted, they were hard and crumbly. The most disappointing part was that everything was served in cardboard trays and cups and there were no trays to carry the food out on. This meant that I had to take everything out in two trips, this was not a problem in itself but this all suggests to me that the staff are too lazy to do things properly and to use proper plates, cups and cutlery. So for two virtually inedible scones and two drinks we paid £12 which is daylight robbery and if the staff continue in an this way I can't be see them having a business for much longer especially as all the other cafes etc we saw were very busy.

Shame about the salted caramel sauce. A larger selection of deserts would be nice like sticky toffee pudding.

The staff were polite and very attentive and the food was tasty, delicious and ample, with plenty of choices and affordable options. A very good eating and drinking experience.

Went to hucks on Tuesday for my birthday dinner. Service was very good and the staff were very good with my partners allergy which was nice. However when our food came I was incredibly disappointed. Paid almost £30 for a meal that was a single rib that was mostly fat and a tiny portion. The fries were nice and the dish was well prepared but there was only 2/3 bites of meat and I was very disappointed. Having a look at other plates leaving the kitchen it’s incredibly overpriced for the food and would not recommend.

Best chippy about food is so nice allways go back.

Now closed and has been for a few months now

Sensational food, meat is melt in your mouth and flavours are insane. The curries, rice and poppadom pickles are so nice as is the keema naan. We ordered a korma and a vindaloo chicken curry and both the mild and the spicy were equally delicious and so flavoursome. We are regulars to this restaurant for a reason, can’t fault their food. Highly recommend as the best Indian in the area.

Went here and wasn't aware it had changed hands. Ordered 2 chip cobs with cheese and garlic mayo. Cobs were hard, chips were Luke warm at best and the garlic mayo was watery. Such a shame as the previous owner was spot on.
