We came here on Saturday for breakfast with Santa after they kindly donated spaces to the community. We had the most amazing time and the kids described the whole experience as magical! The staff were brilliant from start to finish and were very welcoming. The whole experience was fabulous, the magic show, the breakfast and meeting Santa! By far the best breakfast with Santa we’ve ever attended and will definitely return in the future! So huge thank you to the team for the brilliant service they provided and the generosity!!!

REVAMPED! Spacious, friendly and REAL COFFEE ( rare to find) good menu. Visited 22nd November still great coffee BUT I was refused a selection of breakfast items to suit my diet because it’s not allowed! Spent some time trying to get round this ( I had already ordered a vegetarian breakfast for my husband with SCRAMBLED egg. ) a little of time spent juggling with the till!! FINALLY they caught on that I had ordered a PROPER meal and they decided I could have the extras on a separate plate. My husbands meal arrived with FRIED eggs with raw yolks (not healthy). Sent back and finally got what we wanted. And I have a loyalty card! Friendly enough but staff are having to stick to silly rules risking upsetting customers. Oh, and they are not frying the mushrooms, that really annoys me! Not sure what they do with em but they’re not nice. They fry plenty of other stuff for breakfasts. A good start here but it’s slipping. Returned for lunch 11/10/24 Counter improvements working ok. BUT they’re diluting the coffee!! Big mistake. Cappuccino watery. It used to be so nice. But quiche nice but floury chunky chips need improving.

We travelled from Walsall to go for to my hubby's Aunty's 90th birthday - afternoon tea. team couldn't do enough for us all, plying us all with pots of tea, coffee and plenty of food. We were that engrossed we had to chuck ourselves out, before the place closed. It was lovely seeing the alpacas and donkeys just outside. Only complaint is where we were, it was cold. Could've done with heaters in there, especially with a lot of older people present. Still given it a 5, as it was set out beautifully, and they all worked really hard.

farm shop is clean and spacious with an excellent array of fresh, British farm produce such as meat, dairy, eggs and a variety of cakes, jams and sauces. Lovely to see the two donkeys again - believe one’s called Stanley. It’s be good if some pigs were there too like at the Screveton cafe haha. But yeah, watching the donkeys while you eat and drink at the cafe is great. Girls on till and on waitress duty are all friendly and have good customer service skills. Food is fresh and from British produce - bacon, cheese and caramelised onion panini with (plain) salad was excellent as was the bacon and tomato omelette. Perhaps some more caramelised onion on panini would’ve been good! Millionaires shortbread portion is big but not sickly so that’s a bonus. Bacon is nice and thick and not too fatty so don’t have to waste time cutting that off. Coffees are always hot and frothy!

My wife was bought an Afternoon Tea voucher for Christmas and we just tried to redeem it but was told by the lady on the phone it only has a 6 month "use by date" is now out of date by a couple of weeks. The "use by date" is printed in small print at the bottom of the receipt which for our eyes is hard to see and is dated 7th June. Thing is we had a voucher last year which we used after having it for 6 months and it was accepted but I guess getting a free £30 payment comes in handy for anyone. Needless to say we were disappointed by this because a bit of leeway could of been used but I'm afraid not in this occasion.

Well I haven't been for many years. Visited last week as in the area (,sort of). It's better than it was years ago and seems bit larger than what I remember. Cafe menu looked ok. Did buy bits but didn't really get me wanting to make special journey. Quite nice things in freezer dept. BUT items not priced individually. They are listed on piece of paper on door of freezer. By the time you found that, then looked for item you were interested in, well it was a step too far. There were some nice looking items in there so was a pity to have to do all this. If you are passing pay a visit is my advice. You never know....

Whilst the breakfast was nicely cooked, I feel that it was a little expensive for 1 rasher of bacon, 1 sausage, 1 slice of black pudding egg beans and half a tomato. Whilst I was waiting for my breakfast I had time to quietly observe all around me, there were 2 young girls behind the servery that were constantly touching their hair, one coughed into her hand and neither of them washed their hands in the entire time I was there. Ordered two vegetarian breakfasts and both were served with meat sausages. The owner came to ‘help’ and was polite to start with then, unfortunately decided to be rude. Would not recommend at all. Added after reply, a detailed list of vegetarian sausages means nothing when these were NOT what were served. We were both served meat sausages on our breakfasts. My husband - not a vegetarian tried a little of one and confirmed it was meat. They also looked and smelled like meat. There has clearly been a mix up. I would suggest that rather than being defensive both on here, and in person yesterday you look into why this happened. It’s distressing to be served meat when you have been a vegetarian for 31 years too. No offer of an apology or consideration that you and your staff may be wrong is absolutely no way to run a business.

We are local and regulars at Hardy's and after much thought, feel we must voice our disappointment at today's incident. We arrived for a quick coffee and a bit of lunch as usual. The cafe was very busy, but the coffee arrived quickly via the usual lovely, friendly staff. It was so busy they had run out of sausages (which was for our dog), but, no worries, she shared my bacon sandwich, which we both enjoyed very much. Suddenly, a middle aged woman, came up to us and said the dog should be on the floor, not on the plastic sofa. OK, fair enough. So I put my coat on the sofa, underneath my dog, but, no, this was not good enough, the dog had to be on the floor. Now, to a lot of people this is nothing to gripe about, it was just the manner in which it was done. I don't know who the woman was, she wasn't wearing any sort of "uniform", but her manner was very abrupt. Very disappointed, this is a lovely place.

We'd booked a table for breakfast on our way up the A1 since it was over of the only places that was open and dog friendly, but what a mistake. I'm not sure if there was something up on this particular morning, but the middle aged lady in the cafe didn't manage a smile the whole time, and barely looked us in the eye when we ordered. It made us feel very unwelcome. "What's the table number? I can't take your order without a table number" (we were one of two groups there and our table was literally next to her) We ordered the corner breakfast and without so much as an acknowledgement, any eye contact, or a fully formed question, she barked "fried egg?" at us. And then when we asked for my daughter's poached egg and avocado on toast to come without the egg and just with the avocado and tomato, she barked "I'll have to charge you the full amount, and we haven't got tomatoes anyway" Why is this? Just reduce it! It can't be that difficult! We also asked if they had yoghurt, and that was a firm no. Not "no, sorry we don't", like you would expect from anyone with any level of customer service training. How about inviting us to buy one in the farm shop and bring it in? There's no level of trying to please us or put us at ease at all. The avocado on toast arrived and was brown and grainy. So overripe, and like nothing we've seen before Freddie having ordered it at countless places, but the chef came out and patronising told us that this is what happens to avocadoes. We know this, but I wouldn't expect to be served it. It was replaced however. The young blonde girl was very friendly. The lady at the till at the shop displayed a similar distain when we bought something too. I sincerely hope this was a one off and everyone was just having a bad day. I can't think of another reason why staff at a charming independent establishment like this would act this way.

Visited here today after a walk along the river, was very disappointed. I had a latte which was bitter and my partner a tea which was undrinkable and we both had a scone each, with jam and cream, no butter, which had obviously been frozen and then defrosted, they were hard and crumbly. The most disappointing part was that everything was served in cardboard trays and cups and there were no trays to carry the food out on. This meant that I had to take everything out in two trips, this was not a problem in itself but this all suggests to me that the staff are too lazy to do things properly and to use proper plates, cups and cutlery. So for two virtually inedible scones and two drinks we paid £12 which is daylight robbery and if the staff continue in an this way I can't be see them having a business for much longer especially as all the other cafes etc we saw were very busy.
