The best restaurants serving Default food in Newark and Sherwood East Midlands

Not sure what’s going on with this place, been shut for nearly a year, no communication from the owners or updates about an opening date. Very sad.

Barman was very friendly , nice atmosphere 👌🏼

First time dining at the venue with the new owner, service was excellent the food was superb and good value fof money. There was also a good selection of beers.

Ross was the best bartender I’ve ever had, wish all bartenders were like him. He served the best drinks ever and he makes this bar

The Old Theatee Deli is always our go to when in Southwell. The only downside is that there is limited seating inside. The staff are always friendly and the food is of good quality, would recommend!

Had yet another great meal, my only complaint was the one meal was wrong but it was still delicious. Our first meal was a Sunday lunch which was back in October and yesterday was for a special occasion, which we all enjoyed. Thank you

I had a coffee and a scone . It is expensive and the scone was ok but nothing special ,it was crumbly . The staff were friendly . It isn’t very smart inside , not because it’s an old building but needs improvement .

We love coming here to meet friends, We divert from the the A1 when travelling from Essex anywhere north of Notts, As a coeliac family its my wife's happy place to be able to eat anything without worry. Yes its a little pricey but for us its the whole experience, Friendly staff, peaceful tranquil environment and a lovely view across the lake which makes it worth it. As times gone on we've been known to Hayley the owner as the Essex crowd and she always comes and says hello when she knows we're visiting. Yes it gets very busy and sometimes you have to wait but that is just a sign of its popularity and standards. Keep up the good work team All Mine Cakes By The Lake.

Absolutely gutted that this Wetherspoons closed it's doors. A really handy spot to have a break, a bite to eat and continue on around Newark. A sad, sad loss.

Charming and efficient with the best tea we have had from a garden centre. Delicious food well cooked. A lovely atmosphere and clearly at the heart of the local community with a mixture of locals and travellers enjoying this wonderful cafe. Very popular clean and happy

Close to the beautiful Southwell Minster and Shop , this lovely cafe/restaurant offers some lovely dishes. Staff are friendly and welcoming and overall a lovely place to relax 10/10

Went here for the first time tonight to try out the pizzas as I had heard great reports about them. What an excellent take away service and the pizzas are so fresh and tasty. Certainly recommend.

Perfectly adequate coffee and vegan sausage roll. Absolutely dire vegan sausage bap! This came without any margarine or mustard or sauce, and the "sausages" appeared to be just battered mashed potato with some tiny fragments of carrot and perhaps pea, with no apparent sign of either protein or flavour. It's some years since I've had a supposed meal that was quite so bland or pointless.
