Food is always outstanding and service very friendly and courteous. All you can eat menu is ample with many choices.Would highly recommend.

Great food but make sure you get all the starters you want because they don't let you go back too it with the mains, also soft drinks are from plastic bottles so was a bit flat and they are expensive drinks. They offer drinks alot because that's where they make their money so be wary of the prices before you order drinks. Food is very very good though and loved the duck after the starter.

Ordered our takeaway a couple of times now. Ordered over the phone, always very friendly taking orders. Have always been able to pick up within half an hour or so. Foods always warms and tasty. Have never had a problem. I would say the inside of the restaurant could do with some TLC if you were dining in.

Dirty filthy, service is poor being told they are busy yet the restaurant was empty !! obviously takeaway being prioritised, waiting for food with only half of what was ordered turning up, constantly asking for drinks and missing orders don’t bother…

Had all you can eat menu with my family. Food was lovely and plenty of it. Staff were very pleasant and friendly and service was very good. Will definitely be returning.

Absolutely dreadful, I've literally just left the place and will never return. Dirty unhygienic and very badly managed with regards to food safety. Must have been 20 people enter the kitchen and one chap was smoking. I will be reporting to the council. Discusting won't be returning.

Ordered whilst on holiday so wasn’t sure what to expect. Delivered to our holiday lodge and the food was marvellous! The person who delivered was lovely and curteous. Highly recommend

First trip here on Friday night. We had the all you can eat buffet. The food was nice and very plentiful. We always have way too many starters and are full before the main but this time we had to finish the main. As it was mint. The Singapore vermicelli was beaut, as was the honey roast pork. The salt and chilli deep fried baby sweetcorn was the best. Staff were great we will come again.

Got food delivered it came on time which i was quite happy about until i had opened my food. The salt and pepper chicken were covered in grease as well as the salt and pepper chips they both were barely seasoned. The chicken chow mein was dry and had no chicken in it. Overall the service was ok but the food was so appalling that i was unable to eat it and had to throw it away

There was plenty of food which was served quick but the restaurant was so so cold. I put my coat back on. There was also a very strong smell of Calor Gas? Which put me off my food . I have since spoke to friends who went last week and they said the same. I don't think we will be going back until weather is much warmer.

this used to be one of the best chinese restraunt and takeaways in Ollerton now i'd say has to be one of the worst now its has changed owners just wasted £20 on the worst meal i've had from here in 12 years yeung chow fried rice with tiniest bits of meat in possible i think i counted 4 peas in the whole tub spring rolls burned and overcooked and prawn crackers tasted like they was cooked last week as they had more damp than a flood damaged property so until it changes owner and they can cook better than these i wouldn't reccommend to anyone to go waste money and eat here

The sweet and sour chicken lovely. Pork noodles, not enough pork. Noodles were OK. Wouldn't have the sweet and sour vegetables again, not very nice. Chilli beef was soggy.

I don't like to leave bad reviews but this was laughable. I should mention that we have had takeaway from here and the food itself is fine but eating in is a different story. We came in to a drunken couple who were making toasts to the room, in a freezing cold restaurant (we both put our coats on) and ordered. Our mistake, we should have left but the owners are nice. Starter came quickly, then we were asked what we wanted for mains - we ordered it with our starter. 40 minutes later we were told they didn't have our main order, so we re ordered and it came quickly, minus the rice. We started eating the main regardless and then the rice came out as we finished the main. Left quickly after this! We should have said at the time, or simply not continued after the starter. A shame. The owners are nice but never again.

The waiter Kai Sui was splendid and extremely polite and helpful I believe that he should be paid double

Ordered takeaway at 5:30, no mention of wait times or it being busy. Rang back at 6:30 told it’s busy and as our order was large it would take some time. Told our order should be out in 30mins. At 8pm rang back as 2hrs 30mins for a delivery order is a joke. Told them we are not accepting the order or paying for it, 10 minutes later driver tried delivering the order to the wrong address, he rang me and I told him to take it back. We have eaten in the restaurant several times and have enjoyed it, but cannot recommend the delivery service.

Ordered a takeaway as I was celebrating my birthday with friends at home. That took 10mins as I was dealing with a trainee. Food arrived 50mins later. I paid and tipped the driver. Then discovered a meal was missing. Rang the restaurant and they said they would deliver it and knock if off the bill. Put everything into the oven until we had all the meals. 30mins later the driver came with the missing meal but no cash. He was told that we could have the meal or our money back, not both as was promised. Eventually got to eat our meal at 8.45 having put the order in ay 6.45. Birthday meal memorable for all the wrong reasons. Customer care zero points. Paddyfields, you need to do better.

Great value service could be improved

Slightly tired interior requiring a good spring clean. Buffet @£23.50 per cover. Ordered off a buffet menu like a Meze stylee. Order what you want as often as you like. ( This 'ordering & waiting for every dish' method does draw out the eating experience so leave at least 2-3 hours for a meal). Good portions, well cooked , fresh food. Staff- under a bit of pressure. Not performing at their best on a Saturday night.

I was Invited here as part of a 30 plus group of friends and family... Thought the service and hospitality was on point given the amount of covers that needed attention. The food we chose was served fresh and piping hot. The overall experience here was a very good one. Look forward to returning with others .

We are fussy Chinese take away critics and believe that the take aways these days are nothing like when we were growing up, where a meal included, fresh vegetables, proper non gloopy sauces, decent portions and fluffy rice. But we have to say, we have had 4 take aways from Paddy Fields in the last 6 months or so and each one has been spot on. Not ten out of ten but a good 8!! Nothing ever missed all tasty and decent portions. We would definitely recommend.

The place is dated, dead plants in the window along with very dusty decorations and lots of "stuff" around the bar could be off putting but luckily the "eat as much as you like" buffet is lovely and a good price at £23.50. The lady who works there is fab too x Definitely recommend you try this place

7.50 for delivery is absolutely ridiculous never ordering delivery again. When ever we go in the restaurant to eat the food is always ok but I think they don't have as high of standards for the food they send out unfortunately. We also had to wait for over a hour for the food that was quite disappointing.

Despite the bad reviews on here, we where recommended a meal out at Paddyfields. So we made a booking and was very happy we did. The staff where very friendly and the gentleman who served us was amazing. The portions where great, and the duck course is part of the price unless you have a second round. Far enough, there was more that enough food. We really enjoyed the whole meal, and couldn’t fault any of it. Just had enough room for a banana fritter and ice which I have a soft spot for and that was great too.

We decided to give this restaurant a try despite the two recent poor reviews and we are so glad we did! The staff were very welcoming and explained how the buffet menu worked. Starter platter was very tasty, as was the second starter duck and pancakes for which there was NOT an extra charge, unless you wanted extra portions, above the one per head. We had a selection of main courses, which were lovely. Throughout the meal the staff were very attentive and checked in to see if we would like to order any extra dishes. We live 40 minutes away but we will definitely come back.

AVOID This was our first visit and will be our last. No Lager or beer on draught its out of cans from the fridge at £3.50 a can!!! Mixed platter starter was ok after this the food was a disaster, bland no flavour and rubbish portions place was roasting hot, old stale rice on our table so hadn't been sanitised before we arrived properly. The buffet is massively massively over priced at £23.50 each plus if you want Duck its another £3.50 each extra.

I tried to explain that their poor service prevented us from being able to fully enjoy the meal and with us having 2 young children with us by 8.30pm after sitting down at 6pm it had gone well past an acceptable amount of time to enable us to complete our meal. He kept laughing and being extremely rude and patronising, talking over me. We offered to pay towards the bill but though due to us not being able to complete our meal it was unfair to ask us to pay full price. The owners son was extremely rude and clearly thought it was funny, slow timing us trying to resolve the issue, answering the phone, greeting people behind us etc. The poor lady waitress had being doing all she could to run round and serve everyone but on her own she was doing all she could and was very apologetic (she was very helpful and lovely). The owner lady was clearly very busy and disappeared into the kitchen once her son had arrived. There was another table in at the same time as us and they had the exact same problem. I completely understand some places can be busy resulting in a wait but the table was booked in advance and it appeared as if take aways were being prioritised. The food was inedible in some instances or fundamentals just completely missing e.g. rice. This was my birthday meal completely ruined. The owners son should be absolutely ashamed by the way he treated us, his mother’s business is clearly some sort of joke to him. Visited as we were staying the weekend nearby. The food was delicious and the staff really friendly; the decor is a bit dated but don't let that out you off!

Myself and my 4 colleagues have just had one of the best dining experiences ever. Absolutely great hosts and the food was outstanding by any man’s standards. I would recommend this place to anyone and will definitely be dining there again. Thanks to the staff at the paddy field for a great night of dining.

All you can eat food for a Friday nights, what more could you want. Staying in the area for the weekend and wanted a Chinese. Slightly sceptical given the reviews, but no idea why, loved it all! Ordered a range of starters between two, great choice came quickly, decent portions, even got a decent amount of duck, could have maybe done with some more pancakes between us. Before we had finished our starters the waiter came and asked what mains we wanted, we decided on 2 main dishes and 2 sides, all came out piping hot and delicious. We had then more main courses, think it’s great you can order as many as you like and they come out within 5 minutes tasting fresh and hot. The service was good, always checking back and attentive to if we wanted anymore. Even topped it off with a little ice cream. All over great experience and would recommend!

Came for the all you can eat with friends and was not disappointed. For £23 each the menu is extensive and everything is cooked to order. Dishes were tasty and surprisingly didn’t have that post Chinese thirst all night long. Would definitely return. We were staying at the Center Parcs nearby and this is perfect for a trip out.

I am local to the restaurant, and have visited many times. The food is amazing, fresh and well presented. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I cannot fault any part of the experience. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that loves Italian food, or wood love to try it. 5 stars all day long!!

Visited tonight for a belated family birthday. We had 'All you can eat Buffet'. Food was lovely, hot and well presented. Staff were very helpful, attentive and very pleasant and we ate quite a lot. Really enjoyed our visit here again

Came recommended but was below average on taste. Really bad portions of meat both in size and quality; the dishes are basically just vegetables, even the beansprouts outnumbered the noodles in the chow mein. The fried rice was brown and had pork in which suggests to me they’re not cleaning between each order so high risk of allergy issues. Stomach has been making noises all night and my partner feels ill. Definitely avoid!

If you like very over priced onion, this is the place for you! Even the meat options are vegetarian. Then you get stomach cramps, why wouldn’t you want to order from here?

Edit on 21/04/22 - Last couple of orders the curry sauce has been spot on. Now raised to 5* It would be 5 star, however the curry sauce was more like a pea flavoured soup and I had to resort to making my own packet curry sauce. Portions are large and the delivery of the food is always piping hot. I will keep ordering on the off chance they will make their curry sauce....a curry flavour sauce.

Went here a couple of weeks ago. Worst Chinese I've had from here, so hit and miss with quality. Lemon chicken so overcooked it was rock hard and the lemon sauce tasted so bitter it was like lemsip but stronger!

Sorry to say I carnt recommend this restaurant I had a terrible experience on Friday I had a takeaway from there I had beef chowmain after two mouth fulls I felt so I'll with in 90 seconds i was throwing up vilontly I knew it was that because I'd not had anything that day .I rang them first thing he said was call a ambulance I think that says it all his excuse for what happened to me was Friday and Saturday are very busy and the meet doesn't always get cooked properly plus he also said I was the 3rd call that evening about it no offer off a refund from them I ended up I'll for two days not happy one bit 😡😡😡🤬🤬🤬

Very disappointing food. Ordered on three seperate occasions hoping it was a one off bad experience however the food portions are tiny compared to other takeaways, the salt and pepper chips are clearly not fresh nor are they “salt and pepper” chips more like they’ve been left and reheated multiple times. Nothing tastes edible. Won’t be ordering again and would recommend to travel to somewhere else.

We've had 2 takeaways from Paddyfields & can't fault any of them. Staff are friendly, food came out in timely manner. Everything was piping hot when we got it home & tasted great. I would return & recommend

Lovely place, Good choice of Food with excellent service

I travel a lot with my work so I've experienced my fair share of Chinese restaurants over the years. The decor was slightly outdated but that just added to the charm, the food was out if this world and the next time I possibly can, I will be coming back! The staff were very friendly and the buffet was freshly made to order to it was piping hot and fresh. PS - Definitely go for the salt and pepper ribs.

Absolutely disgusting service. 4th time I've ordered n 4th time my order is wrong. Would only replace wrong item so by time it came the rest was cold. What a waste of time waiting and money. Choose another Chinese instead.

Tried 72 times in the space of 15 minutes to get through to order a collection but constantly engaged not sure if they forgot to hang up from previous call.

Last time we had a take away & something was missed off our order. So when I rang them they wanted to deliver 10 mins later & when I ask for my money back they put the phone down on me. So I left it that night as I was annoyed, we didn’t receive the item that was missed off that night. When I ring for a take away again I find out i am now blacklisted & they won’t take my order, when it was there mistake in the first place. I never even mentioned there mistake this time. I apparently can’t order from there now & again put the phone down on me. Your loss paddy fields I always enjoyed your Chinese but I’ll happily go to China Town now. Need to learn some professional manners on the phone to your customers.

Best Chinese takeaway in Ollerton. I tend to order a takeaway from here on a Monday night because that's when the food is at it's best. Whether it's because they have a different chef on a Monday night or just because they not that busy an got more time to prepare the food an not rush it, I don't know. But it always seems to be the takeaway is at it's best on a Monday evening. 😁

Just a bit of background. I used to live near clay cross, Chesterfield. I used to have takeaways from a chinese in clay cross from 2007 to 2012 When i told the owner i was moving to Edwinstowe, he told me his wife owned Paddyfields. So from 2012 i have mostly used Paddyfields for takeaway. I have never had any complaints about it. On the phone they are usually polite, delivery is swift, food is tasty and hot. However, tonight we ordered delivery and told it would be 30 to 60 minutes. Not a problem as we are in no rush. But 90 minutes later it still had not arrived so we rang up to find out when it would be delivered. The person who took the call was fine. But we asked how long would it be and we wanted to make sure the food wouldn't be cold. We could hear a woman in the background rudely saying 'do they want it or not'. We explained we did want it but we wanted to know how long it would be and if it would be hot. Eventually we were told it would be 15 minutes. Food arrived. Food hot and tasted excellent. But i would suggest improving communication with customers, especially those that have been supporting the business for many years.

We have been going to this place for years.. The food has always been brilliant and portions ample. But tonight was a big disappointment. The portions were small. The staff very slow serving. Food took a while even though the place was empty. But to top it off my daughter dropped by whilst we were there to give her brother a birthday card. We had finished eating but she pulled a chair up for a quick chat before heading back to her home after her work and had approx 3 chips off her dad's plate. The guy in the restaurant came over and said there would be a £10 charge for this. Horrified came to. Mind. By all means charge us if she ate loads of food but a few chips that were going to be thrown away.. Anyway this ruined the night for my sons birthday due to the attitude of the guy. Hence we won't be going there again even after all these years. Bearing in mind we always have a huge bill. The money wasn't charged to us in the end after i basically said Do what you have to put the money on my bill but we won't be returning.My family and I really enjoyed going here on most birthdays and family occasions but this is now ruined.

Eat as much as you like, keep ordering dishes. Not the cheapest but plenty of food and variety.

I've not used this restuarant for a number of years, but recently decided to try a takeaway meal for two. The thing that spoilt it was that anything cooked in batter (such as prawn balls) was very very greasy and I would think twice before ordering fried dishes again.

10 of us (8 adults 2 children) visited for a family meal as a birthday celebration and we were not disappointed! We ate from the all you can eat menu, plenty to choose from with generous portion sizes to suit the number of diners in our party. Very reasonably priced, as are the drinks too. Service was efficient and the 3 ladies who served us were all very friendly. Would definitely recommend and would definitely eat here again.

Im a regular at this restaurant but after Saturday night will be giving it a miss in future. Arrived at 5pm when the doors opened, 6.30pm we just had our starter, the salt and pepper ribs were ridiculously salty and inedible, both lots of ribs were gristle and fat and tasted awful we asked for additional satay and seaweed as portion sizes not great for a table of 5, half hour later had not received them, reminded the waitress again, the chickent that came out was dry and tough. Ordered second course, the lettuce came out and the sauce/onion and cucumber for the Duck (no spoon for the sauce) half hour later the meat joined it! Then the mains, by then we had lost the will to live, the prawn dishes contained 4 x prawns and we asked for mussels for two people, we got 3 x mussels?? work that one out, cut one in half? The food wasnt worth the wait it didnt taste nice. The restaurant wasnt busy and it appeared every table was having to wait. There didnt seem to be a manager around and waste of time complaining to the waitress as she didnt have great English. The whole experience took over three and a half hours, its a shame as usually the food is good and we were going back there this week for a family Birthday but after Saturday have decided to go elsewhere. Oh yes and the toilets are awful.
