Huck's in Newark and Sherwood

Food was awful, overpriced and rationed potions. I personally ordered the nachos and 75% of the chips lacked any cheese. Plus the parts that did have cheese, the cheese was cold and hard. My friend ordered the chicken fajitas and got four little slithers of chicken. We were charged £6 for two glasses of tap water, which we questioned and then got removed from the bill. The only nice item was the cauliflower bites.

Huck’s at Center Parcs Sherwood was the perfect place for a family meal! The American-themed menu had something for everyone, from juicy burgers to tasty ribs, and the kids loved the interactive play area while we waited for our food. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making sure we had a great experience. The portion sizes were generous, and everything was cooked to perfection. The relaxed, fun atmosphere made it an ideal spot for dining with family. We’ll definitely be coming back next time we’re at Center Parcs!

Overpriced, inattentive service, waiting staff running around like headless chickens, lots of movement but not a lot being done. Asked for some fruit skewers for my son, waited and waited until another waiter told us they didn't have any. Waited for our table to be cleared and it never happened. Waited for the bill and never came. It lets the whole of center parcs down. We come every year hoping for a better experience, it's always crap. They also have a ridiculous amount of flies in the restaurant that are constantly flying around your food. We were in a booth and counted 6 sat on the wooden panels. It was awful.

We received a warm and enthusiastic welcome. The waitress we had was great. Super-nice. But the food was so over-priced and the chicken we had to start with didn't taste like chicken. More like warmed up dog food. I'd be very disappointed, at a reasonable price, so I was hugely disappointed at that high end restaurant price point.

Great burger and lovely Garlic butter fries and nice big piece of Key Lime Pie. Really nice waitress with blonde hair and smiley. We will be back next year.

Food was mixed. My wife enjoyed her ribs. My burger was extremely dry but OK. Food was incredibly overpriced. Service was appalling. We saw our server twice. Once to order drinks, second to order food. We had to go to the front to get the bill - we almost just walked out. We weren't able to order desserts or additional drinks. Food took 45 minutes to arrive.

Spacious place, and nice play ground area for kids. The staff are friendly and service was good. Burgers were of low quality beef, the fajitas are better. The food was average for the price paid.

we came to hucks tonight for a meal, and we were sat quite near to a balloon (my biggest fear!). christian was an absolute angel. not only did he handle the situation professionally, he calmed my nerves and helped me feel like i wasn’t being a burden. i can’t tell you how grateful i am that he went above and beyond to ensure i felt comfortable. plus, he helped us transport our drinks (and a forgotten bag) to a new table! thank you christian, absolutely made our night!

If you’re familiar with American Staples like Ribs, Burnt Ends, Burgers, anything you’d expect a Pitmaster to have crafted then don’t select any of these choices. They don’t understand burnt ends, the ribs have membrane and over sauced and nothing has seen smoke. Pretty poor given the premium price they charge. I feel they think charging a premium for a poorly understood dish is something they can get away with and clearly do. An average dish for an average high street pub chain.

Not a bad place to eat starters where just abit over priced for the quality and flavour . But mains where good . Abit of salad on the burger and it would of been perfect

We had a good time at the restaurant, mainly because of Christian, who was really nice. I got the beef burger and went for double, which was really tasty. The chicken wings with Mango and habanero were so good! My wife liked her Mexican chicken and cheeseburger. But my son’s Chicken Nuggets weren’t great – not enough nuggets and not many beans. Still, we had a decent time overall

Good atmosphere and nice views over the lake. Food was good. Not amazing, but good. Prices were inflated (but we are a captive audience and this was to be expected) and the price of drinks was a little bit much... Pints were £7.50 which if you are a londener might be cheap but for the rest of us not so much. We went and brought two bottles from the parc market for less than the price of one pint here to have back in our lodge.

Actually pleasantly surprised - yes it’s expensive but it’s Center Parcs, what did you expect?! The food is decent, we had burgers and prawn fajitas and they were tasty and filling. Shout out to Lindsey K, she was such a great host, congrats for 20 years!

We had a great dinner here the food was all excellent. The staff were friendly. The play area was pretty good too. It entertained the kids for a good while.

Was looking forward to a meal out with the family as this restaurant was all we were able to book for our trip due to everywhere else being fully booked. As part of our starters we had the wings and potato skins. The wings had a long hair in them and the potato skins were served cold with a sour cream dip which had separated and was full of water. The salads that we ordered with the mains were so dry and the sweetcorn was shrivelled and brown. Burgers were too salty to eat. Really not worth £250.

Amazing food and service. Our server Matthew was brilliant. Apparently it was his first shift, and he was very professional. Thank you for outstanding service start to finish.

Great service from the team and they were lovely and really good with our toddler but we dined at 1645 with our toddler when it was a little quieter so cannot comment on busy times etc but food and drinks were quick. Food wasn’t to my personal liking however my husband enjoyed his ribs which he said were lovely. Would return to try the ribs or a burger, I had the steak and I personally didn’t like it chargrilled as i felt it ruined the taste and just tasted burnt.

Pleasant restaurant, dined there twice in the last couple of years. The food was OK, but everything was overpriced. For two people who only had mains and a couple of drinks it came to over £80. The manager was very attentive and accommodating, but we were left to wait some time after being seated.

Nice meal for a chain type restaurant.

Excellent service received when we visited on Friday night. We were designated a table next to the play area, but the lady asked if we would prefer a quieter table. Which we did. We were served by Grace who was very knowledgeable, polite and helpful regarding our order and service throughout. Thank you to Grace we had an excellent visit. Recommended to our daughter and son in law who visited you on Sunday night.

We visited Saturday before Christmas, restaurant was very quiet and almost empty, not what we have been used to on prior visits, Hucks is always a noisy busy place with a great atmosphere. Food was good, table of 10 served quickly and all food hot and tasty. Well worth a visit if you’re at Centreparcs for a stay.

The food was average overall with nothing that would make you want to come back but overall the food offering was better quality than the terrible offerings in many of the other centre park eateries. Do not expect to be wowed because you wont be! The food is something you’ll eat rather than want to finish. The service was very poor here having to tell the serving staff multiple times for the same thing and it still not arriving. They also messed up the order and didn’t even come and check until 20 mins later and then at the point it was irrelevant and pointless just like the waitress that served us. The is a decent kids play area in the restaurant which will keep kids entertained while adults can eat in peace.

Lovely service from Paige tonight, frequently checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed and was overall very lovely and made our last holiday night meal very enjoyable and lovely. Thank you :)

Beautifully cooked steak and amazing fries and salad

I ordered a steak and buffalo wings for my starter. The steak was too chewy to swallow. The wings were the best thing we ordered. My children sent their chicken burgers back due to being too dry & overcooked. Shame because the place is lovely.

Centreparcs so you know it's expensive without me telling you. The food was as expected, nothing fancy. The guy front of house was great with the kids but the service could have snappier.

Really enjoyed our meal.. Everyone hapot and our baby for free Ella's kitchen pick which was a nice touch 👌

Well priced given location and comparable restaurants in the region. Excellent service, delicious food and good quality wine. We returned for a second visit after this. The food was again quite nice, especially the swordfish steak. The California Chardonnay was not very nice. I definitely recommend the Australian Chardonnay instead.

Absolutely wonderful meal ,such a welcome surprise after last nites disaster at bella italia... they couldnt be further apart in quality , friendliness and the service charge is clearly displayed on the menu...unlike bella italia.....thanks guys....really lovely aptmosphere too

What a place to go, really nice ambience of the place paired with a great selection of food and drinks at decent prices, decided to go for the steak and gotta say was very impressed, wanted the key lime pie and was told unfortunately was unavailable but luckily our server checked and realised it was actually available again so massive thanks to Caitlin! Definitly reccomend going while on your stay

The experience at this restaurant was bad from the get go, we were welcomed in and seated at our table and brought our first round of drinks and asked what we’d like to eat, we were then brought our starters shortly after, this however is when it started to go downhill. After we’d had our starters we were left to sit and wait for the best part of an entire hour with nobody coming over to apologise or let us know what was happening, only after waiting for 45 minutes did the waitress come over and say it wouldn’t be much longer and would only be another ten minutes.. however ten minutes went by and she then came over a second time to say it would be ANOTHER ten minutes, by this point we were all annoyed wondering how long it would be. Ten mins later the food did arrive and most people’s meals were fine (there were six of us) but two people ordered the half chicken and neither of them were cooked properly with one of them having blood coming out of the middle, we understand that chicken can still be pink sometimes and that bones can cause a pink colour to appear on the meat but this was definitely blood and was not cooked properly, presumably because the chefs knew that we’d been waiting far too long and rushed it out to us, we did take it to the waitress who took it away and got a manager to come and speak to us and he did apologise and have my boyfriend a fresh plate of food which was appreciated, he also knocked the price of that meal off the bill which was also very much appreciated but this has unfortunately made us not want to return. It was a mixture of poor customer service and leaving us to wait and wait for a good hour before asking us if we needed anything or to apologise for the wait coupled with the undercooked food. We understand that restaurants can be busy and hectic but at least come over to check on your customers instead of just leaving them.

Went as a family of 5. 4 adults and one 2yr old. Service bit slow. Everyone enjoyed their food. Expensive £125 and a surcharge is added though I was told after you can ask for it to be removed. Two of the party had soft drinks and only knew it was a bottomless drink when saw it on the bill. Was not told by staff. Overall a nice place yo eat.

Pre booked a table for 2 - the restaurant looked amazing overlooking the lake. Ordered bbq chicken wings, Huck’s burger, Cajun chicken burger with extra patty, 1 chocolate sundae for dessert, bottomless soft drinks. Chicken wings were amazing, burgers very tasty, highly recommend this place - cost £60 So good we pre-booked again for our last night. Ordered 2 freak shakes, 2 large bbq wings with onion rings ……. amazing. Great finish to our holiday £52

It's not a bad restaurant, but it's a bit overpriced like everything else in centre parcs ! The food was OK but certainly not great . Ps the garlic butter chips were amazing 👏

Asked to be seated away from play area and was put next to it, if it's not an option, please don't offer it, food was burnt and ice cream machine didn't seem to keep the ice-cream cold enough as it was melting as it left the machine.

Group of 8 adults with no kids, sat next to the kids play bit... Screaming everywhere. Had a migraine by the end of dinner. Service was diabolical and it wasn't even busy! Had the steak which was nice, garlic fries were soggy and horrid. Cocktails were shockingly bad. Over priced and wouldn't go again.

Suprisingly good food ! Good variety of food with plenty of gluten free and vegan option.Generous portions, everything tasted great and service was exceptional. We were seated promptly even theough we had not reserved. Prices very reasonable too.

Sat at a table overlooking the lake in the late evening was a beatiful setting. Quite noisy as you would expect for a family restaurant, which I didn't mind. But upon looking at the lacklustre menu, I could not believe what I was seeing. £8.95 for a childs meal which on the face of it isnt too bad, however when it is a self serve buffet and consists of cold plates luke warm baked beans, chicken nuggets and cold chips I think it's taking it a bit too far, when you can get a far more substantial childs meal at frankie and Bennys for half that price and the quality of the Food at frankies' is miles ahead. The food at this place is way overpriced and is very poor quality. £16.80 for a burger and a few fries. The cost of this burger is more than you would pay for a burger at The Ivy in Covent garden and that restaurant features in the michelin guide. Hucks are charging top quality restaurant prices, for less than mediocre fastfood quality meals! I've eaten here loads of times, because when you're at centre Parcs you're on holiday and we enjoy eating out as a family treat, but I can honestly say I've never had a decent meal there within the last 3 years. The standard has dropped substantially and prices increased to an almost eye watering height. I don't mind paying money for decent, good quality well cooked food but I do mind spending almost £200 for a family of 7 when the equivalent would've cost £20 at burger king. CENTRE PARCS please sort this out!

Arrived to dine @ 9pm for a table of 6, We ordered Starters which arrived promptly tasted nice, wings were great. We waited about 45 Minutes for our mains, dispite several will be 5 mins every 15 minutes. Food eventually arrived, ultimate cheeseburger was an extreme disaster the bacon was overcooked reheated brittle and as tough as it gets. After waiting so long for the food to arrive I contemplated sending it back but I was beyond hungry. Deserts arrived nowt special avoid the peanut butter stack. Very disappointed

Didn't expect much with an onsight restaurant. Was pleasantly surprised, we were a big table (20+) and he had good service. I had an onion burger it was great.

Nice for a family meal if you have kids, very loud inside because of all the big groups and kids about inside, feels like a mess hall. Beside that has very good food

Where do I start???? We arrived early to our reservation. We were informed our waiter was Matthew J. We were seated opposite the toilets and next to the door… we were freezing and everyone who entered the restaurant walked past us… We waited 15 to 20 minutes for our waiter to come take our order. He came over with an attitude, as if it was too much for him to take our order (there was 2 couples). He took our drinks order, neglecting to take out starter order to speed up the process of our stay. We waited some time for drink to arrive and when they did, it was a different waiter. We then waited some time for our waiter to come take our order. Whilst taking our order he added extras onto our dish’s without informing us of the xtra charge. £3 for a small bowl of chilli…. When asking us if we wanted beef or bean chilli, Matthew became very sassy with our group saying ‘I’m not eating the food, you are. Don’t look at me’. As you can imagine we were took back by his behaviour. Our starter came pretty quick. However we were told the starter we ordered would be big enough for the four of us. It was big enough to share between 2 people. If we’d have been informed correctly we would have ordered two. Our mains arrived some time later. To say HUCKS is meant to be an American diner, the portion sizes weren’t very American portion sizes. If we had known we’d have had something to eat a few hours before our reservation. When it came to paying at the end, Matthews entire persona became polar opposite to how he was with us. He informed us about the 7.5% service charge (as a tip) and said we could take it off if we didn’t want it on there. We decided to take it off due to the poor service and waiting time we had experienced. Matthews persona reversed back to how he had been with us prior to brining the bill. The smile on the recipient he drew was the only smile we received our entire stay at HUCKS. Food was okay. The price definitely does not reflect the quality or quantity of food. Really overpriced for quite basic pub food. Drinks are over priced. Service was shocking. Cleanliness of the restaurant was very good. After chatting about our experience in HUCKS, we all agreed the most American thing about our stay was the service charge on the bill. Maybe 2 stars is being generous….

The food was lovely and the atmosphere was great. The service was lacking though. Multiple things forgotten including the whole order for our toddler it's not fab all the adults having their food whilst a toddler has nothing for another 10 minutes!

Me and my family had a lovely meal thanks to @Lablogic and we were not disappointed. All meals were good and the service was also, oh and well done the fillet steak was excellent 👌

Definitely not worth the price. The food is similar quality to weatherspoons, it's quite tasty but they charge way too much. Advice for everyone - do NOT 'upgrade' the ribs to the premium pork belly ribs. You only get 2 ribs and to make up for the lack of food on the plate they offer you one of the steak sauces which doesn't go with the meal, it's not on the menu either, it's purely there to make the plate look less empty.

The food itself was fine and was actually tasty, but the portion size was horrendous and the price was ridiculous. I ordered burnt ends which was a £10 starter and I think I got maybe 4-5 tiny burnt ends. For that price, I assumed it would be a sharing starter. A number of people ordered the upgraded belly pork ribs which was around £25 and they literally got 2 ribs!! They offered steak sauce with the bbq belly pork ribs, we were all confused when the waiter asked what sauce they wanted as it didn't make sense and it wasn't on the menu, but when the food arrived it was clear that the sauce was just a plate space filler. Someone else ordered an ultimate burger and that was tiny, about the size of McDonald's cheeseburger and cost £16ish!! I am only giving 2 star rather than 1 because Huck's was better than our brunch experience at cafe rouge in centre parcs which was abysmal!!!

So stingy I had to laugh. What else can you do when you feel a robbed. Had the pork belly ribs. You get two ribs. Roughly less than half of what you'd expect for £22. At least they weren't dry and tasted ok. It's almost hilariously disappointing when it arrives. On the side it's a thimble of corn, a thimble of beans and a dozen or so fries. In the middle of the plate it's a giant gravy boat of steak sauce (you get to choose which), which makes very little sense with barbecued ribs (which already have their own sauce). This isn't mentioned on the menu so I suspect it's a last minute decision to pad out a plate that's looking very empty. Huck's isn't bad food, but its prices and portions take full advantage of its captive audience.

Food was to die for(except the hot fudge sundae that for some reason was loaded with popcorn). Nice atmosphere. Only took a star away because while not bad, the service could have been better. And the sundae was disappointing.

I'm not usually one to complain about portion size but I did expect a bit more. This picture was a chilli burrito from the main menu. I can't imagine the 'lighter meals' could be any smaller. It only contained three beans.

It was my son's 30th birthday and they decorated the table before we arrived. Food and service excellent!

Hello we are currently staying a Center Parcs and wanted to give a fair review as we had read the negative reviews the place was dull super busy but the staff couldn’t do enough for us food was quick and on time and we all enjoyed it 😊

We visited Hucks this weekend as a group of 24 people and were very impressed with the service. The staff were extremely welcoming and despite being a big group were very prompt with orders and service. We also asked for a group picture on the terrace which they were happy to help with. The food was delicious, and was served piping hot. The fajitas looked particularly impressive and the bagel garlic breads were a hit as were the nachos. Overall a great visit with the family and would definitely return.

Had dinner here last week. The food was good I had the chicken wings and mexican chicken burger and the service was great. The only problem is they should change the movie than play the same one after it finishes.

We had the best family meal for my dads 50th at huck restaurant at centre parcs Sherwood Forest, the waitress named sarah was amazing , we was very happy with our food and the value for money. The staff also went above and beyond making my dads birthday the best with singing happy birthday and bringing the cookie out as a surprise, couldnt recommend anymore.

we had an incredible experience at huck’s this evening for my birthday! it completely exceeded our expectations. we had the sirloin steak that was cooked to perfection and the ribs that came with an amazing bbq sauce on the side. the garlic butter fries were absolutely amazing and we couldn’t fault a single thing with our meals. a lovely lady called amanda served us - her service was top tier even with a busy restaurant around her, she made the the effort to talk and chat with us well as always make sure we were okay, we couldn’t thank her enough for our evening. would 100% recommend :)

The food was incredible and the staff very friendly. Booking advised as it does get full very quickly. There is a play area inside for children while they wait which my 2 loved. We will be returning very soon.

Overpriced. Me and my partner ate here on our first night at center parcs many years ago and have never been back despite multiple visits as the food is just not worth the price. The Foresters Inn is much better and a nicer environment.
