This restaurant was massively hyped on social media sites and we were looking forward to the dining experience. Unfortunately the food was bland and unappetising. It was also priced extortionately. Two soft drinks a starter and three mains was 86 pounds! Also did not like the waitress insisting that two mains was 'not enough' (it was) and the fact that there were four of them in such a tiny place. If you are a hipster and want to believe the 'Emperors New Cuisine' then go for it...

Bamboo has been our local Chinese of choice for the past 3 years now. Family who visit always rate it above the other ones in the area too, and trying to be as honest as possible with the review. We ordered takeaway this weekend with a variety of dishes, and sadly every single one of them had issues. Vege spring rolls - usually really tasty, these were overcooked and bland. Salt and Chilli chips - they are provided in a cardboard box, rather than the paper bag other things come in. As a result, even after a 5 min journey home they were completely soggy, and not remotely spicy. Prawn toast - Passable, again, a bit soggy from the issues with packaging. Special fried rice - Fish was really bland and the remaining meat was incredibly fatty - my wife ended up spitting it out. Noodles main was more of a special, given it had a random hair inside it. Overall, standards just seem to have completely dropped. Bland food, lacking in spice or flavour and definitely not fresh. Will be giving it a wide berth for the foreseeable future.

The waiters are very friendly! The pancakes and fruits are really delicious, very delicious, and the unexpected surprise is the vegetables, which is really unexpected! The xiaolongbao is also worth trying, it’s full of gravy! On the contrary, the salt and pepper chicken wings were a bit disappointing because they were quite dry! The coconut sponge cake also has an unexpected surprise. I didn’t expect that the effect of adding breast milk would be so good! While dining, I saw quite a few delivery people coming to pick up takeaways. I believe this restaurant has a certain appeal!

Char kuay teow was ok not great. It didn't have any wok hei taste. I never had CKT with chicken and squid and found the combination a little strange. The teh tarik had barely any tea taste and had to be redone. *Don't order the tea. Service was great and restaurant had a nice decor but when it comes down to it its all about the food and honestly it was a bit of a letdown.
