Family meal for my daughters birthday. The restaurant is beautiful and the food was amazing. The night was made by how awesome the staff were. Best service I’ve had in any restaurant in a long time. First time we’ve been, definitely will be back.

Busy restaurant with good food and friendly people. We had the 3 course menu for 2 people. The starters was more then enough of different starters. Then 3 different dishes from the main menu where again lovely. And dessert was the cherry on the tart. We had absolutely no honger anymore. Lucky a dogybag was possible.

The Manor House Chinese restaurant has lovely decor and is very clean. The service is first rate, we didn’t have to wait more than about two minutes between courses. The food was probably the best Chinese meal I’ve ever had (and I’m 67). We had the set meal for two and the starter was enough for a full meal. When the main course arrived it was more than we could eat. It was definitely worth the reasonable price. In Arnie’s words… “I’ll be back!”

“Alright” like central cee I haven’t come here in September yet but every time it has been delectable my two favorites the salt and pepper chips and salt and pepper wings. If you don’t like this I hate you because this has to be the best Chinese in Edinburgh. There’s always oodles of noodles in every noodle dish. Great for a Saturday night takeaway. couldn’t swap Chinese takeaways for my life.

Service was great people were really nice but food was terrible. Was not very traditional Chinese food our chicken was battered and fried rice covered in sauce Probably wouldn’t go again!

Very disappointed in our food. We are vegetarian but our spring rolls delivered had meat in them and shrimp. Vegetables dishes not nearly as good as usual.

My meal was very tasty. I had Thai. My girls vegetarian vegetables. It was too spicy for her, but not well seasoned either.

One server (seemingly the manager) was friendly and smiled. The other was miserable and seemed to either hate her job or just other humans in general. Mediocre food which was not finished and massively overpriced—paralleled expense of a London restaurant. No atmosphere dining inside in our visit, but that could be subjective depending on the night of the week, servers working, and a number of other variables. Overall, no rush to return.

We where a group of 15 adults and kids over for Edinburgh Cup football tournament. Called out of the blue to see could they accommodate use, and they did. Very pleasant staff, nothing was a hassle, and the food was outstanding. Highly recommend it 👌🏼 thank you

Had the special lunch menu. 2 courses or add a third for a little extra. Well prepared, fresh, and large portions. Great surroundings with a super friendly and professional staff. Very good value for money. Go on in, you won't be disappointed.

My husband and I were staying for just one night in Edinburgh and we are so pleased that we chose to eat at the Chinese Manor House. The food and service were both excellent. The staff are really friendly and nicely attentive. We had the mixed sharing platter to start which was a very generous portion. We ordered two chicken dishes for main course and, despite feeling very full, we were determined to eat them as they were so delicious. This is a high quality Chinese restaurant!

Best Chinese Restaurant in Edinburgh ...... without doubt

First visit and it was fantastic. Lovely restaurant- classy decoration. Very welcoming staff and the service throughout was excellent and attentive. Lots of choice in the menu. Food was well presented, hot, tasty and generous portions. Definitely will return and highly recommend a visit if in the area.

The food and service in here is really good one of the best Chinese restaurant in town,the prices are abit dear £55 for just 2 mains and rice+chips plus 2 juices.

worst chinese ever tried to eat! cheap oil tainted every dish, canned chicken, could not put my fork through the sliced carrots. should have known better when they said take away food ready in 5 minutes! did not enjoy one bit. will not be back.

Dined in on Friday evening. Place was very busy. Food and service excellent. Hong Kong Lime duck was superb. Loads of happy and satisfied customers 😊. Will be back again soon.

Was here for a wedding and was very good but unfortunately the stuff wasn’t so nice I accidentally broke a plant pot and informed staff about it. The staff member, then treated me very unwelcoming and told me I had to pay for the damage by (which I was happy to do) The said staff member made me feel very bad and held me accountable for it which like I said I was happy to pay for. He took my details, but also spoke down to me very much so during the altercation.. like I said I’m happy to pay for my mistake, but I was not happy to be made to feel how I was made to feel from said member of staff.

Very warm welcome by the lady at the desk. Staff were attentive and polite. The wrong Kung Po was served but after pointing it out the staff very kindly sorted me out with the right dish (Legacy Kung Po) although I would have been happy with the original dish served as both were delicious. I'd strongly recommend this place to anyone passing by. The menu is extensive!

Just got takeaway,sweet & sour was ok,Szechuan mixed meat awful,steak and pork tough ,sauce tasteless apart from overpowering taste of msg.Supposed to get free bag prawn crackers but weren’t in the bag.Would not recommend

We (my mum and I) stayed at Edinburgh Airport last Saturday (25th May 2024) ahead of a very early flight on Sunday morning. As we were deciding where to eat on Saturday evening, we found this restaurant and made the decision to try it...a decision certainly worthwhile! Upon arrival, it was incredibly busy with reservations, but the staff team were incredibly accommodating and were very efficient when juggling tables/seats around to fit us in! The staff were incredibly warm, welcoming and kind during our visit and they went above and beyond with their service. Living in London, I'm a frequent visitor to Soho's Chinatown and hands down the food at this restaurant was arguably better than anything I've ever had in Chinatown. The bill was very reasonable in line with portion sizes and drinks... We are flying from Edinburgh Airport again in October...and we will certainly be paying another visit then. Thank you to the staff team for such a wonderful experience...and I cannot highly recommend this restaurant enough to anyone staying at the Airport and/or who love Chinese.

I walked in. I was alone. There were many empty seats. The waiter put me at the door of the toilet. Discrimination against my own compatriots. All pre-prepared dishes.

I have lunched several times in this restaurant. I was with 3 of my friends this evening. The food was excellent. The staff were lovely and very friendly.

This is the best Chinese restaurant in Edinburgh, the food is beautiful, the staff are brilliant and the decor is amazing, I would highly recommend it , there take away food is always very hot as well 10/10 definitely Liz and Andy xx

The food was amazing. Lovely looking restaurant. The staff were so friendly and attentive. There is only enough room for about 4 cars in the car park but there is plenty of parking in the streets near the restaurant. They are also wheelchair friendly. They have lovely touch glob lights on the tables, we liked them so much we bought two from Amazon.

Made an order and was told it would take 1hour... 20 min later they were at my door. 10min drive away and Friday traffic.... something doesn't add up. Won't be back and hoping I'm not Unwell in the morning! £37 down the gutter.

The series always good. Staff are warm kind and know there stuff. Find was delicious again. been a few times and always great. I like that they have food warmers on table so if taking your time it's nit getting cold. This time waz a birthday celebration. If you tell them they bring out an ice cream dish with a big sparkler. They also sing happy birthday. Highly recommend going.

I'm sorry but liked the "old" set up in the restaurant. A few slip ups with service but ok. Food was good. Mine vegetarian and small portion compared to other dishes.

Got a takeaway with friends and really enjoyed it.

Six of us, first time in the Manor House. The atmosphere and ambience was apparent immediately. Service was with a smile and a sense of humour that made our experience all the more delightful. We agreed that our food was as good as chinese food can be and all served fairly quickly. Our booking was at 18:00 and as the venue got busier there was no difference to our service, it was always good.

Stylishly refurbished, suitable for special occasions and a family dine-out. Totally recommend Chinese Manor House 🏠

While looking at the menu, we received some complimentary Prawn crackers, such a lovely gesture 😋. We both ordered the spring rolls, which came with a slightly spicy sauce and nothing were delicious. Our main courses of Beef with Green Pepper and Black Bean sauce and Szechuan Chicken arrived shortly afterwards, along with some egg fried rice and Noodles( both served in a wooden lidded bowl). Both dishes were amazing. We ordered a bottle of wine and and the waitress kept coming back and pouring it for us, again a lovely touch. Bill for 2 of us with the service charge came to around  £50.00 and it was definitely value for money.

There has been a recent overhaul of the decor within the restaurant which has been very tastefully done. However as usual the food was great along with the service and friendly staff, what more could you ask for....

I got an Xmas meal takeaway from here a great pick up time, The food was still hot after walking ten mins up the road and very tasty will be back

Met up with friends tonight to celebrate a 60th birthday. Food absolutely amazing. Every dish was so tasty and full of flavour. All the additional touches with radish flowers etc made the presentation so beautiful. The service was above and beyond. Such genuine, amazing and friendly service - even when I knocked a full glass over! Best meal out we have had in the friendliest environment- thank you ❤️. You made a birthday celebrate perfect. .

Takeaway wasn't good, frier oil needs changed because the chips were boiled over fried. The satay is not satay sauce, more like a weak curry with a tiny hint of coconut. Disappointment is an understatement, I can't recommend this to anyone. Wish I had looked at some of the produce people posted in pictures before ordering, says it all. Pictures never lie.

The Chinese Manor is a lovely restaurant with several interesting dishes. Visited with a group of eight and we were all delighted with our choices. The Salt and Chilli Haggis starter is a mouth watering blend of East & West. 😋 The Chef Speciality of XO King Prawn and fine green beans was fantastic too. The decor is pleasant and the seats nice and comfortable. Service is efficient but more importantly lovely and friendly. Definitely recommended.

Have ordered a take away from here a few times . Tonight was not a good meal …. Chips were soggy and the Singapore fried rice seemed to be more like Indian curried rice . Very disappointed… won’t be ordering again !

Do not bother, spent £50 on a takeaway only to get up the road and they had forgotten one of the mains they said I could come back to collect but by then everything else would be cold, and refused to deliver, so my daughter had to eat a frozen pizza when everyone else had what was barely edible of the takeaway, I will be as fair as I can be considering their awful customer service. Szechuan beef was severely lacking in beef, although what was there was tough, if you love mushroom you should order this. 3/10 Chicken in black bean, probably the nicest dish there was although it was more of a black bean soup 5/10 Salt and chilli wings, soggy and tasteless 1/10 Saly and chilli ribs, these come battered which is just absolutely bizarre, it made them greasy and again tasteless. 1/10 Salt and chilli chips absolutely soggy and again tasteless, how can you make salt and chilli so bland? 1/10 Crispy chicken rolls, definitely crispy, definitely chicken(I hope so) definitely tasteless. 1/10 Fried rice, decent although lacked egg. 8/10 Chicken noodle soup, lots of soup very little chicken, although very tasty 8/10 Mixed curry(chicken and beef) I can only assume this would be heavenly going by the rest of the food, but since they DIDN'T BOTHER including it, I guess I will never know. You owe us £7.90, absolute daylight robbery. Avoid at all costs.

Lovely Decor, friendly staff,grateful food reasonably priced

Really great value and high-quality lunch menu, the food was lovely and tasted really fresh. it didn’t leave me feeling too heavy or like i’d eaten too much salt, like i sometimes get with other places. me and my girlfriend are both vegetarian and any of the main dishes were able to be substituted to veggie options.

This is the second time I have visited this restaurant and I have noticed no improvement since my last visit. It is average and there are far better out there.

I've been twice in quick succession, the first time just my wife and I, then latterly with our children too. Both times, the standard of food has been exceptional. Fresh and delicious. Overall, this is a more expensive option than most other local Chinese restaurants, but I dont mind that as a treat when you know that you're getting really top-notch food back in return. Despite living just up the road from here, we had avoided in the past due to a slightly later opening time than typical restaurants, which made it difficult to bring young children. However, they're getting to an age where this isn't as much of an issue, and I can see us being regulars here going forward. There are lots of options for my gluten-free wife, too.

Having spent time in Asia, this is one of the top Chinese restaurants I've visited in the UK so far. Food was delicious, especially the dim sum. Service was 10/10, friendly staff who were attentive throughout the evening. Not super cheap but worth it. Hidden gem of a restaurant!

We had Christmas dinner at the Chinese Manor House. Food was nice, but I have definitely had better Chinese food. The haggis was hard and overcooked. I prefer mine softer. Staff were lovely however.

Brilliant food and staff were so nice

The food was amazing and the staff personality was great. The only issues are the drinks and service time. It took a WHILE to get served in between meals and the drinks were extremely overpriced. 25ml of dry gin + 30ml of tonic water is £5.

Lovely restaurant, staff are very friendly and helpful. Made me something off the menu with no problem. Seemed overpriced. Meal for four, with no starters, 2 sides, no desserts and 1 round of drinks £117. Unfortunately, the chicken meat was very soft and without texture, a common problem with Chinese restaurants, that's why I go off menu and replace meat with veg.
