Food is amazing, in my opinion best Chinese takeaway in Edinburgh.

Ordered indonesian beef fried rice (large) + extra spicy and shreded chicken in peking sauce (medium), more than enough for 2 people The taste was really what we’d expected! If you are looking for mass and affordable meals, this is the place..

Finding a pocket saver or I should say a very great deal for a noodle meal or rice meal (more of asian cuisine) - this will be perfect for you! Not only the fair price but the food is really freshly prepared and filling. Customer service is really satisfactory, the cashier guy was very kind and he didn't refuse to take our order nearly at 23:00H which is their closing time -- that's what really makes it a great service as me and my friend were literally starving! This is definitely a recommendation for a good dinner meal. The food service opens at 16:00H.

Nice chill local spot, great value and quality. The beef chow mein is unbelievably good, especially for the price.

Have been going here for years however it is definitely not the same place as it used to be. Despite this, I have continued to order hoping things would improve. Unfortunately not. After tonight I won’t be order again. For around the 6th time now items have been forgotten. Over 1 hour it took for a replacement of the items, however by this time the food is stone cold. No apology or nothing.

Lived round the corner from this Chinese for 4 years and never went anywhere else. I live 50 miles away now and still get it when I’m back and have been known to take it home in a heat bag it’s that good. Also can’t complain at the prices, so cheap and really good food.

Jiuding is perfect, I’ve tried many Chinese takeaways around the area and nothing has beat Jiuding, my main to go takeaway by far

This used to be the best Chinese in leith if not Edinburgh but sadly those days are long gone. Quality, value, portions and service all used to be great but not now. Larch chicken dish was 6 pieces of chicken and the rest was “filler” vegetables and water chestnuts etc with a very watery sauce. The noodle dish was very bland and conjealed. The spring rolls were again bland and extremely greasy. The prawn starters weee too doughy And soggy The better being too thick and not crispy. Been eating from here for over 15 years but sadly will be my last time as it’s a shadow of its former self!

They said my payment didn’t process and they didn’t give me my food. However the payment has come out of my account. I have them proof and they still didn’t give me my money. The receipt they showed me had a different card number also……absolutely disgusting treatment

Absolutely shocking service!! Ordered my food and they said my payment declined…. The take away was over run with people and the receipt they showed me was at 18.15 with a different card number but on my transaction on my bank the money was taken at 18:13 and I showed them my card they still didn’t give me the food. Absolutely disgusting treatment

The food used to be really good here but has really gone downhill in recent months. Unlikely to use Jiuding going forward.

The absolute best Chinese in Edinburgh

The price is very good but quality is low. I ordered; Deep fried chicken in thai sauce: I guess it is what it says, just not my piece of cake; Beef in black bean sauce: tasty but some pieces of meat were a bit hard; cantonese style pork: the meat and coating was soggy; pork in curry sauce: meh. I was surprised since it has so many good reviews, but I have chinese regularly and I don’t think I will order food from here again anytime soon.

The food was really tasty and cheap too, we had meat spring rolls and vegetable chod mein - both delicious. I only expected the large portion to be larger. The wait time was about 7 minutes. Only the interior could use some upkeeping, as it looks dirty and old and isn’t really inviting (only 2 chairs for people to wait for their food).

Ordering was prompt. Food was below average. My husband ordered Kong Po beef. The cook put sweet and sour sauce on it. That’s far from what it should have been. Avoid this place or you will regret it when you get home with your take away.

Delicious food...spice level adjusted according to our taste. A very generous portion of food and value for money. On an order of $50 we got big packet of prawn crackers,a liter of coke and a can of Dr Pepper free. A family of six , we are well at dinner and had some leftovers for breakfast too. Highly recommend.

The best shop in the area for Chinese food. I’ve tried most of the menu and all meals are great. Phoning can be a nightmare as it’s so busy, better to walk in. Staff very friendly and polite. Try a combo box, superb.

A good take away. Food can be brilliant or just OK... I guess it depends who is in the kitchen. They do medium or large portions so you can try several small dishes or 2 big for 2 folk. I've been using them for years. The egg fried rice is always good.

Waited for 1 hour and 35 minutes for an order of lemon chicken, crispy shredded beef in sweet chilli sauce special fried rice and a portion of chips The Beef in black bean sauce was tasty, thick, full of flavour, The Crispy Shredded beef was soggy, drowned in colourless watery sugar syrup, no flavour at all, just sugar and water. My mum in law lemon chicken was again drowned in colourless watery sauce except the sauce was so sour it tasted of homemade lemonade, she couldn’t eat any of it. The chips were stone cold and the special fried rice had 2 prawns and 2 slices of pork meat, nothing else, the worse fried rice I’ve ever seen. I used to order from this place quite often and have been happy with their food in the past but I’m not taking a risk with them anymore, we waited over 1 hour and 30 minutes and paid for food that we could not eat, How can they get away with treating their costumers like this? Never again.

Good value, excellent delivery time, large portion sizes. Fried rice is the best I've had in a long time. Curry is reasonable but the flavour of the curry sauce is not quite there, it's close though and I still enjoyed it.

Hot, fresh and a good price. Salt and pepper dishes are the best I've tasted. Edit - salt and pepper dishes seem to have gone down hill, no salt or pepper flavor the last two orders and FULL of soggy onions, little else. What a shame.

Its always hit and miss whether you are going to like a chinese takeaway depending on personal preference. chicken foo yung was good sized portion, little tasteless but when covered in curry sauce, bang on the button...curry sauce very good ...chips skinny fries, but seemed to work, frued rice tasty.....nice touch with the free wings...would go back

Recently moved into the area and couldn’t possibly be more chuffed to find this place. Food is fresh, flavourful, very well seasoned and comforting. I had chicken chow mein which was delivious and my girlfriend had deep fried chicken in black bean sauce which was outstanding. We will definitely be back! Oh and a major positive aspect of this place- they take cards, even amex (min £15)

AAAmazing traditional Chinese food. Very high and stable quality with a cheaper price. Polite and skilled staff. Side note: I witnessed a small incident inside the shop today. Therefore I feel like saying it in general that — life is full of ups and downs. Bad days can come to anyone. No matter your position right now is the customer or the worker, you might be carried away by the downs happened to you or affected by the frustrations of the people from the former category. It is perfectly fine that sometimes you can’t control yourself. I, as a passerby, really appreciate your efforts afterwards trying to explain the situation and apologise for the possible turbulence you have caused. On the other hand, I admit my mistake of jumping into conclusions by observing only for seconds. It is not easy containing strong emotions no matter the causal relationship is whichever the combination of everyday life and work. I know it is hard but let’s relax. Things happened can’t be undone. An optimistic mindset would make the life experience much happier. Understanding each other and a bad memory are essential no matter you are within the story or an observer. There are so many other good things happening and awaiting. At the very least, a good Chinese takeaway might comfort you. Enjoy Chinese and wish you happy days.

My partner and I moved around the corner from this place and were excited to try it out. We will definitely be back as it was the best Chinese we’ve had in Edinburgh. Great portion sizes and all very tasty! We especially loved the salt and pepper squid and the crispy seaweed. Will be back soon.

I got the combo box and was pleasantly pleased with how much was included for the price! I got 3 full meals out of that bad boy. The staff were very friendly and wait time wasn't too long, even when walking in off the street.

After my partner ordered from here tonight, the food took about an hour and a half to arrive, we were informed the driver was on his way and waited about 40 mins for him to appear and when we asked the driver what took so long his reply was ‘it’s too far’. We’re not even a 10 min drive away and for the drive to say ‘it’s too far’, isn’t professional to me at all. Not exactly great customer service 😂

I have always been a big fan of the food there but tonight was a bit disappointing. I was telling my friends that we definitely needed to try the salt& pepper chicken. Then we made two unsuccessful phones calls. The first call was hung up directly when I asked could I speak Chinese to order. Then we called again. After we confirmed the post code and delivery address, we were about to say what we wanted to order, but the call was hung up again. I have ordered for lots of times from this restaurant and the person who picks up the call is always friendly and helpful. I guess the new staff might need a bit more training because it’s kind of frustrating to place an order if the call keeps being hung up.

Everything I have ever ordered from here has been absolutely fantastic. And judging by the lockdown queue of waiting customers, it has been for others also. The prices are very reasonable and the staff (it's always the same guy) are friendly and customer driven

Waited 2 hours for a carry out delivered before I cancelled then the driver showed up 10 minutes later. Just a joke,terrible communication between shop and delivery drivers. 😡😡

Have found difficulty in finding a good Chinese takeaway in Leith over recent years. Thought we would give Jiuding a try based on the reviews. We were not disappointed, like that there is the choice of portion size. Small Special Curry plenty of meats etc but (the sauce) could have been spicier, will request more spice next time and would also order larger size of the sweet and sour sauce as not quite enough. Very reasonably priced. Quick delivery Would use Jiuding again

We adore this place. We hunted for a good Edinburgh chinese for over two years and then found Jiuding. Excellent food, great value and fab service. Also doesn’t feel too greasy. Absolutely love it.

Absolutely love the food from here, and the service is great. I don't know how the one guy manages that front desk but he does a great job. You might think it's a shame its not on JustEat etc. but having to go get your cash out is worth it to eat from here.
