I almost want to gatekeep this place but it wouldn’t be fair! It is so delicious, reasonably priced and the staff are lovely. Highly recommended.

Incredible authentic Chinese food at an amazing price. So glad that Chop Chop have been able to bring their amazing food back after closing their restaurant a few years ago. Highly recommend the unlimited banquet to enjoy all their delicious dishes.

We stumbled across this place whilst trying to find somewhere to eat on a Saturday night. They had one last table and we dived in. The owner was so so welcoming and super helpful, recommending what to try and explaining how the menu worked. We’ve done countless Chinese/Japanese/Korean BBQs but never one combined with a hot pot. Fabulous food! Lovely atmosphere. Would definitely recommend and would absolutely come back next time we’re in Edinburgh

The freshest Indian food prepared and delivered super fast by a really friendly bunch of people. I’m definitely a regular for a reason! Great value too.

The seasoning is weird. The beef spices in the beef noodles are not quite right. The lion head is big and looks quite sincere, but there is too much pepper. It’s hard not to suspect that the chef’s hand slipped and poured half a bottle of white wine into it. Pepper, the fried dumplings are not really fried dumplings. They are cooked and fried in a pan. Probably to save time, they only fry one side, which is not crispy. Moreover, the fried dumplings do not look like they are made by hand. It feels like I bought quick-frozen dumplings, but the few dishes I ordered were not very tasty, so I was quite disappointed...

Over £14 for a small plate of (well cooked) pak choi is taking the prawn cracker. The enormous profit margin is certainly not going on the decor. The braised pork belly was undercooked and gloopy, though the dumplings were good. Felt ripped off.

Cosy spot, revere a table through the website. Hade the butterfly prawns, crispy wontons, duck spring rolls and bao buns for starters. The butterfly prawns were the best oit of the bunch. For main we had the crispy beef. Okay food, not very flavorful but cost place and great staff.

The noodles were excellent thick and chewy. The braised beef brisket was full of flavour, tender and bitey. The broth was very flavourful. It retained clear nourishing quality. If you look for a freshly- made beef noodle soup in Edinburgh, look no further. It is a place you simply must try.

If the restaurant actually existed, it may have been the best ever place we’ve eaten at. As it turns out Shangri La is probably an apt name for a restaurant which is imaginary. Unfortunately we walked for about a mile and half to discover its been repurposed as a shop.

Vicino alla stazione di Haymarket. Bisogna prenotare. Locale piccolo, frequentato da pochi turisti e da molti cinesi. Servizio rapido e cortese.

Came across this place by accident on our way to the National Museum. The place was jam-packed, which is always a good sign. The spicy Sichuan hotpot was absolutely incredible, I could eat it every day forever. Blew my friend's head off with the spice, but if ever anything was worth losing your head over, this would be it!
