It was the first time I ever had "real" Chinese food and I would 100% recommend it. The fact that a lot of Chinese people come here to eat speaks for itself. I had the Tofu Dry Pot and it was amazing. Vegan/Vegetarian options are clearly marked and the food is freshly cooked. I would totally recommend coming here.

The worst place iv ever ate it’s unhygienic and there is a corner where they have stored a old cooker it’s filthy and has old bits of carpet over it they were taking food next door without covering it and they had to go out doors to do so the food was disgusting don’t go !!

The food was outstanding, with a wide variety of delicious dishes to choose from. Every dish was perfectly prepared, and the flavors were authentic and mouthwatering. The service was top-notch, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The ambiance was cozy and inviting. I can’t wait to return for another unforgettable meal. Highly recommended!

If you see Chinese people eating in a Chinese restaurant that's always a good recommendation - and this must be one the the best Chinese meals I've ever had. Definitely plan to go back there if I get chance before I leave Edinburgh

Possibly the best Chinese Restaurant in Edinburgh.Comfortable and spacious, the menu offers a wide variety of dishes to suit all tastes. Service is excellent from friendly and attentive staff and the high quality food was superb and represented excellent value for money.

I have just had one of the best chicken sweet and sour with rice. Highly enjoyable. Good value. Very much recommended. Staff were also exceedingly friendly.

We booked a table in the restaurant in a hope to have a nice dinner. Unfortunately, it didn't happen. When we came, our table wasn't ready and we had to wait for the table to become free. After we have ordered food, it has passed more than an hour before starters have been brought to our table. 20 minutes later two mains without sides have arrived, but since we had 4 people in our party, the rest still have been waiting. The restaurant was extremely busy, and the priority was given to Asian families and take aways. We have decided to cancel our order and definitely will never be back.

One of the worst places I visited!!! Waited 50 minutes and didn’t not get my dish!!! Definitely gives preference to Asian people (family came later and received much earlier!!!!) Also take away orders get preference before people waiting near the table.

Went here for dinner, do not be mislead with the positive reviews!! Took 30 mins for the starters to arrive, my partner's meal arrived and another 15 mins before my meal arrived..It arrived with raw chicken on the plate covered up with sauce, I sent it back declining a replacement. At no point did anyone come to apologise. The place was absolute chaos.

We dined here on two consecutive evenings. Seriously good food. Delicious beef in black bean sauce. Interesting and varied menu. Staff lovely if a little rushed off their feet. Food arrived when it was ready. Friendly atmosphere. Would recommend for the food. Fun. Reasonable prices.

When we come here, it's usually more like lunchtime and we tend to get the same few things, like their specialty jian bing and Chinese burgers. But instead this time we went for dinner on Saturday night and enjoyed some different options: a house special mixed dry pot stew was a real highlight! We have had something similar in other Chinese restaurants since Edinburgh has begun to feature more diverse and authentic Chinese cuisine in recent years, but this was our first time ordering it at Street of Beijing, and it was delicious. It's good to see this business doing well and making continuous improvement with an interesting menu and comfortable atmosphere.

I am literally eating honey chilli beef noodles at the minute but had to find a way to leave a review. I ordered via Deliveroo. I’ve had Chinese food my whole life and have probably only once had anything close to being as good as the food here, at the Shangrila in Dubai.It is priced slightly above your average Chinese takeaway, but this is definitely a proper restaurant not a takeaway. The beef was actually crispy, and a lot of care went into the presentation even for a delivered meal. Even late on, the quality is still there unlike in a lot of places you may order from later on in the evening. An absolute gem and will be my new go to. Thanks for my Fanta

I’ve lived in China and I couldn’t believe that these guys had the same street food that I have been looking for ever since 2013!It is authentic Chinese food that is utterly delicious. Their pancake I used to get from a street vendor, the tomato and egg stir fry... just amazing. Thank you for not commercialising Chinese food and doing it right!

Fui por un desayuno con sopa de fideos, llámalo brunch si quieres. Eran las 11. 30 am, nadie más en el restaurante, pero el personal está siguiendo el protocolo de Covid. Hoy he estado aquí con mi hermana, para mí fue la primera vez, y todo lo que comimos fue excelente. Pedimos una porción de rollitos de primavera, uno de Jiaozi (bolas de masa china) y uno de Jian Bing. Todo lo que puedo decir es que esos Jiaozi fueron probablemente los mejores que he probado. Ingredientes frescos y de gran calidad, suaves y deliciosos. El chico que nos atendió fue super amable y el precio más que razonable. Desafortunadamente, debido a las restricciones por la razón que todos sabemos, no pude pagar con tarjeta, de hecho, el restaurante solo acepta pagos en efectivo en su mesa. Pero a pesar de eso, tuve un almuerzo fantástico, ¡volveré seguro!

Went to this restaurant with two friends, the food was delicious - fresh, spicy and authentic flavours of Szechuan cooking (ordered the beef hotpot and a variety of dumplings). The waiter/chef was incredibly hospitable and friendly; would recommend to anyone.

Reservamos con antelación y la persona en el teléfono fue de gran ayuda. El restaurante está muy bien decorado y el servicio fue extremadamente rápido y recibimos nuestra comida en 10 a 15 minutos. ¡La comida era fresca, caliente y deliciosa! I have tried their homemade Soy Milk, Pancake, and Soup dumpling, can't find another Chinese restaurant in Edinburgh to make these authentic foods so far.Chinese dim sum is very difficult to be homemade without large input of time and energy for business. Frozen dim sum and dumplings are available everywhere, I recommend the homemade foods here.很久沒有吃到煎餅果子，這裏做的很好吃。煎餅果子重要原料都有還原，綠豆粉做的煎餅，甜麵醬，炸兩，最重要的提味榨菜，老闆是有認真在做的。第一見這裏的平價中餐廳自己包灌湯包， 自己榨豆漿， 自己炸油條，如果想吃新鮮的食物可以一試。

This Chinese restaurant has been around Tollcross for a while and I have to say the food is really lovely. The service is also very friendly. Anyone who’s eaten proper Chinese food will recognise all the authentic dishes but the dumplings are fantastic.

A group of 7 of us stopped here for dinner on a Saturday night.The restaurant looks more like a cafe, and I was a little nervous as it seemed empty on what is surely one of the busiest nights.But the food was good and the service was great too.

The venue is small, but the food was brilliant! The young man seemed to be the only English speaker, and was trying to take orders, serve, and take payment, which cannot be easy!

We were given a tiny table with hardly room for 1 person let alone 2,facing an overflowing rubbish bin. We were next to the kitchen doorway which had dirty strips fabric which caught on the waiters coming out. Ordering a drink we were told to help ourselves from a cabinet. Behind the drinks cabinet was a heap of rubbish. One of the waiters had no idea of what was in the dumplings when we asked. The rice was in clumps and had obviously just been microwaved, chicken was dry and and flavourless. Waiters crashes into each other and dropped a plate of food. An atrocious place.

I am going to comment on the utterly terrible working atmosphere, the owner/boss, a young Asian male, kept prompting to the staff ‘quick quick quick’ every minute in front of the customers, he even said to a poor young waiter ‘two mistakes, third one and you’re fired’; this was appalling to witness, it really put us off our meal and ruined our evening, people can’t be humiliated that way.

I'v e never been tempted into this restaurant: everything looks tired, temporary, not very appetising, and not particularly hygienic. But I was in a hurry today, and they told me they could do me a vegetarian pancake with egg, tofu, salad and pickles in 7 minutes, and they did. It was much nicer than a sandwich, and it was interesting watching it being made. I would definitely buy this again, and perhaps some of their other vegetarian/vegan options. A nice surprise.

Visited for first time. While ordering a guy came up and rudely barked at me to sit down. Then my food was brought without my drink so I went up and politely asked about it. Same guy glared at me and pointed at fridge without even saying anything. I felt embarrassed. Food was tasty but cold, but I didn't feel like asking them to heat it up after that. Won't be back.

Excellent food, great little place in Edinburgh, would definitely go again. As a vegetarian it had excellent options I'd definitely recommend the tofu pancake and dumplings. Very child friendly too.

Had dumplings and a tofu noodle soup yesterday. The tofu tasty, fresh noodles, delicious dumplings, accompanied by a relaxing oolong green tea. All served by a friendly team where you feel they like cooking. Go and try!

Les meilleurs dumplings depuis des lustres (faits main), la spécialité de crêpe de Beijin juste délicieuse. Un régal, avec le sourire et pour un prix plus que raisonnable. On reviendra!

After a long day in town, we were able to relax and enjoy a nice evening at this establishment. Staff was friendly and helpful. An endearingly enthusiastic waiter made sure we weren't wanting for anything. The food was excellent and even when the restaurant made a mistake in regards to gluten free options, we were served a different dish within minutes and free of charge!

We had a really good lunch here. The kids loved the spring rolls and the dumplings (and I liked the ones I managed to get for myself before they all vanished!). Food arrived fast. The staff seemed a bit rushed off their feet, but that just adds the the 'street food' ambience.

Popped in for a taste of Chinese for tea. Meal served within 3 minutes of me sitting down. A glutinous mass with chicken lumps which looked as if they had just been dropped into the fairly disgusting gloop. The rice was a soggy lump. Curry? Tasteless! £2:50 for a can of Coca Cola! Never again!

You are made to feel very welcome with a smile, the food is excellent and very tasty, and is served to you very fast. The atmosphere is relaxed, homely and comfortable.

I used to enjoy taking kids to this place ordering some nice Chinese street food. My latest visit ended horribly thanks to the very disappointing attitude of the waiter. Safe to say I shall never visit this place again. If you want some OK food but don't mind the possibly bad service, this maybe the place to go.

First time dining out in Edinburgh. Fancied Chinese and this one popped up as local in the Google search, with decent reviews. Not a grand exterior, but easy to find and inside everywhere was clean and functional. From the moment we stepped in we were made to feel welcome. The menus were 'unconventional' certainly to what we were used to, but the staff were very obliging and took time to talk us through our options. The recommendations were spot on. The pancake was divine and the dumplings and soup were delicious too. Everything we ate (plus a couple of beers each), was tasty and well prepared. This is a 'proper' Chinese restaurant and we would not hesitate to return or recommend. Even the bill pleased us ☺️⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My husband and I are vegan so eating out can be tricky. The staff here were so kind and friendly and talked us through the menu. The food they recommended was incredible. Absolutly delicious. The price was only £43 for 3 incredible courses and 2 beers each. Absolutely recommend this quirky little place and the awesome tofu pancake. Thank you so much.

We went for two dishes to this Restaurant as we read the recommendations. Unfortunately we didn't like it that much - the braised beef 'bowl' tasted like nothing and the teriyaki chicken was very hard.

Friendly staff and lovely food. I have got meals here on many occasions and never been disappointed. The dumplings are fantastic, but my favourite is the SPECIAL PANCAKE - I get to watch it being made on a hotplate and then eat it! It is a great-tasting and filling lunch and well-worth making a beeline here for.

Good food, friendly staff, affordable and recently been updated. I didn’t mind the old decor anyway but new one looks fresh and tidy. Dosen’t matter what decor they go with they always deliver on the food. People and food always most important factor for me .Definitely recommend the beef soup and prawn dumplings yummy

This place has become my favourite Chinese to eat at beating fancy restaurants because they just do things simply.

As I write this, I've been waiting 40 minutes to be served. It is moderately busy at best, eg lots of empty tables, no apparent rush on takeaway. It presents as a quick street food sort of place.

Booked a table for six at six on 26/3/19. We looked over the simple menu. The staff are on hand to explain anything. I have stood outside this place many times watching the dumplings being hand made and all the rest for the food done on two large hot plates. The waiter was a young Chinese guy who was very cheery and took our order then read it back. I would warn that you will tend to order too much the dumplings are very heavy. I could not find fault with anything in this place. I will definitely become a regular. You can have a freshly done lunch for about £7.00. I hope the place survives as it deserves to become a firm favourite. I will add that anytime I have stood watching from outside it always has a young Chinese clientele which is a good sign.

Looked quite authentic from the outside with the dumplings being freshly prepared & the staff were nice when we entered however the food we had was very poor. The chicken curry was just the sauce over plain chicken, the rice looked terrible & had no taste. We also had salt n pepper chicken with rice, again very poor. Left most of the food. I can only hope that this was a one off.

I’ve been meaning to try this place for a little while as they do pancakes that is not had before, and dumplings etc which you don’t find in Edinburgh very often. I had been to see a film at the Cameo opposite and they were still open when I came out. They only took cash but I placed my order and went to the ATM opposite. The man behind the counter was very helpful. I got a pancake and it was great. I’d be very tempted to go back. The restaurant itself seems pretty basic but the choice is good with things otherwise difficult to get in Edinburgh and it was reasonably priced.

My wife and I visited this establishment. I must admit that the food in here is excellent. We had dumplings sweet and sour chicken and my wife had beef. The chef here has got it sorted. I've had Chinese food all over the world and this is definitely the best I've ever tasted. Celebrity Chinese cooks should come here and take lessons from this guy.

Shortly: We have been twice and friends also visit often. Good food, in large portions. We enjoyed the pancakes and soup dumplings, no complaints there. The soy drink is very good and self-made. The rice porridge was tasty and satisfying. The owner was very helpful.

To be fair this place is only small. Menu limited - Spring Rolls very tasty - the chicken & sweetcorn soup not quite so. Main courses quite bland but in the plus side quick service - food piping hot. Ideal if your in a rush
